The RSVP staff was great to work with. They understood early on that we wanted to do things a bit different and they played along with our vision perfectly. They helped us shape up 3 amazing food stations for the wedding that everyone loved. They were quick to get back to us with responses to questions as well as new ideas and last minute adjustments. Alexandra was very patient and accomodative with us. The day of, the RSVP team was closely paying attention to us bringing us food and drinks and were extremely professional with the guests. High recommend considering RSVP for your wedding!
We used RSVP catering for our wedding this year and everything was spectacular!! The team was communicative and helpful throughout the entire process. The food and rentals were all beautiful and delicious. I could not be happier with our selections! Our wedding was absolutely perfect thanks to RSVP!
We used RSVP catering for our wedding. Casey, our representative, was great to work with. She is very knowledgeable and responded to emails very quickly. The service we received as a couple was great. They checked on us throughout the dinner and got us anything we needed. However, we had buffet style and ordered 5x vegetarian plated meals only to later learn that none of our vegetarian guest had a meal and instead just had sides...nor did we get the vegetarian meal leftovers to take home. Which leads me to say...where did they go? Also we did not receive any of the mixers that we brought & paid for ourselves at the end of the night. Finally multiple bottles of liquor & beer were opened and barely used. I understand if there are multiple bars they would need one at each. But we only had 2 bars and 4 gin bottles were opened and probably only used for 1-2 drinks each, and now we can't return them like we had planned.
RSVP Catering was the perfect caterer! Our wedding venue recommended RSVP and we found that it was competitively priced for the area. They were a breeze to coordinate with - Alexandra and Casey were always prompt, professional, and friendly. RSVP has many menu options, making it easy to accommodate any dietary restrictions. Based on the tasting, we were able to tweak the preparation of some dishes which we really appreciated! We were initially nervous for the rentals appointment with Select Event Group - their rental partner - because we didn't have a strong idea going in for what we wanted to pick. However, they walked us through all the options, answered our many questions, and didn't rush our live decision-making at all. RSVP had worked with our planners and venue before so their coordination was seamless. On the day, RSVP went above and beyond! We missed cocktail hour due to family portraits and when we went to change before our entrance, the head server ensured that we had drinks and appetizers brought to the room, which we greatly appreciated since we hadn't eaten much up to that point. The serving itself was stunningly coordinated and a couple requests made by my parents were immediately executed. One of my biggest concerns was ensuring that guests with allergies had no issues and RSVP had that well under control. The food itself was delicious and many guests raved about it after the wedding. We can't recommend Alexandra and RSVP Catering enough!
Our venue gave us a list of vendors we could choose from for catering including RSVP, and I’m so glad we went with them. Their pricing was reasonable, and their food is amazing. I went in with my husband for the initial tasting, and we were so excited that literally *everything* we tasted was delicious. Their staff was friendly and accommodating, and answered all our questions about allergies and processes. We ended up going in for a second tasting to finalize our menu, and their team was super helpful with making sure we felt very confident about our final offerings. RSVP also partners with Select Event Group for rentals, and we also had a lovely experience going into their showroom and picking out our table settings. Again, their team was super nice, helpful, and patient as my husband and I discussed options in real-time. On the actual day, the RSVP team was the epitome of efficiency: the appetizers came out promptly at the correct temperature, the bars were quick to get through the queue, they turned over our ceremony space into our reception space quickly and beautifully, and dinner came out very promptly and efficiently. RSVP was worth every penny, and I’m so glad we had them as our wedding caterer!
Choosing to hire RSVP to cater our wedding was a fantastic decision. The quality of the food, staff and overall experience was top notch and exceeded our expectations. We hosted 165 people at Stone Tower Winery in May, and the food/drink/service experience was very important to us. The food turned out even better than we both ever could have imagined. 2 months later and our guests still can’t stop talking about it! I’m personally still dreaming of the short ribs. The team knew the venue well which helped with execution. There were many moving parts – passed hors d’oeuvres, bar service, a plated meal, table-side wine service, toasts, dessert, cake cutting -- and they delivered seamlessly. All members of staff were kind and attentive. Throughout the wedding planning process, Casey and her team were super helpful, hands-on and flexible. They helped us to build the perfect menu that met our/our guests needs and to make tweaks along the way. It also made it easy that they partnered with Select Event Group for rentals, of which they had a small showroom on-site. During our tasting we were able to test out various linens/glassware/dishware and visualizing it helped us land on our perfect tablescape. We worked with RSVP for a year and a half, from across the country, and they made it a breeze and really enjoyable. I highly recommend hiring them to cater your wedding!
We did a micro wedding at a historic venue that did not allow dark liquids. RSVP had the perfect solution, allowing us to do a simple champagne reception with cupcake towers. They even added fresh Berry options for the flutes and the guests are still raving about their delicious cupcakes!
