SHG Event Planning

single step of the way, helping us shape our vision, choose the right vendors, and make decisions we felt confident in. She went above and beyond in every possible way. She even came into NYC to help me design and finalize our table décor, which was such a lifesaver. She kept every vendor aligned, on time, and fully informed, something we never could’ve managed on our own. From coordinating hotels and guest accommodations to organizing transportation and keeping the weekend running smoothly, she handled every detail with so much care and professionalism. Most importantly, she kept me sane. Truly. Knowing she was on top of everything allowed us to fully enjoy our weekend without stress. Our wedding would not have been what it was without her. If you’re looking for someone who is organized, creative, calm, and incredibly supportive, look no further. We are so grateful for everything she did for us and cannot recommend her highly enough.

process, making all the stressful decision-making that much easier. On the day of our wedding, Stephanie and the SHG team took over all the little details and vendor management, which let us feel completely present and at ease on our special day. If you're looking for a wedding planner that is proactive, talented, and incredibly detail-oriented, you should absolutely consider Stephanie and SHG Event Planning. We cannot recommend her enough!!

o we could plan around her unavailability. She maintained her calm and efficient way even as we watched the storm clouds roll through on the day of our outdoor wedding. All went perfectly as planned and we are so grateful to SHG.

dding planning process. She naturally put us at ease and was so well-versed in our venue that we knew she was the planner for us! We had a strong sense of what we wanted for our wedding but no idea how to achieve it so we relied heavily on Stephanie to keep us on task and on time in our planning while also leveraging her knowledge of the surrounding area and her strong relationship with vendors throughout the tri-state area. We definitely kept her on her toes by seeking out very specific items that fit our vision (namely lavender plates and decor!) and she handled every challenge we threw at her with ease, determination and positivity. Since LRF is such a blank slate venue we had many questions about what had worked in the past and what we could do to make our wedding unique and Stephanie always made herself available to us whenever we had just one more question. Our entire wedding weekend went off without a hitch—she and her staff handled everything so seamlessly and we can’t thank them enough for keeping things organized while we enjoyed time with our friends and family. My mom and I went into this wedding planning process very green and a bit overwhelmed with everything we needed to get done and throughout the process and even looking back now we always said/say that we simply couldn’t have done it without Stephanie. We whole-heartedly recommend SHG Event Planning and are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Stephanie on our special weekend! If you’re considering her for your big day, look no further—you’re in great hands.

rd it all and executed an outside tent wedding that was magical! My daughter and I wouldn't have changed a thing! Know that working with Stephanie and her team you will get exactly what you are looking for.

ue professional. With many moving parts to our weekend, she laid out our day to help us conceptualize what was feasible. Many of our vendors also commented on how professional and detail-oriented Stephanie and her team were leading up to the event which speaks volumes. On the day of, Stephanie even jumped in to help with last-minute details like putting on my veil and steaming my dress. My parents were very involved in the planning process, and she was extremely responsive and an absolute pleasure to work with for all of us. I cannot imagine my wedding experience without Stephanie and recommend her to anyone considering a planner!

alf!). She has great relationships with vendors allowing for a super smooth process. Despite downpours throughout my completely outdoor wedding, I didn't even blink an eye because I knew Stepahnie was handling everything. On my wedding day, all I had to do is enjoy it because Stephanie knew all our plans like the back of her hand. It was PERFECT.

phanie helped us to achieve that. She quickly understood and embraced the balance that we were seeking without ever pushing us toward a particular agenda and, consequently, we could hear ourselves think and choose what best fit us. She was patient as we had multiple "switching gears" moments and we never felt pressured. For all pieces of the upfront guidance, we say thank you many times over. Stephanie and her team's presence and calm throughout Friday and Saturday set the perfect tone. We are the type of people who tend to find it easier to DIY rather than seeking help and we were truly able to relax in the hands of Stephanie, her team, and our selected vendors. Working with Stephanie was simply a pleasure. We hope every wedding with Stephanie brings as much happiness to the couples and their families as she brought to ours.

