This company was very professional. We had concerns and they handled them immediately. Their customer service is excellent. Highly met recommended.!
The food was ok we did heavy appetizers. Also a meat carving station The guest didn’t like the prime rib was rare. They wanted it more cooked. My experience with this company was amazing their customer service and making things right they were on top of!
A very pleased and surprisingly impressed Bride here. Brie is exceptional and angelic. She listened to my COVID bride self who had cancelled 2 weddings and made the third time the charm by giving me the Persian appetizers of my dreams without anyone doubting the caterer and never noticing they were not Persian. I never thought I could trust a non-Persian caterer. Priya you rock! Chiefs you were so patient with me and took all my feedback from tasting. The Persian cake of my dreams was delivered to me beyond my wildest dreams. Servers were so fast and clean and the bartenders warmed the hearts of my guests. Everyone jumped in and helped when it poured rain and went beyond their job duties. One critical feedback was that despite multiple meetings and pictures the buffet tables were placed outside instead of inside and the bartenders were positioned in the middle of the buffet room with a messy look instead of the elegant wooden bar I had paid $500 for!! It was super tacky. Captain needed to stick to plan and I have no idea why that did not happen. Regardless I give them a five over all. Brie was the glue and the magician.
Let me start by saying that the food was absolutely delicious which is really what you are hiring a caterer for. The jalepeno gouda mashed potatoes were to die for and the flank steak and chimichurri tasted so good! They allowed us to customize all aspects of our menu and everyone really enjoyed the food! We were even able to do breakfast burritos as a late night snack for after dancing!
However, there were a couple of errors along the way that I think are worth mentioning so other couples are aware. When we got our quote with Serendipity, linens/flatware/plates/etc were included which is done through a separate company Event Rents. While we absolutely understand this means they do not have control or possibly up to date estimates on costs, our quote grossly underestimated what would be needed for our event. For example, Serendipity was aware that we were doing a buffet and a bar but no linens were included for those in the quote. Even the most basic plates, napkins and glassware cost more per person which we found out only months before the wedding and well after guests had been invited and we had made commitments. Additionally, on the day of the wedding, Serendipity did not bring mixer for one of our signature drinks, a margarita. This was not discovered until cocktail hour had already begun. Our day-of coordinator solved the problem as quickly as possible by sending out someone to get said mixer, which was luckily found as we were at a relatively remote venue. However, it left us being unable to serve or personally enjoy one of our favorite drinks until much later in the evening and resulted in us having a lot of left over mix which we had paid for but was not used.
We certainly understand that errors are bound to pop up occasionally with wedding and large event planning but it was disappointing nonetheless.
Serendipity was a great vendor to work with. We were complimented on our food many times. They also worked with us to help us stay within our budget, were quick with communications, and super friendly along the way. Priya, Brie, and Makayla were amazing!
Serendipity Catering, a preferred partner of Varone Market Venue, shines brightly for their exceptional catering services. Their dedication to sustainability, innovative menus, and personalized service ensures every event is not only memorable but also eco-conscious. Serendipity's ability to craft unique culinary experiences tailored to each client's vision makes them a standout choice for those seeking a caterer that goes above and beyond, truly deserving of a five-star rating.
We used Serendipity for our wedding after seeing them in action for High Tea at Cherokee Ranch Castle. We were impressed by the food and service, and since we were in the market for a caterer, decided to give them a shot.
At our first tasting, we picked out a couple dishes that were maybe a little more on the edge of what we wanted, but settled on our appetizers, sides and salad. We scheduled a second tasting a few weeks later with new entrees. The second tasting settled the menu quickly and we didn't look back. Throughout the whole process, Emily and her team were incredibly responsive and helped us manage our rental needs as well.
On the day of our event, everything went off without a hitch. The appetizers and flow (charcuterie) were a hit. The bartenders handled our guests efficiently, as there was never a huge line, and our signature cocktails were popular throughout the evening!
The food was great, even the pickiest of eaters at our wedding told us afterward that they enjoyed their dinner that night! One of the coordinators even went out and got milk for our 1 year-old niece at one point. The service from Raven, Joe and their team was simply phenomenal! Serendipity will help make your wedding a memorable day for sure.
We hired Serendipity for our wedding cocktail hour at Denver Botanic Gardens, and they were fantastic from start to finish! We really appreciated Emily's flexibility and thoroughness throughout the planning process as well as how Serendipity worked with us to accommodate the dietary needs of our guests (lots of vegan and gluten-free folks).
