Our wedding was absolutely magical in every way that we could have wanted, and Shannon was a major reason it went that well. We’re two people who had never envisioned our future wedding and were not looking forward to planning one, but we ended up with very specific ideas about what we wanted, some of which were pretty unconventional. Shannon never said no to any of our crazy ideas, and encouraged us to have the wedding that was right for us. She worked with us to refine our vision into a practical event design, and then executed it all and made it look effortless and beautiful. She understood the vibe we were after and got both the decor and the flow of the weekend exactly how we had imagined it. Day-of, Shannon was on top of everything and really allowed us, and our friends and family, to relax and fully participate stress-free. We absolutely could not have done it without her, and we feel like we made a friend along the way! Ask her about the wedding with the circus act, we’re sure it’ll be a good story!

Hiring Shannon as our wedding planner was an awesome decision! She was extremely professional, well organized, and very responsive to any and all of our questions. She has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all things wedding related, and took the time to really understand our vision and help bring it to life. She was incredibly helpful when it came to selecting vendors, coordinating different meetings and site visits, and managing all wedding weekend details. On our wedding day, Shannon and her team made sure everything ran as expected. It was perfect! We truly don't know how we would have been able to pull off the wedding of our dreams without Shannon!
As our day-of coordinator, Shannon was the glue that held our wedding together! From our first consultation with her right up until our big day, she brought structure and experience that allowed us to feel prepared to enjoy every moment of our wedding. During our first meeting, we told Shannon that we had two main goals: 1. We wanted all of the different parts of our day to feel manageable so that we could be fully "present" for the entirety of our wedding, and 2. We wanted to build in time to *actually* eat our meals and take in the experience that we worked so hard for. Shannon really listened and she delivered on all of these goals and so much more. Hiring Shannon was the best decision I made throughout the wedding planning process! We hired her for day-of coordination and some help with details, and she was a powerhouse throughout the whole process. She was super professional, always available to answer questions, offer guidance, and genuinely made us feel so taken care of. She was also incredibly fun to work with! My biggest regret was not hiring her to do even more - she truly made the process so seamless and stress free. We had the absolute best wedding day and I credit most of that to Shannon! She totally took over all of our vendor communication, helped everyone stay on track, and helped put out fires that, frankly, I didn't even know about until after the fact (she's that good). Shannon was absolutely INCREDIBLE to work with. The best decision of my life was choosing to marry my husband; the second best decision was hiring her! I interviewed six other planners before hiring her, and I know 1000% I made the right decision. From the start, she was organized, efficient, and kept us on track. We're not from Newport, RI where our wedding was, so we wanted someone who knew the area and could recommend vendors. We had the BEST vendor team based on Shannon's recommendations and guidance. She was there for us every single step of the way - from the big decisions like DJ vs Band to the small ones like where to place the seating chart sign, she was on top of it all. When our printer missed a whole table of notes we'd written, she printed them out the night before - this is just one example of her making our wedding a seamless, magical experience for us. Also, just as importantly, she was a joy to work with. Before, during, and after our wedding, I was so happy she was the one who was there for us. Our parents both commented on how amazing she was, and our wedding party was so thankful they had her to go to. My one regret is that I only plan to get married once, so unfortunately, I won't have the chance to work with her again. THANK YOU SHANNON!
Shannon and her team are quite literally the BEST. She made my wedding day run smoothly, triaging problems that I didn't even know existed, and allowing me to enjoy my special day worry-free.
Even though we hired Shannon for day-of coordination, she made herself available to answer questions and support us months out. Over six months out from the wedding, she jumped in to help resolve issues with our hotel, and provided useful recommendations and tips that weren't even on our radar. Definitely above and beyond the call of duty! As we got closer to the wedding, she plugged in completely, and knew all of the details better than we knew them ourselves. Her helpful emails and check-ins ensured we stayed organized and on track in the final crunch weeks.
The real magic happened on the week and day of the wedding. We had a number of last minute guest changes, some that I wasn't even aware of until I was walking down the aisle! She took care of everything - Reorganizing seating and working with the caterer, so that everything was fixed before I even knew there was an issue. Throughout the night, she made sure our vendors were where they needed to be, things were running on time, and logistics were in play, allowing us to kick back, talk to our guests, and dance the night away. She also handled all of the set up and break down - Something that I surely would not have wanted to do, or had time to do!
We thought the prices were completely reasonable, and in reflecting on the wedding, have said that SES Events is the best money we spent all wedding. I would recommend Shannon and her team in a heartbeat.