ervices to anyone planning a wedding.

th. Knowing that Stephanie had everything under control allowed me to completely detach from the details and enjoy my daughter's wedding weekend. She took our vision and helped create the wedding of the bride's dream. We would not have been able to do any of it or be totally present throughout the weekend without her. I only wish I had another party to plan so that we could work together again!

as her ability to bring in the vendors we needed. Above all, she listened well and prioritized our goals and dreams. Stephanie was just the BEST - she created a magical, memorable day that went incredibly smoothly!

m and ensure everything went smoothly behind the scenes. From the very start, Stephanie was extremely attentive, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented, but what makes her even more special is her warm, gracious and enthusiastic personality. She accommodated every question or request we had (big or small), without ever making us feel like we were a burden. When things felt stressful in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding, Stephanie was there to guide us, propose solutions and most importantly, make us feel at ease. She is extremely quick to reply and always ready to step in and help however needed. We will forever be grateful for Stephanie’s service. Our wedding completely exceeded our expectations thanks to her and her team! Cannot recommend her enough!!!!

welcome party for 140. Her unflappable personality was appreciated throughout the process. I live out of state so it was so valuable to have her expertise regarding local vendors. I highly recommend Stephanie!

Stephanie is extremely responsive, creative, organized, has an eye for design and detail and is overall a wonderful person to be around. I will definitely be using Stephanie for my next child’s wedding!

on every little detail throughout the entire wedding weekend. They made the weekend feel easy and just incredible. Throughout the process Stephanie kept us on track with timelines and had a network of different vendors that she has pre-formed great relationships with. We also have never met someone more responsive and quick to respond on emails!! Add that skill to the long list of accolades and talents. We cannot recommend her and her team MORE HIGHLY!!!!!! :)

pieces and decisions to make. Stephanie made this process as easy as possible, using her impressive background in event planning to set expectations and help guide me when I needed it, without pressure. She was incredibly responsive, positive and a generally fun person to be around. My wedding completely exceeded my expectations and everything went according to plan. I definitely attribute that to Stephanie’s organization and attention to detail. I cannot thank Stephanie enough for her partnership and helping us throw the wedding of our dreams!

ent style is excellent -- attention to detail, proactive thinking, fastidious follow-through. She has exquisite taste and helped generate and build on creative and unique ideas that brought our vision to life and made the event very special. She leads the process in a commanding and collaborative way -- none of us could believe how calm and relaxed we felt and we know it was because we knew Stephanie and her team had everything covered and magnificently managed under her careful and caring eye! She introduced us to new vendor partners and worked beautifully with the ones we had already contracted - she created a great team spirit. We cannot speak highly enough about her expertise, talent, sense of style and collaborative manner. It was a pleasure and delight to work with SHG Event Planning every way! To say our wedding weekend exceeded our expectations would be an understatement! It was truly a dream come true! We are still walking on air!

worked our event provided was invaluable to our entire weekend and wedding experience. Especially with our venue having been at Lion Rock Farm in Sharon, CT, Stephanie is clearly the best fit around for anyone looking to have their day there. I was 8 months pregnant on our day, with a toddler, and even still I was able to relax knowing that the SHG team had everything under control!

le, high e.q., and fun - in a professional way. My daughter, her fiancé, my husband and I loved working with her. Recommend her without hesitation.

en over the weekend. She thought of every little detail. She was very familiar with all the wedding vendors in the area that we might need and was able to put us in touch with them as needed. We were a little unlucky with the weather on our wedding day, but Stephanie was somehow able to quickly adjust and make the whole day run smoothly and perfectly anyway! We'd highly recommend her to anybody - would give her a thousand more stars if we could!

