The staff at SECOND provided an outstanding wedding shower for my daughter! They were responsive, accommodating and professional. All of our needs were met and exceeded throughout the entire process. The space is magnificent, the food and presentation wonderful and the service exceptional. I can't say enough about the team and how pleased we were with absolutely everything. I highly recommend this venue for any social gathering. There's nothing better in NYC!

We looked at so many venues and there is simply no place like Second in Manhattan, or the tri-state area in general for that matter! The space is SO unique, and all of our guests were blown away by how beautiful, urban chic, and - despite being quite large - intimate it felt! The food was out of this world...not only was it beautiful in presentation (you won't find typical wedding food here!), but it was so delicious as well. And every aspect of the service was top-notch...from Julie and her team who worked with us leading up to the event to ensure that every detail was taken care of, to the all-star servers and bartenders on our wedding day who made sure our guests were never without a bite or a beverage! I often found myself thinking "this is to good to be true. these people are too wonderful, this space is too beautiful...are we really getting married here?!" Well it was all true, and we can't thank Second enough for making our day so incredible!

I work with Second all the time for events and love the venue and the staff- especially Julie Garces. Julie looks after every client like they're family and always goes above and beyond to make sure every event is special and memorable for the right reasons. Whether it's a corporate, charity or personal event Second is the gold standard of venues. I would highly recommend Julie and the rest of the staff at Second.

Our family and friends were split between locals and out of towners – we were both really excited to invite everyone to experience a New York City wedding. We visited a number of the typical NY wedding venues, but nothing compared to Second. We were fortunate to work with Steven and Crystal for our wedding. Crystal and Second were incredibly flexible and helpful. They were open to our suggestions/requests, and allowed us to make the wedding personal. At no time did we feel that we were being boxed into a cookie cutter wedding, or throwing the same party they have thrown there 100 times before. They made great suggestions and offered vendors that worked in the space, which really helped with logistics. On the day of, Steven and his team were everywhere and nowhere. It seemed that every time you needed something, they were by your side, but were out of sight for the entire night. The venue is so unique. The ceremony was able to handle our 220 guest count. The cocktail hour was awesome, with a large bar that was able to handle the guest count and enough passed food to keep everyone in great spirits. We were also able to link our photo booth to the big screen outside – it was one of the major talking points of the entire cocktail hour. Everyone loved pointing out their photos on the screen. The reception room (converted from the ceremony) was amazing to work with. The ceiling is a grid of wood beams, which offered flexibility for lighting and hanging florals. It enabled us to realize our vision as well as manage the costs of other vendors, as the set up was easy/low maintenance. The large glass windows gave a great NYC vibe, while the brick and columns gave the space and industrial and raw ambiance. Due to our larger guest count, we used the round tables (20) rather than the farm tables, and brought in our own chairs and table linens. The process was simpler than we expected, and the flexibility of Second made the vendor logistics easy to manage. We received a lot of compliments on the food. Everything was terrific.

Incredible venue!!! From start to finish, Julie and her team led me and my partner through all the steps with kindness and ease. Where to begin. The food! Such a delicious menu from Chef Laurent Tourondel, and they made sure to abide by all of our family's dietary restrictions perfectly. The venue is gorgeous, and we also loved the Big Screen! So much fun with Dave and the live photobooth display of our guests – everyone kept talking about it for days to come. Couldn't have had a more perfect wedding!

We loved our wedding at SECOND. After looking at a few venues we picked this one because the staff was so pleasant and easy from the first meeting. They were incredibly attentive and on top of every detail. We never had to ask for anything twice. Our guests were so impressed with the venue, service, and food. Multiple people repeated that it was hidden jewel location. Can't recommend it enough.

Julie Garces, et. al., were attentive, professional and patient throughout the process. From our first meeting to the last dance of the night, every detail was in place. During the evening, there was seamless communication between SECOND and all the vendors coming and going all day. The rooms and the views are great spaces. It's urban meets rustic meets NYC chic. Any couple would be in very pleased with the overall experience.

I honestly cannot convey how absolutely amazing everything about SECOND is. I would say that we are biased because this was our wedding, but I cannot tell you how many of our guests could not stop raving about the space, the food, the vibe and the service during the wedding and for weeks after. I have been to many weddings and so have our friends and family and everyone commented on how special and unique the venue was and how delicious the catering was. We had guests literally call siblings during cocktail hour to tell them they found their wedding venues and even our Rabbi called his event planner to tell her how special it was and how he'd never been anywhere like it. My husband and I scoured New York City and the surrounding boroughs to find something that we thought was different but still elegant and really struggled to find something until we found SECOND. It's an amazing mix of modern, industrial and classic NYC with lots of unexpected (and awesome) little surprises - the retractable roof, the Big Screen, the Library, etc. The in-house catering is wonderful and the entire team is incredibly helpful and accommodating - Julie, Crystal, Amanda and Charles all went above and beyond to ensure everything went off without a hitch. When planning a wedding vendors really can nickel and dime you and I never ever felt that way with SECOND. I honestly cannot recommend the venue or the team enough. SECOND was everything we dreamed of and then some - it was truly a party to remember for us and everyone there.

