food is standard in quality for banquet food. However, there were several off-putting aspects of our experience working with them. First, we had to constantly be on top of our assigned planner to set up meetings and correct several errors in our BEO despite several emails with clear instructions on selections and preferences. Second, we paid them $300 to set up a ceremony table for us (with photo and video instructions), and they in turn made my mom not only set up the whole thing without help, but also clean it up afterwards; this was so disrespectful towards my mom and a complete waste of money. This led to the entire reception falling massively behind schedule as my mom was late for her dance with us. Third, they were not timely with serving food and desserts to our guests. There was a period of time where only one side of the reception tent had received their entrees and the other half had nothing on their tables; even our photographers noticed and commented on how disorganized it was. After our cake cutting, we had given them instructions to take the cake back and cut it to serve to guests. This did not happen until after the dance floor opened up, the cake had been sitting out for a long period of time, and I finally grew restless and went to the back kitchen to ask staff to take it back for cutting and serving. And fourth, they tried to send an email to us a few weeks before our wedding stating that they were changing their gratuity policy and were going to increase the charges for our wedding despite a previously signed contract stating otherwise. We had to threaten legal action and get the Morris Arboretum team involved for them to abide by our original contract. Overall, an unpleasant experience with this catering company and I cannot in good faith recommend them.

before our wedding date. Omar and Cathy served us personally throughout our wedding night, getting us our dinner, our drinks, and helping us cut our wedding cake correctly. I loved working with them, and I'd highly recommend Seedling & Sage for anyone with dietary restrictions, too! They are super accommodating and knowledgeable about dietary needs. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Working with Annette was an absolute pleasure -- she gave us a thorough overview of everything we needed to know and remained a valuable resource throughout the months leading up to the wedding. We met with her multiple times to go over our menu and timeline, and she even helped connect us with a representative at Party Rental LTD to finalize our table settings. On the day of the wedding, the Seedling and Sage team was incredibly professional and provided outstanding service. The food was phenomenal, and our guests couldn't stop raving about it. The team also ensured we had a sampling platter of all the passed hors d'oeuvres and mini desserts, which was such a thoughtful touch. We were beyond pleased with the service and are so grateful we chose Seedling and Sage for our special day.

Not only were they incredibly accommodating about us living out of state and needing some additional flex around things, but the food was amazing, the staff on the wedding day could not have been kinder, and our Sales Manager - Annette - was TRULY A GIFT during all of the madness of wedding planning. I want to say I emailed Annette approximately one million times with everything from very small, mildly insane questions, to big concerns or stressers. She always responded within a few hours, always made sure to reassure me that I was NOT being a bridezilla, and was so kind and accommodating and helpful. I truly cannot recommend this company enough (as would all of our wedding quests who had a fantastic time!). They really are the best!

oughout the wedding planning process (mind you, this is coming from a type-A bride!), but the day of my wedding could not have gone better. My guests were raving about the food and staff was kind, professional, and on schedule. I would 10/10 recommend!

Our wedding happened to be the same weekend as the Arboretum's Moonlight and Roses Gala, and we ended up booking the Big Tent from that event late in the planning game. Maggie was super helpful with coordinating the extra rentals we would need and designing a floor plan and rain plan for that new space. Maggie and the team did an amazing job with organizing all of the small details for big day. During the wedding, the staff were amazing, the food was excellent, and everything went so smoothly. Our guests especially loved the Philly Pharewell at the end of the night.

e all of the hard work from Maggie and the team to pull everything together, especially since it rained for almost the entire day, impacting our ceremony and cocktail hour -- they made it all so seamless. They had everything setup for the outdoor ceremony in those conditions and hustled for hours prior to make sure everything was in place. Further, their staff was very courteous and helpful; moments after the ceremony, a member of their crew was with us in the light rain with a plate of cocktail hour food, making sure we had our fill as we made the rounds with friends and family. Our guests unanimously agreed the entire day was amazing, from the food to the decor to the service! Highly recommend the Seedling & Sage team for your wedding, and any catered event.

gured if they can make a fully vegan wedding, they can definitely handle fish and chicken, and they certainly can. The food was the best we've ever had at a wedding and the service was top notch. Our vegan/vegetarian friends said the black bean enchiladas were the best entree they'd ever had at a wedding. It was the best night of our lives and Seeding and Sage played a big role in making it special. Maria was our point of contact and she did a great job with customizing our menu and scheduling a private tasting since we couldn't attend the regularly scheduled one. Definitely get the tartlets.

e team was the right partner for the kind of wedding we were going for - warm, family focused, chill. Annette and her team were very accommodating throughout the process. We had a couple requests - unique salad and using no seed oils in the kitchen - and the S+S executed everything so well! Communication was so easy - this is the budget - here are the options - clear calendar on when all decisions must be made I would highly recommend S+S, everyone loved the food, table scapes, and service. I personally loved the communication, honesty in pricing/budget, and execution of the vision.

appetizer displays were beautiful and the slider bar choices were outstanding. Our guests were very pleased. Be sure to order the chocolate mousse shooters for dessert. You will not be disappointed!

t the customer service they provide is unmatched. We got married in the Fall at the Morris Arboretum and our wedding planner from Seedling and Sage, Maggie, was an absolute gem. She went above and beyond to ensure that everything for our very special day was perfect. We unfortunately had the challenge of rain on our wedding day and Seedling and Sage was able to turn our entire outdoor ceremony/cocktail hour into an amazingly beautiful indoor event. Because of them we got to enjoy our wedding day and we were able to easily manage all stressors with their expert help. I can’t imagine my wedding day without them.