Everything on the day-of went off without a hitch as well! Dorian and her team did an excellent job; they were professional, attentive, and courteous throughout the cocktail hour.
Highly recommend; thanks, Serendipity!
Serendipity was a perfect choice for our Colorado wedding. Emily, Jillian and the staff took care of everything. Our plated, 40 person reception was top notch. The staff on site were efficient and quiet during service and clearing and every guest in attendance commented on the exceptional quality of the food.
Serendipity catering is the one vendor that I cannot express enough gratefulness to. They made my entire wedding perfect and went above and beyond my expectations and hopes. Above all, my catering captain Marley was incredible. She deserves the world and if you are thinking about this company for any catering event, she’s the woman to ask for. Not only does serendipity allow you to completely customize your menu, they also will strive to meet all your expectations with desserts, decorations, and event management. They truly care about their clients and not just trying to make money. The food was delicious and I have still, weeks later not stopped receiving compliments on the food. Moreover, the linens and dinnerware they provided were beautiful and they helped my crew to set up things that they weren’t even contracted to help with. They are all kind and respectful people and made my husband and I feel so special. Please do not hesitate to hire serendipity catering for any of your catering needs!
We used Serendipity as our wedding caterer and couldn't have been more pleased. I loved working with Brie. During dinner my husband and I looked at each other and commented that somehow everything we chose tasted even better than when we had our tasting! From the cocktail hour service and appetizers to dinner service during the reception, Serendipity's onsite staff was phenomenal. It rained the entire day but they were troopers about it. Dillon, the onsite catering lead, handled everything professionally, and even more impressive, he did it all with a huge smile on his face. I highly recommend Serendipity for any event. They will not disappoint!
From the booking/planning process to the last minute of our reception, we couldn't be more thrilled! The food was delicious; us and our guests were thrilled to have a hearty meal after the ceremony. The waiters, bartender and catering captain went out of their way to not only do the normal catering activities, but to help with set up, tear down and everything in between. Between them and our coordinator we had nothing to worry about.
We hired Serendipity to cater our wedding just a few days ago and our guests are still making comments about how amazing the food was!
Serendipity was incredibly easy to work with. Our contact Brie was responsive, provided helpful ideas for entree choices, and incredibly patient as we emailed her what seemed like weekly to make menu changes.
We opted for stationed appetizers, a buffet dinner, and they also provided great bartenders. Our catering captain Sam routinely checked in with us during the day and made sure to refill our glasses whenever needed. She also had a plate of appetizers waiting for us in our bridal suite immediately after the ceremony.
They were even kind enough to take care of and set up our Crumbl cookie order that we provided ourselves as our dessert option.
I can't recommend them enough, Serendipity killed it!
Where do I even begin? I cannot tell you how many of our guests personally came up to us to tell us how absolutely blown away they were with the food and service. It was beyond delicious!!! Brie and Raven and their teams were absolutely incredible to work with and I cannot put into words how grateful I am to have found them and hired them. Absolute 10/10. Book them!!! You will not regret it.
Wow! We hired Serendipity to cater our wedding and were amazed! Food was absolutely delicious! Appetizers as well as dinner was amazing! The team was incredible! So easy to talk to and work with! Would hire them again in a second!

We couldn’t say anything better about Serendipity. They went over the top for our food ideas and they truly made the process go so smoothly.
Serendipity Catering was great from start to finish! Izabela was our wedding sales specialist and she was absolutely fantastic. We were on a fairly tight budget and Izabela was so accommodating and responsive throughout the entire process. The food was delicious and everything went so smoothly on the day of our wedding, it was completely stress-free! Our day of coordinator, Phil, was excellent as well. All of the catering staff and the bartender were great for that matter. We served food buffet style and Phil went out of his way to make my husband and I plates so we could sit down with our drinks and mingle instead of waiting in line. We would highly recommend Serendipity Catering. Great food, fantastic service, and at a reasonable price!
We LOVE Serendipity! Jillian was an incredible catering captain. She was so kind and accommodating as well as professional and helpful. The food was great and we had so many guests raving about all courses of the meal. The buffet was easy, set up was beautiful, and we feel like they really had a handle on our wedding - we never felt like they didn’t know what was going on. We planned our wedding out of state and they allowed my parents to go to the tasting and us to FaceTime them while they were there - not ideal, but still so special and my parents loved it! We also had a guest cancel last minute because of COVID and they allowed us to make that change which meant a lot as it was beyond our control. Thank you, Jillian and Team! We appreciate you making our wedding day so special!
