There isn’t enough that we can say about how wonderful our wedding was at the Safety Harbor Resort. From the minute we walked in for an initial tour to the minute our wedding weekend ended on Sunday, everything was perfect. The venue, the food (which is still getting rave reviews from all of our guests), the resort for our families to stay at for whole weekend…everything was amazing. The best part of all of this was Maria, our wedding planner. We couldn’t have asked for someone more perfect to work with, she made everything so easy and fun. She is the best at what she does and it shows many times over during the planning stage with her. We would get married at Safety Harbor a thousand times over.
We had a great wdding & reception experience at the resort as usual. We were married outdoors at tranquility garden, which was decorated beautifully with flowers & roman arch.
Maria and her staff were great stepping in when then previous wedding coordinator moved on, she made us feel like family. We have stayed there numerous times and our expectations are met each time. We highly recommend Maria and her team.
Gigi Hovancam, Catering Sales Manager was very helpful, he recommended some good vendors for us, and he went through the rehearsal and wedding party from the beginning to the end.

Safety Harbor Resort & Spa is a great place to plan your wedding if you are hoping to keep the planning process as simple and stress-free as possible. This is about as close as it gets to something all-inclusive with multiple ceremony and reception locations, great food with lots of options, a dedicated wedding planner, preferred vendors, resort hotel room, and spa amenities included in their wedding packages.
Jessica was our coordinator and she did a fantastic job. She was always incredibly pleasant (even when we were definitely being annoying) and repeatedly went above and beyond to make sure that all of the details were perfect for us and our guests and she was always happy to explain what options we had and help us make the best decisions based on our budget and what was most important to us specifically.
The hotel itself is not perfect, but the staff is very friendly and helpful, having access to the spa amenities right downstairs is awesome, and there are a lot of great bars/restaurants right across the street.
My wife and I had such a great time here that we plan to come back to celebrate our wedding anniversary at least every other year and several of our guests have said that they plan to return also.

When Mat and I got engaged we toured a few venues always leaving them feeling like something was missing, but when we came to Safety Harbor and met Jessica Farmer we were amazed and couldn’t have signed out contract sooner.
Jessica and the amazing team at Safety Harbor walked us through each and every step. Her communication was amazing, especially with my 1000 questions. We had booked the promenade deck, unfortunately it rained the day of our wedding, Jessica was so quick to help change the plan to an indoor backup space. Safety Harbor’s flexibility, customer service, and the food is unmatched.
The guest from our wedding were ranting about how beautiful their hotel rooms were, how wonderfully the grounds were maintained, the fact that they had access to the spa, and how nice every single employee was. Everyone truly seemed happy to be there!
If you are looking for a wedding venue, I highly encourage your to stop by. I wish we could give more than 5 stars.
We had our ceremony in the tranquility garden and it was magical! The staff went above and beyond to make sure our day was as perfect (and stress free!) as possible. It was a great perk to be able to stay on-site the night before and get ready there!
We were looking for a venue that would accommodate a small wedding reception for about 40 guests. We met with Jessica and we were instantly impressed with the attention she gave us. The Resort had many options to choose from and we picked the Philippe Room that was just perfect! The room and outside area by the fountain was beautiful and the food was delicious! It was a perfect event and very reasonably priced! I would highly recommend this venue for any event!
As a professional event planner I do not say this lightly, we truly could not have asked for our day to have gone any more perfectly than it did, and we owe a great deal of that to the team at Safety Harbor.
We worked with Maria and she was wonderful throughout the entire process. She was attentive to all of our communications, flexible on of our more outlandish requests, and made us feel like we were her own kids she was planning a wedding ceremony for.
The venue was beautiful and required very little decor be brought in to dress up the spaces we were in. The food was beyond phenomenal, even the next day our guests could not stop talking about how much they enjoyed everything on our menu. The banquet staff was extremely professional and interacted wonderfully with our guests.
The team at Safety Harbor were also very easy for our vendors to work with in setting up their load-in and load-out, timing to be in our rooms, and flexibility to set up the services they were providing us.
This resort has the feel of a destination wedding without the price tag that accompanies it. Our guests loved the resort and the small town Main Street feel that the area has to offer. A few even said they would be back for their own vacations because they enjoyed it so much.
There are too many great things about this venue to overlook it as a top tier option when planning in this area. The resort is family owned and operated and they truly make you feel that way when hosting your wedding.

They are prompt, knowledgeable and beyond helpful. Maria was the most amazing on our special day keeping me calm and up to date with weather updates. We got married on the outside terrace overlooking Tampa Bay. The weather was perfect and the venue was breathtaking. The service is spectacular. My guests said it was the best wedding food they have every had. The bartenders made amazing drinks and people did not had to wait. The day started and ended perfectly, I am beyond happy with my experience. If you are looking for a wedding venue in the Tampa Bay area, this is it!!! No need to look further. You won’t regret it!!!!