My husband and I continue to rave about the party we hosted at SECOND in February. The space was beautiful and edgy, the food was delicious, and using the billboard for our montage was a hit with our guests. Julie and her team were a pleasure to work with- they were always responsive to our questions and they were extremely accommodating with our preferences, even when changes were made the week of the event. I would be thrilled to use SECOND for another event.

As an Event Planner for high end clients and affairs, I pay close attention to detail. SECOND came in first for delivering a flawless wedding reception in a beautiful space with delicious food presented creatively. Our event was elegant, fun and festive thanks to the professional staff who went out of their way to make everything top notch. Julie Garces, Sales Director, was helpful and thorough throughout the entire process and made sure our every need was met. Finally, the jumbo video screen across the street was a huge hit with our guests and allowed us to project our montage on a continuous loop. All in all a five-star experience!

The whole team at SECOND made my wedding day such a fabulous experience. Everyone was so attentive to every single detail in order for the day to go exactly how we wanted. The food was wonderful from start to finish, and Julie and the kitchen team were so accommodating to all allergies our guests had. The venue itself is sooo stylish, and the Digital Billboard across from the venue was such a great touch! Everyone loved seeing photos of themselves taken throughout the night projected on to a huge outdoor screen. Thank you so much to the whole team for making our day so memorable!

Great venue!! After attending several cool events at Second my wife and I decided to have our wedding and reception there. Top notch all the way around. Low hassle experience from start to finish. Friendly and courteous staff and of course great food by Chef Laurent Tourondel. Thank you Second for making the start of this marriage a memorable one!

Second Floor is a unique venue that offers top notch service, delicious food, current ideas and professional and personable event coordinators. There was no stone left unturned from the beginning to the end of our event. The staff is responsive and responsible. The space is incredible, elegant, fun. It is a combination of cool industrial loft and warm and inviting. All of the food for adults and children alike was to perfection. Second Floor space and the people who work there get my highest recommendation!

SECOND was the perfect venue for my husband and I to celebrate our marriage with our friends and family. From start to finish it was an incredible experience. Working with their team (Maura, James, Charles and Crystal) was seamless. They listened to our endless requests with ease, and guided us through the process seamlessly. The food was AMAZING - and the space had the perfect vibe. The location was ideal for our friends and family in the city as well as NJ. FIVE STARS all around!

My wedding reception at Second was fabulous! Their team was extremely helpful and ensured my day was perfect. Our guests were very impressed with the space. The exposed brick, wall to wall windows with retractable roof, big bar all added to the aesthetic. Food was great and the servers were on top of it. All and all a really great experience.

Having my event at SECOND was the highlight of my year! My fiancé and I choose this gorgeous space for our engagement party.. I am still blown away, From start to finish our events manager crystal was there every step of the way...she ensured we got a chance to try every single item on our menu, our glasses never empty & our parents were looked after. The food is AMAZING & the SECOND team never misses a detail. Thank you so so much SECOND, don't be surprised if we have the rest of our milestone events there.

We got married at SECOND and picking this location for our venue was probably one of the best choices I made for the entire wedding! Absolutely everything was exceptional - the service, the food, the location. Julie, the Event Director, was incredible to work with. She helped relieve a lot of stress up to the wedding day, and was willing to talk to me as often as necessary to go through every little detail. Everything about our experience getting married at SECOND was 5-star. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough. They really make you feel like you're part of the family when you choose to get married here. NOT A SINGLE DETAIL MISSED. I wish we could go back and do it all again.

My husband and I had our celebration at SECOND and we couldn't have been more thrilled!! As local residents of NYC, we wanted to celebrate with our family and friends at a place that truly evoked all that this city has to offer. From food, music, decor and service, everything was incredible. Maura, our event planner, went above and beyond to make our night spectacular. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cool vibe without compromising professional and caring service from beginning to end.

I was at a party here where the menu was supposed to be gluten free. The guests were assured it was 100 percent gluten free party. When I sat down there were popovers on the table. They were delicious but then the waitress informed us they weren’t gluten free. The man sitting across from me spit it out. He was very upset. There were a number of people that got ill after the party. This is just completely irresponsible when you’re dealing with someone’s health. Seems they did not fulfill the contract. Would be very skeptical on using a venue that makes such HUGE mistakes

