Lindsay is the best, most patient, most helpful, incredible, organized, kind, and thoughtful person. I’m not exaggerating when I say, our wedding would not have happened without her. She was absolutely fabulous from beginning to end. She understood our vision and then took it to the next level to create the most beautiful day for my husband and I. From the beginning, Lindsay was always so attentive, making sure that at every stop of the process we were happy and getting exactly what we wanted.
We got married in May in NYC, and going into this process, my husband and I had no idea where to start with vendors or pricing, but Lindsay was able to give us her top recommendations for each, which turned the process into something very easy, simple, and fun. We didn’t stress about anything and Lindsay always sent us reminders to make sure we stayed on schedule, which was so helpful since my husband and I have very crazy work schedules.
The day of the wedding I didn’t have one stress in the world because Lindsay had planned out everything down to the minute. And if I had a question she was there instantly. There’s so much more to say but honestly, she made our wedding planning process and our wedding day extraordinary and it wouldn't have been possible without her.
Me and my husband had absolute NO idea what we wanted for our wedding. Shortly after we got engaged, we started looking at wedding review sites for vendors and felt so overwhelmed by the choices. We were lost, felt under prepared and didn't know where to start. After receiving a recommendation from our friend, we quickly got in touch with Lindsay from Simply Sunshine Events. Not only did she make it a point to get to know us personally and made sure she understood exactly what we were looking for, she designed one beautiful wedding! The vendors she recommended were an incredible fit for our style and personalities and did a phenomenal job. With Lindsay and her team by our side, we knew we were in great hands. They effortlessly (well, we know it was a ton of effort but they made it look like a breeze), navigated the ins and outs of our venue (which was a blank space and had to bring e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g and everyone in) and made it the most beautiful space we had ever seen (think Style Me Pretty and the type you see on Pinterest!).
On our wedding day, let's just say it could have easily quickly gone south. It started to pour with incredible wind in the morning (we had an outdoor ceremony) and we were incredibly nervous. Lindsay and Co. made sure that we weren't just prepared with a plan A, but a plan B, C (you get the picture). Luckily, the sun came out, but without Simply Sunshine Events, we would have been an absolute wreck. I have never felt more taken care of (my husband echoes the same sentiments) and really, if it had rained, we still would have had a rockin' party!
Our wedding day, and all of the time we worked with them leading up to our wedding day, was simply amazing. We are the lucky ones to have been able to work with Lindsay and Simply Sunshine Events and cannot thank them enough for the professionalism, honesty, eye for design and all of the little details, but most of all, for taking the time to get to know us. I struggle to put into words how much my husband and I enjoyed working with Lindsay. She is a true visionary and worked magic with completely anti-wedding couples such as ourselves. Lindsay understood everything we wanted (and did not want - and there was a LOT we did not want). The year we worked together couldn't have been less stressful and on the big day, you could truly see Lindsay loves what she does. My relatives and friends still can't get over the enchanting theme and event she helped plan with us. Magic.
Lindsay was a godsend during our year and a half of wedding planning. There’s no way we could have pulled it off without her. She was so on top of everything every step of the way and took the pressure off our shoulders. My husband and I are eternally grateful as we’re not much of planners ourselves. Our situation had the potential to be catastrtrophic (getting married in the middle of upstate New York with half the wedding guests coming from South America), but Lindsay ensured that not only was everything absolutely perfect, the entire planning experience and day of seemed flawless and exceeded our wildest wedding dreams. We got married four months ago, but people are still talking about how gorgeous the event was. None of it would have been possible without Lindsay. Lindsay is absolutely incredible! Lindsay was our #1 trusted resource during our wedding planning process. She is reliable, responsive, creative, organized, knowledgeable, and overall a uniquely talented person with an obvious dedication to her brand. She guided us through the wedding planning process from start to finish; from what kind of questions to ask during initial venue tours to helping to put memorable finishing touches on our big day! Lindsay has years of invaluable industry knowledge and contacts, and was able to draw on those to provide us with high quality referrals. For example, we were overwhelmed by the number of vendors in our area and wanted to pick a videographer who was easy to work with and would produce a professional quality, personal video that we would cherish forever. Lindsay delivered! She introduced us to an amazing videographer and we were thrilled with the final result. In addition to being a constant resource, she went above the call of duty and helped us design the programs for our ceremony – expertly matching the font and graphics from our invitation to the program. Her attention to detail and quick turnaround on the programs lifted such a weight off our shoulders in the final hours of planning! I've never felt more cared for than during the months leading up to my wedding. Lindsay managed my day-of logistics, but her attention to our wedding started months earlier. She would consistently check in with me to make sure I was on track, make recommendations, and help to to alleviate last-minute stress. All of my friends were stunned at how calm I was the week of my wedding. That was in part due to Lindsay's meticulous planning skills, guidance and advice. She gets 5 stars plus for her dedication, creativity, organization, and obvious love of her work. Hire her! You won't regret it.
