From the minute we met Stephanie, we knew that she was the perfect person. She was always available (for 2 years of planning), cheerful, professional, and simply amazing to work with. Knowing that Stephanie had everything under control allowed me to completely detach from the details and enjoy my daughter's wedding weekend. She took our vision and helped create the wedding of the bride's dream. We would not have been able to do any of it or be totally present throughout the weekend without her. I only wish I had another party to plan so that we could work together again!

Where do I begin? It was an absolute pleasure working with Stephanie from start to finish. My wedding was at Lion Rock Farm which is a very “a la carte” venue with a lot of moving pieces and decisions to make. Stephanie made this process as easy as possible, using her impressive background in event planning to set expectations and help guide me when I needed it, without pressure. She was incredibly responsive, positive and a generally fun person to be around. My wedding completely exceeded my expectations and everything went according to plan. Stephanie was the perfect wedding planner! We feel so lucky to have had her for our wedding. She was incredibly responsive, often answering our numerous emails late at night and even over the weekend. She thought of every little detail. She was very familiar with all the wedding vendors in the area that we might need and was able to put us in touch with them as needed. We were a little unlucky with the weather on our wedding day, but Stephanie was somehow able to quickly adjust and make the whole day run smoothly and perfectly anyway! No task was too big or too small and she tackled every potential challenge with determination and a positive, can-do attitude. Our wedding was four days long, and she made it feel seamless. Put simply, Stephanie and her team are incredible. Under normal circumstances I would say Stephanie is the best of the best. Under COVID, she was unflappable. She helped us adjust everything, moved things seamlessly, and was a truly empathetic ear throughout it all without ever seeming to break a sweat. She has fantastic recommendations and relationships throughout the wedding industry, and we truly could not have pulled off our incredible wedding weekend without her. We got so much positive feedback from our guests about vendors and small details, all of which were Stephanie's idea. And over the actual wedding weekend, her team worked tirelessly to make everything run smoothly and perfectly. Stephanie is a planner who will just HANDLE THINGS for you instead of dumping problems in your lap. I found out after the fact that, for example, our mirrored bar arrived cracked from the vendor. Not only did she fix the situation, I had no idea it even happened until after the wedding was over. That's the kind of person you want on your team. Stephanie has a great eye for detail, a super positive attitude, and she knows how to pull off a high-end wedding while making it look and feel easy for the guests and the couple. From our first phone call with Stephanie, it was clear that she is extremely organized and professional as well as excited to plan weddings! She was super familiar with our venue (Lion Rock Farm), which was very helpful. Our wedding was delayed for one year because of COVID, so we ended up working with her (off and on) for about two years! She worked so hard to understand our vision. In the few months leading up to our wedding, her exceptional organizational skills were apparent. We were never concerned for a moment about last minute details — rental delivery, vendor coordination, day of logistics. Stephanie is nothing short of a life savor, dream maker, wedding planner extraordinaire !!! Our wedding planning was a saga - initially trying to plan it in 3 months, then pushing it a year due to COVID - and we would NOT have gotten through it without Steph’s many essential qualities: Stephanie is a real wedding expert, and knows how to plan a PARTY. She’s seen it all and can offer really valuable insight into what works best. This is crucial when you have a million decisions to make. She always imparted this advice with humor and with our preferences in mind - never over bearing, judgmental, etc. She is super detail oriented and consistent. Stephanie is a fantastic communicator. She is kind and patient, but urgent when necessary. She is so understanding of other life commitments and was always asking how she could be helpful to help us meeting deadlines. Stephanie has great relationships with vendors and makes excellent recommendations. She really is THE person to know if you’re getting married in the Lion Rock area. Stephanie was a force of calm and reassurance throughout the wedding weekend. She made everything happen behind the scenes but also made time to check in with us regularly. I don’t know how she does it! I would highly recommend working with Stephanie to make your wedding as perfect as possible!

