c, decor and service, everything was incredible. Maura, our event planner, went above and beyond to make our night spectacular. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cool vibe without compromising professional and caring service from beginning to end.

n’t gluten free. The man sitting across from me spit it out. He was very upset. There were a number of people that got ill after the party. This is just completely irresponsible when you’re dealing with someone’s health. Seems they did not fulfill the contract. Would be very skeptical on using a venue that makes such HUGE mistakes

he day of the wedding given that everything would be made in larger batches. But I was wrong! From every canape and drink to the signature LT popover, starter, main course, and mini desserts, the food was excellent! My mother loved the popovers so much that she went back to the hotel restaurants next day to try to buy them in bulk (sadly, they did not have them). Second, the venue is gorgeous and unlike any other in Manhattan. It's not a traditional wedding hall or hotel event space. If you are looking for a venue with large chandeliers and marble floors, this isn’t for you. It has this industrial modern/rustic look done tastefully with high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows letting in a lot of natural light (our photographer loved this), brick exposed walls, potted greenery scattered throughout and black steel-framed glass doors perfectly dividing one space from another. The Board Room, which served as our changing/waiting area for the evening, is a beautiful well-lit library. Second also offers furniture free of charge to go with the space perfectly – we opted for the long rectangular barn tables and round high bar tables, black steel-framed chairs, and tan leather couches. Although this was a personal preference (and the fact that everything in NYC is outrageously priced), I did not spend any money on flowers for our ceremony. Instead, we were able to use all the existing potted greenery. The room turned out gorgeous with the greenery used as a backdrop. Even for the reception, I didn’t do too much with the flowers – only a few bud vases per table along with candles. With the string lights over the dance floor, pendant lights over the rest of The Great Room, and uplights around the perimeter of the room, the space looked beautiful (a big shout out to Glen from Forrest Sound). We used the Big Screen (digital billboard installed outdoors in the plaza directly facing Second) to display a banner throughout the night and also a slideshow of our childhood/family photos during cocktail hour which turned out to be the biggest hit of the night. The location of the venue is excellent. It was important for us to make it as convenient as possible for our guests traveling distances to attend our wedding. Second is near several subway lines, Penn Station, and easy to get to/from all the major NY airports. Also, there are numerous hotels in the area in various price points giving out-of-town guests a lot of flexibility in their accommodation of choice. Lastly, and most importantly, the staff at Second was beyond amazing. We planned our wedding for 150 guests in three months without a wedding planner. In retrospect, it would have been impossible had it not been for Steven, Julie, Crystal, James, and the staff at Second. They were efficient, professional, patient, flexible, accommodating, informative, and good-spirited throughout the entire process. On the day of the wedding, the staff made sure everything ran smoothly, coordinated with all vendors, directed the guests, and made sure my husband and I only worried about enjoying our day. We are grateful to the staff for making our wedding day perfect and hope we get an opportunity to attend another event at Second in the near future.

. The cocktail hour room is awesome too-- a huge bar and retractable roof, so you can have an outdoor-feel if the weather is nice. There's also a huge digital screen outside that can show pics from your wedding. I usually think wedding food is a little blah, but the food and drinks here are genuinely great. Got tons of compliments. Most importantly, the people who work at SECOND are awesome. No need for a wedding planner- they took care of everything... were super responsive to all our questions. (We still keep in touch with them.) Seriously, zero stress. Highly recommend.

sts. The day of the event there were several items served that were expressly not on our menu and in violation of our contract. My family and several guests became seriously ill and the event was ruined. After apologizing and accepting responsibility for the mistakes they made, while we were negotiating an adjustment to our bill, they went ahead without consent and charged our credit card for the full amount! This venue is duplicitous and unscrupulous! DO NOT USE THEM!!!! There are lots of great places in the NYC area to use. SECOND isn't even second rate. They are the bottom of the barrel. They have no concern for the customer. They only care about making a buck any way they can, even if it means hurting their customers.

edding venue booked but due to complications, we were looking for alternative options. I was at SECOND floor for a work event, and when I walked in I immediately thought, wow- this space is so unique. The staff connected me with Coleen on the spot, who was heaven sent. She was so personable, understanding and right away wanted to help us make this our wedding venue and she did! The space is modern and industrial - which is exactly what we wanted. The private entrance into the venue with two amazing rooms (one for cocktail hour and one for reception) was great for our guests! The space for the band and dance floor was perfect. Steven and Coleen made our tasting and day of seamless. They were really interested in making us feel like it was our day and they absolutely succeeded in having us enjoy every moment! They were in lock step from the minute we connected until after the honeymoon, congratulating us and checking in. The location was great for pictures both outside in NYC (Madison Square Park, in the street with view of WTC) and is affiliated and connected to the Kimpton Hotel. We had many out of town guests and booking a room block there was so easy. We were not looking for your traditional venue but we also wanted the space to speak for itself. We had a vision for the day, and SECOND floor made it everything we could have imagined and more. We are still receiving compliments about the weekend, and we have Coleen, Steven and the entire staff at SECOND floor to thank for that.