Maria our wedding coordinator didn’t do anything for us after the initial contract was signed. We tried to book an upgraded room 3 months prior to the wedding she said she handled it. The night before checkin, they did not have us down. After that night long struggle we finally had a room, but two separate beds. We walk in the room, and there were bugs and geckos on walls and ceilings, the whirlpool tub had nasty brown film all over it.
Maria was never available whenever we had questions. It was always I’ve got it covered, and could never get answers about any questions we had, or our vendors had. She always claimed she would or had reached out to vendors, but none of them ever heard from her.
She procrastinated on everything, and finally the Sunday before our wedding we got some answers. We spent an hour and a half on the phone talking the details over we had already confirmed. She tried telling us if there was a 30% chance of rain we would have to marry in the tent.
She also messed up on billing several times, so I had to look at every bill with a fine toothed comb. We had to have the initial contract redone 3 times to match what we were initially quoted.
Maria never told us she would not be at our wedding, we found that out from our design lady the Wednesday before our wedding. We finally went over our plan once again with Katie that night. We understand Maria had family issues, but those issues should not have blocked us off from having any questions answered for 6 months. Also at least have the decency to tell us you won’t be our coordinator, and pass the buck to someone who can handle the job.
Thursday Francois chewed my wife out about the location of the champagne wall, and that was all straightened out but he yelled at and over my wife on the phone about it.
We were told there were 3 wedding arches to choose from, but could never get photos, or floor plans until about 3 times of reaching out. Then they told us the floor plan was wrong, even though Jessica sent us that plan. The arch we chose ended up being damaged, again our design girl and husband had to fix on the fly.
15 minutes prior to the wedding someone asked my wife who was eating what at the wedding. I tried to give this info to Maria 3 times prior to this. I also had to email Maria multiple times the same information as she would lose it somehow.
Fancy That brought wrinkled linens, and our design girl had to use their manpower to iron that issue out.
The house linens we had requested outside for the cocktail hour were supposed to be black, we got white, the design team again had to straighten that out with the staff.
The design teams were not the planners, so why did they have to do all of this work in addition to what we hired them for?

My husband and I had the worst experience at Safety Harbor Spa.
The initial contract invoice for the cost of the wedding was wrong THREE times. We had to keep calling and emailing them to correct it before signing and paying.
It was like pulling teeth to have Maria send anything to us for example the arch’s they provide for the ceremony or floor plan for the ceremony
5.) The “coordinator” Maria called us 5 days before the wedding to go over everything when we tried communicating with her months in advance. A wedding should not be planned in 5 days considering we booked almost a year in advance and spent thousands of dollars for one.
The coordinator Maria lied to us multiple times and told us she was communicating to our vendors when she didn’t. That is why my vendors were texting and calling me several times the week of the wedding.
Maria tried to tell us we had to get married in our back up tent 4 days before the wedding because there was a 30% of rain. I’m sorry but we live in Florida and the weather changes on a daily basis and there is always a 30% chance of rain.
I reserved a room for Friday and Saturday night and upgraded the room to a suite months in advance with Maria and offered to pay the difference in price then. I called to confirm the day before we checked in and the room was not booked. They did not reserve our room. After talking to three different employees and Maria they finally told us they could put us in a double queen suite bedroom because that was only room available that was a suite.
— the next day Katie and Maria called me and lied to me telling me the room had been booked.
The room we stayed in was disgusting and outdated. The jacuzzi had a yellow/brown film around the tub, the room smelled, and had bugs and geckos.
I was told 3 days before our wedding that our day of coordinator Maria would not be there BY MY FLORIST.
Francois who calls himself a manger too yelled at me over the phone where everything was going even though I explained where everything was going 3 times to 4 different people.
2 days before the wedding they sent the final invoice which was wrong. We emailed them explaining they over charged us and they listed my florist as the wedding coordinator when we paid for the package that included the coordinator Maria that did nothing for us.
15 minutes before I was suppose to walk down the aisle they called me to ask if I had a list of what everyone was eating. My husband tried to give it Maria several times months in advance and she told us they didn’t need it.
After the reception when we got back to our room to spend the rest of our evening alone, they called my husband and asked what to do with some of the guests belongings and if they could bring it to our room. We were busy sleeping in our two separate queen beds obviously!
For three weeks after the wedding we didn’t hear anything from them. They didn’t ask us how our experience was or anything instead they over charged my husbands credit card with the final invoice which was never signed and the wrong total.
Our florist overheard Katie and Francois talking about how much Maria messed up our wedding, yet they never reached out with an apology or anything for the unneeded stress, and overall mess of our wedding.

Had rehearsal dinner and daughter wedding there October 2021. It was beautiful. Food was wonderful and accommodation and amenities were wonderful. I highly recommend this Resort for any events.
Maria did a great job for us at our wedding reception! She was very energetic and made sure that everything was coordinated correctly. She stayed true to her word and we are glad that we put our trust in her for our big day! We very much appreciate her assistance.
Planning our fifth daughter's wedding has been even easier thanks to the dedication and professionalism Maria Touloumis. In my work I have dealt with many event planners, and this wonderful lady goes to the top of the list. She puts her clients first, and went out of her way to make our daughter and her fiance feel confident and at ease.
In my meeting with her she was always knowledgeable, and totally up front regarding pricing and inclusions.

At our first meeting, She was honest and kind and when I started to crash because of my diabetes she was so quick to make sure I was ok and got me apple juice. Safety Harbor Spa is a must see on your stop to plan a wedding. The property is absolutely gorgeous. Please ask for Maria she is the best planner in town. Maria will help your wedding dreams come true. Maria is truly an amazing person! You will not be disappointed by going there.

