Sarah Dunn’s work online appears to be fantastic! I was very excited to connect with her and plan for our wedding photography. We signed our contract and paid our initial deposit. After that, she stopped responding to the first emails and would only respond when I resent the emails after no response and asked why she didn’t respond. Sarah shared there was a personal crisis that was impacting her. Life happens. I get it. I extended grace to her despite my mounting anxiety about her lack of responsiveness. A month later, Sarah was still not responding in a timely fashion and six days had passed since my last email to her. Not even a quick message acknowledging receipt and providing a timeline for response. Sarah’s lack of timely response to several initial emails after a month unless I badgered her, caused me to request to cancel our contract since it seems either she was not managing her personal life or she was truly not a professional. I initially requested that our deposit be refunded additionally since our wedding was over four months away which would allow plenty of time for her to book another job. Sarah declined to refund our deposit and claimed I also owed an additional $500 cancellation fee. I told Sarah to keep the deposit, since I was cancelling but I refused to pay a cancellation fee since it was her lack of responsiveness, communication, and professionalism that was driving the cancellation. Sarah continued to insist that I owed additional monies. If she had just accepted my offer to keep the deposit, I would not have resorted to writing this review. If this cancellation was because of my need to cancel for whatever reason, I would have paid the cancellation fee. However, I should not be penalized for Sarah’s lack of good business management after a grace period of a month to handle her personal crisis. I will not pay the cancellation fee and this entire experience leads me to not recommend her.