We LOVED RSVP ! As a couple who is one part vegan (groom) and one part cheese-lover (bride), they made all our food and drink dreams come true. They have an extensive menu to select from (including tons of vegan and vegetarian options). We attended the group tasting and fell absolutely in love with their food, service, and staff. Our individual tasting was so much fun and of course delicious. Wedding day could not have been better. Everything was delicious and looked beautifully presented.
The RSVP team was a dream to work with - very responsive to email and changes. Right after the wedding ceremony before the craziness of the evening began the RSVP team brought us a tray of all of our cocktail hour foods and our signature cocktails for us to enjoy. They are truly the best.
Our experience with RSVP Caterers for our wedding was nothing short of exceptional! The entire team, particularly Casey, was incredibly professional and knowledgeable about our wedding venue, ensuring a seamless experience for us and our guests.
The variety and quality of the food options were outstanding, with a diverse range of delicious choices that catered to all tastes and dietary needs. We especially appreciated their flexibility in allowing us to switch out desserts for a late-night food option, which was a huge hit among our guests!
Working with Casey and the RSVP Caterers team was an absolute pleasure, and we cannot recommend them highly enough. If you're planning a wedding or any other event, RSVP Caterers will definitely take care of you!
RSVP was perfect!!! My husband and I were super impressed with the staff, the food and the professionalism. They made our vision come to life and they were always willing to help with last minute changes and also were willing to incorporate our suggestions. My husband and I are big foodies and RSVP hit it out of the park!!!
RSVP Catering was wonderful to work with! We selected them because we loved everything we tasted at our first tasting, but also because they made a good first impression during our initial call. It’s evident that the team members are very experienced, while also very personable and easy to work with. There are a few members of RSVP who were looped in on every email communication, which meant that at any given time there was at least one member of the team available to us. We worked primarily with Alexandra throughout our tastings, but communicated a lot with Natalie via email and communicated occasionally with Casey as well. Each of them was very professional and helpful. They are also very flexible, for example they were willing to serve outside food if we wanted to bring in our own dessert or late night snack. We loved absolutely everything we tasted during our tastings and couldn’t be happier with how the food turned out on the wedding day. The entire staff was very professional on the wedding day. They made sure there were hors d’oeuvres and drinks delivered to us throughout the cocktail hour and reception. We ended up having RSVP make our wedding cake as well, which turned out delicious and looked simple and elegant. To top it off we went home with leftovers due to a few last minute cancellations, so we got to continue to enjoy the food and our cake at home. I would highly recommend RSVP Catering for any wedding or event!
We hired RSVP catering for our wedding in September and they did a phenomenal job! From the tastings to wedding day, everything was amazing. They were wonderful to work with to make all of our selections for wedding day (both food and linens/rentals), the food was INCREDIBLE, and we're so happy we chose them for our event. Everyone was commenting on how great the food was all night long!
Working with RSVP was a fantastic experience. Their staff is top notch and will help you organize a perfect event. Our guests, foodies and non-foodies alike, were raving about how great the food was and we definitely agree. I think the crowd favorite was definitely the smoked tomato risotto and parmesan chicken.
A special thank you to Natalie for all her hard work on the day helping us get everything set up. Everything looked absolutely perfect and amazing. I highly recommend booking RSVP for your event.
Casey, Alexandra, and the staff at RSVP are so professional and pleasant! They were so patient across the endless email chains. They were fun to work with, from the tasting to the walkthrough at our venue. On the day of, we had such a tight schedule between cocktail hour and dancing, but the staff worked like a well-oiled machine and never missed a beat. We cannot thank RSVP Catering enough for making our special day all the more memorable!
RSVP was stellar. Everyone gave us rave reviews on the food. When we were choosing our caterers, I remember RSVP having the best experience as well. We went to a mock-cocktail hour and dinner to taste the food before choosing them. And then to choose our menu, we could invite our parents to be wined and dined and choose our final items. It was so much fun and really made a great experience going into the wedding!
I would highly recommend RSVP! We worked with Casey and Alexandra and the whole experience was a joy. We had a great tasting experience, they were always willing to make modifications to our food choices, and gave fantastic suggestions. We received many compliments on the food at our wedding, particularly the salmon. We provided our own alcohol (based on their ordering suggestion) and used their bartenders and non-alcoholic package, which worked great. Couldn't recommend them more!
RSVP is beyond amazing! My husband and I are "foodies", and we could not be happier with our overall experience. We began working with Martha for the proposal. Martha took the time to speak with us on the phone and listened carefully to all of our preferences and wishes. Sarah led our tasting and our big day. Sarah is professional, organized, and wonderful to work with. The food was delicious, service was amazing, and we were so appreciative to the entire staff for ensuring guests enjoyed the cocktail hour and reception. Sarah ensured that while we took pictures that we and our wedding party were able to enjoy our signature cocktails and appetizers. RSVP thought of every detail, including rentals with Select Event Group, and we truly could not be happier with how beautiful it all turned out. The RSVP pastry chef made a delicious cake and cookie table that guests raved about. I also can't thank them enough for their flexibility and attention to detail to ensure our guests with dietary restrictions had everything that they needed.
