Royal American Links

Our experience getting married at Royal American Links (RAL) was fantastic. Pros: Lisa is the best part of RAL. She runs events so well, and her guidance and detailed check-ins throughout the entire process were incredible. The venue itself is beautiful. They were in the middle of renovating and restoring different parts of the property, which we weren't aware of when we signed, but it didn't affect our day. They finished the facade repair on the outside patio beforehand, and it looked great. The hardwood floors, classic touches, chandeliers, and fireplaces give the venue a fairytale feel at a reasonable price point. My husband and I were trying to keep our wedding close to $10k; with a smaller guest count we couldn't hit that exactly, but we got close. Given how much prices have risen lately (tariffs and more), we're happy with where we landed. The food was great, the drinks were great, and the venue was spotless. Lisa made sure everything was set up before she headed out for the night. We had both reception and ceremony decor, and despite not being able to start decorating until 11am due to weather, we still got everything set up before the ceremony. RAL also keeps some basic decor on hand left behind by past couples, which is nice for anyone on a budget. They're flexible with outside vendors too. There's no required vendor list, which we loved. They also allow rehearsal dinners onsite the day before (we chose a separate venue for ours). 1. If you have guests who need ADA accommodations, plan ahead. There are stairs to navigate to the bathrooms and to the outdoor ceremony area. RAL provides golf carts, but you'll want to confirm placement, arrange a driver, and make sure guests know what to expect. 2. We arranged an open bar to cover all drinks on a tab, but that apparently didn't get communicated properly. We didn't catch it until dinner, well after cocktail hour, and had to open the tab retroactively so guests wouldn't be charged for the rest of the night. 3. The wedding party can't enter the greens for photos, so plan to stay on-site. Not a dealbreaker, just something to know going in. The bride, groom, & photographer can though! 4. The venue is a 15 to 20 minute drive from nearby hotels, which only matters if you're arranging shuttles. We used the Fairfield Inn's shuttle, but it's a single 14-person van shared with other hotel guests, not built for real wedding shuttling. Save yourself the hassle: book one of the nicer hotels in the area (similarly priced) and budget for a dedicated shuttle instead. 5. The onsite bridal suite is quite dated. It's located in the basement with no natural light, and honestly feels like a converted women's locker room. Worth keeping in mind if you're planning to get ready onsite as a bride. For Columbus, you won't find a better venue at this price point that covers so much and simplifies your planning. Coordinating 20 separate vendors sounded like a nightmare, so we loved finding a venue with in-house catering and kitchen, beautiful grounds, an onsite ceremony space, and tables/chairs/linens included. Great option if you want a DIY-style or low frills wedding without the hassle of building one from scratch at a park.

We had an amazing experience with RAL. When planning alongside friends, I quickly came to realize how lucky I was to have food, drinks, ceremony, and reception all in one package. Each staff member was attentive to all of our needs and made our day run smoothly, from the beginning of planning to the big day. Lisa was so helpful and an expert in making sure everything was perfect. Our pictures from the inside and out turned out beautifully. We were so lucky to have used RAL for our big day!
