Mary Burns and her team did a wonderful job with our sons rehearsal dinner. It was picture perfect! Mary was a pleasure to work with every step of the way, and exceeded all expectations. The venue itself is beautiful providing the perfect back drop for a once in a lifetime evening. The food and service were outstanding, Most of all, the personal touch and responsiveness during the year prior helped to ensure a magical night.
Weddings are a once in a lifetime event~ there are no do overs and vendors make it or break it. Quite simply, the Savannah Center is a WOW- 10 out of 10- highly recommend!
I want to give a big thank you to The Savannah Center, especially Mary Burns and her team, that helped us make it all come together for our 20th Vow Renewal Celebration! Mary was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was very attentive to our needs and always responded in a timely manner from start to finish. The team was very accommodating while working with our schedule. The dinner staff was friendly and kept the dinner service moving throughout the evening. We had one issue with a guest request, and Mary was able to handle the issue without involving my coordinator, which was awesome. I can't say enough great things about our experience. We truly had one of the best times of our lives! Our guests had nothing but positive things to say. We hope that we can use the venue again in the future. -Autumn & JR
This venue was the perfect place for our wedding! When we first toured the location, we fell in love. The space is so large and accommodated our large wedding perfectly! We had originally planned to get married in August and utilize their beautiful outdoor space, however, our plans changed, and we opted for a November wedding. This shifted our wedding inside. Even though we got married in one of the three ballrooms they have available, it was still a beautiful wedding. The ceremony space was stunning and perfect for our day. We loved the bridal suite and the groomsmen suite, and they fit our bridal party perfectly. We had a larger wedding around 235 (originally planned 340) and utilized the two other ballrooms for our reception space. It was a beautiful space, and we received many compliments on our selection. The dance floor area is also quite large and versatile. We danced all night, and the space was perfect for it! Savannah Center also has its own catering and staff, which was very convenient. The options and prices were great and factored into our decision to pick this location! We also received lots of compliments on the food. Many of our guests had dietary restrictions and allergies and the staff was very understanding and made the experience painless. Overall, we had a fabulous time and are so glad we picked the Savannah Center for our wedding! We would highly recommend this space!
The service and value of this venue are unmatched! We had the pleasure of having our wedding at the Savannah Center in November of 2019, and we had a total ball! The venue was perfect and beautifully laid out from the minute my vendors arrived. The staff was extremely attentive to everyone's needs and requests. The food was incredible, from the cocktail menu bites to the main course everything was served piping hot and was so delicious! Steve Dawkins and Danielle Dostal went above and beyond to make our day everything and more than we could have possibly wanted. They made sure everything was ready to go and so beautiful! They even took care of a special requested drink that was made and ready for my dad and his friends at the last minute. Our day was absolutely beautiful and that would not have been possible without the help of Danielle and Steve. We are truly proud and grateful to say our big day took place here!
We started out working with Kathyna and about 5 months out she left so we worked with Steve. There was some miscommunication in what she promised she would help with vs. what we actually could do but in the end everything worked out. The Savannah Center is a BEAUTIFUL venue and it was everything I imagined it would be. The food was delicious - even better than when we did our tasting and we have gotten multiple compliments that it's been the best wedding food our guests have had. Everything was set up and ready to go for our day - the only miscommunication we had was with flowers. My vendor didn't set them up on the tables and the Savannah center doesn't do any of that work so my bridal party had to help. I would definitely recommend this venue - its spacious, beautiful, good food and a lot of amenities included (table cloths, chair covers..etc)!
Savannah Center has it all: elegance, delicious food, beautiful decor, friendly staff, and a great location. Mary was an absolute delight assisting and guiding us through the planning process. She has so much experience and was more than happy to offer assistance with finding other vendors. We love that Savannah Center's packages include hors d'oeuvres, salad, entree, side items, and a beverage package. We are beyond thrilled with how beautiful our reception was. Our guests could not stop commenting on how lovely it was. We give our absolute highest recommendation for Savannah Center.
I had my wedding reception here in August and my contact from there was Steve Dawkins. I can’t begin to express how horrible he made my experience leading up to the event. Another 1000 people event was right before my wedding and I was about made aware of this until after I signed my contract. I had to schedule all of my vendors for setup of the hall only 3 hours prior to the start of my reception. Due to this, I had to skip out on so many decorations. On top of that, Steve Dawkins roamed around like a hawk on my reception day in between all of my guests throughout the ceremony. He took pictures of everyone at my reception to see how many people there were and accused us of having more people than the count given despite all the empty seats in the hall. The worst was when he went up to my brother to charge his card for the overage on people WHILE I was giving my speech with my husband in the middle of the hall in front of everyone. He told my brother if he didn’t pay on the spot then he would shut down the party! I can’t begin to express how furious I am over this and how much Steve Dawkins spoiled my special day! Please don’t ever book here!! These people just want your money!
