I don’t know if I can possibly write a review to convey how amazing Rose Ahn is, as both a top-rated NYC wedding planner and as a person.
I got her name from the referral list from Blue Hill at Stone Barns when we signed the contract. After speaking to Rose on the phone, I immediately knew that I was going to hire her. She is the utmost professional, has the most calming demeanor, is extremely smart and detail-oriented, and makes you feel like you are her only client! We only had 6 months to plan the wedding, and she made it so easy and recommended the most amazing vendors that I never would have known about. She insisted (without being bossy) that I book The Hudson Project Band which was one of the many great pieces of advice she had given me. They brought the house down with their amazing energy and the dance floor was packed all night long.
Rose also highly recommended our florist, Michelle from Wild Floral Designs in the Bronx. The wedding flowers were absolutely breathtaking and so uniquely creative. I almost fainted when I saw how beautiful the room was! This is no exaggeration! Rose also recommended Amazebooths for our Photo Booth, and the pictures look like they belong on the cover of Vogue.
Rose also saved us so much money. There were some extras I wanted to add to food and beverage, and she told me we really didn’t need it and she was totally right.
The day of the wedding, Rose and her three assistants blew me away how much work they did to make the wedding day absolutely perfect and run so smoothly. She wrote and distributed a minute-by-minute timeline for everyone involved in the wedding, and she made sure everyone adhered to it (in her very kind professional way)!!!!! I really had no idea what was involved behind the scenes in throwing a wedding successfully, and was just more in awe of Rose when I saw all the work that they did. She picked up the wedding dress and my dress from the hotel where we were doing hair and makeup, brought it to Blue Hill, and steamed and ironed the dresses with Violeta at Blue Hill (Violeta is the bridal attendant and she is also above and beyond fantastic).
If you are throwing a wedding and are looking for a guaranteed successful event, you have to hire Rose. She is truly the best of the best.
Where to begin with Rose? Hiring Rose to coordinate our wedding was the best decision we made in our entire planning process. She kept us on track with timelines, checklists, and reminders, ensuring that no element was overlooked. Her meticulous attention to detail ensured that everything would run smoothly on the big day (and it did). Rose was the epitome of professionalism from start to finish. She was responsive to emails and calls, addressing any questions or concerns we had in a timely manner, and her calm and reassuring demeanor helped alleviate any pre-wedding jitters.
One of the things we appreciated most about working with Rose was her expert guidance and support. She understood our vision for the day and provided valuable advice and suggestions to bring it to life, offering ideas on everything from how to improve the flow of the day to how to showcase Emma’s grandmother’s bracelet and beyond. Rose’s experience in the industry was evident, and her creative solutions to potential challenges were invaluable.
On the day of the wedding, Rose was in her element. She and her team (Christina and Brenda) orchestrated every detail flawlessly. They divided and conquered, seamlessly passing off responsibilities and people & logistics management. At one point early in the day I walked past the guest room and saw all three sitting on the floor with their notebooks having a team meeting before go-time…of course such organization is crucial when we have multiple locations and dozens of people and elements to manage and I was so impressed in that moment to have a view into their team mentality - Rose is a true leader. For the rest of the day their presence allowed us to relax and enjoy the day without worrying about a thing. We were able to fully immerse ourselves in the moment, knowing that Rose had everything under control.
Rose’s professionalism, expertise, and dedication to her craft were evident every step of the way, and we are incredibly grateful for their role in making our special day unforgettable. Rose is an excellent planner. She is thoughtful, kind, experienced, and all around wonderful to work with. Don't hesitate- Rose Ahn is a superstar. Without her our wedding would have missed so many small details. She is incredibly experienced and her attention to detail is top notch. From creating a timeline of the event to facilitating the day of, she was with us every step of the way. She made sure everything was taken care of and we felt so much more confident that the night would progress perfectly with her...and it did! Our event had a lot of moving parts too, live performers, videographers, etc. but Rose handled everything with grace and executed our vision flawlessly!
Venue… Photographer… Flowers… Band/DJ… Invitations… Seating Chart… that's all you need to plan a wedding, right?
Those are certainly big, foundational decisions in the process- but there are so many more details that go into planning your big day. The biggest lesson that my wife and I learned about planning our wedding is that it's not just about the big decisions for that day, but it's also about the little attention to details that make the day memorable and special. We could not have done it without the help, support and guidance from Rose Ahn.
