As a surprise to me, he played the Bowling Green fight song which made me and all of my college friends so happy! We also had a photo booth through them and it was so worth it! I love receiving a photo album with everyone's pictures and sweet messages inside. It's a wonderful souvenir from our wedding that we got to take home that night! I would HIGHLY recommend going with Selective Sound as your DJ/Lighting company!

Some things we especially liked: - Jay R was extremely responsive via all forms of communication - Jay R was perfectly accommodating of our requests, but he was also real with us (in a way that was polite yet clear) about the things that, in his experience, typically 'work' for weddings -- something we newbies really appreciated - It was such a relief to have Jay R for our ceremony, which went perfectly; his mic-jobs (two lapel mics, one on a stand) were perfect and discreet - True to his word, Jay R vamped one of our processional songs with a smooth crossfade that probably zero people noticed - Jay R didn't just care about getting his own job done and getting outta there; he seemed to have all vendors' itineraries in his head at once -- he was essentially our point man for the entire evening, for all things, not just music (and in that way, he partly helped us to plan the wedding!) - The extent to which Jay R interacted with the crowd was just right -- I wouldn't have asked for any more or any less - One of our favorite things: we made a lot of Play-If-Possible song requests that probably weren't very wedding-friendly (e.g. the full studio version of Richard Harris's "MacArthur Park"), but Jay R managed to play a truly amazing percentage of them, and all at the perfect moments - Jay R was immediately responsive to the movements (as it were) of the dance floor; he'd start a song and, if it wasn't catching, smoothly beatmatch it with another song and move on - To top it all off, Jay R has a cheerful personality and a great sense of humor!

Our venue was Cleveland City Hall which has extremely high ceilings making the acoustics a little tricky. He went above and beyond to make sure the speakersand microphones were so clear for both the music and speeches. We also got SO many compliments on the lighting as it set the tone for the evening. Overall, Jay R, Brian, and everybody else at SSE was very helpful and accommodating.

We live in Columbus so he did not hesitate to Skype us at anytime of the day that worked best for us. At the ceremony and reception the music was PERFECTLY timed and everyone was up dancing once the reception started, even the elderly attendees who don't like to move much. We received compliments from all of our guests about Marcus and we highly recommend them for any event that is in need for DJ services.

for the band to play. Jay R sent me a long list of all the songs the band can play, and I picked out 8 must-play songs as well as over 20 "play if possible" songs. I was under the impression that the band would work them into the set list and I spent so much time deliberating on which songs to add to my list for the perfect night of music. I even made clear notes for which songs I wanted the band to play and which songs I wanted the DJ to play. Well, the band made absolutely zero effort to incorporate my "play if possible" songs, and instead, the only songs that I actually wanted to hear on my wedding were seven must play songs. I received NO communication indicating that the band would not be playing the songs in which I clearly marked BAND. You can imagine my shock and disappointment when on the day of my wedding I had to dance to songs I don't even know. What a waste of time. Why send the list of all the songs the band knows if they are not going to play them? To top things off, while the DJ was trying to solve this catastrophe a text popped up on his phone from JAY R saying "Let me guess... the band opened up the dance floor and the bride is upset because they're not playing her songs." How unprofessional Jay R. Clearly this issue has happened several times in the past since you were so able to "guess" what the problem was. How about a warning to not waste my time picking out my favorite songs? I also wish you reached out to me to apologize for your poor communication and lack of professionalism. In summary, my experience with Selective Sound Entertainment and specifically Jay R was my least favorite thing about my wedding. My advice for Jay R is to tell brides to pick 8 must play songs, and trust the band after that instead of making it seem like we have any say beyond that.

He went above and beyond for me. He was always EXTREMELY responsive and could not have been more of a class act. His level of professionalism and wonderful service is what all DJ’s should aspire too. Furthermore, I personally feel that any DJ who is just starting out would be privileged to train under Marcus. Marcus is kind and makes you feel like an immediate friend. The level of engagement between him and the guests is off the charts. I am honored to say that Marcus Jordan was apart of the best day of my life and will recommend him, and SSE to any person who asks. It could not have been any more perfect.