Loved everything about Savannah Center and Kathyna was unbelievable to work with! She made our day extremely special and was terrific through the whole process. The only issue we had was with the bartenders putting out tip jars after we told them not too because we would tip them at the end. Kathyna did tell them to put them away but after she had left, they put them back out again. Outside of that one hiccup, everything else was perfect and we would highly recommend this venue!
The Savannah Center was the perfect place for our wedding. The staff was friendly, prepared and always engaged in making our wedding special. A special thanks to Kathyna Salizar for her amazing efforts in making our wedding a dream come true.
We had our ceremony and reception at Savannah Center, and it was more amazing than we ever could have imagined! Mary was fantastic and helped us through the whole process. She gave us tips and great ideas to help make our wedding perfect. The venue is beautiful on the inside and outside, and the staff is wonderful! There is seriously no better place for a wedding!
Warning long post!! First of all. Shout out to Mary for seriously from beginning to end making me and my husbands wedding day the best day ever. From the day I started planning, over a year ago, Mary was a friend other than someone who I was paying to help make our day perfect. (And she went over and beyond my expectations even then!!)
She responded to emails right away, called me when needed and promptly made sure all my questions were answered. Even if I had a question about another company she contacted that company to get ahold of me immediately to make my process stress free and amazing.
She is detailed, organized and has a lot of suggestions, when you want them, to help you make all your dreams come true. If you forget something she will remember for you because she cares to make your day perfect !! When we met for our final meeting, I was really worried the timeline of the day I had was not going to be realistic for me and my guests and again Mary came through !!!
Amazing staff, beautiful venue, food is on point, & service from all parties of the whole place was just so great! We couldn’t of asked for a more perfect place for us to have all our family and friends together to celebrate our wedding!!
We couldn't say enough nice things about the Savannah Center. We were treated like a King and Queen every step of the way. Kathyna specifically was soo nice and went the extra mile to make our day extra special. I would HIGHLY recommend this event center to anyone looking to get married or really for any event as they cater to many types. The setting is beautiful inside and out and if you prefer to have the ceremony, event and pictures conveniently located in one amazing place, The Savannah Center is unparalleled.
We absolutely loved having our sangeet, wedding, and reception at the Savannah Center! Mary was so very helpful and positive throughout and we really enjoyed working with her. No matter how many thousands of questions I had about every little detail, Mary was always happy to answer to them in such a prompt manner. The venue itself was beautiful and exactly what we wanted for our big day. The event staff was so nice and friendly and even joined us on the dance floor towards the end of the night! We also used some of their catering services and our guests are still raving over it (specifically the desserts!) Overall, we loved every second of our wedding weekend and it wouldn't have been possible without Mary and the Savannah Center team.
Thomas and I are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Mrs. Mary Burns and Savannah Center. Mrs. Mary and her team were extremely professional and provided quality customer service. They went above and beyond the call of duty. We received wonderful feedback from family and friends on how lovely, professional, and creative the decorations were...especially the flowers, bouquets, and lighting. Most importantly, Mrs. Mary and Savannah center made us feel apart of their family, and made sure we were taken care of. We have already recommended Savannah Center to our friends!
Sincere thanks
Mr. & Mrs. George
Where do we even begin?! We had our wedding and reception at Savannah Center on July 22, 2017! The first time we stepped into this venue, we knew it was the one! One of the many important factors was being able to choose our own cater (we did pay more for this but at least it was an option for us). Kathyna (Katina) Salazar was a true life saver throughout the entire planning process. On the day of the wedding, Katina even offered to come into work early to ensure that she was there for us! She made our day PERFECT! She deserves 10 stars. She also made sure that we kept track of our timeline. Hands down, the BEST coordinator ever! Highly recommend her and Savannah Center!!!
My husband and I had our reception (7/21/17) at the Savannah Center, I can't even begin to express all of the compliments that we got on our wedding, decorations, and especially the food and event space at the Savannah Center. They did an incredible great job and I really appreciate everything they did to make sure that our day was a success.
We got married at the Savannah Center in August 2017 and everything was perfect. The staff were amazing and helped us every step of the way. Mary made sure that everything met or exceeded our expectations. The facility and the grounds were gorgeous, and everything fit our needs perfectly. They were very accommodating of all my requests and answered all of our questions promptly and thoroughly. Every detail of our wedding ended up being perfect and we couldn't be more pleased.
