I got my hair done at Salon Essentials at the end of June, and it was the worst experience.
I went in and showed the stylist a picture of the cut and style I wanted, and I was shocked at the end of the appointment by how different it was from that. However, when I got home, I discovered she had styled my hair in a way that hid the fact that my face-framing pieces had been fried completely off! I was horrified. She did not speak up or say that these pieces had fallen out.
My hair had some previous color in it when I arrived and the stylist knew this, so she did two test strips. She told me that the color lifted perfectly fine and we could go ahead with the highlights. I paid for the extra conditioning treatment, but my hair is still extremely brittle and dry.
I called the salon to speak to a manager and/or the owner, and when I asked for a refund she informed me that it was against their policy, but I could come in to get my hair redone. I did NOT want them to touch my hair again. She told me I could email the salon at their Gmail and send them the pictures to review, which I did, and said to call the following Monday to speak to the owner. On Monday, their staff lied to me saying the owner wasn't in the office (she was), but said she would call me back if I left my number. That never happened.
My hair fried off. I did not get my money back. I have to live with her mistake for months if not a year now. This was a terrible experience. Please know that if they respond to this review--what I’ve said is true and I will not be coming in to get my hair “fixed.”
I have included pictures.
The makeup was done by several different girls over a 2 hour period of waiting and switching out girls. We had our scheduled time but they kept leaving for other clients. The makeup was of cheap quality and did not look professionally done at all.
The hair was decent. Nobody's up-do lasted more than 2-3 hours but it looked ok while we were at the salon.
Salon Essentials is a very professional and enjoyable salon to spend the morning of your wedding getting ready! My girls and I enjoyed our experience and everyone looked beautiful. Styles were natural and complimentary of each individual. We were in and out of salon within 2 hours, that includes 10 hair styles and 6 make-up applications. Amazing!
My hair was going to be pretty complicated, because I had hair extensions and wanted a certain look that I could not find anywhere in magazines or websites. I had my run-through with my stylist (Jill) and she has had experience with extensions before so I felt much better. After explaining the look I wanted, she went for it- and she NAILED it! My hair was perfect!! It also held up all day and nobody knew the extensions were there because I wanted them for extra body and a little length, so we made sure not to make them too obvious and she just did it perfectly. I had my hair off to one side, but she found a way to make the other side not look boring and it just looked beautiful. She also did my makeup and it was great how she listened to me and understood what colors complimented my eyes the best. Then, she even did two other bridesmaids' makeup that were setting there with me, and they didn't even have appointments so she made time for them out of her schedule. She is very talented and great at what she does- I recommend Salon Essentials to every bride or anyone that needs an updo/style!