This just told me that this is a vendor that I can trust and that they truly have their clients at heart and not just making money. Once we officially hired them as our DJ, Devin Moore was provided as our formal DJ. Devin was incredible! We had an initial phone call with him to go over our plan as we got closer to our wedding date. We even had a happy hour meeting a couple weeks before just so we could meet in person and get a feel for each other. The day of the wedding, Devin was incredible and kept people on the dance floor ALL NIGHT LONG! The sound was great, the songs were great and the interaction with the crowd was impeccable. I strongly recommend Devin Moore and Selective Sound Entertainment for all of your entertainment needs!

The day of the wedding he made sure that everything was running smoothly and on time. He was a great MC and DJ. We got so many compliments on the music and his personality. I would’ve been heartbroken if I saw all of my guests being wallflowers. But, Devin M with Selective Sound Entertainment made sure that my guests spent the majority of their night dancing! He listened to every request I made and kept the party going! Devin was also very professional. He was the life of the party when he needed to be, and commanded the attention of the room when we were ready to take large group photos, make a toast, or cut the cake. He really helped “run the show”. Trust me, you want people who are willing to be in command and grab peoples attention, because wrangling 160 partially intoxicated friends and family members is NOT something you want to do on your big day. He kept those moments so stress free for me, and for that, I am so very grateful! Our wedding was in a very large pavilion, and I worried the sound would be really hard to master, but he did it perfectly! The speeches were clear and the music wasn’t blaring to make up for the lack of walls. Two friends of ours, who will be getting married at the same location next year, even asked us for his information, because they were so impressed with his work. The entire process, from meeting initially with Jay R at their office, to Skyping and Emailing with Devin (I live in NC, while our wedding was in Ohio), was so easy and relaxed. It was like talking to an old friend. I am so so appreciative of the work that Devin put into making our day as perfect as we had hoped it would be!

You log in to your account and you can fill out a timeline of your wedding day, the names of the people in your bridal party, and then you pick all your special songs. You can make changes as many times as you want until 1 week before the wedding! After that, I just texted my DJ with a last minute change. They helped make my wedding perfect! (Seriously! Not a single thing went wrong!)

exactly what we wanted. We used 2 70 inch TV's for SocialCast- a program where guests can hashtag photos and they will then be displayed on the TVs. We also used the TV's to live stream the ball drop. Lastly, SSE provided confetti cannons for the midnight celebration. This was truly a production and work of art. We had sound technicians, someone to run the TV's and of course our DJ/MC Marcus. I could tell all staff were prepped and organized and knew exactly what to do when it came to our wedding. DJ Marcus understood the age and vibe of the crowd but also did a phenomenal job pleasing our guests with their song requests. Marcus and the entire staff was very professional and prepared. I would recommend SSE, Marcus, and Jay R to anyone.

We also used Selective Sound for uplighting & videography. Uplighting was gorgeous in the City View Room at Windows on the River. Matt was our main videographer and he was so amazing as well. Him & my photographer bonded right away and worked together to get some incredible shots. I can't wait to see the finished product. I've learned over the past year that planning a wedding is insanely stressful, but if you want to take some of that stress away, Selective Sound is your best choice :)

orth kept us calm in even the craziest of times and the services he provided were above and beyond what we ever thought we would have at our wedding. The first service was DJ and boy did he have everyone dancing! He had the crowd going wild from the moment the dance floor opened until the night ended! Our guests were all asking who our DJ was - before the wedding was even over! The second service was our uplighting - if I could post pictures, you would see the amazing job he did transforming our venue. To top off all this beautiful decor he provided us with the much sought after mirror photo booth - which was a huge hit and produced absolutely awesome memories. The kicker of the night was the sparkular display which was perfectly timed and had the crowd roaring all night. Not only is SSE amazing to work with but he is easy and will make sure that you get through all the necessary evils of a wedding while still making sure you have an awesome time! I wish we could re-do our wedding all over again and we would hire JR and SSE in a heart beat!

He followed my crazy playlists as well as stepped in and made sure things ran on time and moved along. He was very interactive with our guests and I really liked that. The uplighting, pin spot, light programming and gobo were all so amazing. I was in awe when I walked into our reception.