Mary at the Savannah Center is amazing. She made sure my wedding day absolutely perfect. She made everything so easy and ensured that I didn't have to lift a finger the day of the wedding. She has a great personality and answered any questions I had along the way. The venue is gorgeous inside and out.
My dream wedding came true at Savannah Center. Mary was beyond amazing to work with, and truly helped keep my stress level down this past year. She was a phenomenal help in preparation for the day of, and my day went incredibly smooth.
Steve did a great job making this a memorable day for us. We had a little but of rain, but their contingency plan for having the ceremony inside was fantastic. Could not be happier with our choice of venue!
Mary is hands down the best. She made everything perfect for me, and I was one picky bride! The servers where great as well, everyone was so nice and accommodating. She walked me through everything, from DJ recommendations to the napkins. I wouldn't image why anyone would want to have their reception anywhere else. Absolutely beautiful place.
My husband and I just had a surprise wedding at the Savannah Center on March 12th. We never thought we would be able to pull off such a large event as a surprise, but we were able to, because of "Kathyna Salazar". She is an amazing organizer; very much on top of all the tasks that needed to be taken care of. The venue was absolutely beautiful and everything went very smoothly. We owe her many thanks!!! She was outstanding and such a sweet person, so glad we got to know her!
I held my wedding and reception here and it was everything I could have hoped for and more. The building is impressive and met all of our needs. I loved the bridal suite and the venue gave my photographer so much to work with. In the year leading up to my wedding the staff was always available for any questions I had and truly put me at ease. Also, their list of preferred vendors is amazing and made that part of planning a cinch. When the big day arrived we had a huge storm roll in which eliminated my ability to have an outdoor wedding. Just a couple hours before we were to say "I do" Mary and the staff brought in beautiful chairs, all of my decor and an arbor. It was beautiful! They made what might have seemed like a disaster only a tiny hiccup. Their captain took great care us us all night and even even helped me with my dress! Our reception looked like something right out of this magazine. Their crew can really set a beautiful room! I had mentioned to the sales team that my husbands grandmother would not be served a meal because she can only drink a supplement. In order to make grandma feel special they provided elegant glassware for her supplement. The staff truly went out of their way to make our day incredible and our guests feel special. If I had to do it over again I'd choose them every time.
Kathyna Salazar is the best!! We worked together planning every detail of my daughter's wedding and the entire event could not have been more perfect! We had guests from all over the world and they could not get over the beauty of the space and the presentation and deliciousness of the food!
Unexpected....Very special baby shower experience! First, I should share that the Savannah Center has long been our destination for numerous civic organization luncheons, dinners, galas and dances. When faced challenge to locate a venue to accommodate up to 100 guests, the Savannah Center was our FIRST and ONLY choice. As grandparents of our soon-to-be-born third granddaughter, we knew our son and daughter-in-law deserved a FANTASTIC location and experience for this celebration. Kathyna Salazar and her team were incredibly creative, thorough in executing every detail, and helped Bryan and Hayley along with our large number of guests enjoy a beautiful and special celebration to welcome Baby Layla! The Savannah Center staff created an intimate but yet spacious layout along with great recommendations for a delectable menu. The decor was FABULOUS! Plus they were SO flexible with us when we faced a scheduling challenge. Truly professional in every way, the Savannah Center IS the best regional destination for making memories with family and friends. We loved every moment, and our new little addition will one day see all the exquisite photo memories of everyone who welcomed her weeks before her birth. Our guests continually tell us that our "Couples Shower at the Savannah" was the BEST ever! Thank you, Kathyna and team!
Such an amazing team, Mary was wonderful and went above and beyond! Highly recommend!
Both my daughters married within six months of each other, with the weddings held at the Savannah Center. One was a June wedding and the other was in January. Two different seasons, but the Savannah Center was perfect for each one! It is a lovely venue, perfect for holding events that you want to capture in your memory forever! From the first contact with Mary Burns, wedding and social events manager, we knew it was to be the Savannah Center for the weddings! Mary is professional yet warm and friendly! My entire family felt a special connection with her! She guided us through everything, made thoughtful suggestions, and helped us think through details we had no idea needed to be considered! Both daughters had their ceremonies in Mercer and dinner/receptions in Forsyth. Everything was beautifully arranged and set-up, on time and just the way we wanted! The food is exceptional! The Center’s own chef is remarkable, with our guests commenting repeatedly about the tastiness of the food! The chef also accommodated a variety of dietary needs without any problem. The layout is convenient, with comfortably furbished private rooms for the groom’s party and for the bride’s party. Restrooms are spacious, clean and conveniently located. We appreciated all the cooperation and attention to detail for our family! Without hesitation, I recommend The Savannah Center as a superb venue for a wedding and reception!