Stephanie was incredible! Making weddings stand out this year is difficult but multiple friends and family told us that this was the “MOST FUN” / “BEST” / “MOST UNIQUE” wedding they had ever been to—none of which would not have been possible without Stephanie and team. I was completely overwhelmed with the process and Stephanie guided me every step of the way. Not to sound too corny but she truly helped our dreams come true. I truly don't know where to start but not only did Stephanie save my wedding when we had to plan it in 3 months, but she made it the most gorgeous and spectacular weekend that all of our guests are still talking about. She did not miss a detail. I found Stephanie about 3 months prior to our wedding date. We needed a new planner and very little had been planned because of the uncertainty with Covid. On top of it all we had a very complex venue where everything needed to be brought in; tent construction, generators, rentals, you name it and we needed to figure it out. Stephanie got to work on Day 1 and put all of my type A personality fears to rest. She was incredibly organized, thorough, detailed oriented and highly communicative. She not only helped organize and plan our 3 day wedding weekend in a short period of time, but she helped us to think through every detail from the smallest design aspects, to the flow of guests, to even setting aside appetizers for my husband and I to enjoy. I am not sure how 1 person can do it all but Stephanie manages to. Our guests were so impressed with the all of the "small details" scattered throughout the event and we have Stephanie to thank for that, as she thinks of everything. Stephanie was also such a joy to work with throughout the entire process, she became a friend I went to with all of my wedding questions from invitation preferences, to floral advice to napkin materials! There is no possible way I could ever capture how important Stephanie was to making our dream weekend come together, but I would say that it does NOT get any better than SHG!

There is not enough room here for us to put into words how incredibly grateful we are for SHG Event Planning, led by Stephanie Holst-Grubbe. This past weekend, after a year and a half of planning, our wedding was nothing short of ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. Stephanie is incredibly generous, thoughtful, kind and so dedicated to her craft. She is THE BEST at what she does. We were absolutely blown away by her attention to detail and her timing... but it is her ability to take what is usually a stressful time for many brides and grooms, and turn it into a fun and unforgettable process that really sets her apart from anyone else. She was on site and led our ceremony prep and rehearsal dinner. On the day of the event, she is on site and ready to go EARLY, making sure all bases are covered. From coordinating with the brides makeup artists, florist and photographer, to coordinating with the DJ and caterer, from the setting up of the event to the actual ceremony itself and the reception, Stephanie is the link that brings it all together. Multiple people from our family to friends said to us that this was the best wedding they had ever attended. That is not possible without Stephanie. She is LITERALLY the best, she is an absolute JOY to work with, and we are so incredibly lucky not only for her impeccable work ethic, but for her friendship. Stephanie orchestrated a year and a half long process which resulted in the best day of our lives and we are so immensely grateful for making it possible.

With Stephanie’s steady guidance, I planned my dream wedding in the middle of a pandemic, in about two and a half months. Need I say more? Because of a family health issue we couldn’t postpone the wedding until the pandemic was over, and Stephanie was our savior. She helped brainstorm how to keep everyone safe, provided an amazing list of vendors to pull from, and was a calm and wise voice throughout the process and most importantly on our wedding day! Anyone remotely involved in planning continually remarked what a pleasure she was to work with and have as a resource. She deftly navigated difficult questions and clashing opinions. I can’t imagine what my wedding day would have been like without her - because of her help I was able to focus on the important stuff: my groom, my family, and my wedding party. Despite unseasonably cold temperatures, it was a wildly successful wedding (if I do say so myself), in a *very* large part due to Stephanie. Count yourself lucky if you have her as your planner.