We highly recommend RSVP for any event, but especially your wedding day!
As we began wedding planning, we knew that the quality of the food we were serving was going to be very important to us, so we were very excited when we found RSVP, which had by the far the best food out of the half dozen or so catering companies we tried but at a more reasonable price point than most. We worked with Casey and Alexandra, who were both very professional, organized, friendly, and punctual. They were quick to respond to emails and answer our many questions. The two of them made the whole wedding planning and execution experience very smooth and had everything under control from start to finish. We particularly appreciated their flexibility when we had to postpone our wedding a year and greatly reduce our guest count due to COVID, which wasn't a problem for them at all. The entire catering staff was wonderful on the day of the wedding, and they took care to make sure that my husband and I were actually being fed, which was a nice touch. The food was indeed delicious on the wedding day and we got lots of compliments from our guests who said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had!
We worked with Amanda for our wedding day and are so happy with how it turned out! We went to one of RSVP's group tastings and loved Amanda's attention to detail, so we specifically asked to work with her. Closer to the wedding, we had our individual tasting which was really fun! She was a big help in coordinating the layout of both the ceremony and the reception. They helped us adjust to make our wedding more safe because of COVID - people loved the individually plated appetizers! We also wanted to implement signature cocktails at the last minute, which Amanda easily helped us coordinate and serve.
On the wedding day, we felt like VIPs because Amanda and her team would bring us food and drinks whenever we wanted. They were extremely efficient and helpful. And it was delicious! We are very happy with our menu choices and people are still telling us how good the food was!
We chose RSVP as our caterer after receiving sample menus from at least 5 other local caterers, and attending 2 other tastings. RSVP stood out to us as the perfect combination of excellent quality food, unique presentation, and reasonable price. We were especially grateful to have chosen RSVP after Covid hit and we were forced to downsize our wedding from our original indoor wedding venue with 180 guests to a small backyard tented wedding of 40 guests. RSVP (Maura in particular) could not have been more accommodating, even though the change meant that the contract value was less than half of what was originally expected. Maura personally visited our home twice before the wedding day to make sure everything would run smoothly, and was there on the wedding day overseeing everything. There was heavy rain throughout our wedding, but the RSVP service staff and bartenders were incredibly professional and flexible in dealing with the rain and mud under challenging conditions. We also really appreciated how Maura and RSVP were willing to incorporate all Covid safety precautions we requested, including a Plexiglass shield at the bar, face shields for staff, drink covers, and gloves. Our guests raved about how professional the staff were and how good the food was (despite being prepared in our house!). We are so grateful to have chosen RSVP for our wedding and encourage you to do so, too.
We were lucky to work with Casey for our wedding. She was extremely flexible and understanding as our menu and circumstances changed with the pandemic. The RSVP staff the day of our wedding was professional and made sure that my bride and I had everything we needed. We highly recommend RSVP catering!
Absolutely love this company and will recommend over and over again! We hired them for our wedding reception. Their food is delicious, staff is amazing and friendly, decor was beautiful. They made us so happy on our special day and so helpful with getting married during covid.
My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Casey and the RSVP Catering team. We opted for a less traditional, cocktail-style wedding, and RSVP executed it seamlessly. Our account manager, Casey, made the entire wedding planning process so easy. She understood our vision, answered every question we had and helped us think through the big logistical questions. And on top of that, the food was AMAZING and so creatively displayed -- we have guests still raving about how delicious and fun the food was. The waitstaff and other RSVP staff the day of were so professional and nice and helped make the evening flow perfectly. Our wedding was everything we dreamed it would be thanks to RSVP. We would recommend them to any couple, and in fact, we can't wait to work with them again for another event one day!!
My husband and I were very fortunate to work with Casey in the lead-up to our big day. Her familiarity with our venue provided great comfort, and she worked seamlessly with the site contact and our day-of coordinator to make everything go off without a hitch. Moreover, Casey showed incredible kindness and patience as we made some changes to our game plan fairly late, and even went so far as to bring additional tasting samples to our home just to make sure we could make the most informed decisions! Our guests were uniformly complimentary of the food. We are so grateful to Casey and the hard-working staff at RSVP who made our event such a huge success.
Not only was our food incredible, but the staff also had impressive professionalism and attention to detail. I had been warned many times that it's tough to actually eat day-of as the bride and groom, but the staff made sure we were met with a tray full of appetizers and champagne after the ceremony and immediately fed when we sat for dinner. Abbey and her team were all insanely sweet, responsive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The bartenders were also wonderful, quick, and handled our rowdy crowd really well :) Could not have been more perfect.