Savannah Center helped me make my dream wedding into a reality. I was fortune enough to work with Steve and he dealt with every possible situation with me and always remained kind and professional. We booked early and came in every few months to make our payments. They were easy and accommodating. The day of, they were extremely attentive to not only our needs as a bride or groom, but our guests as well. We had one crazy guest and we didn't find out they had dealt with the situation until they were long gone which kept us stress free! I would recommend them to anyone considering a beautiful and unique venue that hasn't been used by others a million times!
The Savannah Center was a beautiful location for our Reception venue for our wedding. Mary and the staff were very friendly making the night wonderful. The food was also very good too!
We absolutely loved this venue for our wedding! The staff was so kind and worked with us to make our day perfect!
Savannah Center made me feel like a Hollywood Star!
I had my very formal Hollywood Glam bridal shower at the Savannah Center and loved every part of this very special day. I loved pulling into a large parking lot and views of the beautiful lake and landscape. My family wanted to surprise me with the room so upon my early arrival I visited the ladies room to put the finishing touches to my make up and loved clean and spacious and rich restroom. I made my way into our fabulous room and my breath was taken away! It looked so beautiful.
I was greeted by a very friendly staff and general manager. He made my soon to be Korean mother in law feel so special at her "first ever bridal shower" through his very genuine and hospitable manners.
The food was delicious and service was amazing from beginning to end. I would highly recommend this beautiful facility to brides looking for a classy, hassle free wedding!
Please be super careful picking this venue for your wedding! The Savannah center does not care about you or your wedding. The only thing they care about is money and how they can make most money. Don't get me wrong the venue looks beautiful, the food is amazing and they have a bar package included in the price. It all seems so lovely until you start looking closer. The ground are not taken care of, there are weeds everywhere!!! They never mulch and the flowers are dead. When I asked about the garden area all they would say is we will get too it. The week before the wedding i went there and complained about the garden (where my wedding was going to be taking place) they said they will "work" on it. Them "working" on it meant they planted two flowers at the entrance. The actual wedding and reception turned out beautiful and it was the most amazing day i could have asked for! the only reason it turned out so amazing was because of all my other amazing venues and my friends and family. The Savannah Center did nothing. The bar service was so horrible the whole night and the staff is sooooo rude! Please think twice before you get married here. Save yourself the head ache. It is so expensive and there are so many better places out there!!
First of all the food here was amazing. We had several complements from our wedding guests regarding the food. Beautiful location with nearly lake and gazebo. Sadly other than this things went downhill quickly. Had great meetings before hand which all seemed to go well. Planned the layout with suggestions directly from the staff. Unfortunately the site was not set up as initially described and it was difficult to maneuver around tables. They came up and asked if we wanted the bridal party served dinner or not. We had sheet cakes in the back which were to be cut by the staff and set on a dessert table. I later learned they only cut the chocolate cakes, and left an entire white cake in the back (I had guests after the wedding note they wish there would have been more white cake like they saw on our main cake). There was no last call announced for the bar. What was most frustrating is the staff kept clearing the head table. I had at least 2-3 members of the bridal party get cake for my husband and I and leave it at our spots but the wait staff cleared it every time. They also cleared the silverware before my wedding party could eat their cake. I had the site booked until midnight and staff started clearing tables and tearing everything down by at least 11:30 if not earlier. We paid for that time and they were too anxious to get set up for the event the next day to realize we were still dancing and had guests present. Not professional at all!
We had our daughter's ceremony and wedding Reception at Savannah center this August 2015 and what a beautiful wedding that was. Kathyna Salazar was amazing throughout the process before and during the wedding. She was very patient and great to work with. Everything we wanted done was taken care of efficiently and the food was excellent. We had a duet of filet mignon and salmon and we had nothing but excellent feedback from our guests. I must say that the servers were also helpful and pleasant. Savannah more than delivered.
The moment I saw the Savannah Center I knew I absolutely wanted to get married there. Our wedding was on May 17, 2015. We had an outdoor ceremony in the gazebo and a reception immediately following in the Mercer salon (which is absolutely gorgeous as well). Mary Burns was our wedding coordinator and she was awesome! She paid close attention to every detail, gave excellent recommendations and when she didn't know the answer to one of my questions she found the answer! Mary was very easy to work with, which as many brides know is great when wedding planning! We served a sit down dinner with filet mignon and crap stuffed shrimp with honey glazed carrots and yukon gold potatoes. The food was delicious! All of my guests were complimenting on the venue and the food. Mary and the staff at the Savannah Center made my wedding the best night of my life!
