Our wedding reception venue cancelled on us months before the wedding, and luckily we found the Sheraton. I wished we had booked with them earlier. Elyse went above and beyond to make the day perfect. She always extremely responsive and never got impatient by the hundreds of emails from me, and mother in law. She was there the day of the wedding to ensure everything was on time, and coordinated with the DJ my wishes. I can’t recommend them enough. They are a little more expensive but you get what you pay for. It was well worth the price, my guests are still raving about how beautiful the wedding was. The food was amazing, and I feel like they added other tiny touches to personalize our wedding and make it perfect.

This review is solely for the consultation/wedding tour. I was seriously considering this venue because Harbor Island is so beautiful and I love being so close to the water and boats. It’s just an amazing and perfect wedding view! However, the way the Sales and Events team handled everything was very disappointing and unprofessional. I was in contact with Logan Kirk, who seemed nice via email. She sent me an estimate prior to our tour, and when she showed me around the ballrooms, it was such a beautiful space. But then I told her my concerns about the pricing and asked if she could revise it based on my budget, which she said she could. After the tour, I never heard from her again! I sent emails following up on the updated estimate and no response. I understand if my budget didn’t work with the hotel, but at least tell me instead of completely ignoring me. So rude! Hopefully that doesn’t happen to anyone but just wanted to give you a heads up that it could.

The Sheraton is an ideal spot for a large wedding with all the amenities. The hotel is clean and the staff is very gracious and accommodating. The venue comes with a wedding planner (Jessica), who is very sweet and attentive and organized. She will answer your questions and try and coordinate deals with the hotel for you.
The price is decent, that is the reason for the 4 stars- There were some additional service charges that come with a hotel property and a 28% tax. But overall it is more affordable than having to bring in a lot of your own vendors. They offer packages that include the basics and you can scale your package to meet your needs.
The ballrooms are gorgeous, and the wedding suites are spacious and have a view of the San Diego Skyline or the Bay. Aesthetically I found this hotel very pleasing. I got married in the Bay Tower, which is the smaller, more intimate building 1/4 mile west of the main Marina Tower.
If you are looking to have pretty much the hotel grounds to yourself I'd recommend the smaller Bay tower. The Garden Terrace where the ceremony was held is quaint and set up perfectly so you don't need to add a lot of decorations. The Fairbanks ballroom has gorgeous chandeliers and a rich navy carpet so you can get away with doing a minimalist look.
All in all, I was very pleased with the Sheraton and the way my wedding turned out. If you want a gorgeous but affordable wedding location in San Diego I highly recommend looking here. I did a lot of research and there weren't many other hotel options for the quality and price.

Rooms were expensive, parking and breakfast were also pricey and NOT included with rooms. They were difficult to work with regarding the block reservations. They were late delivering the welcome bags and charge a delivery fee per bag. This hotel was the only thing that our guests complained about in the entire wedding weekend. Try to go with any other hotel. The Hilton next door has better customer service. We would have blocked through them but they were already fully reserved for a convention.

The Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina is a beautiful location. My wedding was beautiful and the staff on site were amazing. My only problem is a big one. When I booked this location I also requested a block of rooms to be reserved for my guest. I was told I would be contacted in the future to sign a contract to secure the rooms. I provided my contact information (email, phone, work phone, alternate phone). After some time I hadn't heard anything and so I check my email spam folder. There were 2 emails from the Sheraton regarding the room block. I replied to the email with a signed contract only to receive and email back letting me know they released the rooms and booked them to another event. I never received a phone call, at any of the 3 numbers I provided to try and reach me before giving away my rooms. The response I got was "maybe I should have called, but there is nothing I can do". I literally had to argue with Kirin in sales over best business practices. Clearly, I wasn't receiving emails, a phone call was a definite, not a maybe. Sadly, nothing ever came of it. I wrote several emails to Sheraton, I called Starwood Corporate, each time I would get a confirmation of my email, but no action was taken. They did nothing. I do have to say that Susan, the Sheraton's Event Manager saved the day, by using an inside contact to secure us a block of rooms at a nearby Hilton. I just wish the Sheraton would have realized that this was my wedding, not some conference and treated me with more care.

This was a beautiful site, the garden where the ceremony took place had a beautiful view of the water! And the reception took place a the Catalina Ballroom, which had a beautiful view of the bay and an open patio which was perfect for cocktail hour!