We did tastings at a few caterers in the area, but RSVP was the right combination of delicious, interesting food and price point that we were looking for. I really enjoyed the initial group tasting event to get a feel for their catering and meet our coordinator. Abbey did a fantastic job putting together the initial quote and then helping to refine it as we got closer with a second, private tasting. Our venue required a setup from scratch except for a tent. On the wedding day, everything was set up just how we wanted it and everything went incredibly smoothly. The food was great and the staff was wonderful. We definitely recommend RSVP for a wedding, especially one that requires a full set of rentals in addition to the food service.
RSVP catering provided the food for our wedding. We had tried three other vendors for food and finally decided on this vendor. RSVP topped the list after we got an opportunity to take home some of their food. We had a few select appetizers (chicken skewers, gazpacho), roasted chicken, salad with champagne vinaigrette (delicious!), shrimp, mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese (so creamy!). If you think mac and cheese is boring, just try RSVP’s version and you will change your mind! Our guests loved the food, they went back for seconds and there was nearly none left of the main dishes. The staff from RSVP had already worked with our venue and there were no issues as far as we could tell. We went with a buffet option and this worked out quite well vs. doing plating, guests got their fill. We highly suggest this vendor if you’re trying to figure out a caterer. Their price was mid-range and their food was delicious, some of the guests are still talking about it. We tried a few other pretentious caterers with fancy puree’s and under dressed salads, this caterer put the fancy in the right places and kept the main dishes rich and flavorful. Can’t ask for more! We may be back for catering for some future parties! Good luck with your wedding!
RSVP did an absolutely spectacular job with our breakfast for dinner menu. They were reasonably priced and very flexible with our requests!
Casey and RSVP did such a great job of taking our abstract ideas and putting them into action, at a more reasonable cost than most of the other caterers we spoke to. The suggestion of taco carts was awesome; our guests loved them! And the stations worked really well too. Beyond that, Casey was really responsive and a lot of fun to work with. The evening was executed smoothly with zero problems; all the staff knew what they were doing and they managed everything really well. Perhaps my only complaint was that I felt as though the invoices could have been itemized a bit better so that we knew exactly what we were paying for and how costs would adjust when adjusting number of people, tables, etc.
After our original caterer fell through 5 months before the wedding, my BM put us in touch with RSVP and what a gift it was! After speaking to a frantic bride, Maura was able to pull together a contract for me THAT EVENING so I could bring it to my parents. Their professionalism, communication, and honestly great personalities made it a pleasure to work with them. Our tasting was wonderful, and they wanted to make sure that every. single. detail. was thought of. They really wanted to make our day special, and I felt that. I would recommend them to any of my friends!
Fabulous food and such good execution of our wedding concept! We had a cocktail party style reception with stations and carts and RSVP helped us choose just the right amount and variety of food. Casey was wonderful to work with, and the results were great. The suggestion of tater tots to end the night was a fun touch as well :)
RSVP was so great. Everyone we interacted with was very nice and accommodating, and most important of all, the food was delicious. The appetizers were a huge hit, and the entrees including the gnocchi were excellent. But seriously, the appetizers were amazing. Best part is they were all one bite, because people don't want to be holding a plate, napkin, drink, and grabbing food all at the same time. Could not be happier with RSVP.
RSVP Catering was the best decision we made for our wedding! Working with Abbey and team was a seamless, stress free experience. We had so much fun planning the menu and doing the tastings. They accommodated our budget, made sure we had vegan options for our guests for all courses and provided excellent customer service. Their communication with us was consistenly prompt, they thoroughly answered all of our questions and they were transparent about all costs and really worked with us to create a perfect day!
Our guests were RAVING about the food! Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection from the apps and meals to the desserts and late night food! I strongly recommend RSVP for your wedding! Thank you so much for everything Abbey! It was incredible!
We worked with Abbey at RSVP and had a fabulous experience. She was very responsive, professional, calm, and attentive - I felt very prepared knowing we were in her hands as we approached the date! We did not have a wedding planner, and Abbey also provided great advice when we weren't sure which option to choose. She worked to understand what was important to us and delivered on that.
On the day itself, all went smoothly, progressed exactly as we discussed, and the catering team's service was elegant. We received many compliments on the quality of the food (Cliff Spa Chicken, Copper River Salmon, Charred Corn Ravioli) from our guests. I can't recommend RSVP (and Abbey!) enough!
RSVP Catering absolutely knocked it out of the park for our wedding! Martha and Moriah were wonderful to work with from start to finish. They helped craft a custom menu to our event, and the result was an exact reflection of what we wanted. We wanted our menu items to nod towards some of our favorite cities, and they developed a few new recipes in order to make it happen for us. All of our guests keep telling us how good the food was! Their attention to detail and flexibility was amazing, and they really went out of their way to give us exactly what we wanted within the budget we laid out for them. The catering staff on the day gave top notch service. We will use them again any chance we get!
We worked with Abbey from the very start. Abbey was SO responsive and helpful. It was great feeling like I didn't need to frequently check in on things.