Before I start I want to say I really do not know where to begin without being long winded. We Had our ceremony and Reception here. As the Groom, and it being my first wedding at 35, I did not know that this journey would be this smooth..and Mary Burns is a blessing to The Savannah Center if they do not already know this, you can read it here. THIS FACILITY IS BEAUTIFUL HANDS DOWN!! It was the first place we visited on our search for venues and after looking at literally dozens of venues, The Savannah Center was ultimately the only place we felt that was "us." Mary's vibe made us feel like family and we love her like family after this experience. She sat us down and went over all our must haves, but had the patience to break everything down to avoid misunderstanding. Being the Groom, she did an awesome job with the Wedding Party during the rehearsal and organizing the Grooms Suite for me and the fellas (get the groom suite package fellas!!); as well as communicating with me as to what the timelines are and what was flexible and what was not. The staff and Chef brought their A-Game this day which has our guests still raving a full month after the wedding about how fresh the food was and how well it was prepared. The professionalism and class of the Savannah Center staff, partnered with Mary who was very organized, attentive and caring to all of our guests, exceeded our already high expectations! If we chose another venue I would be living with regret right now. Thank you Savannah Center and Mary Burns for giving us the experience that all wedded couples pray for; you are second to none.
My husband and I fell in love with the rooms and amenities at the Savannah Center. We worked with Mary as our wedding planner. She was amazing. She returned phone calls and emails quickly. She met with us every time we had questions to make sure our night was the way we wanted. The food was outstanding. We have gotten countless compliments from guest about how amazing our hors d'oeuvres, dinner and chocolate fountain were. We even had a late night fare of Cincinnati style chili dogs, which everyone enjoyed. They had a lovely bridal suite with a private bathroom for the bridal party, and very large bathrooms for guests, all of which were very clean. The waitstaff and bartenders were very attentive with all of our guests. In short, it was awesome!
My husband and I got married this past March and had our cocktail hour and reception at the Savannah center. Because we planned our wedding during the off season, we were able to take advantage of their winter discount--great savings! Throughout the process, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. All of our guests had a wonderful time and said how great the room was and how much they liked the food. We had an amazing night and were really pleased with our choice of venue. I would absolutely recommend the Savannah Center. The only negative aspect of this venue is its 'generic' wedding feel. It's beautiful, but if you are looking for a unique wedding or something wildly original, this may not be the place for you. Also, be aware--they will set up everything, but you/your family is responsible for taking everything down(i.e. table numbers, centerpieces, etc.)
We chose Savannah Center not only because of its beauty but also because of the people that worked there. Mary, our coordinator, was with us every step of the way in the planning process. Her guidance, expertise, and patience took a huge weight off our shoulders and took the stress out of wedding planning. Mary was always available to meet or talk on the phone to answer questions - she never made us feel that she had more important clients to be with. We would recommend Savannah Center to any friends or family looking for a wedding venue in the area and would choose Savannah Center again if given the choice.
The venue is beautiful and the waitresses and bartenders were absolutely wonderful. It is very hard though to have a one of a kind wedding when there is so little room to color outside the lines. For example: My daughter wanted a specific food served, not possible. There is no varying from preset menu's, and there is no offering two different meals like a chicken and a beef. One meal all 200 people. Sparklers for a 4th of July wedding, no! Craft beer, no! We received very little leeway in coming in at 2pm the day of the wedding for pictures, I know of NO venue that doesn't let you have from at least noon on. 4 o'clock is when they provided people. We went at 2 as the photographer could not get everything accomplished if only had an hour to shoot, much less no time to dress if 4 was the soonest. All in all our day was special in spite of the hassles, the venue was beautiful if pricey, but we felt our special day was secondary to their convenience.
Not sure why people liked this place. Sure, the facilities are nice, but the management staff, as well as the event serving staff are all very unprofessional. Both events of mine were good, but the staff was just rude, and they looked like they didn't want to serve at our wedding receptions at all. They would even give some attitude right in front of us or our family members and guests if you asked them for something. There's probably just one lady, part of the serving staff, who is the most helpful there, but other than that, even the guy serving drinks didn't seem to have any hint of professionalism, nor common courtesies towards our guests. The cost of this place is also outrageous, especially when they start to forget what the clients have paid for. I would recommend some other place before forking over high dollar.