Shannon is a magical wedding fairy who makes your wedding ideas and dreams come to life! She LISTENS. In the beginning, planning a wedding by myself felt like buying a car and wasn’t fun. Shannon uses her knowledge and positive relationships with other services/venders to make your day is exactly how you wanted it. She’ll keep you on track throughout the entire process (which at times being a new mom was definitely hard for me). Her warm and inviting personality felt like a comfort blanket that took away all the stress. I was able to enjoy my entire wedding day because she took the reigns and was an absolute BOSS ensuring everything was on time and running smoothly. Having Shannon in my corner was the absolute best decision I made.

We hired Shannon as a partial planner to help keep us organized and she went above and beyond. She had recommendations and options for every vendor we asked about, she was incredibly organized and punctual with anything we asked of her, and she was knowledgable and calm throughout it all which kept us from being stressed throughout the process.
She is also just an incredibly thoughtful and kind person - during planning she learned that my mom passed away when I was younger, and during our wedding week she surprised me with a charm that had a photo of me and my mom (she worked with my fiancé to find it) for my flower bouquet 🥹
There was an unexpected issue with our trolley on our wedding day (brakes went out!) and Shannon handled everything so seamlessly that I didn't even know it happened until replacement transportation showed up, right on time.

RUN don't walk to hire Shannon for your wedding day. We had the absolute pleasure of working with Shannon for our wedding on 9/9/2023. We hired Shannon for her Day of Coordinator package; however, she was so much more than a day-of- coordinator. From the minute we hired Shannon (about a year before our wedding) she made herself available to answer any of our questions. About three months before our big day, she was all ours :). We had several calls, a site visit, and many text messages leading up to the big day. Shannon handled everything from communication between my vendors (huge help having her take this off my plate, no bride wants to answer a million questions before their wedding day), managing our rehearsal, keeping my thoughts positive while the forecast showed nothing but rain for the day of, assistance with day-of set-up, day-of questions/headaches, ensuring everything ran on schedule, and most importantly, she was there to make sure my husband and I had the most amazing day. Plus, so much more! Shannon was such a delight to work with, we can't recommend her enough. I promise, this could be the best investment you make for your big day!

From picking our venue to helping us figure out our color scheme to making sure everything went perfectly the day of our wedding: Shannon was with us every step of the way and we owe so much credit to her for the perfect day that we had. Shannon is a lifesaver and a delight. I HIGHLY recommend her as a wedding planner, and as a lovely person! We had a lot of moving parts to our wedding celebration, as we had an intimate family ceremony in Dec. and then a 200+ person reception in July. Shannon was infinitely patient with us as we kept changing our ideas about when our reception would be, and also incredibly helpful in narrowing and directing our ideas about reception venue--she totally nailed our style. One of my favorite parts of working with Shannon is that she only tells you about a problem once she's found a solution--and she can change plans on a dime without (seemingly) breaking a sweat (for example--she found us a new welcome party venue a month out from the event). She also has a fabulous way of representing you to your vendors, and making sure everyone has all the information and details they need! Definitely work with Shannon!
What to say about Shannon except how wonderful she is!!! From start to finish Shannon had everything under control, she is so organized and always one step ahead of every vendor(every vendor we worked with commented on how organized, efficient and kind she is). She treats you like a true friend and is always true to her promises.
I've always been a hands-on, do-it-myself kind of person so letting someone else plan my wedding of all things was way out of my comfort zone. Shannon proved to me that relinquishing control brought the best outcome I could have ever imagined -the perfect wedding!! She's amazing and I would hire here again in a heartbeat, I have no advice on what could be done better because it was all perfect. Shannon was truly a dream come true. I’m an OCD type A planner so the overall planning process was easy for me but I didn’t want to stress about the day of. If you’re on the fence about hiring a day of coordinator DO NOT hesitate to hire Shannon. I tell everyone to think of it as an insurance policy on a day you’re spending so much on already. Without her my decor dreams wouldn’t have been possible as my venue wouldn’t setup my flowers since they were rentals and they said flowers had to be set up by a florist or a family member. She checked in frequently. Made sure everyone was comfortable and dealt with all my vendors. She ensured my wedding day ran smoothly and on time. I never felt rushed going to the next task and she coordinated with my photographer and DJ to ensure I got everything I wanted. I had an issue with the venue not setting up enough chairs for my ceremony and she handled it promptly. I hear couples who say they didn’t eat on their wedding day and she ensured that we had as much time as we wanted to eat and ensured we ate everything at our wedding!! I can’t imagine what issues she handled behind the scenes as I know of stories of how she saved the day for other couples regarding day of trolley breakdowns and such. Shannon was personable and is extremely knowledgable in her field. Her pricing is the BEST out of all the ones I reached out to which is crazy because she is SO experienced and great at what she does. I would recommend her over and over again.
The only negative about hiring Shannon is that I didn't hire her earlier in my wedding planning process. Shannon is THE BEST!!! Easily the most valuable vendor throughout our wedding experience and incredibly reliable. I honestly cannot imagine our wedding without her expertise and support. Shannon is incredibly organized, resourceful, and just on top of everything. Any question, comment, concern we had - she had an answer. She doesn't miss a beat. She is a logistical queen. Planning a wedding is stressful enough, but Shannon took a huge weight off our shoulders and was someone we knew we could trust to execute our vision. She was a great liaison between us and our other vendors, especially the weeks leading up to our wedding. We had one vendor, our venue, that was a bit of a nightmare to a communicate with and it just got extremely frustrating... but then we let Shannon know what was going on and she came in and took over all communications with our venue and handled all the issues in a very clear and professional manner - taking a MASSIVE burden and stress off us. I cannot say enough about having someone who is in the business and working with the other vendors to be your #1 advocate leading up to your wedding day. We knew she had our best interests in mind and truly was our #1 ally leading up to the wedding. The day of the wedding went so smoothly and she was there for absolutely any question/comment/concern we had. Whether it was running upstairs to get me something I forgot in my suite, making sure the venue put the right easels out for signs, ensuring we had food and drinks the whole night, or making sure that your crazy uncle isn't getting too crazy - Shannon is 100% there for it and committed to making your wedding as seamless, stress-free, and fun as possible. She is there for you to have the best wedding you can imagine and is so dedicated. She went above and beyond and is the reason we were able to be so present the day of our wedding as she handled ALL the little details that trust me - you don't want to deal with the week or day of your wedding. Shannon is a DREAM to work with!!! She is attentive, extremely organized and really cares about her couples. You can trust her 1000% with all of your wedding coordination needs. Shannon is single handedly the reason I was so relaxed! She gets things done, keeps people in line (in a nice but firm way - exactly what you need) and is just so great to be around. I cannot imagine how my wedding day would have run without her. Even if you have a venue coordinator, you need Shannon as part of your team!!

