Would highly recommend booking the Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre Hotel to host your wedding! We had our ceremony outside on the pool deck, overlooking the monument circle, in September (rain in option offered as well). Jeanne, Jenny, and the team at the Sheraton went above and beyond to make everything perfect for the ceremony. Jenny Hunter was amazing to work with and did everything in her capability to make the day perfect and stress-free for me! The hotel was beautiful, easy for guests to arrive/check in/stay at, etc. The front desk handed out welcome bags to our guests upon check in, which were a big hit. In addition, the hotel had a parlor suite where the wedding party could stay and get ready throughout the day. Overall, great experience and have nothing negative to say. Would choose this vendor all over again to host my ceremony!

I have previously been at a wedding at the Sheraton and was so taken back by how nice it was (Ceremony on the roof by the pool, overlooking the Circle! What a perfect view!). I had to go there when it finally came time for my wedding.
I was talking this venue up to my fiance, who is not from the Indianapolis are and was so excited to go with him. However, things were not going that smoothly. First, it took me e-mailing 2 times and calling 3 times to finally get ahold of the wedding coordinator. When I did get ahold of her, we scheduled a time to meet but two days later she e-mailed me asking if I could confirm the date, because she didn't write it down (Not something a bride planning a wedding wants to hear). Upon receiving the date, she asked to reschedule, which I was okay with.
We confirmed day of that we would meet at our specific time and she informed me about parking. However, when we arrive, the coordinator was not there and was in a meeting. She had someone come in from the corporate office to give us the tour. I would have liked to know this and not thought that I was meeting with the person that I had been in contact with, but I digress.
Upon starting the tour, I could see how worn down the building was. Parts of the ceiling were sagging from what looked like water damage. Chairs had fabric ripped off of them and there was gum stuck into the carpet. We went and saw the guest rooms which left a lot to be desired. Then, we went to one venue space she wanted us to use that was indoors. I informed her we were really interested in the roof for the ceremony, to which she quickly told me to rethink and to not do that as weather is unpredictable. I continued to tell her we wanted to see the pool area. She first took us down to the lower level where the reception would be held... the doors were locked. She "tried" to get someone to help us, but didn't think to go to front desk to ask for the key. This would have been a major space for our wedding and she never showed it to us because the doors were locked.
We went up to the roof area to look at the BIG selling point--the view of the Circle. Yet again, her key didn't work and she didn't want to figure out a way to open it up. So, we saw the view through the glass door.
Overall, I was really disappointed and frankly felt like my time had been completely wasted. Why give a tour, if you aren't going to show us the two spaces we want to use for our wedding? After leaving, my fiance and I decided we will definitely not be using the Sheraton.

We had our big fat fabulous, mixed culture wedding in the Sheraton's downstairs ballroom. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Hannah Whiteman, the Sheraton event coordinator, did everything she could to make our wedding day perfect! Hannah is very detail oriented and was on top of every question and detail for us. Everything was beautiful and we truly appreciate all the time and effort she put into it. Also, the ENTIRE staff at the Sheraton was lovely--from the bellman, to the front desk staff, to the wait staff, and so many more! Also, the banquet manager, Juan, was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the entire process, from advising on room set up, to bringing us some wedding cake at the end of the night when we told him we didn't get a chance to eat any! Thank you all so much for helping to make our wedding day perfect! We would highly recommend the Sheraton as wedding venue!

We had two events for our wedding at this hotel on the 21st floor panorama ballroom. They were absolutely beautiful and the staff did such an amazing job. The event coordinator (Liz) is a great woman and was so supportive the entire planning process. The hotel is clean and the guests loved that it was right downtown by the circle. We did have some issues with front desk staff, but this was corrected immediately by managers and I have no complaints. The only thing that we did have some issues with was that the elevators are super slow at the hotel, so that made some guests a bit annoyed. I would say that the events were a 5 star and the hotel was a 4 star. We are so happy that we had our events and had our guests stay here and we are so thankful to Liz and her staff. Thank you again to a great facility. Best weekend ever!!

The Panorama Room where our ceremony room was held was beautiful. We loved that our guests were able to look at us and have Monument Circle as the back drop. The Meridian Ballroom was the perfect size so that our guests were not right on top of each other during the reception and the soft colors of the walls and the carpets matched our fall decor perfectly!
We had some issues with the actual wedding coordinator, and we asked for someone else to coordinate our day or we wanted our money back (which was no small chunk of change), so a manager of the hotel put us with a wonderful lady who made everything run smoothly.

Definitely the best choice for having a wedding in Indianapolis They had the best prices, service was fantastic, and they really worked with us if we had any issues. Communication was great and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The only downside was the billing with the rooms. I had reserved 7 rooms under my name and had some problems with billing, but the staff was really nice and professional and helped sort things out. Other than that, it was an incredible experience and the staff at the Sheraton did a phenomenal job. I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding or any function. The Panorama Ballroom was fantastic!

I had my ceremony and reception at the Sheraton a couple of weeks ago, and overall it was wonderful. There were a few bumps along the way but nothing I knew of the day of. Shortly into our planning process they changed wedding coordinators and I feel that caused some confusion in paperwork. This lead to some of the hors d'oeuvres we were supposed to have not turning up but they made that up to us once the mistake was realized. The new wedding coordinator Allison Smith is very nice and thoughtful and she made the day go very smoothly. She is great at keeping a line of communication open. The location is just beautiful and the staff very welcoming. Thanks to them we had a very lovely wedding.