I just had my wedding reception at the Savannah Center in February. It was absolutely perfect. The entire experience was great from start to finish. I worked with Mary from the initial meeting, through the thousands of e-mails brides have, the tasting, & she was there the day of the reception. She has wonderful ideas. The service both at the tasting & reception was top notch. They do not miss anything! The venue itself is gorgeous & CLEAN. With alllllll that goes into planning a wedding, booking this place & knowing you have nothing to worry about is the way to go :)
It’s difficult to know where to begin—with them not showing up at the rehearsal, or the odor from a sewage backup wafting through the halls on our special night??
I sorely regret not heeding earlier warnings about the Savannah Center but was lured by its glossy veneer and off-season discount. We learned the hard way that management was neither professional nor reliable. Upon our initial meeting, “Kathyna” was not only late but also inebriated. Thirty minutes after our appointment was to begin—on a Sunday afternoon, mind you—she hastily answered a few questions, only to then brush us aside to tend to the next couple. Let me say the facility is beautiful, and we were impressed with the amenities, including the bridal suite. So, despite this first impression, we followed up with “Mary,” who was responsive and conducted a subsequent tour.
Later, when scheduling the tasting to finalize the menu, we worked with the manager, Steve, because Mary was sick. Despite my explicit instructions (verbal and then via email) to forego shellfish due to an allergy, my filet arrived with crab meat on top of it. Mary blamed Steve (her boss) for the mix-up, saying something to the effect of “stupid men.” I then waited at least 20 minutes for a replacement filet, which arrived cold and flavorless. (I wouldn’t be surprised if they ran water over the steak and then re-served it to me.) The rest of the food was delicious, and because it was too late to back out, we forged ahead.
Two weeks prior to the wedding, Mary informed us that Kathyna would be standing in the day of, as she had a family event to attend. My fiancée promptly emailed Steve to voice our concerns about the shellfish, as well as Kathyna’s professionalism—or lack thereof. Steve said he would personally oversee (and be present at) our event. After confirming the rehearsal time, we arrived to a dark, vacant Savannah Center. That’s right; neither Mary (who had promised to facilitate the rehearsal) nor Kathyna actually showed up. After multiple (frantic) calls to all three, not to mention an hour spent waiting in the parking lot in late December with friends and family, we retreated to the nearby hotel, where we were having food catered in. Despite more emails and VMs, the night passed with no call back or confirmation the event would happen until 10 a.m. the day of the wedding. Steve called, apologized profusely and offered to refund a fraction of the overall bill. Amazingly, the comedy of errors didn’t end there. Take, for instance, the cake. Another reviewer said she observed staff eating her daughter’s wedding cake in the back. I can only imagine that is what happened to ours. It should have fed 145 people. Our guest count was 114 (15 were small children). Yet, I only received a small piece in the beginning of the reception before the rest of it disappeared, along with our custom cake toppers and later, the pressed botantical table numbers. We would have inquired about this with Mary asap, had she not already snuck out of the building before the reception ended. To be fair, no guests complained about the food. The wait staff was courteous. But even though our sweetheart table was served first, my meal arrived cold. This was soo not worth the money; I can't reccommend this venue. If you do book, be sure to retain a lawyer and a copy of the health dept. inspection.
Katina and the staff at the Savannah Center were wonderful. The venue is beautiful, opened just about 5 years ago, so it is modern and gorgeous. We did everything at the center, got ready there, took pictures, had the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. It was nice to not have to travel to multiple locations, there is a space for everything at this venue. Our pictures turned out great, we did some outside, but since it was November and cold, most were taken inside and turned out great. Katina was wonderful to work with, she was so friendly and accommodating. Thank you again so much!
The Savannah Center and Kathyna were great every step of the way in planning the reception. Each detail was thought of and they were more than acommadating to my requests. Kathyna was great at putting each detail into the event. The night of the wedding went so smoothly from the cocktail hour to the end of the night. The bartenders were great and kept the lines moving and the served dinner was prompt. I would highly recommend the Savannah Center!