If you want the GOAT, go with Shannon. Easily the best money we spent for the whole event. Shannon worked with us from March 2020 through October 2022 and was kind, supportive, reliable, creative, solution-oriented, easily accessible, the list goes on. She laughed (a lot ) with us, she cried with us, and everything between. Don’t even think about it – just hire Shannon. Knowing how much effort she put into our event now, she was easily worth double or triple!!
We truly have no words to express our full gratitude to Shannon for her assistance with our wedding planning. I'll start with a bit of context because I found it helpful when reading other reviews and selecting vendors for our wedding - I am a (somewhat neurotic), hyper-type-A personality with high expectations and attention to detail. We brought Shannon on as a month-of planner when we began running into issues with our venue as it was a new venue and they were still in the process of figuring many things out. Shannon was nothing short of a miracle. Relatively quickly after meeting Shannon, we upgraded our package to rely more on Shannon's expertise with a more hands-on planning package and, boy, are we glad we did!
Shannon is meticulous, super responsive, kind, and honest. She advocated for us and was our biggest supporter in the planning process. She coordinated all of our vendors, worked with us to create an amazing timeline and STUCK TO IT! Bonus, she somehow manifested 70 degree sunshine in mid-November in New England.
Shannon truly was the best thing to happen to us during our wedding. Do not think twice about hiring her!!
I had the pleasure of working with the owner of SES events, Shannon for my very large October 2022 destination wedding. Having Shannon by my side during the wedding planning process was incredible and truly invaluable. From the moment I submitted an inquiry to SES Events page, Shannon was prompt, professional, and personable. By the time I was able to connect with Shannon, I had already found & booked my venue, so she built a “partial planning package” with a la carte add-on service options. Shannon was a dream to work with because I truly feel like she got to know me as a person & gal pal. She took the time to learn my vision and even the little quirks I have (I hate the color pink and I’m very particular about the type of font we should use) She brought fresh new ideas to the table and cohesively incorporated my ideas to make sure the vibe of the wedding made sense. During my wedding planning process, I was promoted to a more demanding position at work, COVID was still trying to make a comeback and my fiancé moved to another country & back to the US only to pick up and have both of us move to a new city the week before my wedding; Shannon knew when I was stressed out and trying to manage too much and really took things off the plate. (i.e., stepping in to solve the problem when other vendors were about to have me lose my mind!). Shannon remembered things or detailed ideas that I would mention in passing while on the phone at the start of our relationship and would bring them up to me to make sure they weren't forgotten and a decision had been made on those items/comments/ideas. She was so patient with me when life would get in the way of planning and my responses were slower than usual, she knew when to push and when to give. When Shannon is given a task list, she bangs it out quickly & precisely, keeps you in the loop on any pending items, AND fights for you to make sure you’re having the best outcome. We laughed, I cried, and she supported, solved, and delivered. Speaking bride to bride, when you’re making the budget and trying to see what's important and what's not… listen to me when I say, no one actually cares about the upgraded champagne flute, get the cheap one and spend your money on Shannon’s expertise you’ll thank whoever your God may be for Shannon pretty early on in the process. Shannon is worth a million bucks.
What can I say about Shannon... She is honestly absolutely incredible. I knew from our first consultation call that she was the one! She is not only professional, but she is funny, kind, witty, and overall an incredible coordinator. She made sure everything ran smoothly and was the point of person the week of the wedding, which took a lot of stress off my plate. We honestly couldn't have done this all without her and her expertise.
Shannon is incredible! She truly went above and beyond to make sure we had our dream wedding. She was so wonderful and intentional about including our parents in the process and making sure our families and bridal party were welcome taken care of during our wedding weekend. We live in NYC, so having Shannon's RI expertise was invaluable! We were so lucky to have someone so kind, organized, and thoughtful support us through the wedding planning process!
We hired Shannon as our day of coordinator for our August 2022 wedding. From Day 1, we knew that we were in good hands as Shannon was very responsive to our many (many) emails and questions. She was very hands on and would frequently check up on us as the wedding got closer. On the actual wedding week, Shannon took over communicating with all the vendors so we would not have to, and this was super helpful and allowed us to relax a little more during an already stressful week! Shannon’s organization and attention to detail allowed me to really enjoy my wedding day and we could not have done it with out her! She is the best!