We were extremely disappointed with the service at the safety harbor spa. They forgot to put us on the schedule for our taste testing. Lost our reservation for our room and tried to charge us a lot more money at the very end 3 days before our wedding. My husband who has ptsd and a brain injury had to set up the ballroom by himself the morning before our wedding by himself which we paid them to do. The wedding coordinator promised so much and did nothing we also had to clean everything up when the wedding was done which and couldn’t enjoy our wedding. They didn’t accommodate our wedding party with rooms said they didn’t have any but they did. It was an awful experience and we will never stay there ever and have tried to reach the owners but they clearly don’t care about reaching out to us. To all brides out there I don’t recommend using them you will be very disappointed.
First of all, my husband and I were scheduled to have our reception at Safety Harbor Spa (SHS) 3.27.2020. We started our communications and working relationship with Maria Touloumis, the wedding planner on site back in April of 2019. I have to say, Maria is one of the kindest and most comforting person both personally and professionally. She knows the ins and outs of the business as well as to the resort and it's amenities. Maria via SHS made everything easy- even in through a pandemic and with EVERY move date we had. We did end up keeping our original wedding date and got married in a local park, but we kept our date and did a vow renewal reception here since we missed having the larger celebration we were waiting for.
I am so glad we did. It was beautiful, the food was amazing, the staff was extremely accommodating. Maria also had great communication with allllll of my other vendors. everything was seamless- we just had to show up and the party was ready to go.
This experience could have been much more stressful if it wasn't for Maria and SHS. I highly recommend if you are getting married for first time, small or large wedding- and even if you are like us and finding a way to celebrate COVID nuptials- with the group you had intended to.
Also- I did not wear my wedding dress day of our true wedding but did on our wedding day. BOY am I glad I waited to wear that dress- it made all the beautiful places to take photos that much better. So many precious memories to keep forever!
My reception was held here on 3/14/21, and the moment I saw this venue, I absolutely fell in love. Maria was our planner and she ended up going far above and beyond to help us out! We had some snags the day before when it came to specific rooms that were booked by one of my family members specifically to make getting ready for the wedding much easier - we needed decent space to do hair and makeup in the morning, and while the booked rooms had been double checked more than once before the weekend came, we did not have the exact accommodations that were promised once the rooms were assigned. (The employees at the front desk at the time kept us waiting for rooms for quite a few hours and were less than helpful/polite and apologetic about it, but that is another story). Once Maria heard we needed to find a Plan B space for our stylists, she launched into action while we went to our rehearsal dinner, and by the time we got back, she'd managed to arrange a wonderful space in the resort all to ourselves for the following morning! She truly pulled through when we needed her most, and helped to make our reception so relaxing and enjoyable, with everything going smoothly after the weekend seemed to be off to a bad start. I would definitely recommend the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa for a reception!
We got married here on 3/7/21 and Maria made our experience incredible. The moment we met her we knew we were going to go with this Venue. She took about two and a half hours to show us around and go over details, and answered any questions I had. After we signed the contract, she remained so helpful, responsive, and kind. She is the reason we signed, and we are so thankful we had her to help us through the process. Everything was so smooth and painless, and even when I was stressing over nothing- Maria called and helped ease the stress. Thank you so much for everything. If you are looking for a venue in this area, 1000000% choose Safety Harbor. You will not regret it!
i recently had a weeding on jan 31 2021 and it was the most joyful experience I've had . All my family and all the guests are enjoyed it The weather was beautiful and if and not to mention the hotel was super clean. we had the ceremony outside and then we used the spring bowl room for the reception. and The coordinator Maria was like a mom to me. She helped me through everything that we needed . we're waiting on my either my nephew or my niece's wedding that we definitely going to book the place again. highly recommended.
When I first started looking at venues, there was some difficulty finding a place that would take our small group of about 20. While we didn't have the traditional big group we still wanted something memorable. Safety Harbor Resort was very accommodating and had great spaces even for a small group. Maria helped us get everything planned and made the process easy and ensured the day of went without a hitch. The food was fantastic and was enough to even fill up the biggest guys in our party. The servers and bartender were great and Francoise was very helpful as well making sure the food came out timely and looked great. We had a suite with a bay view for the two nights we stayed there and the room was awesome, great view. I was slightly worried it wouldn't feel like a wedding due to the size but everything turned out magical. Thank you Maria, Francoise, Leslie, and everyone else at Safety Harbor Resort!
My sister and her new husband had her wedding there June 21, 2020 . Maria at the Safety Harbor Spa and Resort went above and beyond anything anyone could imagine.