Lindsay (Simply Sunshine Events) was a genuine lifesaver in our wedding planning process. My husband (Mike) and I decided to get a wedding planner when we were about 2 to 3 months into wedding planning. We had picked our ceremony and reception venue and had worked out a few vendors, but did not really have a vision or idea of how to go about the rest of the process ourselves. I read about Lindsay on another review and instantly knew she would be someone that both my husband and I would easily get along with through the wedding planning. When we first met Lindsay, my thoughts were confirmed. Not only is she kind, sweet, and relaxed (in a great way!), but she's really knowledgeable about wedding planning and event design in general. Lindsay made it a priority to get to know Mike and I as a couple as to better put our ideas, our style, and our interests into our wedding. Within the first couple weeks of meeting her, she created 3 visions of our wedding that she felt suited us, which was amazing to see put together. From there, she gave amazing recommendations for vendors, discussed options very clearly with us, gave great visuals, and was ALWAYS available to communicate via email and phone as well. Both my husband and I work full time and we never had to worry about things getting done with Lindsay as our planner. She is driven, efficient, honest, and super creative. The month, week, and days before the wedding were seamless because Mike and I did not have to worry about anything. We were able to fully enjoy the most important day of our lives thanks to Lindsay AND her amazing team! And to top it all off, the wedding was PERFECT!! :)
Simply Sunshine Events is fantastic! Lindsay was extremely personable and committed to making our wedding dream a reality. She was always available, responsive, friendly and able to think of the little aspects of the wedding that we didn't even think about.
Our wedding weather was horrid - cold, rainy and windy. She made sure we had a backup plan for everything though and as soon as we made the call to have the ceremony inside on the wedding day, she made it happen.
She made sure everything was taken care of, that everyone was communicating , that our wedding still looked AMAZING, and, best of all, that we didn't have to worry about any of it on the wedding day :).
I personally film weddings for a living and have been doing so for eight years. Having filmed over 300, I knew what I wanted (and definitely what I DIDN'T want) for my wedding. Lindsay was the person I trusted most to take care of making that a reality.
I have worked with her for weddings ranging from 70 guests (ours) to over 500. Each one was different because of her incredible expertise, knowledge, and passion to make each couples' vision shine through in a unique way. She loves what she does and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone who wants their wedding to look great, run flawlessly and to enjoy it without worry.
Lindsay was AMAZING! She helped us find the best venue for the event that we were looking to have within our budget, and her recommendations for vendors were spot on! The day of the wedding, we were truly able to enjoy everything as Lindsay had everything so organized and planned out, and she handled anything that needed handling! I can't say enough great things about her!
Let me preface this review by saying if you are thinking about getting a wedding planner in the NJ/NY area, definitely reach out to Lindsay! She is absolutely amazing and will help craft an event that is better than you could have imagined. She has been such a pleasure to work with, and would highly recommend her. Let me back up and give you some context. My husband and I knew we wanted to get married in NJ on my uncle’s farm. The only problems with that were that we lived across the country in OR and we didn’t have a building to have the ceremony in. My husband and I also both worked full time jobs. We realized we had time constraints and hiring a wedding planner was a good idea.
After reading some reviews online, I reached out to a few planners and set up a couple of introductory calls to hear about their services and experiences. When I started talking to different wedding planner, every one of them started off by telling me about all of their packages and what was included in their service. Lindsay was different. Unlike the other planners who immediately went into their sales pitch, Lindsay wanted to hear our story and what we wanted in our wedding. It seemed like she genuinely wanted to help us create our special day, not just give us a cookie cutter list of services. This was such a refreshing and personal way of approaching wedding planning. I knew from that minute that I wanted her to plan my wedding.
We decided to get help on both the design portion as well as the planning portion of our wedding. I'm really not the most creative person in the world and I felt like we needed help putting together the overall vision. We were presented with a personalize design brief with a couple of different options. Once we decided on a vision, Lindsay was able to pick out vendor options that she thought would work well with the venue and overall theme. It was so much less overwhelming being able to choose out of a couple of highly recommended vendors than from everyone.
Which leads me to another important thing that Lindsay brought to the table: experience. Not only has she worked with all of these people before, but she has seen all the ins and outs of doing a wedding at a "home" venue. Initially, we thought it would be more cost efficient and easier to have an at home wedding. However, it turns out that this makes the whole planning process much more difficult since we had to not only style a wedding but actually create a venue. Lindsay instantly knew all the things we needed to look into - a tent, flooring, a generator, bathrooms, the list goes on and on. She provided us super detail specific timelines of when we should do each task, as well as supplemental tools to assist us along the way.
Overall, I’m so glad we worked with Simply Sunshine for both the planning and design part of our wedding. The wedding went off beautifully and I was so glad I could just relax and be fully present on the wedding day. Even though there was threat of rain all the way up to the actual day, we were able to execute a plan B (added extra tents) that most people had no idea was actually not what we originally intended. I was so thankful to have such an amazing team of vendors backing me up through the preparation and actual day, even when we threw curve balls at them. Simply Sunshine Events has made this whole planning process less stressful than I was initially expecting, and made our wedding day more amazing than I ever could have hoped for.
