oughout the process, especially since we were planning a destination wedding. She helped us hone in on how we wanted Ashley & Charlie's wedding day to feel for them and our guests. Shelby is excellent at problem-solving and helping make decisions when roadblocks popped up. We had no idea what to expect from a wedding planner since this was the first wedding we had planned, Shelby exceeded our expectations and was sensitive to our budget. She was patient, professional, and highly attentive to our wants. For example, Shelby was able to help us execute Ashley's desire to serve her favorite Santa Fe dessert from a local cafe and still have the most beautiful cake table and pictures to resemble a traditional cake cutting. We loved working with her and would highly recommend Shelby to plan any event or wedding. If you like a good communicator and someone who is responsive, SHELBY is hands down the way to go!

nd said something like no drama or chaos, and a chill vibe - is that a design aesthetic? She heartily laughed then responded with a quip about human behavior, weddings, and, if necessary, the “mom voice”. In that moment I knew that I could be myself and our personalities worked well together; it would also complement my now husband’s personality as well. We could face the inevitable unknowns and chaos as a team. Shelby proceeded to ask thoughtful questions to get to know us and understand our style. I was able to tell her more about what we didn’t like/want than what we did. Yet, she was able to suggest a vendor that wasn’t on my radar and perfect for us. By the end of our conversation, it was clear Shelby would introduce levity and humor to the experience (lots of it), expertly navigate our cast of characters (which she definitely did), and keep everything on track (and ahead of schedule when weather threatened). We could not have anticipated how phenomenal Shelby would be the month leading up to our wedding. She far exceeded any expectation or thought we had about the experience. Before our month-out meeting, we shared our planning “binder” with Shelby.She reviewed it in advance of our meeting and arrived with excellent follow-up questions and suggestions. We included a fair number of DIY additions to the decor that came with some design ideas (from n00bs, to be clear), and Shelby was totally on board with making it work. It was important to us that the things we made be included, but she really pulled it all together in a way that worked. We were confident Shelby understood the “vision” and, if there were issues the day of, she would handle it with that vision in mind. We discussed all of the details, including the things we would need to figure out a few days before or the day of our wedding because of family health issues. Shelby was compassionate and supportive, and ready with plans A-Z for whatever happened. And, at the rehearsal, when there were several new ideas or suggestions for family needs, Shelby looked to me. I said that we’d proceed with the original plan and she moved us along to the next step. But, if needed, she was ready to step in and handle the moment. There were several moments throughout the rehearsal where I appreciated our visual check-in and unspoken alignment on how to handle the moment. Shelby’s fantastic communication skills and calm approach really kicked in at this time, and she masterfully handled several challenges and concerns that arose with a vendor. One day a few weeks before the wedding when things started to go sideways with a vendor, my now husband commented “Shelby is already on it, as usual”. Shelby gifted us peace of mind and support when we really needed it. Everything was exquisite the day of the wedding. When the curtains were pulled back in the ballroom, I was overcome with emotion. Shelby and her team attended to every detail and the execution exceeded anything we envisioned. We had a great time without a worry because Shelby was on it. Shelby is as incredible a person as she is an event planner. Your day will be full of joy and happiness if you work with Shelby. We cannot recommend Shelby and Shelby Your Day Events enough.

uable. You have most likely spent a long time dreaming of what your wedding day is going to be like, you know exactly what you want or need help in completing what you are dreaming about. In talking with couples they imagine laughter, a sense of calm, family and friends relaxing and enjoying what you all have planned and it is a beautiful vision. What couples don't realize is with out a planner like Shelby, all that responsibility is on your family or a venue event manager (That also has 2-5 events happening at the same time or giving tours during your wedding day) or even worse...YOU. I can't imagine that kind of stress. But, sadly, I see the effects of it numerous times a year. Details are forgotten, parts of your day run late and I have seen what it does to those dreams. Shelby is a careful and masterful planner that communicates well with all the wedding pros that support your dreams. She has a creative mind to enhance your vision and make it extra special. She is kind and is focused on your wedding day and she willing takes on all that stress so YOU do not have to and she does it because she enjoys it! Imagine that! Shelby Your Day Events is a WORTHY investment.

rehearsal dinner (3 hours late!) to hastily put up lights while our guests were nervously mingling and waiting for them to finish to take their seats for dinner, Shelby met everything with incredible steadiness and aplomb. She solved the problems and kept everything on track. Our wedding day was perfect, with Shelby calmly and quietly steering everything behind the scenes. I can't quite express how grateful my wife and I are for Shelby's exceptional work, and cannot recommend her highly enough!

or Shelby Your Day Events. We planned our Santa Fe wedding all the way from the East Coast but the entire process was smooth because of Shelby's helpfulness, organization, and communication. If I needed something measured at our venue - she would visit the location and have the measurements to me within two days. Every month following up to the wedding, she kept us on track with deadlines and to-do's, was the main contact to our vendors, and promptly answered any questions or concerns that we had. She ensures all the details are thought of ahead of time so that we truly got to enjoy our wedding day. Besides being the organized-ying to my ADHD-yang, something I really appreciated about Shelby was the way she handled minor hiccups during the day of our wedding. When something didn't go to plan, Shelby would either A) whisper in my ear to ask if I wanted to change it (like when the speeches were being done in a different location as planned and we quickly rearranged that everything went great), or B) smile and say "its fine" (like when my dad told the flower girl to start walking down the aisle - even though it was not time). Things like this will always pop up during weddings but Shelby's way of handling them was the perfect mix of being proactive & nonchalant that the issues were NEVER a big deal. She laughed with us, she cried with us, but also had no issue telling us when it was time to get it together, lol. She's a true subject matter expert and we could not recommend her enough!