Our son got married at the spa, our wedding coordinator was Maria Touloumis, and Jessica Smith, did a wonderful job from start to finish checked on us often during the reception and cocktail hour. The staff was outstanding taking care of the tables and the guests, I would gladly recommend Safety Harbor spa to anyone who asked.
When working with the staff at Safety Harbor we were a little disappointed because our wedding coordinator was changed 3 times. The third one was changed 5 days before the wedding. Also when we did our food tasting a few months prior the food was delicious and plated beautifully, however the day of the wedding it looked sloppy and piled on top of each other. And some of the items we were supposed to get we’re substituted. I was surprised and wondered who I would talk to you about it but my wedding coordinator was not there and the banquet manager never introduced himself to my husband and I which made no sense because we were paying the bill.
We did get an apology the next day from our coordinator Katie.
My husband and I got engaged in November 2017, and started looking for venues in June of 2018 for our wedding in October of 2019. That being said, our first venue that we looked at was the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, and may I say, we were absolutely blown away by the beauty of the spa, and the packages that came with it (which included our coordinator, Maria). We immediately knew: This is the one. Maria was so down to earth, doesn't sugar coat, takes as much time as you need for any questions or concerns you may have, and goes above and beyond to make your dream wedding come true. She was very flexible with our requests, and made sure we were aware of everything going on and what we needed to keep in mind.
There was one moment where my husband and I started to fret that our wedding was going to be interrupted due to a festival hosted by the city behind the pool deck (which is where we were going to get married), and we were scared that our ceremony was going to be ruined due to the noise and distractions behind us. Luckily, Maria made some phone calls with the city to determine timing, and worked with us to push back our ceremony by 30 minutes to ensure that the festival would be done and cleared by that time. Everything turned out absolutely perfect, and we thank Maria so much for all of her help and patience. The only thing that could have been better at the resort was the reception desk. The customer service skills are definitely lacking, and some of our guests missed the ceremony because the receptionists did not help them get to where the ceremony was held, so we did receive multiple complaints from guests about this. Otherwise, this review would have been 5 stars.
Had my daughter's wedding at Safety Harbor on Sept 28, 2019. We had a great experience. The entire staff was amazing, and attentive to your every need. The food was delicious and plenty of it. The go to person and day of coordinator Maria Toulomis was a blessing. Absolutely loved her. She goes above and beyond to make sure things go the way you want them to! Thank you to all the SH staff . We made it a weekend stay at SH as well as lots of family and friends. Comfortable stay, although my only negative comment would be that a couple of the rooms smelled of mold/humid. Other than that, it was a great wedding!
AMAZING wedding day!!! My husband and I recently held our reception there with 100 guests and it was perfect!!! Maria was a pleasure to work with, she knows exactly everything you need and will help you EVERY step of the way. This venue is all inclusive (linens, chairs, tables, CAKE, wait staff, food, liquor, beer , wine AND day of coordinator) which makes life SO much easier. No other venues will offer this much for the price we paid. I expressed to Maria that I would like to decorate the night before if possible and since no one was using the room, I was able to. She even made sure the linen company came early and set up the tables and chairs so that I could decorate. I didn't hire any other coordinators nor did I feel the need to, Maria has it covered! Now for the food, the FOOD IS DELICIOUS! Everyone was saying that it was the best food they've ever had! Even my brother who frequently dines at fine restaurants in Tampa said that Safety Harbor Resort serves the best steak he ever had! We served Ribeye and Chicken Marsala, both were a hit! We chose Corey's Bakery for our cake and it was amazing! Get the citrus cake, everyone loved it! I can not say enough about Safety Harbor Resort and how wonderful the staff and overall experience was. If we could do it over again, we would choose SHR everytime! Thank you Maria and the rest of the staff, you all were a dream come true!
This is one of the best reception spots in Pinellas County. The property beautiful and the staff makes it even better with their hospitality and willingness to help with every aspect. I have had so many compliments about how wonderful the food and the reception was, and it was a direct reflection of the job well done by the staff. I would also like to mention, as someone who works and directs a lot of different events for work, the Spa has one of the most inclusive packages out there. Not only are the linens included(which was a must for me), but also a champagne toast and even the cake! Not to mention that you basically get a wedding coordinator as well. Someone that I want to mention is Katie, who is the Director of Group Sales and Catering, helped us through every step of the way. She was always there to answer any questions and was a joy to work with. I would recommend this venue to anyone for their wedding if they want to have a smooth and worry free event. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer because of how much fun we all had.
We recently held our daughter's rehearsal dinner and wedding at Safety Harbor Resort. We had many out of town guests, who stayed at the Resort for the weekend. The whole weekend was a wonderful experience. All our guests raved about the Resort, the food, and the staff. The catering staff was extremely helpful and checked on our group several times throughout the weekend. Maria is a force of nature! She thinks of everything!!!
There were other events happening there, but we always felt like we were the most important guests on property!
As a bride you don’t want to have to worry about anything on your wedding day. We chose to have our wedding here and it was worth every penny. The staff is amazing. The food was amazing. They focus on every detail. All of our guests had a great time and many even stayed at the resort. The packages they offer can fit any budget! I would definitely recommend them to anyone. I cannot thank Maria and the staff enough for giving me my dream Cinderella princess wedding!
So here is my complete wedding review. I would hands down have my wedding here again. Now I have OCD so some of the things I may mention might not be issues to other people but they were minor inconveniences to me.
Venue: our wedding was a Gatsby themed wedding. So the venue was perfect & beautiful. We loved that this was an all inclusive wedding
package. We wanted to do plated meals & usually that is more expensive than buffet however that wasn't the case here. What you pay per person (depending on meal choice and meeting the min) includes the venue, food, beverages, alcohol (liquor, beer, wine, champagne), tables, linens, chairs, & wedding cake (choice of 6 local bakeries). The venue sets you up on a payment plan however, we didn't like how their payment plan was so we asked to make equal monthly payments which they happily obliged.
Coordinator: when we first looked at Safety Harbor we had an amazing wedding coordinator, Jenna who literally helped me through some of the most stressful times of getting everything set up. I was devastated when about halfway to our wedding we found out she was leaving. We built a relationship with her & now we were getting someone brand new that was going to have to play catch up. Now here is where my OCD comes in. Because we hadn't established a relationship with Sandy previously & our time together felt a lot more like catching up. Sandy had to take on all of Jenna's 2019 clients plus any new clients so I understand her not being able review every detail plus she didn't have the added benefit of the conversations that Jenna & I had. So yes in the middle of planning a wedding it was often times stressful & frustrating for me to have to make sure that things that were previously discussed would be done however, I understand Sandy was just trying to make my day perfect. She is very prompt in email communication.
Food & cake: omg the food is amazing here, the service of the food is very professional & prompt we had so many compliments on it. The cake we choose to go with was The Artistic Whisk & I don't regret it. Their cakes are flawless, delicious & light. They’re amazing to work with & worth the delivery fee. Now my biggest complaint about all of this (on the service side) was the cake cutting. My cake served 150 guests. It was broken down to the facility how many servings were in each tier. I provided that to safety Harbor. I had also had made Togo boxes that held the cake & instead of it being passed out on plates they would be packaged Togo for guests to enjoy now or later. I had heard complaints that the slices were very thin. The next morning I was notified we had cake leftover. I was thinking we had Togo boxes leftover. Wrong. They used up all the Togo boxes and those were taken by guests but I had half of tiers left over! I had so much cake leftover that I shouldn't have had and I didn't want. Safety Harbor had set aside one of each flavor for us in the boxes & when I looked & saw how thin they were I was mad. My guests got very thin slices and I had enough cake for everyone to begin with. I understand having leftover of my bottom tier because it was tall & it would have to be cut in half to fit in the box but the rest of the tiers would fit fine. This was my biggest complaint.
Accommodations: were great we had the biggest suite so we could get ready. We had breakfast in bed & they had strawberries & champagne in our room waiting for us.
Maria was wonderful at coordinating everything for our wedding reception. She really went above and beyond for us.
I would recommend this venue to brides in a heartbeat. I told my husband if we could do our wedding again, I would.. and I wouldn't change a thing. Everything from the rehearsal dinner at the pool bar, to the ceremony in the tent, to cocktail hour in History Hall to the reception in the Four Springs Ballroom. It was all perfect. I can not say enough good things about Maria Touloumis. Exactly one month before my wedding, my catering coordinator quit... leaving me panicked. Everything I had discussed was with someone else, I was scared and nervous. Maria and I talked that night.. and she assured me everything would be perfect and she made she everything was. The food, decorations, planning.... was perfect. I'm thrilled with how our wedding turned out. Maria made sure everything was on time and perfect.