Before we booked with RSVP, we went to one of their group tastings. We got to sample several h'orderves, a meal, and dessert. Many of the h'orderves we ended up using on our own menu.
We offered a beef, chicken, fish, and vegetarian option at our wedding. We heard nothing but good things about the food and the service. The catering staff was great! For dessert, we had mini pies -- great for the fall -- which were a hit with guests.
I used RSVP catering for my wedding recently and I am so glad that I did. First off, my original point of contact was Abbey and she is a big reason why I went with the company. We talked on the phone (I was planning from across the country) and she was so friendly and professional. She listened to my ideas on what food I wanted and put together an amazing proposal that kept my budget in mind. After that, she was always quick to respond and just generally made the process so easy.
And then the cocktail hour and reception went really smoothly. We had a complicated change over from the ceremony space to the reception space and they did it quickly and efficiently.
Also the food was delicious!
All and all, I am so glad I went with RSVP for our wedding!
My fiance and I used RSVP Catering for cocktail hour and dinner at our reception at President Lincoln's Cottage about 10 days ago and we can't begin to say enough wonderful things about the food, drinks, and about our point of contact, Casey.
The food was just amazing. From our initial tasting, all the way through to the lo mein that we gave our as a late night snack, the food on our wedding day was delicious. I know that often, tastings don't reflect what is actually served at the wedding (I totally understand it's hard to make consistently good food for 100+ people), but that was honestly not the case here. We were very lucky have RSVP work with us on each aspect of our passed hors d'oeuvres, bar setup, salads, mains, breads, ice cream bar, and then the late night snack (which we decided we wanted pretty last minute!). In particular, our guests raved about the pomegranate margarita, the short ribs and the fish they had for dinner, and the wonderful variety of ice cream!
We also got all of our rentals through RSVP (tables, chairs, linens, etc). They were wonderfully patient with us as we asked for everything to be priced out as we tried to get the best deal that we could for what we wanted. They were also incredibly accommodating of our request to do long tables vs round tables as though it fit better in my "vision, " thought it was a little challenging fitting everything under our tent.
On the wonderful, amazing, ever accommodating Casey, we really lucked out. Since over a year ago when we met her, right up until our wedding day, she was terrific and we honestly couldn't have felt any better taken care of (important when you have so many other things going on leading up to and the day of your wedding!). My finace and I don't miss a lot about the wedding planning process, but the main one is that we don't get to talk to Casey anymore!
All around A++ experience, wonderful time, and great memories. We couldn't recommend RSVP/Casey more.
We used RSVP catering for our wedding at Arena Stage in Washington, DC. Our coordinator was Casey Gardella, who was professional and extremely prompt in returning all of our emails. RSVP Catering was beyond helpful. We didn't have much decorations; it was mostly limited to pretty simple ceterpieces. Our wedding planner wanted us to hire a decorator, but that would have cost us thousands. I asked Casey if RSVP would just set the centerpieces (vases) out on the tables, and she said they could even put out more elaborate pieces if we gave them a picture of what we wanted them to look like. A friend of ours ultimately ended up setting up the centerpieces, but I thought it was really nice of RSVP to offer! They were also very accomodating with desserts. We brought in some inexpensive Costco sheet cakes and they plated things up very nicely.
For linens/plates/chairs...honestly, we didn't care at all. We went with the standard settings. Everything looked lovely. Our colors were pink and green, and I was a little worried things would look garish with pink/green tablecloths, but it all turned out bright and cheery--just what we were going for.
Regarding bar service, I've had multiple people tell me it was the best service they've ever seen at a wedding. My biggest complaint was that they did such a good job of refilling people's drinks that hardly anyone went up to the actual bar, which made them miss the dessert table! Not much of a complaint!
I doubt that I will ever need the services of a large scale caterer again, but I wouldn't hestitate to hire RSVP in the future. They were great!
Their food is amazing! My guests all raved about their meal. They accommodated gluten free, veterinarian, and shell fish allergies so well, everyone felt included! The staff was all very professional in their interactions from the wait staff all the way up to Maura, my event coordinator. RSVP is the BEST.
RSVP Catering was amazing! My wedding planner recommended them, and I am so happy we chose to go with them. Delicious food was brought around during our happy hour, and the staff was all so professional. The bar tenders that they hired were great as well, very professional, I loved not having to worry about anything, they took care of it! I cant recommend RSVP enough, they helped make my dream wedding a reality!
RSVP was spot on during every step of the wedding planning process and Abbey was a dream come true! I requested quotes from 3 caterers including RSVP, and Abbey was the only POC to return a quote and sample menu with green bean casserole, which I had specifically requested. Abbey was flexible and accommodating when I made requests and the food were perfect and everyone loved our signature cocktail of spiked eggnog. Thank you to Abbey and her team for making my day memorable and seamless!