As self-proclaimed detail oriented and particular people, my wife and I both are planners by nature. We figured our own wedding would be a piece of cake (pun intended)… we were wrong. Busy with life, work, etc - we soon found ourselves overwhelmed with everything and that we weren't making any progress.
From the very first conversation my wife and I had with Rose - we knew we were in good hands. Rose is well organized and just leans in to help in all facets of planning. She blends and absolutely grasp of the event process with professionalism and serving as the guiding light on the journey. As the months passed - we finally reached the day of! Rose was there at our venue, radio in ear to engage her assistant, a utility bag that had everything you could possible need (aspirin, tums, lip balm) and a look of "it's gametime." There for us every step of the way -- the months of decisions, details, and nuance all came to fruition. We had the most amazing time at our wedding - it was everything we wanted.
Planning a wedding is an absolute journey - there will be ups and downs. We recommend Rose Ahn to help bring balance to a crazy process. We're so grateful for Rose and if you're considering a planner - Rose Ahn will take amazing care of you.
Working with Rose is like having your really organized best friend take care of your event. The first thing you’ll notice is how warm and friendly she is on your initial calls. This did not change throughout our process. We truly enjoyed just chatting with her, and talking about food we both liked when discussing those options.
Secondly, her experience in the pre-event stage will rapidly show itself as you describe what it is you want. For us, it was a small, family-oriented wedding in NYC in March. Venue knowledge, quality vendor relationships, logistics advice...you name it, she had info at the ready, and choices that fit our personalities. If she didn’t, she found it soon thereafter, which may be even more important because that shows her adaptability. When we brought on a photographer, videographer and hair & makeup artist she’d never worked with before (family connection), she was flexible enough to get them on-board.
Time-wise, we only had 10 ten weeks to get it done, and to be honest, with Rose it felt like a normal time to get things ready. Maybe we could have used 1-2 extra weeks, but the way in which Rose took care of our big picture (e.g., colors, overall aesthetic, a “family reunion” theme) plus dozens of tiny details (e.g., what would hold up the officiant’s script, which hotel had better room for hair & makeup, what time would the cake place open up the day of), it seemed like everything was completely fine. Of course, there were probably loads of problems that were solved behind the scenes, but that’s where she shines.
With full-time jobs, we are used to doing things on our own, but with Rose it was like having the Wolf character in Pulp Fiction at your side, doing all the hard work of your family’s accommodations, keeping vendors informed and to your specs, hashing out seating arrangements, and feeling out what would be the most enjoyable schedule of events. She totally read our couple vibe from the start: warm, friendly, family-oriented, quirky. That kind of palm reading is probably something you won’t think of needing, but when Rose knew our natural tendencies, she was able to identify and apply that to every decision, which is hard to find!
Day-of: along with a super professional and kind assistant, Rose turns into a battlefield general, and I mean that in the best way. She sees the complete day in her head, has all the chess pieces in place, and is moving mountains for you, whether it’s getting people in place or putting out fires. She’s 100% game face, and that’s what you want, so you can be all smiles and enjoy your day, which we did. She consults you discreetly if a projector you wanted to use is acting up, or gently reminds you if a vendor’s about to head out and you wanted to get them a tip, otherwise, she’s busy kindly moving your guests where they need to be or solving some silly thing that happened to the wedding cake (not her fault).
All in all, Rose came to us as a suggestion from one of the top wedding planners in NYC. It is clear why: professional, strategic yet detail-oriented, intuitive, and FUN. Most of this process is the planning and it was like talking to a best friend about what is going to be one of the most memorable days of your lives. Rose was that and more. I hope you’re able to work with her, but I also hope not too many of you are by the time we want plan another event with her :) Good luck planning your own event, but you probably won’t need it with Rose. She is your luck.
Rose was super helpful and went above and beyond in every sense. We hired her to coordinate the month of the wedding and she handled all the vendor scheduling, building the timeline, scheduling all meetings including rehearsal and during the day of her team made sure everything ran smoothly. She was always available and provided us with great advice. We would definitely recommend her to anyone, she reduced our wedding stress tremendously and we were able to better enjoy our wedding day thanks to her.