I was In a wedding this past weekend with the reception at this resort. The staff and Maria did everything and more to accommodate our party. The food was incredible, the venue beauty was breathtaking and the resort had everything we needed and more. Thank you for the most incredible weekend for my best friend, she felt like a princess!
I would strongly recommend staying away from this venue. My story is not all that different from MANY others listed here. When we toured, we met with Jenna who was absolutely amazing and gave me all the confidence that our event would be perfect. A week after we signed our contract we were informed Jenna would no longer be working there.
We were concerned, to say the least. Our concerns fell to deaf ears. It wasn't until reaching out multiple times did we finally hear back from Maria, who proceeded to lie and claim to have called and left a message. This did little to assuage our misgivings. After reading some other reviews about the venue switching Coordinators several times and not divulging necessary information about changes, as well as negative reviews about Maria specifically, we decided to take the signs for what they were and walk away from our $1,000 deposit to avoid the stress and aggravation other brides endured.
This is when things got worse. We were contacted by the Director, Katie, who was combative, rude, and unprofessional, going so far as to threaten that our negative review "would not be tolerated." I am happy to see we dodged a major bullet by walking away. A thousand dollars seems a small price to pay.
Thank you Maria in banquets for making our day a memory we will cherish for years to come. You and your staff were very accomodating to our needs and we never had to worry about anything. Everything was absolutely beautiful and people are still talking about our September 2018 nuptials. We appreciate everything you've done for us. Many Blessings.

We were planning our wedding remotely (we live in New York) and she took care of so many details so that we didn't have to. And once we got there, she made sure we had everything we needed and that our guests were taken care of. The night before the wedding, she actually wrote our place cards for us, just so I could have one less thing to do. Planning a wedding is stressful, but she just made us feel like everything was taken care of, and it was!
Also, we used Nini from Beyond Floral, who is also fantastic. We put a lot of decisions in her (and Jenna's) hands, and was not disappointed...everything turned out beautiful.
We were treated like queens and Jenna blended our hired vendors and her suggestions perfectly in the wedding. The ability to stay at the Resort made it a two day party for all involved. The food was wonderful and the aesthetics terrific. Dream Day!