We are so happy that we chose RSVP catering for our wedding! Our venue offered us five catering options and I requested quotes from all - RSVP catering was the ONLY one to provide me a detailed quote that included all the elements I wanted for the event. Maura handled our event and was wonderfully responsive throughout the whole process. She didn't bat an eye when we made several changes to the menu after our tasting and additions to our booking in the months leading up to the big day. For us, good food was a big priority - we've been to weddings where the hot food wasn't even warm and the buffet kept running out because the serving containers were so small (and the staging area was far away) - Maura understood my desire for tasty, hot, and a lot of food for guests. We were so excited when our plates tasted just as good as we remembered from the personal tasting we did. We received many compliments! The buffet was also set up very beautifully, which was an added bonus. I also consider RSVP catering to be a GREAT value. We had pre-ceremony drinks, four passed appetizers, a dessert cheese display, and a full buffet for 150 people in the DC Metro area for $13,000. Believe me when I say that it far surpassed the other quotes I got for value. The only issue we had was a miscommunication about the pre-ceremony drinks. We were planning a "winter" wedding for Feb but got surprised with 70 degrees! So we had planned on mulled wine and hot cocoa, but our caterer asked the groom if he'd prefer a cold drink option instead. He said yes, assuming they'd replace the wine with a sangria or something, but instead they replaced it with a non-alcoholic cider. After I found that out, I was bummed because I am a huge fan of having an alcoholic beverage option as a pre-ceremony treat. Just something to keep in mind if you are planning a wedding in a season with variable weather.
Marsha, Abbey, and the entire RSVP staff was amazing!!! The reason I initially chose RSVP was because after another catering company told me I would never see my passed appetizers, Marsha assured me that we would have a dedicated server post ceremony for my husband and our wedding party. Eating the day of was very, very important for me and wow they did not disappoint- that whole myth that you won't eat at your own wedding was totally busted! Our guests RAVED about the food and how delicious everything was!
Now here is the above and beyond part- because they really truly took it to the next level in 2 specific ways (other than making sure I got to eat). First: Although I do not personally have food allergies I had several guests with unique and sometimes challenging food allergies- celiac disease and soy allergies. RSVP made these things a non-issue and worked to make sure I could be at ease knowing all of my guests got a meal they knew was safe for them to eat. Second: We had a bit of a curve ball when my pregnant bridesmaid was induced the day before the wedding. Her husband who was a groomsman was able to come to our ceremony. When I asked RSVP if they could pack up 2 meals so the new parents could have a nice meal in the hospital they said absolutely and made sure everything was packed ready to go when the new dad had to leave.
Their staff was courteous, smiling, and always made sure my new husband and I had everything we needed. I can say without a doubt you will not be disappointed if you choose RSVP for your special day!
RSVP has my full endorsement.
Marla and the RSVP team did such a great job presenting to us, winning our business and delivering on their promise. They worked seamlessly with the venue and our other vendors to provide fantastic service all night long.
The staff was friendly, well mannered and professional. My wife and were made to feel like priorities. Marla ran a well oiled team that, provided great food, ensured glasses stayed full and graciously cleaned up a mess or two.
Thank you RSVP for all you hard work and your delicious food. We had a blast!
First off, RSVP had great food (their appetizers were fantastic) and was great the day of the wedding. There were no issues I knew of, everyone ate, and the only thing that was even slightly off was that they didn't bring around champagne flutes until the third toast (oops).
Although I didn't really have to deal with this first hand because we had a planner, their communication was not great. It took forever for them to get back to us with a quote, menu options, and kept pushing off our tasting until it turned out to be about 2.5 weeks before the wedding (first contacted 6+ months before the wedding). I wish they had been upfront about the reason they kept dodging tastings, that their menu changes a lot every season. They promised that we'd be able to taste on a weekend, but because they pushed back the tasting until September, they ended up being "too busy" for a weekend tasting.
We chose RSVP in part because they were one of the 6 approved caterers for our wedding and competitively priced (they gave us a discount). In all, I would recommend them if you have a planner or are not getting married in the fall and have time for a tasting in the winter (May/June/September/October were their busiest months).
We cannot say enough good things about RSVP. They were instrumental in making our wedding perfect-- and I'm not exaggerating. Everything went so smoothly that it is unbelievable. RSVP contributed to this in the following ways:
-Our representatives were responsive, respectful, calm, informative, and extraordinarily helpful throughout the process. They made me feel like I had everything completely under control when I was otherwise very stressed. They answered all of our many, many questions and made suggestions that I never would have thought of (e.g. getting 10-hour candles instead of the little votives we had planned to use; adjustments to the dishes in accordance with our vague concerns; types of linens; placement of tables...).
-The service staff at the wedding was the most impressive I've seen, and all of our guests commented on how attentive the staff was without being intrusive. It was white-glove service for a demanding group, all of whom were blown away.
