The location and ambience is amazing-- think cozy/ fancy, similar to Napa! We chose this venue for good food, scenery, location. I did my bridal portraits here too and they were amazing, so many types of rooms and styles to take pics in! We liked having a venue with pretty architecture so we didn't have to decorate a ton with floral.
However, there were lots of red flags for the price vs quality. Ashlie Lynch, the on site coordinator is unhelpful. If you have a separate wedding planner, make sure you do most of your communication through her (not Ashlie).
I would borderline say Ashlie is unprofessional. She asked us no less than 5 times to allow her friend to put up a tent on the ceremony lawn the day of our wedding, so her friend could have the tent set up for a holiday party on Sunday. We paid 5K for the lawn space, and to have a tent set up in front of the iconic arches and steps would take away from the ceremony.
When I asked if we could try the soup on the tasting day, she said that would cost extra (a cup of soup vs allowing her friend to set up a tent on the lawn we rented months in advance-- she's just not flexible for the couple and this was an example where she had her own interests in mind).
Ashlie has no interest of the couples' wishes on their wedding day, so that's why your own wedding planner could make sure things get done properly (had I known this I would've been more on top of things and asking my planner to double check, but you assume when you ask for something specific at this price point, it's no problem).
We chose a premium bar package, and asked for the groom's drink (old fashioned) to come with luxardo cherries and an orange peel. They mass produced the cocktail and it looked like a Shirley temple (even our wedding planner said the OF looked oddly pink) and had the hot pink, cheap miraschino cherries. Not a big deal, we didn't say anything the day of bc you can't change it, but just an example of how they will short cut every angle even though you are paying luxury prices!
Another example is valet. We had a majority of our out of town guests at a different hotel and provided private bus transportation. Ashlie still over estimated the amount of cars in valet by double and would not change it (stating that it's the total amount of guests, not per car... seems an odd way to charge for valet). I would have your planner try to get that number readjusted.
We chose a different cake vendor (Lauren's fancy cakes) bc their pastry chef was not flexible on icing/style/flavor of cakes (it was very bland, they made another variation which we tried but still didn't taste like good cake). We were not impressed by their cake at all during the tasting (it's whipped icing, not sweet at all).
The day of the wedding was fun, we liked how we could use the lawn for the ceremony, the upstairs bar for cocktail hour and the promenade/ballroom for reception-- all 3 changes of scenery in 1 location!
I only write specific issues in my review to make another couples experience better. I would do it over again at The Mansion, it was beautiful and our guests loved it. And I'm sure there are more type A brides than me willing to fight the fights to make sure their day is perfect and not get bamboozled by Ashlie. I honestly do feel like we paid for services we didn't receive. The process is already overwhelming for couples.
I felt very special, cared for, and heard during my meetings with the wedding coordinator. The wedding went perfectly and they made arrangements to have the ceremony and reception on the lawn which I don’t believe they had done before. Only issues were lack of flexibility on the choice of wine and liquor in the bar packages and some aspects seemed way overpriced just because of the name of the venue, not the quality. Overall would definitely recommend! It was the best night I could’ve hoped for and the venue was a big part of that.
We had an intimate ceremony and dinner at the Mansion and everything was absolute perfection! Ashlie was the best throughout the whole process - she was so prompt in answering all of my questions and completely put me at ease. The day of, everything was so organized, the staff was attentive, the food, decor, space, and cake were all amazing. Highly recommend this venue for your wedding (big or small) or your next event!
I was so disappointed with our experience here. We ran out of appetizers very early on in the cocktail hour-it was the amount our coordinator suggested ordering. But instead of trying to help out & make more the head waiter was argumentative & proceeded to share a copy of our order in front of guests! They also were not proactive at all with sharing drink selection with our guests.
I also was fighting back tears when I saw our cakes especially the Brides one. Despite sharing my design, well in advance to their pastry chef this person just decided on their own they didn’t agree & did their own. Fine except this wasn’t communicated to me until I saw it that day! It still makes me cry to think about it-that’s NOT my cake & hate that it’s what is in our pictures. There were a couple other missteps as well but you get the idea. We have made this vendor aware of our experience & they tried to make it up with a free nights stay in the future but that can’t undo the damage.
Had I known all this would definitely have hired another reception vendor. I know they’re known for attentive & caring service which is a big reason we chose them-but for whatever reason we just didn’t experience that.
Holy crud! The Rosewood Mansion was the most professional, kind and beautiful wedding location ever! Not only was our Honeymoon Suite beyond perfect, but the service itself was phenomenal! Our outdoor wedding was romantic and seamless, the food and cake was delicious, the entire building was romantic and the servers were so attentive! They even had a Lexus we could drive for up to 5 miles out of the hotel after the honeymoon, so we got a “get away” car! Jordan Fatheree was the best wedding location coordinator in the world. 10/10 would recommend