Overall, I am absolutely pleased with our decision to have our Ceremony and Reception at the Sheraton on Harbor Island, Bay Tower. The Ceremony site was breathtakingly beautiful and overlooked the Marina, making for spectacular pictures. The Reception site had the Cocktail Hour outside on a balcony which was just perfect and the inside was so gorgeous too, matching my colors for a Beach Themed wedding.
I received RAVE reviews about the food. I was actually told many people didn't dance because they kept eating more and more. I have to agree 1000% with them because the food was out of this world. I still am dreaming of their coconut chicken on a stick and balsamic glazed veggies. If you are a foodie, this is the place to have your wedding. From the moment I met with Susan, our wedding coordinator, I knew this was the place for us. It was much more money then we originally wanted to spend, but after seeing all that we got, we were hooked. The views and the beauty of it all made it all worth every penny. Although my dream wedding came to life here, I do have some cons that I wanted to share with you. The night before my wedding was our scheduled 'rehearsal' which I told Susan was only for dropping off all of our wedding decorations and supplies needed for our day. When arriving at the hotel to check into our room (that we had to pay for) it took over an hour to check in and the service that day was completely horrible. Bellhops tried to help us as Susan was with another couple, but we stood outside while cakes melted, cupcakes were destroyed and frustration grew. Finally the bellhops offered to take our stuff into their closet but by the time we spent doing this Susan came and had us take it to her office down stairs. Meanwhile, most of our guests were staying at the hotel in both the bay and marina towers and I was hearing about service complaints left and right. When people were checking in they were allowed to choose their tower instead of going into the one they booked, causing overbooking and people being moved back and forth between the two towers.
I had dropped off Guest Bags to be given when the guests arrived and there was a huge problem with that. Some people didn't receive them and when they went to go get it, were given the bags from another wedding! This made me very sad to know how mistakes were happening.
Then after our reception, we were told our suite was in the Marina tower, but the night before we stayed in the Bay tower. So we had to check out and get a bell hop to take ALL of our stuff to our suite. We had all of our guests waiting in the bar at the Marina Tower for us and it took about 2 hours to get moved. I cried. It was so sad to me because the excitement began to wear off as I stressfully waited.
Ultimately, the suite they gave us was amazing, and had champagne and strawberries which was a great touch to a stressful afternoon after our fun day. Then the next morning when we called to get a bell hop, he came right away and was so extremely helpful. Unfortnately as he pushed our cart to the car, he dropped our cake topper and it shattered into a million pieces, leaving me crying because that memory could not be replaced. The hotel said they would comp our room from the night before but I never saw the credit go through. Overall, I would recommend the Sheraton to get married in, but not necessarily to stay in or have your guests stay because they really dropped the ball on service.

The only reason why I will not give them a 5 is the miscommunication with the food for the day of the wedding. I made all of my menus to what I sent into the hotel for order, and everything got jumbled up a bit. Other then that, EVERYTHING was perfect!!!

The Sheraton met all of our needs - convenient (right near the airport, which was great as we had so many out of town guests), affordable (much more reasonable than comparable locations), and just a beautiful spot, surrounded by water

Our wedding at the Sheraton was really beautiful. We were lucky to have sunny skies and it made for perfect photos. Our ceremony was right along the marina which produced such great photos. The reception was in the Catalina Ballroom-the perfect size for our party. Staff was courteous and helpful, our catering sales person, Susan, pays great attention to detail. The only thing that went wrong was that another bride "accidentally" put the wrong time on her wedding invitations so there was another ceremony scheduled an hour after mine, so we were a little rushed for photos which was very annoying. No one from the Sheraton actually said anything to us, but they were setting up right where we were taking photos and staring at us like vultures waiting for us to get out of the way. I think they should have had her re-schedule the ceremony so that we didn't have to feel rushed at all. Other than that, the wedding went off without a hitch!

Was a great setting and place to have a wedding...what can I say I loved it! wonderful room that was indoor but also had a terrace with views of the marina and city. It was beautiful and the banquet manager was great. A little problem with communication with the coordinator, but I guess not everything can be perfect.

We were extremely happy with our wedding ceremony and reception at the Sheraton. From the first time we visited the Sheraton to take a tour, Stephanie (catering manager) made us feel welcome and confident in the hotel's ability to meet all our needs. Every staff member that we encountered did a fantastic job and our guests had a wonderful time. And let me just say that the food was INCREDIBLE!!!!!!! Nobody went home hungry that night. I had a wonderful experience with the Sheraton and would highly recommend it for a picture-perfect San Diego wedding.

The staff was wonderful. Very attentive, friendly. The food was fantastic and came with the wedding cake which was actually very tasty (unlike most wedding cakes). They were patient with answers, choices, payment. The hotel was beautiful - nautical theme, and every room had a view either of the bay or the marina/hills. We had a huge outdoor patio over the marina for our reception, a lovely indoor space with view of marina and downtown, a great cocktail space with view of bay and New Year's fireworks show was in view. Also, our presidential suite for the night was breathtaking and gigantic.;The staff was great, although we went through 3 point of contact people - 2 were great, and the one in the middle (who we think was promptly fired) was awful and only with us for a couple of weeks. There were a lot of cooks in the kitchen, but that may have been a temporary shuffling of staff and it all ended up smoothly and everyone at the end was wonderful and invested in making it a great day. One other minor issue... we had our wedding in the West Tower which is considerably down the road from the East Tower. It was walkable in decent shoes but not for wedding guests in heels. The East Tower is the one you pass first, so we had to keep reiterating to guests to stay in the West. But the staff directed everyone correclty.

being on the water and having a patio connected to our reception room so we could have the ceremony outside;we have 4 different people working with us and that was stressful. The first person got a promotion to another location, the second person left, the third person was not nice so we got the 4th person the head and she did a good job.

We had a beautiful view of the San Diego Bay. At the front of the hotel we had a view of Coronado Island the bay and the San Diego skyline. Our reception room had a private patio for us and our guests that faced the sailboats. We were also able to see fireworks at night from SeaWorld.;The cocktail hour was held at the private patio but the only way for guests to get there was to go through the ballroom. I would have liked it if the guests did not walk through the ballroom until it was time for dinner. Also since the guests had access to the ballroom prior to dinner my husband and I were not able to see the decorated ballroom before we made our grand entrance.