We recently got married at Second and we can’t express how happy we are with the choice we made. First, the food was AMAZING! When we had our tasting (which was perfect), I thought the food was great but did not expect food to be as good on the day of the wedding given that everything would be made in larger batches. But I was wrong! From every canape and drink to the signature LT popover, starter, main course, and mini desserts, the food was excellent! My mother loved the popovers so much that she went back to the hotel restaurants next day to try to buy them in bulk (sadly, they did not have them). Second, the venue is gorgeous and unlike any other in Manhattan. It's not a traditional wedding hall or hotel event space. If you are looking for a venue with large chandeliers and marble floors, this isn’t for you. It has this industrial modern/rustic look done tastefully with high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows letting in a lot of natural light (our photographer loved this), brick exposed walls, potted greenery scattered throughout and black steel-framed glass doors perfectly dividing one space from another. The Board Room, which served as our changing/waiting area for the evening, is a beautiful well-lit library. Second also offers furniture free of charge to go with the space perfectly – we opted for the long rectangular barn tables and round high bar tables, black steel-framed chairs, and tan leather couches. Although this was a personal preference (and the fact that everything in NYC is outrageously priced), I did not spend any money on flowers for our ceremony. Instead, we were able to use all the existing potted greenery. The room turned out gorgeous with the greenery used as a backdrop. Even for the reception, I didn’t do too much with the flowers – only a few bud vases per table along with candles. With the string lights over the dance floor, pendant lights over the rest of The Great Room, and uplights around the perimeter of the room, the space looked beautiful (a big shout out to Glen from Forrest Sound). We used the Big Screen (digital billboard installed outdoors in the plaza directly facing Second) to display a banner throughout the night and also a slideshow of our childhood/family photos during cocktail hour which turned out to be the biggest hit of the night. The location of the venue is excellent. It was important for us to make it as convenient as possible for our guests traveling distances to attend our wedding. Second is near several subway lines, Penn Station, and easy to get to/from all the major NY airports. Also, there are numerous hotels in the area in various price points giving out-of-town guests a lot of flexibility in their accommodation of choice. Lastly, and most importantly, the staff at Second was beyond amazing. We planned our wedding for 150 guests in three months without a wedding planner. In retrospect, it would have been impossible had it not been for Steven, Julie, Crystal, James, and the staff at Second. They were efficient, professional, patient, flexible, accommodating, informative, and good-spirited throughout the entire process. On the day of the wedding, the staff made sure everything ran smoothly, coordinated with all vendors, directed the guests, and made sure my husband and I only worried about enjoying our day. We are grateful to the staff for making our wedding day perfect and hope we get an opportunity to attend another event at Second in the near future.

We LOVED our wedding at SECOND. The venue itself is great-- exposed brick, wall to wall windows, columns and lots of greenery (there are tons of plants already there which help bring down the cost of flowers if that's the look you're going for). The cocktail hour room is awesome too-- a huge bar and retractable roof, so you can have an outdoor-feel if the weather is nice. There's also a huge digital screen outside that can show pics from your wedding. I usually think wedding food is a little blah, but the food and drinks here are genuinely great. Got tons of compliments. Most importantly, the people who work at SECOND are awesome. No need for a wedding planner- they took care of everything... were super responsive to all our questions. (We still keep in touch with them.) Seriously, zero stress. Highly recommend.

Bad Business Practices!!! DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR!!!! After discussing extensively that my family has severe allergies and celiac disease, several meetings including a meeting with the chef, Second assured us that they could safely feed our guests. The day of the event there were several items served that were expressly not on our menu and in violation of our contract. My family and several guests became seriously ill and the event was ruined. After apologizing and accepting responsibility for the mistakes they made, while we were negotiating an adjustment to our bill, they went ahead without consent and charged our credit card for the full amount! This venue is duplicitous and unscrupulous! DO NOT USE THEM!!!! There are lots of great places in the NYC area to use. SECOND isn't even second rate. They are the bottom of the barrel. They have no concern for the customer. They only care about making a buck any way they can, even if it means hurting their customers.

I can honestly say with a genuine smile on my face that SECOND Floor NYC was the ideal place for me and my husband to celebrate our wedding. Everything from the staff, food, ambiance/vibe and location exceeded our expectations. We had another wedding venue booked but due to complications, we were looking for alternative options. I was at SECOND floor for a work event, and when I walked in I immediately thought, wow- this space is so unique. The staff connected me with Coleen on the spot, who was heaven sent. She was so personable, understanding and right away wanted to help us make this our wedding venue and she did! The space is modern and industrial - which is exactly what we wanted. The private entrance into the venue with two amazing rooms (one for cocktail hour and one for reception) was great for our guests! The space for the band and dance floor was perfect. Steven and Coleen made our tasting and day of seamless. They were really interested in making us feel like it was our day and they absolutely succeeded in having us enjoy every moment! They were in lock step from the minute we connected until after the honeymoon, congratulating us and checking in. The location was great for pictures both outside in NYC (Madison Square Park, in the street with view of WTC) and is affiliated and connected to the Kimpton Hotel. We had many out of town guests and booking a room block there was so easy. We were not looking for your traditional venue but we also wanted the space to speak for itself. We had a vision for the day, and SECOND floor made it everything we could have imagined and more. We are still receiving compliments about the weekend, and we have Coleen, Steven and the entire staff at SECOND floor to thank for that.
