We work with only a select number of clients per month and never more than one per weekend in order to ensure our brides, grooms, and their families receive a superior level of service. Jessica and Lauren are ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!! Seriously, stop looking, you have come to the right place. I interviewed multiple planners and Jessica and I clicked immediately. I am naturally a Type A personality and could tell that she understood me immediately. She has a wealth of knowledge, experience, and great recommendations!! She referred us to our photographer, DJ, and videographer. We started chatting a little less than a year before the wedding and she helped guide me through all necessary steps. She stayed current with our vendor selections and updates to our plans. She helped us to make decisions we had not thought of and prepared us for what the day would look like. Anytime I called/texted she was incredibly responsive and we usually chatted for at least an hour (sorry Jess lol), as if we had been friends our entire lives. Jessica made suggestions, that were much appreciated, and listened attentively as I described my ideas. She was also open to a little fun during the rehearsal (my dad and I put on blow-up dinosaur costumes to walk down the aisle) and helped us execute that without many people knowing. On the morning of our wedding she said checked in with us frequently to ensure we had what we needed and to put us at ease with how everything was coming along. You could tell she was in her element! She was as calm, cool, and collected as she was during our first phone call. She made sure all other vendors were moving along, and reminded them of time limitations where appropriate. She worked diligently to ensure our vision came to life and that all the on the same page. She handed us off to the photographer for the first look, and then met us at the second picture location about 30 mins later with a glass of water (she knows what you need before you do). We were able to grab a few sweet pictures there and later that night! She made sure the day was seamless, fun, and filled with love. Both Jessica and Lauren are meticulous and created the wedding of our dreams! I only wish we had another event to work with Jessica and Lauren! We are so THANKFUL and HONORED to have had them there with us on our special day. We don’t know what we would have done without them!
So to begin we had hired jessica back in 2019 for our 2020 wedding in Phoenix. We had interviewed many wedding planners and in the end felt jessica would be the best help us plan our special day. She was very attentive, had great suggestions, lots of contacts and experience, which is what we needed since we live in another country (Canada).
Fast forward and everyone knows the pandemic hit. Now trying to plan an out of country wedding during the pandemic was not an easy task but lots of communication and follow ups from jessica made us feel that we could pull this off. Unfortunately when the time came the pandemic was full on and this wasn’t going to happen. Jessica helped with all the negotiations with the resort and aided in anything we needed during this difficult time. We were able to rebook for 2021 hoping the pandemic would be done in a year. Jessica stayed in touch the entire time. I’m sure this was the longest time between hire and a wedding she’s ever had.
In the end the pandemic wasn’t slowing down and us being from another country, the realization was settling that this wasn’t going to happen with 95% of our guests flying international to attend. We have to say during these tough times and Negotiations trying to cancel. Fighting to get our deposits back. Jessica was instrumental in talking to vendors, keeping our hopes up and doing everything in her power to help. I’m happy to finally say in the end, even though we didn’t officially have the wedding we were able to retrieve a large portion of our deposits back. Jessica even offered some back which was very appreciated. She went above and beyond for us and I would recommend her for anyone needing a wedding planned in Phoenix. She was with us during the hard times and I wished we were able to use her for the good. I encourage anyone that needs assistance to hire her as she never left our side for over 2 years when we were stressing if we would ever have this wedding or get any of our money back afterwards.

Shine Events was awesome! Jessica and her team helped us every step of the way and responded to our questions in a timely manner and were very professional! We didn't have any stress during our wedding day as we knew they had our back. I would highly recommend choosing them as a wedding planner! We would have been lost without them! They also help connect you with other vendors.
Jessica Gelder and the entire Shine Events team far exceeded my expectations for wedding planning. Jessica was wonderful and went out of her way to make sure I understood all that was involved in planning a destination ceremony. As it turns out, I had no idea. She patiently guided me step by step for every choice from vendor selection to creating a beautiful program for our ceremony. When my fiancee (now husband) and I first met with Jessica we both felt instantly comfortable. We knew she was absolutely the right choice because of her honesty, flexibility, and amazing attention to detail. Selecting vendors is very important as I have since learned. Jessica's vendor selection was spot on. They were nothing short of fabulous and perfectly aligned with my style and vision. I felt we were given the best service ever in part because every vendor told me personally how much they loved working with Jessica. For the number of moving parts, she is incredibly organized. She also went over and above on many occasions to make our experience the best it could be. The first day we flew in to Phoenix- straight from the airport to meet with the florist - she kindly offered to take us to dinner, run any errands that we needed, and drove us to the resort. Those special kindnesses were not part of our contract - that just goes to show how much effort she puts in her work. Even when working with another bride the same week, she took the time to bring an assortment of cookies to the resort to sample for our gift bags. She took my calls or responded to text and email day and night, week day or weekend promptly and thoroughly.
Looking back I don't know what I would have done without her. She even pitched in tirelessly to help with another local event I'm having next weekend. I have received, and am still receiving endless compliments on our wedding weekend. My wedding day was the most spectacular and perfect day of my life and I thank this team immensely for making it happen. Out of everything, hiring Shine Events was the best money spent! To any couple considering wedding planning - for the service you will receive, the outcome far exceeds the cost. I miss her already! Shine events came highly recommended to me and now I understand why.
Jessica and her team at Shine Events did the most incredible job putting together our Pine Canyon Club wedding in Flagstaff, AZ this last September! She has a wonderful personality, was punctual and professional, and was a pleasure to work with throughout the process. Despite our day being a destination wedding, Jessica did an incredible job quickly organizing vendors, finalizing details (large and small), and coming up with additional ideas to pull together our elegant bohemian theme. By the wedding day, I was stress-free knowing that Jessica and her team were on top of executing a great event! I would highly recommend Jessica and the team at Shine Events for your wedding or big event - she will not let you down!
