The night my now-husband proposed was the best night. There was complete shock and surprise, so much love, and some *serious* ugly crying. He even hired a videographer, so I am able to relive it as much as I want- in all it’s Christmasy, nose running wayyyy too much, glory.
So, now on the figure out our BIG day. If my guy can do such an incredible job secretly planning the proposal, I can at least plan our wedding, right? The “only” problem? 12 hour overnight ER shifts, 24 hour ambulance shifts, and so many ‘I want a Disney wedding!’, wait, ‘I want a creole wedding!’, wait, ‘I want a 50s style wedding!’ glory. Oh sweet mercy. The decisions were endless, the hours weren’t enough in the day, and my conflicting styles made my all-too-well put together Mama about pull her hair out.
So, in comes Kelli and Simply Detailed Weddings. Now, please don’t let the name fool you: there was *nothing* simple about these incredible ladies. There was also just about nothing simple as far as the wedding I had pictured in my mind. It was a big jumbled mess, and so was I trying to put it all together. Kelli stepped in, and Good Lord. This lady could word and brain exactly what I dreamed of, but couldn’t word or brain on my own. Now, add Brittany and Debbie to the mix- and now we’re cooking with gas.
I went into planning sessions thinking the only way I’d be able to handle it was with an entire box of wine (I’ll call it cardboardeaux- it’s fancier than the original), but walking out of those sessions feeling much less like I would end up on a episode of Snapped or Worlds Most Insane Weddings. They combined my passions, quirky style, husbands loves, some Say Yes To The Dress flare, and elegance- and made it *the* best day of our lives.
I cannot thank these ladies for their passion, understanding, and answering my insane hour texts with grace nearly enough. And seeing as none of them quit after helping guide me through the greatest day- I’ll call that a win!