Covid Wedding Fairy Godmother We really wanted to sit down and take our time with this review as Stephanie was such an integral part of our wedding. She coordinated a weekend of events and connected us with some of the most amazing vendors in the industry. To be truthful, our wedding weekend would not have been possible without her. We hired Stephanie over 2 years ago when we booked our venue (Lion Rock Farm). We opted to have a long engagement, so the planning process started off pretty relaxed. Just as the planning started to really pick up, the pandemic hit, and we had no choice but to postpone. We essentially replanned a two-year process in a matter of months, all via phone, email and text. Though not in person, Stephanie was there every step of the way, not only as our planner, but as our friend. She eased our stress, heard our concerns, and checked in on us regularly throughout quarantine to make sure we were doing okay. Successfully pulling off a beautiful wedding is one thing, successfully pulling off a beautiful wedding during a pandemic speaks volumes to a planner’s abilities. The pandemic added a whole new layer of unprecedented challenges, but Stephanie remained positive through every obstacle in our way. She kept us informed of the ever-changing regulations and restrictions, and worked alongside our vendors to make sure our weekend celebration was as safe as possible. From the start of the wedding weekend, Stephanie handled absolutely everything, from coordinating with all of the vendors and tying up loose ends to happily handling our own added obstacles when we realized we had forgotten some of our wedding items. Then, to add to an already unique covid wedding situation, the remnants of a hurricane and lightning storm passed thru the area during our reception requiring us to temporarily evacuate. Again, with her calming demeanor, Stephanie and her team handled the evacuation in a way that kept our guests feeling safe and comfortable. When the storm passed, our guests were welcomed back into the tent and continued to celebrate the night away. Although our wedding was not exactly what we initially envisioned pre-pandemic, we could not have asked for more under the circumstances. We may be biased, but our wedding was absolutely beautiful and it was made possible by Stephanie. We cannot say enough about her and how incredibly grateful we are to have had her coordinate our wedding. We would absolutely recommend Stephanie for any event; her positivity and demeanor could ease any worried or stressed out couple. She successfully pulled off a wedding during a pandemic and hurricane... that alone should say it all.

Stephanie was more than just an event planner, she became a de factor member of our family. We started planning a wedding with her in March 2019 for a June 2020 date at Lion Rock Farm in Sharon, CT. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020, Stephanie worked with us to restructure our wedding, while still keeping the date and the details in tact. Her motto is “the details matter” and nothing could be more true for Stephanie. She focuses on details in a way that peers simply could not possibly match. She relies on her deep experience and wide network of vendors to bring the best to each of her clients. She does not compromise on quality and only puts her name on things that meet her high standards, which at times will mean she will help guide couples in a kind and gentle manner. This is what you want/need in a wedding planner. A “yes man” is not the right personality to plan an event of such a magnitude. Her warmth, empathy, kindness, and loving personality came shining through every day we worked with her. If you are getting married in the Northwest Corner than you need Stephanie by your side.

Stephanie was fantastic to work with for our wedding at LionRock Farm last weekend. I highly recommend her! She is organized, professional, hard working, caring, lovely and gets every job and task done immediately. She has a lot of pride and truly cares. She got back to me in minutes when I had questions and or concerns. We could not have had a successful and perfect weekend without her.

I cannot say enough about Stephanie and whole heartily recommend her. She was our planner for a September 2019 wedding at a destination she had never worked previously. Stephanie may be the most organized person I've ever met. We had the good fortune to have her contracted for more than one year. (I strongly recommend making your planner decision as early as possible to maximize your decision-making time.) She was stellar in managing timelines, vendor contracts and being available for questions and advice. She has a quality list of vendors with whom she enjoys an excellent reputation. We were incredibly happy with each and everyone of them (and there were over 20!)  At the wedding, she stepped in as she needed to so we weren't even aware of the minor logistical issues until the next day. If you want a 'smooth-sailing wedding', I strongly endorse Stephanie Grubb-Hoist.