-The food was insanely delicious as well as creative, special, and memorable. This wasn't your dry chicken breast and limp vegetables you get at every wedding; this was exciting, interesting, and, to quote my aunt who works in the food business, "luscious." I will be thinking about the maple-glazed pork belly for years (and I don't even like pork).
-The value was clear. We considered several caterers and RSVP offered everything we needed (food, alcohol, and rentals) at an excellent price.
I have never planned an event like this before (which I assume is pretty common for brides!) and I could not have done it without RSVP.
We LOVED working with Megan and her team at RSVP catering. Megan was incredibly responsive to our emails and calls; we had a number of calls with her to get our custom menu perfect, arrange for a tasting, etc. Also, my (now) husband and I decided that we didn't want to do a seated dinner; instead, we did buffet style heavy hors devours with a menu that was special to me and my husband. The food was spectacular. Everyone raved about the pierogies, poptarts, and fish and chips specifically. They set aside 2 plates for my husband and I at the very beginning of the night to be sure that we ate.
Their staff were fantastic all evening long and made sure the space stayed clean, the food stayed fresh, and the drinks kept flowing. They also helped with the set-up before the event. Honestly, the celebration would not have been so special without RSVP catering.
RSVP catering was fantastic to work with. In the beginning we did have some issues with no one getting back to us through phone or e-mail, but it was because they were moving around offices and were having some issues with their servers and phones. It was a hassle at first, but they graciously offered us a discount which helped in our decision to sign with them. The person we had been working with left the company about 3 months before our wedding and we were a little concerned because she had been wonderful to work with. We then started working with Megan and Marla who were great. Between the two of them, they answered countless e-mails and phone calls with questions and changes to what we wanted. They always aimed to please no matter how many changes we made. The food was fantastic. We got compliments all night long from the hors d'oeuvres to the meals to the dessert. We were able to meet the chef at our tasting and discuss with him any changes we wanted made to any of the meals. We did notice that something we had added to our contract about a week before was not made available the day of our wedding and while it took a few weeks to get it worked out, we were issued a refund. Overall, the food and service we received from RSVP, specifically Megan and Marla, were excellent.
My husband is an Executive Chef, and as such, it was always very important to him that the food at our wedding be excellent. RSVP delivered. Every single one of guests has made a point of commenting on how good the food was and how that is often rare at a wedding. We could not have been happier. They were really easy to work with as well, which made the whole process much more pleasant than I have been told it can be.
The food was amazing and every was very pleased with the options. I wish I could have had everything, or at least leftovers if there were any, b/c it was so good. Our guests asked for seconds of the wedding cake and they loved the ice cream sandwiches RSVP also included.
The only con is that the contract and invoices we received were never clear. We never knew how they came up with the totals b/c the costs were never itemized. For instance, we couldn't tell how much the chicken/veggie/beef entree's were to multiply that per number ordered to get to the food total.
RSVP Catering handled our wedding (and a number of other family events) and we wouldn't work with anyone else. Lisa and her team were professional and responsive and made everything so easy. Most importantly, the food was to die for, at least what little of it I was able to eat!
After reaching out to over 25 caterers in the Washington, DC region and then narrowing the choice down to 4 caterers, we could not be happier and more satisfied that we chose RSVP Catering (and specifically that we worked with Kim Harris at RSVP Catering). Kim and her staff at RSVP Catering went out of their way to work with us on every detail of the wedding menu and to try to get the menu down to our budget. The chef worked with us to get the flavors that we wanted out of certain dishes. The chef is very accomplished and knows tons of recipes! We were particularly impressed with the repertoire of menu items and during our tasting sessions, not one food item tasted like "industrial food" or "mass produced food", everything was elegant. Kim and I exchanged countless emails and she was always patient and thoroughly answer every single one of my questions. Kim did a walk-through with me a few weeks before the event and took the lead on being the go-to person for the wedding if the Venue manager needed any thing or if a problem arose. Kim ended up being a sort of a day-of wedding coordinator and she did a FABULOUS job. She thought of every detail and worked with us to adjust things during the event in a very smooth way (i.e. if we needed to move up dinner by 15 minutes, for example). Because of Kim and her staff's hard work, nothing went wrong the day-of the event - it was just perfect! Not to mention the food... we kept hearing our friends and family rave over the food!! We had to do a buffet (not sit-down meal) because of our budget, but Kim and RSVP made sure it looked elegant (used large white platters rather than chaffing dishes) and not like a huge buffet line. Also we wanted to do cheesecake for our dessert because we love it and we didn't want the traditional wedding cake. People went back for seconds on the cheesecake. I need to get that recipe from RSVP - it was absolutely delicious. It wasn't overly sweet or chewy. It was light and airy. Kim did a great job setting up the dessert buffet with 12 different cheesecake (one for each table) on different height cake stands, and each cheesecake had a flower topper, which looked really nice. The bartenders and staff were very nice and they helped with the set-up and break-down. They lit candles that we brought, they helped set up the screen outside for our outdoor ceremony, they helped clean up and organize our personal belongings afterward (including the liquor which we bought separately and the votives which we provided) ... in short, they went above and beyond. I would highly recommend Kimberly (Kim) Harris at RSVP Catering to any one in the Washington DC region who is planning a wedding or another event that needs catering. RSVP Catering even invited us to an event about 1 month prior to our wedding, where we got to taste all sorts of menu items (this was in addition to our personalized tasting). I forgot to mention that Kim worked tirelessly with me on the "look" of the wedding - from the linens to even printing out menu cards for each guests. In sum, RSVP Catering did a fabulous job at our wedding, and we are so happy to have made the choice to go with them as our caterer.
