Our February wedding at the Space Needle was amazing. The venue was perfect for the season, and both local and out-of-town guests were so happy to be in this classic Seattle setting with amazing views all around. The venue itself, the warm and helpful staff, and the seamless execution of the event left a lasting impression on our guests—special thanks to the exceptional coordinators who made it all possible.
The food experience was outstanding, everyone commented how great the appetizers and meals were. We particularly appreciated the chef's helpfulness during our tasting session, which made the menu selection process enjoyable and stress-free.
Beyond the food and venue, the team went above and beyond to help us coordinate some fantastic locations for our wedding photos near the venue, ensuring they worked beautifully regardless of the weather. They also assisted in setting up our unique guest book and made sure our elderly guests could easily access the venue through the accessible entrance.
Overall, the Space Needle exceeded our expectations in every way, making our wedding day truly perfect. We highly recommend this venue to anyone!
We had my husband's 70th birthday party at the Space Needle and could not have been happier. The food was excellent, the staff went way beyond to help us, and event planning and set up was totally without stress. Guests really enjoyed the amazing views, so not much decorating required! I want to do this again! The value for the cost is hard to beat. Oh yeah, iconic and unforgettable experience.
The Speace Needle team went above and beyond for my Son's wedding! Everything was done so well from the decor, hor d'oeuvres, cocktails to the dinner. I could not ask for a better team that put this together for us. Everyone was so professional and friendly. We were treated like royalty. Plus the view was fabulous!
I would have given the space needle venue a 5 star review BUT when you rent out the space needle it is a package deal, which I thought was great! So catering was included and we were able to have the space for basically the whole day, the view was amazing, the waiters/waitresses were so great, the bartender was great, everything was great except for the day of wedding planner that is included with the package. Initially I was excited to have a day of planner to help the flow of things and help me pick out the menu, just having someone to communicate with that worked at the space needle was a big plus! Unfortunately I worked with Angela, which I recommend requesting someone else if you can. After I put my deposit down and was assigned a day of planner, I was given her email to get ahold of her, it took me months to get ahold of her. It wasn't like I would send one email and wait for her to write back, I would send one, then another, and then duplicates of that email, finally she got ahold of me and apologized for being unavailable which I understand, people are busy. So she sent me copies of the menu and told me to choose what I wanted and for a while it was ok but when the day started to come closer, was when it got really stressful! I hired a separate wedding planner and it was about 2 weeks before the wedding and I would call the day of planner, Angela, several times because I really needed my seating chart and fast forward to the DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING I still didn't have the seating chart! I had emailed her numerous times trying to get it and no email back SO I called about 8 times in a row and instantly I got an email back "I'm in a meeting, are you trying to get ahold of me? Do you need something?" Uhhhh yes I need my seating chart my wedding is tomorrow!!! So I finally get the seating chart and after my rehearsal dinner I had to rush back to my hotel and make out the whole seating chart and was up late the night before my wedding! Also I forgot to mention the remaining balance is due about a week before the wedding so she sends me the invoice (only time I can get ahold of her is if it requires me giving out my credit card number), and when I get the invoice it is about $10,000 more than the agreed upon price? Apparently she sent the incorrect invoice so after sending me another invoice, she finally sends me the correct one! So the wedding comes and everything is great, everyone said it was the best wedding ever! I do think the Space Needle is a great venue I just highly recommend not having Angela as your wedding planner. While we were on our honeymoon we got a few emails talking about how a few of the payments we made to the space needle was refunded, and then charged again? Then there was talk of getting a refund because we were over charged for something? I don't even know what was going on. I'm not sure if the day of planner just had too much on her plate, or if the space needle needs to work on a few things? But either way it was so stressful and unnecessary to have to deal with! Like I said, the space needle is a great space and so beautiful with great food and a great atmosphere, it was only the day of planner that added so much stress! Venue is definitely recommended, day of planner is not.
My husband and I had our wedding at the space needle, it was absolutely amazing. First I will talk about the price. On a Saturday night from 1800-2400 we had all three halls rented for $12,500 w/o tax and tip (~16,500 with). This covered the food, 4 hour open bar, mini sliders, set up, staff, clean up, take down, and everything else. If you are looking to do a wedding this is a definite must review before booking your venue.
After we went to 2-3 wedding expo's, most places wanted $5K to $7K for the venue. Caterers typically wanted $5K for a steak and salmon dinner for 100 guests. An open bar for 4 hours typically would run about $6K for 100 guests. We received all of the above including tip and the other things listed.
The only extra costs we had were photographer, DJ, limo, flowers, and cake. The only reason we did an outside vendor cake was because we wanted a specific cake topper and we fell in love with these southern style cupcakes (different review). All in all, everything was under $25K for a wedding with some of the best photos and views in the city.
The guests had 15% off at the gift shop, unlimited access to the top, a personal elevator for up/down trips, and every tourist in the city looking on in absolute envy. The wait staff was superb. My father wanted drinks before the open bar started due to his nerves and before I knew it, me and my dad had drinks to calm myself as my husband ran around making sure the guests got seated (he's Navy and kind of has an issue with things being perfect).
As far as the food - everyone loved it. My husband is an absolute steak snob (his favorite restaurant is Peter Luger's in NY) - and he was completely amazed that they made all the steaks a medium as he wanted and they were all tender, soft, and savory. My salmon was absolutely delicious. We have been to many weddings where the food was, for lack of better words, subpar. This was definitely not one of those times.
At the end of the night, the staff boxed up everything for us without being prompted so we could make our escape and the send off at the base with sparklers (self provided) was awesome as they went off in an arch as we went to the limo.
If you are getting married, on a budget, and want to make a "fancy" wedding (my maid of honor's words) - take a look at the Space Needle. You will not be sorry.
While my wedding was intimate and mid week, my wedding was over the top and felt extravagant. Our budget was small, we were after all celebrating 13 years of life together after Washington State made gay marriage legal, and didn't have a huge budget to spend. For 50 guests we had a plated dinner with amazing service, absolutely stunning views and spent only $5,000. I never thought in a million years I'd get married at the Space Needle, and yet my when you think of Seattle, you can't help but think of the Needle!
I was most impressed that they give you an event planner, my even planner Lauren made my wedding simple. I showed up and she made every thing happen! From getting my guests upstairs, to my vendors to the right spot. She helped my photographer and videographers with the right information and bent over backwards! She even upgraded our room at the last minute to help us celebrate! I could not have asked for better service.
I had a GREAT experience with the Space Needle. A couple of snags at first, but overall it was wonderful. I highly recommend working with Randy for the event. He and Eric, the catering manager, were beyond awesome. On the day of, everything went very smoothly and the service staff were SO great about being efficient and not disruptive at all (something I've seen other catered venues fail on big time). One thing, though, if you have an open bar, WATCH THE WAIT STAFF. They kept taking full glasses of wine away when people got up to go dance. They'd return to their table then have to go get another glass of wine. Annoying AND expensive. Everything else was perfect, though.