I couldn't have better things to say about working with Stephanie. Throughout the planning process, Stephanie was attentive, organized and resourceful. My (now) husband and I hired Stephanie as our day-of coordinator for our August 17th wedding and she was impeccable! She is easy to contact and easy to work with – and her easygoing, calming presence really helps relieve the stress of the wedding planning process! Stephanie helped to alleviate any additional stress leading up to the wedding by providing helpful tips and resources that kept me and my husband on track for our big day. She took the reins on our rehearsal and made sure all of our attendants (and little ones!) knew what they were doing, and made it fun and enjoyable throughout. On our wedding day, I knew I had absolutely nothing to stress about because she was on it. Every little detail, every step of the way. I couldn't have asked for a better planner, and am so grateful that we picked Stephanie. She coordinated with all of our vendors, got all the necessary paperwork and insurance requirements from them, handled all of the little details and made everything so easy for us. There are not enough words to describe how grateful we are for Stephanie being a part of our special day. She is quick and knows how to handle situations on the spot. Due to torrential rain and thunderstorms in the middle of our tented wedding reception, Stephanie went around to each table and calmly explained that we needed to evacuate the tent and wait out the storm in the party barn. Normally this would be devastating for any bride and groom, but due to Stephanie’s expertise, experience and ability to seamlessly change course at the drop of a dime, our “evacuation” actually became what we like to call “the intermission”. She made sure everyone had a drink in hand, made sure the music was going, and did not miss a beat. Everyone had the best time, even though this was clearly not planned – and due to Lion Rock’s perfection, not one person even got wet. And it was a MAJOR storm! She handled it like the PRO that she is and we are so grateful to her! Stephanie is very good about keeping to schedule and adapting accordingly. If you need a coordinator, choose Stephanie because not only does she do an amazing job, but she does it with a warm heart. We only had Stephanie for the day-of package, but I am quite confident when I say that if you book her for your full wedding planning (or partial wedding planning) that you will have a truly beautiful wedding experience! I would recommend Stephanie to absolutely anyone!

We hired Stephanie to coordinate our wedding weekend at LionRock Farm in August 2019. She went above and beyond, answering questions and helping with decisions far before her official role began. On the wedding weekend, she was an incredibly calming force, helping everything go smoothly and dealing with all of the details so that we could sit back and relax. Stephanie made the weekend so special for us - we cannot thank her enough!

After looking at countless venues with my fiancé, we decided we didn’t want to have an “out of the box” type wedding. We wanted something different; we have been at weddings at so many of the places that we looked at for ours. We wanted something that we haven’t seen in any wedding pictures. So, we decided to have it at a local airport, in the hangar where my fiancé and his father kept their airplanes. This decision at the time seemed like a great one! But we realized quickly that we had our work cut out for us! There are so many “moving parts” in an unstructured location, like the airplane hangar. We didn’t’ even know where to start! Finding Stephanie was sort-or “Serendipitous”. We met her at one of our walk through at a venue that we didn’t’ end up going with because we were searching for something completely different. But one day, months later, while visiting the airplane hangar, we bumped into her! She was there organizing an event. I knew it was meant to be! She not only helped plan, organize and keep me sane through the entire wedding planning process, she was a “buffer” between me and the vendors. I could tell from the minute I met her, that she has a lot of experience in what she does. Like I mentioned before, our wedding was at an airplane hangar, so right off the bat there were a lot of hurdles we had and a lot of vendors we had to work with. She tied everyone together, like assembling a puzzle! She knew what kind of AMP was needed for the band, for the bathrooms, and for the caterers coffee pots. I would have never thought to think of these things. With the decorations, I gave her a few bins of things that I wanted to display at the reception and I didn’t have time to go around and tell her where I wanted everything. She did such an AWESOME job making my vision come to life! I received multiple compliments from our wedding party and guests at how “on point” she was with everything! She helped create a timeline of all the events for the weekend and she was even at our rehearsal directing people and organizing the flow. For all the brides out there who are having their big day at an unstructured or at a site that is not a wedding venue, please take my advice – call Stephanie, you will be so happy that you did. Planning a wedding is really, really stressful and Stephanie understands that. So please, sit back on your wedding day and enjoy it!