Serendipity catering has an amazing staff and made our wedding outstanding! My catering captain Willie Nielsen was on top of everything at the event and made myself and all the guests feel special and well taken care of. Willie and his staff also went above and beyond when we had bad weather by coming up with a whole new layout for cocktail hour and dinner saving the day! Then when the evening was over they helped us pack up our cars and made sure we were happy and had everything, Willie was an amazing leader! Additionally, all the food from cocktail hour to the cake was so amazing the guests couldn’t stop talking about the food and that after the wedding everyone wanted to know who we used! Furthermore, the amazing florist, Julie Winje, went above and beyond to make sure I got peonies on my wedding day when there was no guarantee due to it being the end of the season along with bad weather and decorated all the aspects of my wedding beautifully!
I cannot say enough great things about Serendipity!!! I am SO thrilled we hired them for our wedding. From the initial tasting, to making a bunch of edits to the menu, dialing in a custom dish and then the execution was amazing!!!!! I got a vegan cake that was the best cake i've ever had, it also looked GORGEOUS! The food was even better than our tastings and everyone loved it! All the staff was incredible! So thrilled with my choice!
Serendipity is amazing. They were my one stop shop, did my food, cake and flowers! Hands down the best people I have ever worked with. The best customer service I have ever received, I have so much to say. They literally saved my wedding day.
They were the only caterers that sent me a pre planned menu with quote after one email verse going into a million questions. It made me stress free and convenient because I moved to another state.
Flew to Colorado and did the tasting while under COVID guidelines. They set up a beautiful table and made it a beautiful experience. The food of course was amazing. We had the Colorado peach chicken, flank steak and stuffed portabello mushroom. I wish I could have ate all of them at the wedding.
The day of the wedding, the food was delicious and the staff was professional! I heard good things about the food, a couple people did tell me they had to send the chicken back to cook a little longer, my chicken was perfect. They even boxed up extra food for us to eat later.
Our cake was amazing and gorgeous. Everything tasted amazing although I didn't want to cut into my cake because it was stunning. We had hazelnut chocolate and vanilla almond soak.
The floral arrangement was absolutely perfect, it was breath taking. I still cannot believe how perfect your team made my day and help all the way up to the wedding.
...
Amory was my coordinator and was always quick to respond. Super nice and fun to talk to.
Raven was my catering captain or should I say queen! She made everything look so easy and was super organized at all times. After COVID my venue canceled on me 7 weeks to the wedding and these two girls went the extra mile and sent me a list of venues that they worked with in the past, and I ended up picking one of them.
Laura the owner was and is very pleasant. Helped me with my cake tasting and sent us cupcakes (dry iced) to texas. That was a fun experiance.
THANK YOU
We went with their bbq style menu and had bbq pork and chicken and oh my goodness was it delicious! The staff was amazing and the communication was so perfect! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We had our wedding in evergreen and they traveled to use with no issues at all! Thank you!!
Serendipity was the caterer for our wedding on 10/13/19. I don't even think a review will do them justice. They were incredible from beginning to end. The person I first spoke with was Sarah. She was always helpful, super responsive, and helped me build the menu I wanted. I asked A LOT of questions (I'm a tad annoying) so Sarah having patience for me the entire time was a miracle.
Once we chose Serendipity, my account was given to Whitney. I cannot stress enough how amazing Whitney was the entire way. When we had our meeting with my venue, Whitney volunteered to help with coordination. I am not sure what is considered "part of the job description" but I know for a fact she went above and beyond what she needed to do. I live across the country from my friends and family, so she offered to help me with design and layout and was incredibly communicative via text, phone and email.
On the day of the wedding, Whitney and the entire Serendipity staff saved the day. My venue had very odd "rules" when it came to setup time, which made it rather difficult for us to prep everything in a calm matter. My mom was spending so much time setting up the tables that she barely had time to spend with me in the bridal suite. However, once Serendipity arrived, Whitney and the staff pretty much told my mom to stop as they were going to take over. I'm so thankful for this team - it allowed my mom and bridesmaids to spend less time setting up and more time with me.