One of the first decisions we made in the planning process for my daughter's wedding last February was to hire a planner. Jessica with Shine Events impressed us from the start with her attention to detail and creativity. She really listened to my daughter and did whatever she could to help her vision become a reality. She was very responsive, which was important to us, as decisions would have to be made quickly and we valued her input. When the week of the wedding arrived she took charge and the day of the wedding was stress free for us thanks to her advance planning and timeline. We couldn't have done it without her! The wedding and reception were beautiful and Jessica and her staff worked behind the scenes to make sure everything went off without a hitch. We were so pleased we've hired her for our younger daughters wedding in September!
My husband and I decided early on that we needed a planner who could help us navigate the wedding process. Jess was a perfect fit. She is honest, flexible and truly a terrific advisor, and I credit her completely with helping my husband and I pull off a dream wedding that was within budget. She helped us refine our vision; consulted with us to ensure our budget expectations stayed realistic, and recommended several excellent vendors to us, all of whom worked out perfectly. And, when we needed her for something time sensitive she was always accommodating. Jess has a direct, decisive style which is exactly what I needed being the novice that I am about the wedding industry and being a fairly busy working professional. In the weeks leading up to the big day my husband and I would literally blink and things would get done - it was amazing! Jess coordinated my vendors and executed the ceremony and reception (which were at separate venues) flawlessly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her!!!
I highly recommend Jessica and Shine Events! I was having trouble wrapping up some final details for my wedding and working on tying everything together and Jessica was just what I needed! I felt that she went above and beyond for me. She was always available when I had questions or just needed to talk things over. She helped me put all the finishing touches on our big day and then hand delivered all wrapped in a bow! On our wedding day things went off without a hitch and it was all because of Jessica and her amazing team! Everything was just as I had dreamed. I can not thank her enough for all of her hard work and dedication. She is extremely talented and was so wonderful to work with!
Jessica and her team were there for us from Day 1 and made the wedding planning process seamless. She is incredibly organized and professional. She took my ideas and turned them into a well executed and complete reality. Our reception took place at an estate that required everything down to the desert forks to be brought in. Every single detail went off without a hitch, all thanks to Jessica and her team. Not only is she a tremendous wedding planner, but she's also a wonderful person!

A++. Jess might agree that I was a pretty particular father of the bride :), so believe me when I say she's just awesome. My daughter has provided a review as well so please have great confidence when choosing Jess. All weddings are likely complicated to some degree, but my daughter's was in Phx and we all live on the other side of the country. The wedding venue certainly wasn't typical and provided a fair amount of additional complexity. Planning from afar was challenging but I couldn't be happier that Jess was in charge. Everything went off without a hitch. Every last detail was covered. Jess and her crew were on top of everything. Sometimes the small touches speak loudly -- the crew ironed every table cloth, even the sides just to be sure it all looked perfect. It was a wonderful day from start to finish and that would have been impossible without Jess. We are all grateful, and we all encourage you to chose her to do your wedding. Great companies should be rewarded with more business.
It's hard to know where to start with Jessica Gelder and Shine Events. I was given Jess' name by my wedding venue as a preferred planner and upon talking to her for the first time - it was clear that she was beyond the best choice. Not only am I incredibly grateful for being introduced to Jess, but I feel incredibly grateful that she agreed to take on our wedding.
As all brides know - wedding planning has its ups and down, the stress can be high and the number of moving parts can be overwhelming. From the moment I started working with Jess, there was never a moment when I ever thought she didn't have all of this under control and/or that she wouldn't be there to support me and my family in any way she could. She has a way about her that calms you, makes you feel understood and also that you've got someone in your corner to make everything happen. She makes time for her brides, works so hard and knows all the best wedding secrets!
Her style, vision, and insight when it comes to weddings (and life in general) are impeccable and truly I credit her and her hard work for making my wedding the perfect day for myself, my husband and our families lives. Without her, our day wouldn't have been half of what it was. She created the most beautiful event I've ever seen and ensured it went off without a hitch.
Since my wedding day, I've been telling everyone how incredible she is and how much I'll miss working with her every day. I don't anticipate this will stop anytime soon. As my husband would say....I'm "obJESSed" and I hope you get to be someday too.
If I could give Jessica Gelder from Shine Events 10 stars I would! At our initial consultation I knew she was the perfect wedding planner for me, we just clicked! Jessica took on our wedding knowing that we had a short timeline to work with and she handled it with complete professionalism, class and grace! Jessica accompanied me to tour venues, to look at linens, flowers, décor, everything… She even helped me with ideas when I was struggling with my “vision,” she was literally beside me every step of the way. Jessica is not only one of the very best wedding planners out there, she also has an accounting degree so she will make sure you stay within your budget! There are no words to truly describe my gratitude for Jessica and her team on my wedding day, everything was executed with perfection and simply put, it would have been impossible without her talent. I will forever be grateful to Jessica for making my wedding a dream come true!
I can't say enough about Jessica and the Shine Events and Floral Design team! Planning a wedding is so overwhelming especially when your family lives across the country. There are so many decisions too make and it is very stressful! Jessica made the entire wedding planning nightmare so easy! She was there for me any time, day or night, and any day of the week. She made me feel like I was her only bride. She definitely goes above and beyond to make everything go smoothly! She made all my visions turn to reality! My wedding turned out exactly how I imagined. I highly recommend this team!!
The Floral Design team is also amazing!! Saying my flowers were beautiful is an understatement. The bouquets and centerpieces were more gorgeous than I ever would have imagined. I knew exactly what I wanted and they made it come true! They will work with you and really listen to what you want. Then their vision and expertise put all the finishing touches together! So amazing!
I can't stress enough how great this team is! I wish I could give them 10 stars!!