We had our wedding there in June and it was everything I ever dreamed it would be. The venue had everything I was looking for from several beautiful outdoor ceremony locations to a beautiful ballroom. I was hesitant when touring afraid it was going to way out of our price range, but our planner Maria was fantastic and willing to work with our budget providing us with tons of different options. She truly made the experience from start to finish stress free. She was always just a phone call or text away throughout the entire planning process. She treated us like family and still does. The entire staff at Safety Harbor was a delight. Maria truly brought our dream wedding to life. Not only was the venue gorgeous but the food was fantastic and the salon and spa on site were such a plus. I can’t wait to go back for anniversary’s and vacation get aways. We spent a few days there before the wedding and day one I knew we picked the Perfect place- so relaxing and so much fun. Our wedding was absolutely perfect and it wouldn't have been without Maria's help. She was not only a venue coordinator, but a second mother and wedding planner to us. She always kept in touch to check up on me and took care of us no matter how busy or stressful her day would be. She made sure to accommodate for both parents, provided us the best service, and was both reasonable and understandable (especially if it came to budgeting). The venue itself was phenomenal. We had our ceremony in the tent, which kept us and the guests warm from the cold breeze of January. The natural lighting, drapings, and chandeliers gave it the perfect touch we were looking for. The Four Springs Ballroom comfortably fitted our 150 guests and provided plenty of room for people to dance/party it up.
Overall, we were very grateful for Maria and the staff. Everyone was friendly and always welcoming. The town itself was a small. quiet and adorable area. Even the resort guests and locals were all friendly. I don't think our wedding would have went as smoothly if we didn't pick Safety Harbor Resort & Spa.
This venue is amazing! We had the pleasure of working with Maria T., she was so helpful and always there when we had any questions or concerns. We met with her a few times before our final day and it was always a pleasure and she never mind how many times we needed to meet to go over something or see something. The venue is older and I was honestly not sure how it would turn out on our big day but Safety Harbor and Maria made it all come together amazingly. I would of never imagined our big day turning out so beautiful and perfect. We had so many compliments on our reception room (the main ballroom -Athena Room). I would get married here over and over again. My husband and I say how we wish we could do this day over again. We had a destination wedding at Safety Harbor Resort and Spa October 2016.
Our experience started off a little rough, we went through a couple different wedding coordinators which caused some anxiety but once everything settled we were connected with Maria Touloumis who was amazing. She was always available through email or phone and was quick to respond which eased a lot of the anxiety I had.
Since it was a destination wedding we didn't get into town until the week before the wedding. Maria spent HOURS with us, walking us through everything days before the wedding so we knew it would go off without a hitch. Even with little glitches that popped up days before the wedding (as they always do) she was in constant contact with us to keep us updated and worked hard to make our wedding day what we wanted.

I recently had my reception at SHRS and my entire experience was an absolute dream! Katie was amazing. She was so attentive, kind, and made sure everything was exactly the way I wanted it and more! The Four Springs Ballroom is the way to go, my guests were so impressed and everything was beautiful!
As the photographer and cinematographers, we have the opportunity to work with many different venues. The one constant need for me and my team is to have a wedding coordinator that we can communicate with and who can help us achieve our overall goal of capturing a beautiful wedding. Even facing impending thunderstorms and anxious family members, Maria Touloumis remained calm and professional! She was always making sure that my team and I were okay and had what we needed. I know this was not an easy task for Maria, as the original wedding coordinator was out sick, and Maria was coordinating two weddings simultaneously. She was flawless in her approach, and my team and I look forward to an opportunity to work together again.
We had our wedding here on May 6, 2017 and it was beautiful and perfect! We literally couldn't be happier! Maria Touloumis was our coordinator and she helped us with everything from food and linen choices to dealing with the vendors and their set up times/questions. She helped decorate exactly how we envisioned and made sure everyone knew where to be and when to be there. We had the best time! Our wedding party booked 40 or so rooms at the resort and stayed anywhere from 2-5 days which was perfect because we took over the pool and piano bar and walked to some amazing restaurants and bars! I had the best time and I would recommend any bride to use the resort.
Our family recently hosted a Bridal Shower, Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding Reception all at the Safety Harbor Resort & Spa. All three events were great. The food was fresh & delicious (different menus at each event). The hotel itself is gorgeous inside and out. Picture perfect. The event planner, Maria T is very knowledgeable and professional. She guided us through the process and put us all at ease. Maria is amazing. Everything went according to plan and everyone was able to relax and enjoy. The outside tent was my favorite local, though there are several settings to choose from. We were all very happy with the experience.

When my husband and I were looking for our wedding venue we had only 2 things on our must have checklist - an outdoor space and a reception room that wowed us. As we were looking on the knot for ideas we came across Safety Harbor Resort and Spa and the many wonderful reviews about Maria - who seemed like the fairy godmother everyone needed for their wedding. Well now I am going to be one of those people giving a wonderful review about SHRS and Maria. My husband and I have now been married for 3 weeks and we still get compliments that it was one of the best weddings our guests have attended. This is all due to Maria and her assistant Jenna and all the wonderful catering staff. From the minute Alex and I met Maria we fell in love with her and the resort. There is a charm that the resort has that is unlike any other - the decor, the smells they are all entrancing and make you feel like you've been transformed in time. I cannot also say enough amazing things about Maria. She was a god sent to us - there every step of the way. Maria was more than just a day of coordinator, but took on our wedding and made sure we were getting everything we wanted, keeping us on schedule and talking down the nerves when I felt like I could combust from everything I had to do. She truly made sure our vision came true and was extremely attentive to our needs and made sure everything ran on time with our vendors and bridal party the day of the event. If you are looking for a beautiful venue with both indoor and outdoor spaces and a staff that will care for you like family you need to go to the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa and see Maria! Our wedding and reception were held here and everything was absolutely BEYOND my wildest dreams. Our ceremony was on the Bayshore Terrace and the backdrop for it with the water and the arch and the decor we had was amazing. Our reception was a Brunch style reception and held in their tent. The food was INCREDIBLE - everything tasted SO GOOD! The service we received during our entire event was very professional and our guests were well taken care of. Maria Touloumis was our planner and went above and beyond to make sure this day was everything I could have hoped for. You will NOT be disappointed with this venue. Our room block rates were reasonable and the rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The view from our suite of the bay was gorgeous. I cannot say enough about Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. If you want your dream wedding, THIS is the place to go (and I've been a wedding planner over 20 years so trust me on this one ). BRAVO Safety Harbor!
I recently got married at the resort and had to put in my long opinion of this beautiful place! At first I was weary because I had to go through at least 4 coordinators!! Yes, i said four. The struggle was real and I had to deal with unpleasant people who couldn't and wouldn't do their job. As a client/bride, I was not getting treated properly & had to go through the GM of the resort to sort out the awful service! If you want the full story, please contact me:) Once that was over, I was appointed to Jenna & Katie. Two angels who ACTUALLY DID THEIR JOB. and they were AMAZING! If you want a beautiful wedding, go to them!! They took of everything & made sure the day and night ran smoothly. The resort was a perfect place and location to have my wedding & i was so happy with it. I would give this place a 2/5 stars because of what me and my family had to go through from the start and how we were treated. But in the end I was thankful certain people turned it around and would give it a 4/5 stars.