She was so friendly, helpful, and really wanted to make our day tailored to us. She worked with the chef to make a couple of changes to the menu to accommodate our tastes and she helped me pick out the most beautiful place settings and linens that made the whole room shine and feel extra special! We have heard from multiple guests how great the food was - from the appetizers to the entrees - everything was delicious. But even beyond the food, with the multiple months of preparation and organization that goes into planning a wedding, having a caterer like Seedling and Sage by your side to make you feel confident that the food will be amazing, you haven't forgotten anything, and the day will run smoothly, was the biggest blessing of all. I went into my wedding day at ease, because I knew it was going to be great, but it was even better than expected. I can't thank Annette and her entire team enough!

60 guests. We inquired about reducing our total bill to match this (made sense to us since we literally weren’t allowed to have our full guest list per government mandates) but were told that seedling was handling this issue by spreading contracts out across multiple, smaller events. They offered to cater our rehearsal dinner and a day-after brunch in order to fulfill our contract. Not exactly what we wanted to hear as we would have loved to just reduce the guest count and final balance, but we understood so we went with it. The food was great! We got a ton of compliments from our guests all weekend, including some very picky eaters. The communication not so much. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt since a lot of couples were rescheduling and postponing so I know they had to be crazy busy, however there were instances when we reached out via email multiple times with questions or to follow up on something and didn’t receive a response until we finally called, a week or two later. Even with all the craziness of weddings changing due to Covid, at the end of the day they were still our most expensive vendor (about 12k), so we felt that we definitely deserved more communication. My husband and I are super organized and responsive to emails so we expected that of our vendors in return and Seedling didn’t really deliver on that for us. Our coordinator with Seedling tried to push us to move the location of our wedding to one of their exclusive venues because Covid restrictions were less strict there (different counties). This wasn’t great for us because we felt that just because we COULD move our wedding to a different venue with less strict rules, doesn’t mean we SHOULD, just to get around restrictions. We are also very attached to our venue and had no interest in moving, no matter what the restrictions looked like, and thought that it was overstepping for them to bring it up multiple times. On the wedding day, our day-of coordinator told us that she couldn’t get Seedling to stay on task while they were setting up, and that they were just generally all over the place. Chairs were set up at the ceremony site super late (I saw their staff running around with chairs confused as we were doing our first look) and my day-of coordinator had to ask Seedling multiple times to begin setting up reception tables as they were running out of time. My florist also commented that the catering team did not seem organized as she was setting up our centerpieces. Everything ended up coming together and looking absolutely beautiful, and the food really was amazing, but working with Seedling was difficult, especially compared to our other vendors. They did not stick to the planning timeline that was set out for us either (assigned a coordinator three months out, go over menus two months out etc) and we had to keep reaching out and following up to get the ball rolling on things. If you’re more laid back and ok with not getting a ton of communication or attention leading up to your event then Seedling will probably be great for you. If you’re more organized and are looking for a caterer that will respond quickly and stay on top of things then I would probably look elsewhere.

I reached out to Darcy about catering and from our first conversation she eased my very nerves right away. THANK YOU! Darcy's professionalism and attention to detail made our very short planning process easier. The food was AWESOME! We were so happy that we had the opportunity to have their food. Our guests could not stop talking about the chicken and waffles and cheese steak cigars. The salmon and chicken were cooked perfectly. Also, their cornbread is some of the best cornbread I've ever had in my life. Ann, our captain was the best! We couldn't have been happier. Than you so much to whole team! Hiring Seedling and Sage was the best decision in our wedding planning process.

The professional and friendly staff, clean venue, and attention to details was all we could ask for given the current pandemic.

fusively positive things I have to say about them without sounding like I got paid to write this (I promise I didn't - although Seedling if you want to send a chicken and waffle bite on a stick this way, I won't be mad! :) Darcy was 100% professional from start to finish - my wife and I both remarked more than once on this sort of intangible quality she has to make you feel totally assured that everything is under control - and make you believe it (because its true - its under control). And given how involved wedding planning can be, that sense that someone else is entirely capable and you can really lean on them to deliver is such a blessing. My wife is a vegetarian and I am not, and my family is from the south while hers is largely from the north east so we had some widely ranging taste buds, and Seedling was willing and able to accommodate, coming up with a beautiful autumnal bbq menu that catered to many different tastes. We were able to tweak and customize and make it exactly what we wanted it to be. The communication throughout the planning was 10/10 - Darcy was clear, concise, and quick to reply or reach out of if there was information she needed from us. She came to an in person walkthrough of the venue, met some of our other vendors, and again just made us feel like we were in great hands. The day of honestly went better than we could have even thought to hope - the tables looked absolutely breathtaking, the stations were lovely, the food was delicious (we had friends and family remarking on the h'or de oeuvres for a week). And the staff...wow. I mean literally to a person, they were kind, gracious, hospitable, and warm. The captain for the evening, Ann, was wonderful. She kept things on time, ensured the food was hot, the service was crisp - she was great. I just cannot say enough good things about the entire experience. I would hire Seedling and Sage for any event I ever needed catered, in a heartbeat. They were worth every penny and more. A huge thank you to Darcy and the team for making our wedding magical.