I was months into wedding planning with nothing to show for it except knowing we needed to have it in Rhode Island and we wanted it to be small and intimate as we were paying for the wedding ourselves and wanted to stay in budget of $10k.
I am originally from Providence but have been living in Tampa for the past few years. Finding a venue that would be in budget but still looked classy, romantic and most importantly not cheap was more then I bargained for! I was not prepared for how much work planning a wedding would be!
I found Shannon on The Knot and after reading reviews knew I needed to book with her! I booked full planning and wedding design and I am so happy I did! I had no idea of what I wanted except I wanted my wedding to look pretty and I wanted everyone to have a good time! Shannon asked all the right questions to hone in on what I truly wanted.
Shannon had numerous recommendations (all within budget of course) Shannon kept me and all the vendors on track, I would not have been able to pull off the wedding we had without her! The knowledge and expertise she brought to the table was priceless! The only thing I would change about working with her would be booking her sooner to save myself the headache and stress I had trying to plan a wedding without her!
I could really write a book on how great Shannon was, her communication was A1! She was available 24/7 the week of my wedding to answer any and all questions I had! She helped calm our screaming toddler when he refused to walk down the isle and took him off to calm down when he had a full blown meltdown while we said our vows and did our handfasting ceremony, she eased my worries when there was an impromptu Bolivian festival on the State House steps where I planned to take wedding photos. We got our shots and the dancers even joined in for a couple, my day was magical thanks to Shannon! She even joined us in some dancing at the end of the night, happy to say Shannon was a friend during one of the most important times of my life!
Shannon was amazing!!! We hired her for day of help and she went above and beyond our expectations. We started working together a few months before the wedding and she helped ensure no details were missed, helped us review our contracts and was always available to answer any question we had. We wanted our wedding to have a strict order of events to move the day as quickly as possible to allow for as much time to dance and Shannon worked with each of our vendors to make sure this came to life and our day went without any issues. I would 100% recommend Shannon, for full planning or just help the day off, your stress level will go down significantly with her help!
As we were planning our wedding, everyone told us that even if something goes wrong the only people that will know are the bride and the bride’s mother. While this saying was meant to assure us that despite “inevitable” issues the weekend of the wedding it would be all right. However, in our mind if we planned enough we could ensure there was no need for contingency plans. As the wedding approached though we realized there was just too much for a single couple to be able to juggle leading up to, and on the day of our wedding… at least while ensuring that we were able to enjoy our special day as stress free as possible. Shannon was the answer to all of that.