Stephanie is a Rock Star! We could not have done our wedding at LionRock Farm in Sharon, Connecticut without her guiding hand, kindness, professionalism, and expertise. She thinks of everything you don't or can't even anticipate. She ran our wedding weekend like a ship. I never worried or hesitated at any point knowing that she was behind the scenes orchestrating everything down to the tiniest details. Absolutely everything was perfect and no detail was missed or overlooked. We are still in awe that absolutely nothing went wrong! I can't recommend her enough or encourage the next lucky bride to hire her. She will be the best money you spend on your weekend. THE BEST!!! Stephanie made our daughter's wedding at Lion Rock Farm in Sharon, Connecticut run flawlessly from start to finish. She worked with us on all aspects of the planning process, always going above and beyond. When we needed advice when it came to making decisions on vendors, timelines, colors schemes, lighting, accommodations etc, she always had thoughtful and insightful recommendations. Never pushy, always professional and incredible taste to boot! I honestly don't know what we would have done without her! Lets do it again!!!!!

Stephanie was the definition of a perfect planner. She was on top of every single detail and I did not feel one ounce of stress the entire weekend. We needed to go with our rain plan for one of our events and her and her team pulled it off without a single hitch, everyone raved about the event! She seamlessly coordinated all of our vendors, including our friend who was officiating who mentioned to us that she executed with "marine like precision" before and during the entire weekend. We LOVED using her, she made everything so easy, straightforward and was helpful at every single turn. She was physically with us the entire weekend and that made me incredibly comfortable. I am just sad that I can't have a second wedding to use her again.

Hiring Stephanie was, hands down, the best decision we could have made for our wedding. From the first time we sat down with her, to every email, phone call, and meeting we had, Stephanie understood everything that we were looking for and helped us to create a wedding better than anything we could have imagined. In the weeks/months leading up to the wedding both my mother and I sent more emails and made more phone calls than we'd care to admit, and Stephanie took every one as if it were her main priority. She walked us through everything, gave us all the possible scenarios, and explained to us what she would do, without ever making us feel pressured to make a certain decision. Our plan was to be married outside, but as it goes, you cant always count on the weather. The morning of, Stephanie came in, sat me down and told me we were going to have to do our back up plan. After a brief moment of tears, Stephanie completely calmed me and helped me to realize the day would still be perfect, which it was, because of her. 5 stars really aren't enough for her, and I could write for hours about how great she is, but all that needs to be said is do yourself the biggest favor, and hire SHG Event Planning. Of all our vendors, SHG Event Planning was the best decision we made. Stephanie and her team made our wedding a magical experience. Stephanie went above and beyond her responsibilities to make sure everything ran smoothly. There were many unexpected surprises leading up to the wedding, which she managed beautifully. Stephanie's level of communication and her ability to think quickly and execute truly redefines professionalism. With the weeks and months prior to the wedding, Stephanie and her team were attentive to our vision and provided excellent insight and feedback to help us make decisions. She would provide suggestions and tell us what others have done in certain situations and always left it to us to make the final decision. The venue had introduced a lot of stipulations not explicitly detailed in the contract and made coordinating/setting up for the big day a huge hassle. Stephanie rolled with the punches and found solutions quickly and effectively. During the wedding day, there was a lot going on and Stephanie and her team handled all the coordination stresses, leaving us to focus our energy on our guests and to actually enjoy our wedding. Hands down, booking SHG Event Planning was the best decision we made.

Steph was INCREDIBLE to have as our wedding coordinator for our wedding weekend. Despite not being able to meet in person beforehand due to schedules and geographic distances, she was there every time I needed her prior to and during the entire weekend. She was fun, organized, and had a very calming presence, which of course was much appreciated. I am grateful she was there for me during the hectic last few weeks of planning as well as during the actual day of the wedding. She is a cool chick to have on your team and I would highly recommend her talent.

"Above and beyond the call of duty!" I have nothing but more-than-positive comments about Stephanie. We worked together for a year on my goddaughter's wedding.