certain decisions have to be made without it feeling pushy at all. She has so much experience that if we were ever stuck on a decision she was able to provide helpful guidance around what has worked in the past, but always let us voice our opinions and only offered her own if we asked, the perfect balance. As soon as we showed up to the venue, Stephanie took our multiple boxes of materials for the entire wedding weekend and made it clear she had everything covered so we could just relax and enjoy it. Our vendors also commented on how easy it was to work with Stephanie and how much they appreciated her collaboration. We couldn't recommend Stephanie any more highly--she was so wonderful to work with and truly came to feel like a friend by the end of it!

de wedding planning feel approachable, easy, and fun! She is beyond talented!!

hold the record for being the worlds fastest responder to all forms of communication. :) She was able to understand our wedding vision when we weren't even able to put words to it and helped us assemble an impeccable vendor team for our big day. On our wedding weekend she worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure the entire weekend ran flawlessly. The moment we stepped on site we were able to hand everything (and by everything I mean a uHaul of items) off to Stephanie and she took it from there. The weekend was more than I could have ever imagined. Every detail was thoughtfully addressed and executed thanks to Stephanie and her team. I could not recommend Stephanie enough! She is an incredible planner and an even better person! <3

ess. She turned our wedding planning experience into a truly joyful process. We felt like we were in capable hands throughout! Stephanie is an incredibly knowledgeable and experienced planner, well versed in Hudson Valley and CT weddings. She has deep vendor relations in the area, which is so appreciated. We were her first Sikh wedding and brought her on roughly four months before the wedding date. She dove right in and learned about our culture and traditions with enthusiasm. No task was too big or too small and she tackled every potential challenge with determination and a positive, can-do attitude. Our wedding was four days long, and she made it feel seamless. Stephanie is excellent at vendor relations and logistics. Most importantly - it was FUN. It felt like working with a friend for four months; she truly kept us sane with her calming, joyful energy. We truly cannot recommend Stephanie enough!

were always happy with the outcome) and listened to our requests as well. She went above and beyond to help leading up to the day of the wedding and we could be so relaxed all wedding weekend knowing we were in good hands. You will not regret hiring her!

n capable hands. Save yourself the time & just book her and her team now.

everything, moved things seamlessly, and was a truly empathetic ear throughout it all without ever seeming to break a sweat. She has fantastic recommendations and relationships throughout the wedding industry, and we truly could not have pulled off our incredible wedding weekend without her. We got so much positive feedback from our guests about vendors and small details, all of which were Stephanie's idea. And over the actual wedding weekend, her team worked tirelessly to make everything run smoothly and perfectly. Stephanie is a planner who will just HANDLE THINGS for you instead of dumping problems in your lap. I found out after the fact that, for example, our mirrored bar arrived cracked from the vendor. Not only did she fix the situation, I had no idea it even happened until after the wedding was over. That's the kind of person you want on your team. Stephanie has a great eye for detail, a super positive attitude, and she knows how to pull off a high-end wedding while making it look and feel easy for the guests and the couple. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Lion Rock Farm), which was very helpful. Our wedding was delayed for one year because of COVID, so we ended up working with her (off and on) for about two years! She worked so hard to understand our vision. In the few months leading up to our wedding, her exceptional organizational skills were apparent. We were never concerned for a moment about last minute details — rental delivery, vendor coordination, day of logistics. It was so reassuring to have her present throughout the weekend, we cannot recommend her highly enough. Thank you Stephanie!

it a year due to COVID - and we would NOT have gotten through it without Steph’s many essential qualities: Stephanie is a real wedding expert, and knows how to plan a PARTY. She’s seen it all and can offer really valuable insight into what works best. This is crucial when you have a million decisions to make. She always imparted this advice with humor and with our preferences in mind - never over bearing, judgmental, etc. She is super detail oriented and consistent. Stephanie is a fantastic communicator. She is kind and patient, but urgent when necessary. She is so understanding of other life commitments and was always asking how she could be helpful to help us meeting deadlines. Stephanie has great relationships with vendors and makes excellent recommendations. She really is THE person to know if you’re getting married in the Lion Rock area. Stephanie was a force of calm and reassurance throughout the wedding weekend. She made everything happen behind the scenes but also made time to check in with us regularly. I don’t know how she does it! I would highly recommend working with Stephanie to make your wedding as perfect as possible!