We had both our ceremony and reception at the Sheraton. Everything went flawlessly and we were thrilled with our day. It was perfect and I couldn't have been happier about everything from the rooms, the food, the service and the overall experience. Thank you to everyone at the Sheraton who was involved in making my wedding day the best of my life!

I had my wedding reception in the downstairs ballroom at the Sheraton. This place is a great value for the money. The extras thrown in are great, for example, free champagne toast, free bridal suite for 2 nights, free centerpieces and it was free to rent the entire ballroom (only had to pay for food). The coordinator there, was absolutely GREAT! She made sure everything went off without a hitch! She worked closely with my other vendors and everything was perfect!!

Overall: The Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre turned out to be a great venue for our reception. My husband and I are both architects living in Washington, DC, and planned our wedding long-distance with the help of family in my hometown of Indy. We sought a venue that could offer a "taste of the city" for our guests, many who were coming from out of town - the Panorama Ballroom (21st floor) was perfect, complete with gorgeous views of downtown Indianapolis. On a fluke the night of our reception, which was the week before the Monument Circle - Circle of Lights was set to be lit, we got a great preview of the lit "tree" at around 10:00pm! So awesome! Pricing was just right for our budget and our parents split the bill - parents of the bride covered catering costs, parents of the groom covered bar bill.
Staffing: Our coordinator at the Sheraton, who has since left the position, was the biggest help in our planning process. I think our taste was a little too clean and modern for her liking, but we got along just fine! The booking staff was the most difficult to work with regarding our rooming block, and looking back, I wish we wouldn't have done a room block at all.
Overnight Accommodations: I did have to work with two separate individuals in regards to our block (the second was way more helpful), negotiate the rooms attrition rate and clause, and complain/renegotiate when guests were jumping off our block for a cheaper AAA rate. There was renovation construction in the building during the year leading up to our wedding. The updates were wonderful - except the weekend of our wedding they were still working on the ventilation systems. All of our guests with rooms facing Monument Circle had rooms with temperatures around 80 degrees. Awful. Some guests were moved (some were offered suites on the opposite side of the hotel) but on the night of the wedding, the hotel was full and guests were offered box fans. Unacceptable. If I would have known this was going on, I would have demanded a refund for these poor guests.
Parking: Don't forget to negotiate a deal on event parking in the garage for your guests! Indianapolis has ridiculous downtown parking rates - pricing is closer to what it is in the DC metro area, which is a market 5 times larger than Indy's.
Food & Beverage: The chefs were great to work with! Our tasting was great and the coordinator even secured a special meal for my dad who we wanted to treat with his favorite, salmon, during the reception, despite selecting completely different entrees for our guests to choose from. We had 160 guests who were much heavier drinkers than the coordinator had anticipated so the single bar with one bartender didn't work very well. The coordinator "moonlighted" as a bartender during the cocktail hour to help - thank goodness. We should have insisted on 2 bars/bartenders.
Panorama Ballroom: Incredible. We had the entire 21st floor to ourselves. It allowed the bridal party to have their own "holding" room, people had space to store coats, and it just made the event seem more exclusive. The views are incredible and it was a huge treat for a lot of our guests who had never been to Indianapolis.
Best of luck as you plan your special day! Go with your gut and enjoy the big day! Lots of the things you spend way too much time planning you won't even have a chance to see/experience on the big day. Take it from this control freak - relax and go with the flow! =)

We decided not to hire a wedding planner but instead put our wedding together on our own. We visited many venues and decided a hotel was our best bet since we had half of our wedding guests coming in from out of town. The wedding coordinator was nice, not overly enthusiastic for dealing with a couple excited to get married. The Sheraton had good pricing, our coordinator was willing to negotiate on many items and the Panorama Ballroom sold us. This room is located on the 21st floor, right off of the circle and it has floor to ceiling windows on three sides of the room. You can see all of downtown and the circle looks amazing from that height. I will say that the rest of the event staff was not as nice and accomodating as our coordinator. There was a mix up in room accomodations and the only person willing to help was our coordinator. She went as far as getting us rooms at a cheaper rate at a hotel right across the street. We were promised at least 30 rooms in the Sheraton and instead they booked every room and didn't block any for our guests. Even though our guests had to stay at a different hotel and the staff was not very nice to us while trying to come up with alternative ideas they pulled through on the day of the wedding. The decorations were put up exactly how we wanted them, the room was set up perfectly and the change over in between the ceremony and reception was seemless. There was not one complaint about the food. They didn't really have a vegan option (steamed veggies and a baked potato) and the veggie options are limited but everything else was really tasty. The rooms are outdated and the parlor the girls were using to get ready had some serious patchwork issues on the bathroom cieling with fixtures missing. It was clean so I can't complain too much. Overall, the Panorama Ballroom was a superb location for the ceremony and reception, the rooms could be better and the staff is could work on their attitude. If the day of the wedding didn't turn out as well as it did I would have given this venue 3 stars.