The Savannah Center is a gorgeous venue with tons to offer. They have a huge selection of food to choose from. Everything is delicious. The gazebo and outdoor setting is perfect for pictures. We got married inside and the room looked just as beautiful as any sanctuary. The reception set up was so beautiful and matched our color and theme perfectly. If you choose the Savannah Center please use Kathyna Salazar. (pronounced Katina) She is absolutely wonderful at what she does. She is truly gifted and in the profession that is perfect for her. She will have an answer for everything and will always know what to do in any situation. I trusted her completely and was always 100% satisfied with whatever we decided. She was in complete control at all times. I would highly recommend Kathyna and the Savannah Center for any event. :)
The Savannah Center was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I had my ceremony inside in the Mercer Salon, which was absolutely beautiful. Then, the reception was in the next connected ballroom, and the Mercer Salon became our dance floor. I can't begin to explain how pretty the rooms were. The whole location is beautiful inside and out...perfect for pictures! Now for the food...one word: delicious. Chef Henry is absolutely amazing! We had a duet of filet and chicken piccata. The filet was so tender you could eat it with a fork. We had so many of our guests call the week after the weddding and talk about how amazing the food was! The service was also flawless! The wedding coordinators are amazing and don't miss a beat! I can't rave enough about the Savannah Center! I can't imagine having my wedding anywhere else...the whole day was completely flawless at the Savannah Center! :)
We had our June 2013 wedding at the Savannah Center. Wedding was outside in the main garden/gazebo and the reception was in the main ballroom with the full windows and skylights and it was a gorgeous and very nice wedding. The Savannah Center is a really beautiful place and is perfect if you are looking to have wedding and reception at same location. This is what made me decide to book the Savannah Center for my June 2013 wedding. The Savannah Center gardens and entire building is very pretty, nice, and spaciest compared to most venues. We got many compliments on this aspect BUT you are going to pay for it. It's quite pricey and it seems like every time you discuss anything or look at something the price goes up there. My advise to people booking the Savannah is REALLY dig deep into contract and ask on pricing of linens, cocktail tables, bartenders, EVERYTHING up front otherwise you will have BIG surprise as you continue to plan you reception. DON'T assume because you have full open bar and are paying $65 per person that bartenders and cocktail tables are including in price BECAUSE they aren't and are expensive add ons that you can't have your reception without. Another example, they can't guarantee you can actually have your rehearsal at the same location you are getting married at, at the Savannah, until the day before wedding rehearsal. You also can't book or extend the time for a number of the breakout rooms two weeks before the wedding since they are a conference center they keep those rooms open or available until the last minute in case a corporate or another event happens there the same day of your wedding just before. Something to remember as at other venues, that aren't corporate places, you don't have to worry about this. Also, you can only get into Savannah Center 2 HOURS before your wedding. People are prbly wondering why I am putting this into a review but it things I wish I would have known more about or paid more attention to up front when I was booking the Savannah. Make sure to ask about minimums for both Friday and Saturday nights as this is something I didn't learn about until I was doing my walk through of venue.
The staff was really great the day of the wedding and made our guest have good experience. Mary was my wedding coordinator and easy to work with and was pretty quick to respond to emails. I didn't even meet Mary or the staff until the day of my wedding, or at rehearsal. I did two years of planning through email and phone calls with my coordinator, Mary, as I live states away. She was good to work with and always nice.
I will note that your wedding coordinator there does contact ALL your vendors and coordinates with them when they can come setup and what to do when they get there. This was a huge help the last month of the wedding and one less thing to have worry about. I gave Mary as list of my vendors (cake, flowers, string quartet, DJ) and she contacted them with all details which was fabulous and another added bonus of the Savannah Center.
Overall, good experience and since majority of our guests were out of town it was perfect venue for everything; right off highway, plenty of hotels with free shuttles(huge bonus and biggest rave from our guests) to and from Savannah Center, and no traveling for guests from ceremony to reception. Overall glad we had our wedding there and everything was beautiful still just still a little sour with the total cost and what it ended up being but don't regret it!
I got married last October and have nothing but good things to say about my experience at the Savannah Center. The staff guided us through the whole process from food selection, to the table layout in the ballroom. They made sure the whole bridal party was taken care of throughout the night. We had a designated server during appetizer hour and dinner that took care of us. The appetizers, drinks and dinner were all delicious. I would highly recommend the savannah center.
The place is beautiful but wow the customer service or lack there of was unbelievable. I had emailed several times to get questions answered and i would be lucky to get one reply within a few days. Also tried calling many times with no answer even on the day I went to tour the place. Instead the lady katyna replied "oh ya I got your calls". Thank you for calling me back I only called 4 hours ago. Then I was about to book at the savannah and was deciding between them and another vender and I still haven't heard back from my last email. That was 3 weeks ago and not only did she not answer my question but I haven't heard even a follow up. The only thing I can think of is that I wasn't a $50,000 sale so my wedding is not important to her. She obviously needs commission on the big sales and cares nothing about making clients happy on one of the most important days of their lives. Needless to say I went with another venue that is awesome and whose employees cared about me and my big day. I hope nobody else gets treated this way, hopefully katyna will realize that this is not how to get customers as I've told everyone about my experience.