y had ever been to—none of which would not have been possible without Stephanie and team. I was completely overwhelmed with the process and Stephanie guided me every step of the way. Not to sound too corny but she truly helped our dreams come true. Stephanie is super organized, understood the vibe we were going for instantly, kept us on task when we needed it, and is a great communicator. She calmly and strategically helped us tackle the inevitable obstacles. especially the covid curveballs with our multiple wedding dates. Her local area knowledge is wonderful and has solid relationships with local vendors which is an added plus. Also she is SO nice—brings such a wonderful energy and genuinely fun to talk to. I can’t tell you how many ideas I bounced off of her 😊. I would HIGHLY recommend Stephanie and her team!!!!!!

of our guests are still talking about. She did not miss a detail. I found Stephanie about 3 months prior to our wedding date. We needed a new planner and very little had been planned because of the uncertainty with Covid. On top of it all we had a very complex venue where everything needed to be brought in; tent construction, generators, rentals, you name it and we needed to figure it out. Stephanie got to work on Day 1 and put all of my type A personality fears to rest. She was incredibly organized, thorough, detailed oriented and highly communicative. She not only helped organize and plan our 3 day wedding weekend in a short period of time, but she helped us to think through every detail from the smallest design aspects, to the flow of guests, to even setting aside appetizers for my husband and I to enjoy. I am not sure how 1 person can do it all but Stephanie manages to. Our guests were so impressed with the all of the "small details" scattered throughout the event and we have Stephanie to thank for that, as she thinks of everything. Stephanie was also such a joy to work with throughout the entire process, she became a friend I went to with all of my wedding questions from invitation preferences, to floral advice to napkin materials! There is no possible way I could ever capture how important Stephanie was to making our dream weekend come together, but I would say that it does NOT get any better than SHG!

ould recommend her to anyone that's looking for a wedding planner, especially at the Lion Rock Farm venue where her local knowledge was an incredible value-add!

l, kept us honest and on track, gave us great advice, and was just a joy to bounce ideas around. She helped me and my husband enjoy the day by taking care of everything big and small. I couldn’t have been happier and more impressed with the service and professionalism.

ew tears. Stephanie was with us from day 1, helping us select and manage our vendors, staying on top of deadlines, and was always available to answer questions or to give us a friendly nudge in case we strayed from schedules. Stephanie handled all of the obstacles thrown at us with such grace and was always extremely pragmatic about her process, which gave us a sense of calm and control that we very much needed at times. After playing such an immense role in our lives during an extremely tumultuous time and for our wedding day to have surpassed all of our wildest imaginations, we were actually saddened by the notion that we would no longer have as frequent interactions with Stephanie. We feel as though we truly connected with her and wish to remain in contact in the years to come. We would recommend her services to anyone looking for a wedding planner with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

alf of planning, our wedding was nothing short of ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. Stephanie is incredibly generous, thoughtful, kind and so dedicated to her craft. She is THE BEST at what she does. We were absolutely blown away by her attention to detail and her timing... but it is her ability to take what is usually a stressful time for many brides and grooms, and turn it into a fun and unforgettable process that really sets her apart from anyone else. She was on site and led our ceremony prep and rehearsal dinner. On the day of the event, she is on site and ready to go EARLY, making sure all bases are covered. From coordinating with the brides makeup artists, florist and photographer, to coordinating with the DJ and caterer, from the setting up of the event to the actual ceremony itself and the reception, Stephanie is the link that brings it all together. Multiple people from our family to friends said to us that this was the best wedding they had ever attended. That is not possible without Stephanie. She is LITERALLY the best, she is an absolute JOY to work with, and we are so incredibly lucky not only for her impeccable work ethic, but for her friendship. Stephanie orchestrated a year and a half long process which resulted in the best day of our lives and we are so immensely grateful for making it possible.

