The Sheraton Denver West Federal Center was very responsive and great to work with! They helped with any questions and needs as we were planning the wedding and staff was really friendly.
The restaurant bar was perfect for hosting a meet and greet the night before the wedding for out of town guests. We had about 40 people show up and was wonderful as we had the bar basically to ourselves!
The restaurant also did a great breakfast buffet for the day after the wedding that we all enjoyed. Very delicious and made it really easy for people to meet up.
The one complaint we had was their air conditioning. We had many people in our 70-people party have air conditioner issues in the middle of the summer. They did what they could to move people around to different rooms but many still suffered issues in 2nd rooms. Really need to fix the air conditioner issues and then will be great!
Overall, I would recommend this for wedding needs if it is near this hotel.
Brooke is awesome!!!! She is the wedding coordinator and she made everything so easy for us and she's so sweet and cheerful! My husband and I planned our wedding from out of state so her being as helpful as she was really meant a lot to us. We made a trip back one weekend to look at venues and once we'd looked at them all we both agreed that Brooke seemed the most on top of things and this venue was the most economical - plus it has a nice view of downtown and the space was beautiful! We were expecting a very large wedding (expected 200, ended up around 130 people), so we hit the food and beverage minimum no problem. Because of work we only had two days in town before the wedding so we had a lot to do but Brooke let us drop everything off (I made the centerpieces for our wedding and we also had chair covers and chair sashes) a few days before and she set it all up the day of!! SUCH a huge help! And she made it look fantastic! Another big bonus with this venue is they have a contract with a local bakery so while our cake was not totally free (because of its size), it was very inexpensive! And it tasted and looked amazing! We got tons of compliments about the venue, the FOOD (oh my gosh it was awesome), Brooke, the cake, and just everything. It really was perfect I would definitely recommend the Sheraton!! Oh, and we also received a complimentary suite for the night of the wedding and Brooke had strawberries and champagne waiting for us. Such great staff :)
I truly cannot say enough about my experience with the Sheraton Denver West hotel and let me tell you Brooke Kletzli is truly worth her weight in gold. She is unbelievable and made my wedding experience start to finish the best. She made sure everything was perfect and to our standards. She always went above and beyond and I can truly say everything went perfectly because of Brooke. I am in the event industry and I have never met someone like Brooke. I wish I could clone her and have her in every clients office. Always had a positive attitude and came up with ideas and if we thought there might be a problem she made sure to find a solution. I cannot thank her enough and express how outstanding she is. Brooke had her staff take care of everyone in my group and even they went above and beyond. I will make sure that everyone knows how great Brooke and the staff is at Sheraton Denver West. I highly recommend you speak with Brooke and have your next event at her hotel. Well done and I am lucky to have worked with you.
We reserved a suite for the night before and night of the wedding, the suites are absolutely beautiful! Plenty of room to get ready and the staff even brought in extra mirrors for the ladies!!
For the plethora of out of town guests descending on us, we needed to find a place with the following qualities: great location, reasonable cost, higher-end amenities and a good work-out facility. The Sheraton fit the bill and, in fact, we spent our wedding night there, as well. Only "complaint" -- if you can call it that -- many of our guests could not use the family/friends discount code that was advertised on the hotel's web site. Even without it, the price per room was excellent. And, there's a Starbucks around the corner!
By far the worst experience of my life has been dealing with them. First, coordinator changed in the middle of signing the contract, the new girl (Krystal) seemingly has no clue what she is doing. Took forever getting us a BEO and in fact we never got a correct one. Emails were not responded to, contracts not changed to reflect what she said in emails. (The biggest issue was the price of chicken dinner in BEO which was never fixed to reflect what Krystal stated in an email). Guests being served before the head table. Half the room was served before we brought our planners attention to it (she thought the head table already ate their salads) and was able to fix it. By the time the head table ate our salads, all guests were done (they were to be served salads as we got our entrees so we could eat and visit with guests as soon as they were done eating). Quality of risotto, lobster tail tiny for the price ($50 for a lobster tail the size of a chicken strip on the kids meal). Then, when they were to serve the cake they were to ask which flavor-instead they just handed out cake, which was not what they were supposed to do. Of course the bride and groom were busy so we asked for cake to be put aside so we could eat some later...supposedly they did so but by the end of the reception no one could find it so we never got to taste our wedding cake. Krystal left before the cake was being served-or so we were told as she never said anything to us. After speaking with guests after the wedding, I had numerous complaints that the servers were : rude; cleared plates before people were done; cleared paid for drinks before they were empty; seemed to just want it over (and made the guests feel that way too). The bar was closed when it was to stay open until 2am per the contract. Bar staff over served one individual who later caused a problem in the downstairs lobby bar. Even the bakery, Child’s, had nothing good to say about dealing with Krystal. Only good things were the front desk staff and Kristin who handled the room block.
I had so much trouble booking a block of rooms for my wedding. Most of my guest that would call were told that the hotel was sold out (even though we reserved 20 rooms.) I would call and they would say, there are pleny of rooms. Some people made other arrangements which made the weekend difficult. Then when arriving, they told us there was nothing they could do, they were booked. Those of us that did stay, had to be moved to different rooms b/c the air conditioning was out. Then at check out, some people weren't given the group rate. I will never use Sheraton reservations for a large party again.
Beautiful view of downtown. Very friendly staff. Discounted rooms for guests.