You could not ask for a better person to help you plan your big day. From the first visit to the spa to the last few minutes of the wedding, Maria was there to help with every phase of the planning process. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Maria and her skills as a wedding coordinator. The food was delicious, the reception hall was beautiful and the professionalism from Maria is top notch. I would recommend The Safety Harbor Resort and Spa for weddings or any event. It is a great place to stay and pamper yourself too. We had our wedding at Safety Harbor Resort and Spa in November of 2016. The resort and Spa was beautiful but the planning of our wedding experience was a nightmare. We had 3 different catering managers within about 7 months and didn't receive phone calls back our guidance. One loud lady whom introduce herself, as Maria (i believe) a Sr Catering Manager was aggravating and unprofessional. One catering person would tell us one thing, then the next one would tell us something different, then the third one wasn't there long enough to tell us anything. The God sent us an Angel. Ms. Beard, clarified, explained and work with us to try to rectify all of our doubts. When we had questions, she answered. When we called to vent or was worried about our wedding, she listened. She was that light at the end of the tunnel. My family and I really enjoyed my wedding after we thought it would be a disaster. The food and the banquet staff was amazing, especially this white haired guy (from the waitstaff)that catered to us throughout the evening. Although my initial experiences was the worst and ended up losing do much weight from stress, in the end wonderful people came together to make my wedding night truly amazing and special. So any one who choose this beautiful historical venue, beware of your catering manager, coordinator or whatever they're called, because my wedding was almost ruined until we met Ms. Beard.
The venue itself is BEAUTIFUL. We are lifelong residents on Clearwater, FL and had dreamed of our wedding being at a historical hotel such as Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. However, the beauty of the venue is probably not worth the terrible customer service we received. The accounting department consistently did not bill us according to the schedule listed on our contract. We had to e-mail or call days after each payment was supposed to be charged to figure out if they were going to charge us. We had booked our venue in December of 2015, for our wedding in December 2016. In September 2015, we were called by our wedding coordinator and told we had been double booked. We refused to move and requested a meeting with the manager, Ajith Dissanyake, we told us that the room was actually double booked, but in fact the hotel had lied to us, and just wanted to move a corporate event into our room since they were a larger party. Mr. Dissanyake was EXTREMELY rude to my parents, my fiancee, and myself during our meeting, refusing to acknowledge that he had intentionally tried not to uphold our contract. We had to threaten legal action in order to contact Mr. Touloumis, the owner. Mr. Touloumis was extremely apologetic, did offer us a complimentary weekend, and made every attempt to fix his staff's mistakes. After this incident, we dealt with Katie DeMambro, and Zandra Beard who were absolutely AMAZING. Not enough good things can be said about these women, and truthfully, if it was not for them, we would have looked to change venues before our wedding, (If you choose to book here, we would highly suggest asking for Zandra as your wedding coordinator). Zandra and Katie saved our day, but if it was not for them the issues at the resort would have continued. Reservations was an absolute nightmare, and trying to book our suite we were told that we would need to change rooms during the three nights we stayed there. Luckily, we had to resort to Katie having to fix this issue as well. While the resort is beautiful, our wedding day itself was perfect (thanks to Zandra and Katie), and the food is PHENOMENAL, it may not be worth all of the other hassles to get married here. I sincerely hope the resort staff turns it around because I would hate to see such a beautiful and historic hotel go downhill the way I predict it will if this poor customer service continues.
My husband and I were searching for a venue to get married at. We went to a few different places to get details about the venue and pricing but we were not really “in love” with those venues or the pricing. We stopped by Safety Harbor Resort & Spa without an appointment and Maria Touloumis stopped what she was doing to show us around and give us details about the resort. Once we toured the resort and had a chance to go over the details we were sold on this venue. Maria T made us feel like family from the start. She helped us along the entire planning process and was even the day of wedding coordinator. I did not have to worry about anything. They even set up the ceremony site and reception room with the decorations, favors, etc. The food at my reception was amazing and everyone is still raving over it.
My wedding day was a dream come true, it was a fairytale wedding. I cannot say enough nice things about Maria and Safety Harbor Resort! We will be going back every year to celebrate our anniversary!