rience in running events large & small, her organizational chops, and her endless patience makes her AMAZING. I can’t wait to work with her again! Plus she is fun!!

n’t postpone the wedding until the pandemic was over, and Stephanie was our savior. She helped brainstorm how to keep everyone safe, provided an amazing list of vendors to pull from, and was a calm and wise voice throughout the process and most importantly on our wedding day! Anyone remotely involved in planning continually remarked what a pleasure she was to work with and have as a resource. She deftly navigated difficult questions and clashing opinions. I can’t imagine what my wedding day would have been like without her - because of her help I was able to focus on the important stuff: my groom, my family, and my wedding party. Despite unseasonably cold temperatures, it was a wildly successful wedding (if I do say so myself), in a *very* large part due to Stephanie. Count yourself lucky if you have her as your planner.

ents and connected us with some of the most amazing vendors in the industry. To be truthful, our wedding weekend would not have been possible without her. We hired Stephanie over 2 years ago when we booked our venue (Lion Rock Farm). We opted to have a long engagement, so the planning process started off pretty relaxed. Just as the planning started to really pick up, the pandemic hit, and we had no choice but to postpone. We essentially replanned a two-year process in a matter of months, all via phone, email and text. Though not in person, Stephanie was there every step of the way, not only as our planner, but as our friend. She eased our stress, heard our concerns, and checked in on us regularly throughout quarantine to make sure we were doing okay. Successfully pulling off a beautiful wedding is one thing, successfully pulling off a beautiful wedding during a pandemic speaks volumes to a planner’s abilities. The pandemic added a whole new layer of unprecedented challenges, but Stephanie remained positive through every obstacle in our way. She kept us informed of the ever-changing regulations and restrictions, and worked alongside our vendors to make sure our weekend celebration was as safe as possible. From the start of the wedding weekend, Stephanie handled absolutely everything, from coordinating with all of the vendors and tying up loose ends to happily handling our own added obstacles when we realized we had forgotten some of our wedding items. Then, to add to an already unique covid wedding situation, the remnants of a hurricane and lightning storm passed thru the area during our reception requiring us to temporarily evacuate. Again, with her calming demeanor, Stephanie and her team handled the evacuation in a way that kept our guests feeling safe and comfortable. When the storm passed, our guests were welcomed back into the tent and continued to celebrate the night away. Although our wedding was not exactly what we initially envisioned pre-pandemic, we could not have asked for more under the circumstances. We may be biased, but our wedding was absolutely beautiful and it was made possible by Stephanie. We cannot say enough about her and how incredibly grateful we are to have had her coordinate our wedding. We would absolutely recommend Stephanie for any event; her positivity and demeanor could ease any worried or stressed out couple. She successfully pulled off a wedding during a pandemic and hurricane... that alone should say it all.

arm in Sharon, CT. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020, Stephanie worked with us to restructure our wedding, while still keeping the date and the details in tact. Her motto is “the details matter” and nothing could be more true for Stephanie. She focuses on details in a way that peers simply could not possibly match. She relies on her deep experience and wide network of vendors to bring the best to each of her clients. She does not compromise on quality and only puts her name on things that meet her high standards, which at times will mean she will help guide couples in a kind and gentle manner. This is what you want/need in a wedding planner. A “yes man” is not the right personality to plan an event of such a magnitude. Her warmth, empathy, kindness, and loving personality came shining through every day we worked with her. If you are getting married in the Northwest Corner than you need Stephanie by your side.

ery job and task done immediately. She has a lot of pride and truly cares. She got back to me in minutes when I had questions and or concerns. We could not have had a successful and perfect weekend without her.

ay be the most organized person I've ever met. We had the good fortune to have her contracted for more than one year. (I strongly recommend making your planner decision as early as possible to maximize your decision-making time.) She was stellar in managing timelines, vendor contracts and being available for questions and advice. She has a quality list of vendors with whom she enjoys an excellent reputation. We were incredibly happy with each and everyone of them (and there were over 20!)  At the wedding, she stepped in as she needed to so we weren't even aware of the minor logistical issues until the next day. If you want a 'smooth-sailing wedding', I strongly endorse Stephanie Grubb-Hoist.