We had RSVP Catering cater our event and I thought the relationship started off great. Marsha Meltzer was very accommodating and responsive to all emails. As time went on, she became very rude and not fully committed to my event. I found her to be extremely pushy, and unpleasant to work with. The business catered to me completely until a few months before the wedding.
Me and my husband felt that overall the food was good; however, our issues are with the quality of service. Below are a number of issues we had up to and on the day of our wedding.
Menu Cards – we designed and purchased menu cards to be placed with each place setting. Marsha called me days prior to the wedding recommending against menu cards because it could be problematic for a plated dinner. Me and my husband decided to move forward with them regardless and explained to Marsha that we had already paid for the design and print. She said – quite rudely that she has been doing this for many years and she knows that this will cause nothing but problems. Against my request, we ended up with no menu cards.
Linens - moments prior to the ceremony I went to check in and see how the set-up of the reception tables were coming along. I immediately noticed the table linens and knew right away that they were not the linens I selected. I informed Marsha about the discrepancy, who responded that these WERE the linens selected and what she had written in her paperwork. I felt like she was calling me a liar.(What I still don't understand was how she got the linens right for our tasting but not at our event.)
Food - we ordered an intermezzo described in our proposal as: “An Intermezzo Course With A Refreshing Champagne Sorbet Garnished With Crushed With Candied Rose Pedals” – there was no garnish and by the time the guests received it, the intermezzo was partially melted, so it was more like a drink. The temperature was cool outside. In addition, we specifically requested and contracted that we would have our salad served in parmesan bowls - there was a strip of parmesan - no bowl. Very disappointing.
Dessert – there were complaints after the event from our guests that the plates of dessert were lacking. We were told that there would be enough for each guest to have 1-2 pieces per person. Most of the tables only had 1 piece per person, if that. That’s not what we agreed to.
Anniversary cake – due to our lack of confidence with RSVP, we were a bit concerned with our cake and wanted to make sure it was a duplicate of our wedding cake so we gave it a try. Once again, RSVP disappointed us - the cake was missing the fruit filling.
We have continuously voiced our concerns with Marsha and have escalated the issue to the CEO. (Pending his response). RSVP Catering made my experience very stressful and I regret choosing them as my caterers.
Lisa is great! Everything was well done!
We were recommended this vendor by our wedding planner and while the wedding planner was a complete mess, Lisa Havard at RSVP truly went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that our wedding would go off without a hitch. Her team arrived early for set up, they were incredibly detail oriented and made sure that we got everything we needed.
Their food quality is very average "wedding" food. Their appetizers I would say is where their WOW factor plays in. We got tons of complements on the appetizers and some said there were not enough. However, I have a feeling that had alot to do with people standing by the prepping area to get first dibs on apps. Everyone does that.
Overall, I would highly recommend Lisa and her team over at RSVP. They were incredibly professional and reliable.
My husband and I tasted 5 caterers in the Washington, DC area. Each experience was a bit overwhelming, as we had no idea what we wanted. RSVP had an open house, which I HIGHLY recommend. It gave us a chance to taste the food, without feeling pressured to answer questions we didn't have answers to. After the open house, we set up a private tasting and were fortunate enough to have Megan as our catering consultant. She is absolutely amazing. To be 100% honest, RSVP's food was delicious, but so were 2 others. Megan is the main reason we chose them, and I can't stress enough how important it was to have someone we trusted, related to, and worked so well with. Throughout the process, Megan went above and beyond what was expected of her. She even came to our house a couple of times to taste different foods/sauces, so that we didn't have to make the trip out to Fairfax. She gave me advice on food, linens, centerpieces, etc without pushing the most expensive items. She totally got my budget and my vision, and made every bit of it come true on our wedding day. Having her there on our big day was the best idea she had. After our ceremony, she had a glass of wine waiting for us. Everything in the reception was set up correctly-and I have only her to thank. She helped keep us on our time table, notifying us when to cut the cake, etc. I am truly grateful for Megan. The comments I received from the guests were that the food was above anyone's expectations, however the portion size was relatively small. Luckily we had a lot of passed hors' devours, or I'm afraid our guests might have still been hungry. Overall, Megan is truly amazing to work with, and RSVP's food is delicious. Just keep in mind their portion size, and you will have a fantastic experience.