Then, at the end of the night, the staff didn't let any of us lift a finger. They packed EVERY SINGLE THING into the bins we brought and put together a wonderful array of food for us to take home. Like I said, this review won't do it justice. Just know that if you choose Serendipity, you will have great food and service and be working with incredibly friendly and professional people.
Great experience! Serendipty coordinated so well with our vendor. Great menu. Responsive. Down to earth. 100% happy with our choice.
I highly highly recommend them! Sarah and Raven helped me so much from day one. I had absolutely no idea what to expect and what to do when it came to planning most of my wedding and they went above and beyond for me. Everyone raved about their food as well. Can't thank them enough for everything.
The food serendipity provided for our wedding was delicious and the service was excellent. The menu they came up with was right in line with what we wanted and Amory, our server captain, made sure the night went off perfectly. Thanks to all!
First, the pros: Jillian, our catering captain is AH-MAY-ZING! She was careful to understand my vision, executed it perfectly, and was so attentive the day of our event.
Now, the less than positive: The food was mediocre at best. I mean, you kind of expect that at a wedding, but you hope that with the prices you're paying it will be good. Our meat (beef, fortunately) ranged from well-done to rare, but with no indication of which was which. The bread was stale.
The worst thing about this company though is the office. While I had great communication with Jillian, apparently my sales person left the company (good call, Kandis!) and my account was handed off to someone working in Florida. Now, mind you I and my event and the company are all based in Colorado, so having someone who quits work at 3 in the afternoon each day (local time) is vexing. The fact that the office and my catering captain were not in communication added a layer of complication, combined with the fact that I was never informed that my account had been passed off to someone new. I had experienced great communication with Kandis in the beginning (conveniently through the deposit and contract), but the new person never reached out. Not. ONCE. I did not even know who she was. I was contacting the main office (and playing the pass off game) trying to make final payment when I was told that I had not given my final count (I had communicated that to my captain as she was my only point of contact, but apparently it was supposed to go to the unknown Amory).
There are many options in catering. You can choose better than Serendipity.
Serendipity has really good food. They cater to various food allergies, as well, which was necessary for my wedding because my side of the family has a myriad of different food allergies. Pricing was decent, not too expensive, but middle of the road. The tasting we went to was great; they were very friendly and had set up a little table for us and let us take home leftovers. The catering captain and assistant that came to my wedding were great. They were very helpful and friendly. That's about where my positive comments end.
The negative:
Once you book with them, good luck getting a response. We tried several times to add some items to our menu that we hadn't thought of when we initially contact them, however, no one from Serendipity ever responded to the emails. The phone just went to voicemail. I understand that they're a popular catering company around Denver and do quite a few events, but it'd still be nice to get a response. We had someone show up to our final meeting with the venue before the wedding. She was very friendly and had quite a few suggestions on how to improve the menu, all small alterations or swapping a dish for something that suited the overall menu better, all of which we agreed with. However, I could never get an updated invoice reflecting the changes and come wedding day, none of those changes happened. They also allowed one of our guests to pay for our invoice months before we had finalized the menu - 1, I find this grossly inappropriate due to the fact that my now husband and I vocalized to all of our friends and family that we were paying for the entire wedding ourselves and did not want monetary assistance with it; and 2, the menu wasn't finalized yet and they never checked with us to find out if that would be the final bill. I understand that this was supposed to be a loving gesture, but I do not like how it was handled.
Overall, I'd say that Serendipity is probably great for company events. I do not recommend them for a wedding.
Serendipity was so helfpul!! Everything went smoothly and they were ready for anything on the day of the wedding!! Plus the food was delicious! We wanted something thay felt like home cooking and they created the most perfect menu! Every other catering company we talked to was too fancy and formal with their food, serendipity was on point! Planning process went smoothly as well!
We used Serendipity for catering for a welcome party we had for everyone invited to the wedding and they were TERRIFIC! We rented several tables and chairs, as well as food from them, and they were great. We got a delicious taco bar and everyone raved about it. They were on time and extremely professional, for sure would work with them again.
Serendipity Catering is the best catering company in Denver! They are super friendly, and really organized! I loved working with Raven our catering captain! She totally knows what she is doing and is so sweet! This company is constantly juggling many events, but they always made me feel that my wedding was their biggest priority! I had the most amazing wedding and Raven, Sarah, Laura and team made it all come together perfectly! I would recommend serendipity catering for any event!! I absolutely LOVED working with them and not to mention the food is amazing!!!!
