emony and reception. During multiple planning Zoom calls, we were very clear and detailed about what we wanted—especially for the ceremony. We provided specific songs and exact start and stop points, down to the second. Tyler assured us this would not be a problem, and all of these details were documented in a Google planning document he provided. Tyler often spoke about how Ross Productions was different from other DJ companies and emphasized that “excellence” was a core value. Based on these conversations, we felt confident we were in good hands. Unfortunately, on the wedding day, the ceremony did not go as planned. * There was supposed to be a small monitor in the hallway so those waiting to enter could hear the ceremony audio and hear their cues, but it was not present. * The processional song was cut short, even though it was planned to play in full. As a result, my husband was not ready when the DJ knocked to cue his entrance, and we lost an important moment of worship together with my sons. * The bride’s processional song was not cued to the correct starting point, despite this being discussed, documented, and rehearsed. The specific lyrics that were meaningful to us were not playing as I walked down the aisle. * The unity candle lighting song played longer than planned and was not cut as discussed. * Our reception entrance song was supposed to stop at a specific point. This was discussed in advance and reiterated immediately before the entrance, yet the song continued. * The same issue occurred with our first dance, despite clear instructions given during planning and again right before the reception. Overall, it felt as though the detailed notes and planning were not followed. While the open dancing portion of the reception later in the evening was enjoyable, it did not make up for mistakes during the most meaningful and irreplaceable moments of our wedding day. Afterward, when we raised these concerns, we received a partial refund, but we would much rather have had our ceremony executed as planned. Given the number of errors, we simply wanted an explanation of how this happened. Instead, we experienced what felt like deflection, blame placed on others, and a lack of accountability, including being told the matter had been turned over to a lawyer regarding potential “false statements” in a review. This response was surprising and discouraging, as we were only seeking an explanation of what went wrong. All of the details described above were documented in the Google planning document provided during our planning process. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Ross Productions for events where precise timing and close attention to detail are critical.

Before signing, he met with us to go through all the different packages we offered with no pressure to sign on the spot which we both loved. After we decided to work with him, we were able to add a selfie station and uplighting to our DJ package as well! For no additional charge he even threw in a LYSY wedding sign that our bridal party was able to carry in to start the party from the start of the reception! Our guests loved getting to pull these back out on the dance floor later in the night too. He curated an excellent mix of music that kept people on the floor but also incorporated our taste of music! We asked all of our guests to submit a song they wanted to hear when RSVPing so we were able to give Tyler that list and he mixed them all in throughout the night. Tyler and his DJ assistant even went as far as to help us clean up at the end too! Tyler and his team went so far above and beyond that I can't thank them enough for making our wedding day so special. I hope to see him working the next wedding I'm at, book him while you still can before dates book up!

ded a form for us to fill out detailing the timeline and song requests and we reviewed it with him a week before the wedding. We expressed to him how important music is to us and that we didn't want any awkward or "dead" space. He continually assured us that he understood and had it covered. Unfortunately, after our experience with Tyler, we would not recommend him for many reasons, but here are the highlights: 1) Tyler did not play our specified pre-ceremony playlist. We poured time into choosing songs that were special to us and provided a spotify playlist link to be played as guests were seated. While having our first look, we heard a loud burst and feedback followed by the wrong music coming from the ceremony space, causing us to wonder what was going wrong. 2) He didn't have a cable needed for setup, so our ceremony musicians were not mic-ed making it difficult for guests to hear the music. What's worse? Our ceremony musicians were our siblings who had specially prepared a song for us. 3) There was no music playing when we were announced as Mr. & Mrs. into our reception. It was awkward as the guests' clapping died down and not having music playing sucked the life out of the moment. Concern set in but there was nothing we could do except hope for the best. 4) Tyler looked at his phone a lot, including while standing right in front of our sweetheart table making announcements. He advertises a personalized experience but it truly seemed like he had not familiarized himself with our order of events. 5) He started playing the wrong first dance. (I, the bride, had to run over to the DJ booth to remind him I had sent an email with a special song I recorded as a surprise to my husband and guests). 6) He played our closing song 30 min early (without telling us) which completely pulled us out of the moment and made us extremely confused. 7) When it came time for the last song, he picked a random one not on our list and never ran it by us. He could have run it by us (he had an assistant AND an apprentice with him behind the booth) but he didn't. When we booked Tyler, we emphasized that our wedding would be very formal and we needed it to be as polished as possible. Tyler assured us he was experienced with this, but each error stressed us out as the night went on. It was a horrible way to feel on our wedding day. Thousands of dollars and hours of communication went into our wedding to ensure it was the best it could be and Tyler Ross Productions significantly downgraded the quality. Our guests and our venue's staff noticed it. Since our wedding, we have pointed out these errors and Tyler provided a response with reasons including his laptop overheating and being dehydrated. These things are unfortunate, but they could have been avoided with backup plans and gatorade. Professionals should be prepared. After asking for a refund, Tyler venmoed us $250- less than 10% of what we paid him. Save yourself the headache and disappointment and hire someone else.
