Sebring Mansion Inn & Spa

This is literally the first review I have ever written, but we were disappointed by our experience working with Sebring Mansion staff. After meeting them for the first time, we were given a verbal quote that made us ecstatic to have found this venue! We were SO excited!! Sebring is just overwhelmingly beautiful! On our next trip, another verbal quote brought us up another $5,000. My fiancé was pretty frustrated, especially because he felt that they were attempting to get us to commit without getting exact numbers and making such a large price jump, albeit it was all estimated verbally by staff at this point. I felt he may be overreacting so I continued to consider Sebring as an option. Finally, I received a voicemail giving us our final amount that ended up being $13,000 more than that initial verbal quote. At that point, we did also receive paperwork laying out all of the costs. We decided to explore other options and have committed to another mansion that is far more practical for us, is just as beautiful in a more beautiful location, and our ENTIRE cost of our wedding will be $2,000 less than just paying for the food for dinner alone at Sebring (so, without all the extra costs like gratuity, alcohol and taxes tacked on). On top of this, due to Sebring's capacity and no children policy, our wedding cost for Sebring was estimated for 125 people, so now we will have a much cheaper wedding for 200 people (and now we can have our ring bearer and flower girls). I'm not sure how long Sebring has been holding weddings, so I'd like to believe this was due to error around lack of experience in the pricing. However, by the end of our experience working with them, it did leave a bad taste in my mouth. I do believe that labeling this venue as "affordable" is misleading. I would never tell anyone to avoid Sebring, especially as a bed and breakfast. I do believe they would be extremely detail oriented and give you a beautiful experience in an extravagant mansion! I would only caution to be sure to get your quote up front to be sure it actually fits your budget, because there are other great options that are actually "affordable."