This place is absolutely beautiful! The grounds are gorgeous, the rooms have a historic charm and the staff treat you like royalty! Maria touloumis was our catering manager she made sure our day was perfect! She made sure our vendors stayed on scheduled and that our guests were where they needed to be. Her focus was always on us and making sure we were happy and taken care of. Our day was perfect thanks to her!! I had my hair and make up done on site at their spa and Paul Oliver made me look beautiful! His professional touch made my husband gasp as i walked into the ceremony room. We are so happy we chose safety harbor resort as our venue and would definitely recomend them for sure!!!!

I am so glad I chose Safety Harbor Resort and Spa as the venue for my wedding! I had Maria Touloumis as my wedding coordinator, and she was absolutely amazing. She was so helpful, attentive, and supportive with every decision I made. She designed a custom wedding package to fit our every need without compromising our budget. Maria, as well as all of the Safety Harbor Spa employees made me feel comfortable about choosing this location for my wedding celebration. I definitely recommend this venue for any and all occasions!
Our wedding day was absolutely magical in the four springs ballroom at the Safety Harbor Spa!! Maria went above and beyond to coordinate with our vendors and make sure everything was set up perfectly. We were so happy with the efficient and friendly service and how beautiful everything turned out. The guests loved the hotel and the ballroom and had nothing but compliments. Thank you Maria for all of your help to make our day perfect!

I had my wedding reception at the Spa in the four springs ballroom. This was the best decision I made. Maria Touloumis was the most amazing person to have plan my reception. I had no worries at all because of her. She was so efficient, organized, honest, generous, professional and just all around AMAZING! I highly recommend the Safety Harbor Spa and Maria for your reception. I had the most amazing experience and Maria gave me everything I ever wanted for my special day. I wouldn't have changed anything I was a worry free bride and the reception couldn't have been anymore perfect! Everything was so beautiful and went so smoothly! Thank you so much! I give the universe of stars for a rating! Five is not enough!
We are still searching for our venue and this place is NOT IT. Please stay away if you are working with John. He has no filter and he had said very rude comments about Vegans and how he can't stand them since they are picky( I am by no means a Vegan but i have friends who are) He would just make jokes throughout our whole tour. It looks like some other people noted Maria was good so if you go to this place work with her. We also didn't like the resort as many people were walking around in robes that kinda put us off right away. It has a very old victorian decor which is not our style but if its yours you might like this place. And its good for out of town guest since they have rooms on site. All i can say is stay away from John Please work with someone else here.

happen to have a dislike of the taste of items as well. My statement was although some allergies are not life threatening, we always will honor those requests without question. Since I deal with many hundreds of people for weddings, sites, corporate affairs, networking and training, I make it a special point to always smile and remain upbeat so sometimes I do not appeal to a few people but I do the best I can.

My husband and I recently got married at the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa and we could not have been happier with our venue selection. It was the best decision we could have ever made. Let me start off by saying I was an out of state bride, where the majority of my wedding planning was done from afar. For someone who is looking for the perfect wedding venue that is with you every step of the way to help you from start to finish, hands down it is The Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. Most importantly, I don't think our wedding would have been as perfect as it was if it wasn't for Maria Touloumis, the wedding coordinator. She was pretty much the best thing that could have happened to me and I will forever be thankful that she was there with me on my special day. We completely fell in love with her the first moment we met! She is kind, professional and always goes above and beyond! Also, trust me when I say, she knows what she is doing. From that moment on, we knew that we had made the right decision to have our wedding weekend at Safety Harbor and Maria was always there by my side throughout the entire planning process which made everything so easy! Nearly half of our wedding guests were all from out of town and stayed at the resort. The entire staff was amazing and the hotel accommodations were very nice! We had our reception in the Four Springs Ballroom and it was absolutely gorgeous. The food exceeded our expectations! Not only was it amazing, but there was such a wide variety of menu choices that it allowed us to uniquely personalize our wedding menu. Maria again was extremely helpful during our tasting and made it such an enjoyable process! One of the great things about this resort is that they will make it a priority to take care of you on your wedding day. They are there to make your day go smoothly and beautifully so that you don’t have a worry in the world. Maria sincerely cares about her couples. I truly felt on my wedding day she was my fairy godmother!
Our daughter's wedding was just beautiful! This venue offered the most elegant settings we had seen in this the area. Everything was top notch. The accommodations for our guest were posh yet very affordable. We received many compliments on our choice of venue.
We wanted to have a FL wedding, but not at the beach. The Safety Harbor Resort & Spa was a perfect choice for us. The Spa overlooks the waters of Tampa Bay, with downtown in the distance & is nestled in cozy downtown Safety Harbor. Shops and restaurants in walking distance. Guests were able to attend our ceremony, reception & stay the night all at the same venue. John Ward, wedding coordinator was a joy to work with. Very responsive & accommodating. The tranquility garden was a beautiful setting for our ceremony - the spa even allowed a fire truck to pull up back (my husband is a firefighter) for wedding party pictures! The Four Springs Ballroom was a breathtaking choice for our reception. Hors d'Oeuvres & dinner were both delicious and the staff throughout the facility was wonderful. I would highly recommend Safety Harbor Resort & Spa. Beautiful FL scenery that your guests will be talking about for years to come!