As we got closer to our wedding date, our friends and family always asked, “Are you stressed? Are you nervous?” The answer was always a resounding “no!” and that was all because of Lindsay. My now-husband and I knew from our very first meeting that we were in great hands. She got to know us and then tailored to reflect us as a couple. Nothing was cookie cutter. We got married on Vieques, Puerto Rico, a tiny island off the coast of Puerto Rico, meaning logistics for an 80+ person wedding were going to be challenging. She made it look like a breeze, seamlessly working (and befriending, no less) all our vendors. We highly recommend Simply Sunshine to all of our friends who are even thinking about getting married for weddings in Vieques, New York, and across the globe.
Words cannot describe how wonderful and amazing Lindsay is. Wedding planning was a breeze with Simply Sunshine Events by my side. Lindsay was able to answer every question and inquiry that I had. There were so many little things details that I never even knew about that she took care of. She helped guide us through all the tough choices, like DJ, photography, videographer, flowers, and everything in between. She was able to interpret our vision for the wedding to the T. Lindsay and the Simply Sunshine Events team is and was an absolute delight to work with! We had lofty dreams of incorporating a hot air balloon during our reception, and with the help of Lindsay she made our vision come to life in a tasteful, black tie fashion. Of course, Lindsay also recommended the absolute best creative team from a cinematographer, calligrapher, beauty team, and photographer who all made our day so special! We loved Lindsay's thoughtful approach to design and event coordination--not only is she ready with a plan "A", "B", and "C", but she also conceptualized a wedding design scheme specifically tailored to us as a couple. Lindsay made herself available to respond to our questions (from the most mundane to the most tedious that we had not even anticipated!) and went above and beyond her call of duty! Thank you so much Lindsay for making our loved ones and ourselves make the most wonderful memories. We could not have done this without you!
LOVE! I loved everything about my event and working with Lindsay. She made my dream wedding come true. I was super busy and Lindsay accommodated my crazy work schedule. She is beyond just an event planner, she truly cares about her clients and makes them feel at ease. I must say because of Lindsay I was a relaxed bride. I loved all of her vendors and they made every little sketched out idea come to life. I would not have had such an amazing wedding without Lindsay and Simply Sunshine Events.

I interviewed several planners and ended up going with Lindsay because I loved her positive energy and her strong point of view--I live in the West Coast and was planning a NJ wedding and I wanted someone who was well connected and could steer me quickly in the right direction. She was also willing to create a custom package for us so I could be flexible in what I wanted to do myself v what I needed help with. Lindsay lived up to all of these expectations!!
Our wedding was complicated. Two ceremonies + reception in the same day all in different rooms, with different decor, music, languages, attire, etc. It was like planning three mini weddings!! But Lindsay did it all in stride. She helped me imagine the end vision for our wedding and then we worked backwards to figure out the step by step process to get there. Lindsay's organization really came in handy--she had guides, templates, timelines--all kinds of tips and tricks to make sure we stayed on point.
I also appreciated all of Lindsay's recommendations on vendors--she is well connected and put us in touch with some amazing people--especially our florists, photographer and videographer. Other awesome things about Lindsay are (1) her attention to detail--she will really think through an issue from all angles so you always feel like you are in great hands (2) her willingness to go the extra mile--this is such a special quality; the couple days before the wedding, Lindsay was picking up all kinds of extra tasks to make the day easier for my husband and me--so very appreciated (3) her can do attitude--no matter how complicated things got, Lindsay assured me it would all work out and it did!

Lindsay Jani of Simply Sunshine Events made the most important day of our lives absolutely beautiful! We had no idea how much effort went in to planning a garden wedding for 180 guests, but Lindsay guided us through the planning process by taking time to get to know us as a couple, presenting creative planning ideas, providing us with organized timelines and budgets, and connecting us with amazing vendors. Lindsay of Simply Sunshine Events went above and beyond to help me plan my dream wedding. I haven't attended many weddings in my adult life, so I had a lot of questions about expectations and etiquette, which Lindsay answered clearly and thoroughly.
She was particularly helpful in educating me about stationery as I was pretty clueless about my options and, once I familiarized myself, I was then overwhelmed by choice. Lindsay helped to steer me in a direction with our invitations that fit our budget and aesthetic, as well as my desire to work with someone local and in-person rather than order online without consultation.
Lindsay had excellent advice for me regarding my DIY projects as she has a great eye and lots of experience with DIY projects of her own. I really appreciated her help when it came time to make our ceremony programs at home.
Last but not least, I rented table runners from Simply Sunshine Events. I had a vision of burlap table runners which I had neither the time nor skill to make myself so it was a huge lifesaver when I learned I was able to rent them from Lindsay. They really added a unique, textured element to our tablescapes.
