The schedule was largely unchanged for the DJ, despite the fact that the wedding was pushed back half an hour by rain. His schedule didn't start until 7:30'ish and the wedding cere...
mony concluded just before 7. He was instructed to follow the timeline provided.
The primary problem came at dinner time, when it clearly stated in the instructions given to call each table in numerical order. He started with table 13 and skipped around. Table 1/2/3 were my family and the bridal party...but they got called near to the end. People were still sitting around without food at 8:30pm even though specific instructions were given to call a new table every 1-1.5 minutes. The idea was to keep the flow going, not to wait until each table received food before calling the next table.
Between 8:30-9:00, I made half a dozen trips over to his table to ask for the first dance to be announced, the final visit being with the bride alongside me (because she was not happy that I was being ignored). The DJ actually asked us if we wanted to wait for the current song to end or just cut to the first dance song....duh.
One of our guests mentioned later that he had the same DJ at his wedding and experienced similar issues, although he used some more derogatory language to describe that situation.
Overall this was a very mediocre DJ company at a decent price. If we had it to do again, might have paid another $50 for someone who was more on top of things.

eally was looking for. Was able to talk to my Dj (Dj Jose who was phenomenal!) before the wedding to answer any last minute questions. My Dj arrived early and worked well within my designed timeline and photographer. Dj Jose kept my husband I happy with our music choices and my guest happy with theirs. I highly recommended and will use Selby Entertainment again!!!

eremony started late but went wonderful! our reception on the other hand... needed help. it seemed to be going nowhere as quick as it could! joseph saw i needed help and jumped in. he, and my photographer, saw what i needed and gave me options and then made it all happen. joseph even went and found someone to serve the cake!! he led us in all the traditional reception activities. he deserved every penny and more!
as far as the music, i really didnt know what songs i wanted on our playlist and was getting overwhelmed. he told me not to worry and to just tell him what i did know and what style i wanted and he would take care of the rest. we wanted the music to be really clean and it definitely was that! i'm not sure that i stressed enough how upbeat i wanted it to be because it was a little on the slower side (praise and worship type). and there was a slight mix up with the song selection for our first dance, but everything worked out wonderfully! i would definitely recommend him to anyone!!!

dding-- we go along very well at our meeting. He and the owner had me fill out a 10 page packet of what i wanted. Lets just say, he never showed up to my wedding rehearsal and the night of the wedding he never played one of my requested songs, didn't announce the garter toss and started the "1st dance" song while i was in another room! I emailed the owner after the wedding adn she forwarded my email to the DJ instead of calling me to discuss! He left me a very rude voicemail-- very unprofessional.
Selby Entertainment did an exception job as the DJ at our wedding reception. The DJ sent to assist us was Amanda, while we were skeptical at first, our fears were quickly dismissed...
. The DJ, Amanda, was ready to go before our ceremony even began, and she brought along special light effects as well, as we had requested at our booking. Amanda was a wonderful DJ that did a great job announcing our bridal party as we entered, as well as announcing all the other events as necessary throughout the course of our reception! We couldn't have asked for a more fun, respective, outgoing DJ! The songs played at our wedding helped to keep the guests involved and enjoying themselves. The overall quality for Selby Entertainment is by far a 5 star rating. The price we paid was also an exceptional value considering what we received. We give Selby Entertainment "2 thumbs up!"