Horrible customer service. Sales man approach to get deposits for weddings. I was told the catering captain would be in touch within a week and never heard from her again. I tried reaching out multiple times and no one ever responded until we requested our money back. Their food wasn't great either AND we lost our venue thanks to this company because they never answered their phone to set up the walk through we were required to do 60 days out. Needless to say I will NEVER recommend this company and plan on writing a review with my experience on yelp, the knot, Facebook and every other form of social media. Awful company that has zero sense of customer service.
I would give them 100 stars if I could. From start to finish, Serendipity was professional, kind, and helpful. Joe was awesome. And their food is delicious! I will be recommending them to everyone I know. Thanks, Serendipity!!!:
On the day of our wedding, everything went seamlessly. The setup and delivery were smooth, the food was delicious, and several guests commented on the staff’s friendliness and professionalism. Futhermore, guests with dietary restrictions were accommodated with ease at no additional cost.
However, working with Serendipity through the planning process was unexpectedly cumbersome. All was great until a staff change in the company, at which point we were transferred from our initial point person to someone who seemed totally out of the loop. From that point on, they were difficult to communicate with, untimely or incomplete in their responses to our questions and requests, and had to be asked multiple times to provide updates. For example, after ironing out final details at our venue walk-through three weeks before the event, they didn’t provide an updated proposal until the week of the wedding. We submitted payment information after receipt of the “final” proposal, then unexpectedly received another “final” proposal with increased price two days before the wedding. Needless to say, this is not something we anticipated having to deal with while ironing out several other last-minute details.
Overall, excellent presentation and quality of food and services, but poor back-end communication and customer service.
From start to finish, Serendipity was amazing. Sarah J was our point of contact and helped us figure out a menu that worked with our budget but didn't skimp on our vision. When we went in for our tasting, we were treated with such great respect and were asked if we wanted to make any tweaks to the menu. Up until the day before, they were in such great contact with me, which made me feel at east the day of the wedding. Adriana, our catering captain was AMAZING! Both she and Sarah answered all of my questions along the way.
The day of the wedding, my husband and I decided to switch up from the norm and have all of our guests eat first. Adriana was all over this and even set aside some guacamole (MY FAVORITE) for me so I would have some when we went up.
Food was amazing and the service was great. The servers day of were very attentive and made sure my husband and I had everything we needed from water while we stood around greeting people, to serving us our special champagne throughout the night as we requested.
Sarah, Adriana, and team made our special day go seamlessly. I would totally recommend Serendipity to anyone looking for delicious food AND a great experience!
The only reason this is four instead of five stars is that communication with Serendipity was a little spotty in the weeks leading up to the actual event. As a bride planning the whole thing on my own, I wanted constant reassurances that everything was on track, and sometimes that was hard to get! Other than that, Serendipity did an amazing job catering our wedding. We got SO MANY compliments on the food, and the service provided by all staff members on the wedding day was fantastic. They paid special attention to the Groom and I throughout the event, making sure we had whatever food and beverage we wanted. They also took special care of our elderly guests, helping them through the buffet. Try the Quail Wellington, you won't be sorry!
Looking back on all the vendors with whom we worked for our very large (300+ guests) Denver wedding in November 2014, we can say without a doubt that Serendipity Catering was our best vendor. We can't thank Laura (owner), Bobbi (on-site coordinator), Dan (chef), and Sarah (service consultant) enough for the fantastic food and five-star service they gave us from our first email communication a year ago to our wedding day. So often food at weddings is lackluster at best... overcooked chicken, bland pasta dishes, uninspiring vegetable sides. Not so with chef Dan Slattery's creativity and talent. My fiance and I heard dozens of comments from our reception guests about the quality of the food (our Irish menu included Shepherd's pie, whiskey cream chicken, braised cabbage, root vegetables, traditional Irish soda and brown bread). Even our relatives from Ireland said, "This is the yummiest Irish food I've ever tasted! Can we bring these folks back with us to teach our chefs a thing or two?" Bobbi's poise, competence, and rapport with the staff of our reception venue (Tivoli Student Union Building at Auraria Campus) were truly outstanding. Sarah's warmth and can-do attitude at our tastings was much appreciated. Laura's professionalism and willingness to work with our modest budget and yet deliver five-star fare and service wowed our socks off! Across the board, Serendipity staff's and chefs' response to our requests for tweaks and revisions was virtually always, "Yes!" "Sure!" "You got it." We will recommend Serendipity without reservation to our Denver friends and family.
