SJ Wedding Design

I'm in the NE and was planning my son's wedding rehearsal dinner party for 126 guests in TX, I knew I needed help. At the recommendation of a popular Houston southern style cuisine restaurant that catered our event, I hired Sarah of SJ Wedding Design to be our Planner/Day of Coordinator. It was the best decision I made for the entire wedding weekend! My son and his fiance already picked the restaurant to cater the dinner at an historic Houston fire station. Everything except the tables and chairs needed to be brought in. I knew I needed help, I didn't know of any vendors for rentals, floral, etc. and I couldn't be in two places at the same time - the wedding rehearsal & setting up at the venue for the dinner party. Sarah was instrumental in finding and working with vendors that fit in our budget, negotiating the costs and making sure everything went accordingly with them on the day of. She was onsite the entire day and evening of our party, she was there to make sure all of the deliveries were received and accurate, was hands on with the set up and breakdown of everything including: linens, table & service ware, barware, AV equipment, videographer, floral and decor. She transformed an old fire station into a beautiful elegant space for my our special evening! (I wish I could upload pictures) During the entire planning stage and during the event she worked very closely with our caterer and staff to make sure the cocktail hour, bars and food service went off without a hitch. The wedding rehearsal ran late and one motor coach bus with the wedding party and half of the guests arrived 40 min late, Sarah adjusted the timeline for the evening accordingly to make sure the guests that were on time were served hors d'oeuvres and drinks and the ones to arrive late also had time to enjoy some before moving upstairs for the dinner. The wedding party and some guests had to depart for a welcome party at another venue by a certain time, and our bus schedule was planned around that. Dessert was to be buffet style, but she asked the buffet servers & bussers to serve the guests at their tables while the speeches/toasts were going on - that adjustment kept us very close to the scheduled timeline for the evening. I was not planning on taking the floral and decor at the end of the evening. Between the cocktail tables, foyer, buffets and dinner table centerpieces we had 23+ flower arrangements. One of the most special things Sarah did was take them to a senior citizens home the next day. I LOVED that she brightened the day for others, and the flowers weren't wasted!!! Sarah of SJ Wedding Design did an amazing job for us, I highly recommend her and I would hire her again in a heart beat!!!
