She is very good at circling back to confirm topics discussed at a previous meeting - we were very impressed and thankful for her incredible ability to notice when we were unsure about a decision. She always made sure to give us some time to make a solid decision then set a specific deadline to discuss it again. Watching her work with other vendors was an absolute joy as well. It is very clear how well established she is in the community and it was super helpful to us that she knew so many different vendors personally and was able to confirm how great it was to work with other people. Looking back at the past year spent with Sarah we think about how caring, kind, pleasant, flexible, personable, professional, and just overall delightful she is as a person. I can confidently say that choosing Sarah to be our coordinator was the best decision I made in my entire wedding process. You can tell by the amount of time and details she dedicates to each moment that she truly wants the best day for her bride and groom. Anything that we even mentioned wanting, she found a way to make it happen AND worked with our budget. Sarah was the most helpful planner I could have asked for. Very knowledgeable in her profession. We did a reception in Tombstone, AZ and she had the whole reception set up before we got there. -- Your Search Stops Here! -- My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Sarah Detmer for our recent wedding, and we could not be more pleased with her help. We felt a connection with Sarah almost right away, during our very detailed initial consultation. In that meeting, we felt she exuded confidence and professionalism, while also being a down to earth person who you would be happy to go have coffee with. She has a great knowledge of the process and believe me - you don’t want to try managing this event on your own. It was only when we were part of the way through the planning process when my wife and I looked at each other and laughed - realizing that without Sarah’s help, we’d be in way, way over our heads. Fortunately, Sarah will help guide you and be with you every step of the way. One of our challenges was that we live in a different state. Despite this, we were able to meet with Sarah over Zoom (or simply over the phone occasionally), and also communicated regularly over email and text. Whenever we had a question, Sarah was super prompt to reply. She always kept us on pace, gently reminding us that X needed to be done by such-and-such date, asking if we had completed Y, and pointing out that the next step would be Z. Even though because of circumstances out of our control, we always felt about 2 steps behind where we’d like to be, Sarah helped keep us calm and ensured that we came in for a smooth landing by the final day. One of the areas that Sarah was able to really help was with the vendors. She knows “who is who” in Tucson, and helped recommend vendors such as the DJ and photographer, or even who to contact for different chair coverings (which she took care of for us). She also ensured all of the vendors were on the same page with every detail. Apart from choosing the particulars (like floral colors, cake flavors, etc), Sarah took care of the rest - such as when the vendors needed to show up and where the flowers/cake/etc needed to go. For the day of, everything literally went without a hitch (except for us). We had worked on a timeline together, and she listened to our feedback and helped incorporate our wishes, such as a longer cocktail hour, while pointing out limitations (e.g. the sun still sets at the same time, so we might want to start the ceremony a little earlier). I’ve never been to a wedding where something crazy didn’t end up happening on the day of - at least behind the scenes - but in our case, it really didn’t! I think this is in large part to Sarah’s attention to detail and preparation with the venue. So, overall - if you are still reading this - definitely stop looking for other coordinators right now, or at the very least reach out to Sarah and talk to her! In our experience, you’ll be really, really glad you did. It was one of the smartest moves we made in the entire planning process.

Sarah was so easy and fun to work with. I hired her as my day of coordinator and she immediately took all of the stress off of me. She helped in so many ways finaling my vendor list and just making the day the best day ever. If you only hire one vendor, make it Sarah.

Sarah was absolutely amazing throughout the whole process. From beginning to end she kept me so organized and reached out to vendors and I just did not have the time and started feeling overwhelmed as most brides do getting closer to the date. Sarah has great rapport with many vendors and venues Which I found helpful because before her, I tried reaching out to vendors and they took forever to respond if they ever even did. With her, their response time was instant and thankfully we were able to get things done through her networking. I want to thank Sarah for such a smooth wedding. I cannot highly recommend Sarah Detmer enough! I just had my wedding at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon. My husband and I were considering a lot of factors before deciding on a wedding planner, but the second we had our initial meeting with Sarah, we were sold! She is so positive, funny, and knows the industry very well. She didn’t make us feel rushed during the process. I had very specific requests for the wedding — incorporating my cultural heritage through decor, entertainment, and food, supporting local and small/family owned businesses, supporting AAPI businesses, etc. Sarah jumped on learning more about my cultural values so she could know how to make sure everything ran smoothly. I also was pretty adamant on some budget line items for decor and other things, and Sarah respected them and did her research within the parameters. Leading up to the wedding, there were tons of last minute changes but I never felt stressed about them. Sarah always had a back up plan and knew how to make sure things keep moving. We had our dream wedding and I know a large part of it was to Sarah running around behind the scenes to make sure everything was taken care of. Sarah was a phenomenal wedding planner. She went above and beyond for us. She was responsive to all of our calls/messages and willing to work with our needs, budget and preferred vendors. She is highly knowledgable about the resources within the community, the wedding industry as whole and was open to giving recommendations that were quality. I hired Sarah for month of and day of coordination for our wedding at the Tanque Verde Ranch. After several Covid related delays and complications, I needed an expert to help me navigate the final stretch of the planning process. I can honestly say I went in to the big day with no stress, all thanks to Sarah. She took charge and handled everything that came up with professionalism and efficiency. We hired Sarah to be our event coordinator for a destination wedding at Tanque Verde Guest Ranch that had a slew of moving parts and as it turned out a fair number of last minute surprises that needed handling. Sarah took charge and accomplished all that was needed/desired with grace and professionalism. Sarah is accommodating, resourceful, upbeat, level-headed and we never saw her ruffled in any way. She was a sheer joy to work with and was a real asset to making Josh and Nikki's wedding literally go off without a hitch! For context, we started out with an entirely different wedding planner and had met Sarah in her capacity as sales manager at our venue, Tanque Verde Ranch, her former place of employment. We happened to have a lot of issues with our first wedding planner, and finally took the plunge to part ways with her shortly after Sarah ventured out on her own to start her wedding planning business. Obviously, this was an extra expense we never anticipated, but we are SO grateful and relieved that we decided to make the switch over to Sarah. I know for a fact that our day would not have been as carefree and run as smoothly as it did if we had not had Sarah by our side. She was able to pick up right where we had left things with our former planner, and went above and beyond to catch us up on all of the remaining to-do’s. Sarah was timely and responsive to all of my questions and concerns. She was also tactful in more stressful moments, while also advocating for us and our wishes.