On the day of, Shannon brought in an assistant to help coordinate logistics across multiple sites so the wedding party could get ready off site while ensuring that all of the vendors were able to get access to and set up at the site of the ceremony and reception. I’m sure there were more roles that she played the day of such as coordinating the movement of decorations between ceremony and reception space, however, these were done so expertly that we as a couple were minimally involved and truly were able to be present at and enjoy our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception with our friends, families and guests.
Shannon was easily the MVP of our vendor team, ensuring that if there was an issue that occurred that weekend even we as the couple didn’t know. Without her our wedding would not have been the success of an event that it was. Our advice to all of our newly engaged friends has been to leave it to the professionals, get a wedding planner, and if possible get Shannon!

Writing a review for Shannon is an extremely difficult task because it is nearly impossible for me to capture in words all the ways in which she helped my wife and I piece together the wedding of our dreams. She didn't just make our lives easier, she made the experience of planning itself more enjoyable for us. Shannon is organized, thorough, easy to work with, and was always willing and able to go to bat for us when something came up. Outside of wedding logistics, she took care of us as people. As the wedding approached her check ins became more frequent until the week of when she would check in every morning just to see how we were doing. By the time our wedding date arrived she had become more of a friend than a vendor. Oh and she's great company to hang with over mudslides.

Shannon was seriously the best thing that happened during our wedding planning. From the moment I reached out, I felt like we connected and she really understood what I was looking for in a wedding planner. I made this decision back in May that I wanted extra help with month of coordination and day of coordination because I knew the small details were important to me. From immediately booking me for a phone consult, sending me back a detailed run down of all that we discussed and truly making me feel heard.

There are simply not enough words to explain how incredible Shannon is. When we hired her, we were looking for a month of/ day-of coordinator but we got so so much more. Right away she went to work putting together our timeline and helping us tie to together what the day would look like. She was so supportive from day one (months before her "month-of" began) and was always available for a zoom call or casual drinks. She immediately took the stress off our shoulders and even after the wedding still made us feel like we were the most important clients she had. On the actual wedding day, Shannon was everywhere, and the day went so perfectly and so smoothly I can't imagine what we would have done without her. She is so professional but also so kind and warm at the same time. She cares about her couples as more than just clients and you can tell it makes such a difference. Our entire bridal party, family and all of our vendors were so impressed with her, we're still getting compliments on what a rock star our wedding planner was. The week leading up to the wedding Shannon would send us texts just checking in on our mental states, always there to listen to any small worry or to join in the excitement. Shannon is simply the best in the business. She was professional, organized, detail-oriented, creative, and timely. I wish I could shout from the rooftops just how incredible Shannon St. Ours of SES Events is and how she truly made the wedding of our dreams possible, but posting online will have to do. I had worked with Shannon previously to plan my sister's baby shower and she contacted me shortly after we got engaged to see if we'd be interested in working together for our wedding. This was still in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, so not only were we not sure if a wedding would be possible any time soon, we weren't sure if we'd be able to work with Shannon as we'd already decided to get married in New Hampshire where we live to help limit our travel. The two-state distance was not a hurdle as far as Shannon was concerned, and after she presented us with an incredibly detailed proposal and very reasonable quote, we decided to hire her as our wedding planner.
My husband and I easily agree that hiring SES Events was the best thing we did in planning our June 2021 wedding. We both work full-time and my mom has passed away, and when you throw a global pandemic into that already less-than-ideal scenario, planning a wedding seemed impossible. Shannon made herself totally accessible from Day One and set right to work familiarizing herself with the area where we were getting married (Concord, NH, about two hours from her home base in Warwick, RI), finding the best vendors in our area and reaching out to them on our behalf, and taking our half-baked ideas and inspirations and making them into a beautiful, cohesive, attainable wedding plan. Most of all, she was able to stay within our budget, coming up with creative fixes along the way to cut costs without sacrificing our vision. I had my heart set on having an open bar for our guests, even though this can be a costly variable, and I'll be damned if the final bar tab wasn't almost exactly on the nose of what Shannon projected and it fit into our budget just right. She is a magician and a genius. I don't know how she does it all, but she makes it look easy! She even talked me down off the ledge in a few bride crises along the way. ;)
The end result of working with Shannon was a beautiful wedding, a rockin' good party people are still talking about two weeks later, memories we and our loved ones will cherish forever, and a treasured friendship we now have with Shannon. We would recommend her to absolutely anyone planning an event in the New England area. Big or small, regardless of your budget, SES Events will help you create an event unlike any other.