Stephanie as our day-of coordinator for our August 17th wedding and she was impeccable! She is easy to contact and easy to work with – and her easygoing, calming presence really helps relieve the stress of the wedding planning process! Stephanie helped to alleviate any additional stress leading up to the wedding by providing helpful tips and resources that kept me and my husband on track for our big day. She took the reins on our rehearsal and made sure all of our attendants (and little ones!) knew what they were doing, and made it fun and enjoyable throughout. On our wedding day, I knew I had absolutely nothing to stress about because she was on it. Every little detail, every step of the way. I couldn't have asked for a better planner, and am so grateful that we picked Stephanie. She coordinated with all of our vendors, got all the necessary paperwork and insurance requirements from them, handled all of the little details and made everything so easy for us. There are not enough words to describe how grateful we are for Stephanie being a part of our special day. She is quick and knows how to handle situations on the spot. Due to torrential rain and thunderstorms in the middle of our tented wedding reception, Stephanie went around to each table and calmly explained that we needed to evacuate the tent and wait out the storm in the party barn. Normally this would be devastating for any bride and groom, but due to Stephanie’s expertise, experience and ability to seamlessly change course at the drop of a dime, our “evacuation” actually became what we like to call “the intermission”. She made sure everyone had a drink in hand, made sure the music was going, and did not miss a beat. Everyone had the best time, even though this was clearly not planned – and due to Lion Rock’s perfection, not one person even got wet. And it was a MAJOR storm! She handled it like the PRO that she is and we are so grateful to her! Stephanie is very good about keeping to schedule and adapting accordingly. If you need a coordinator, choose Stephanie because not only does she do an amazing job, but she does it with a warm heart. We only had Stephanie for the day-of package, but I am quite confident when I say that if you book her for your full wedding planning (or partial wedding planning) that you will have a truly beautiful wedding experience! I would recommend Stephanie to absolutely anyone!

ial role began. On the wedding weekend, she was an incredibly calming force, helping everything go smoothly and dealing with all of the details so that we could sit back and relax. Stephanie made the weekend so special for us - we cannot thank her enough!

many of the places that we looked at for ours. We wanted something that we haven’t seen in any wedding pictures. So, we decided to have it at a local airport, in the hangar where my fiancé and his father kept their airplanes. This decision at the time seemed like a great one! But we realized quickly that we had our work cut out for us! There are so many “moving parts” in an unstructured location, like the airplane hangar. We didn’t’ even know where to start! Finding Stephanie was sort-or “Serendipitous”. We met her at one of our walk through at a venue that we didn’t’ end up going with because we were searching for something completely different. But one day, months later, while visiting the airplane hangar, we bumped into her! She was there organizing an event. I knew it was meant to be! She not only helped plan, organize and keep me sane through the entire wedding planning process, she was a “buffer” between me and the vendors. I could tell from the minute I met her, that she has a lot of experience in what she does. Like I mentioned before, our wedding was at an airplane hangar, so right off the bat there were a lot of hurdles we had and a lot of vendors we had to work with. She tied everyone together, like assembling a puzzle! She knew what kind of AMP was needed for the band, for the bathrooms, and for the caterers coffee pots. I would have never thought to think of these things. With the decorations, I gave her a few bins of things that I wanted to display at the reception and I didn’t have time to go around and tell her where I wanted everything. She did such an AWESOME job making my vision come to life! I received multiple compliments from our wedding party and guests at how “on point” she was with everything! She helped create a timeline of all the events for the weekend and she was even at our rehearsal directing people and organizing the flow. For all the brides out there who are having their big day at an unstructured or at a site that is not a wedding venue, please take my advice – call Stephanie, you will be so happy that you did. Planning a wedding is really, really stressful and Stephanie understands that. So please, sit back on your wedding day and enjoy it!