I just got married this past October at the Savannah center. Let me tell you, what a wonderful experience! I worked with Kathyna and she made me feel so comfortable and assured me that she would take care of anything I needed! The food was awesome! (Our guests had a duet of salmon and chicken with mango salsa.) the staff was so nice and made sure our bridal party was taken care of, including prior to the wedding! The venue is just gorgeous! My original plan was to have the ceremony outside in the gardens, however the weather was not permitting. I was very nervous that the inside ceremony wouldnt capture the beauty I was looking for, but the staff made it look absolutely awesome, and still very intimate! I would highly recommend the Savannah Center for ceremonies and wedding receptions!
When I first started looking at vendors, pictures of the beautiful Savannah Center made me really want to have my wedding there. I was worried because it looked more expensive than my budget would allow. However, after talking to Kathyna, I realized how affordable the place really is! I was able to get a 25% discount for my Friday evening wedding, the packages are very inclusive, and the food, service, staff, are all worth the money! They are truly incredible. I was able to book with their preferred vendors and it's a good thing because they all work so seamlessly together. I didn't have to worry about anything during my wedding planning because they all took care of everything. On the day of my wedding, I really got to relax and enjoy the day. Thank you Savannah Center!
The Savannah Center was the perfect venue for our wedding. We wanted a ceremony and reception that flowed well and it did just that. We were able to have our ceremony outside, overlooking the lake and have a separate space for cocktail hour and dinner. The staff there was amazing. We worked with Katina who made sure I was happy and calm about all our details. Everything went so smooth on the day of the wedding. We had a staff member assigned to just my husband and I to make sure we had everything we needed. She had water for us as soon as the ceremony was over and a cocktail for us before pictures were even done. Not only are they great to work with but the location is so beautiful too. We are 100% happy with the choice we made!
We had our wedding at the Savannah Center and the venue was beautiful! The service was average as far as clearing up tables during dinner.
I loved everything about this venue. We were even upgraded rooms a couple weeks before the wedding. It was a pleasant surprise! Kathyna is such a help! Highly recommended.
Our wedding was more than we could have ever imagined here at the Savannah Center. Having the ceremony and reception all at one location made the planning process so much easier and Mary provided us with more options than we knew what to do with, but guided us in the exact direction we wanted to go. The location is beautiful as is and you can even add more to make it even more amazing. Food and wait staff were excellent and I have yet to hear one bad complaint! Everything turned out amazing and Mary helped make it as stress free as possible. As normal, there were hiccups that occurred during the day of the wedding, but none of the guests had any clue about it and I didn't have to worry about it because Mary was there to take care of everything and let the bride and groom enjoy their special day! The only downside I had was setting the rehearsal time BUT Mary definitely worked with us to accommodate what was best for our wedding party and it went great! I would recommend this location to any bride and groom!
Our Savannah Center wedding coordinator, Mary was very friendly and went out of her way to make sure that everything was exactly how we had envisioned it...and even gave us a few nice surprises on the wedding day. The facilities are beautiful, the food was delicious and the staff was helpful and professional. So glad we chose this venue for my daughter's big day.
I have zero complaints. The Savannah Center was amazing from the start. Our first tour of the building, each of our meetings for details, the tastings, the collaborative design and planning they offered- amazing! I had my dream wedding here because they allowed me to customize the venue and worked with my vision while offering suggestions that really helped make the day memorable. Excellent staff, trustworthy service and incredible food. Plus the facility is gorgeous. My guests couldn't stop talking about it. :)
The Savannah Center did an amazing job for my wedding. Mary Burns did an incredible job organizing everything and the day of our wedding went so smoothly. The food was delicious also. I would recommend the Savannah Center to any bride.
We had a Friday, outdoor ceremony in their garden gazebo and it was absolutely beautiful. The Savannah Center staff was great (especially Kathyna), and they honestly made our wedding so much better than we had ever imagined. They were willing to meet with us as many times as we needed and were always open to questions and ideas. The space there is beautiful. The food was great (and the gelato/sorbet bar was delicious). They were willing to work with our budget and thew in extras to make our wedding special. We already had our wedding reception booked Saturday at another vendor, BUT if we would have known how great and accomodating the Savannah Center was we would have had it all there! Unlike our reception site, they made us feel special and more than just another client. Can't say enough good things (and definitely nothing bad to say).
