We hired Brenna and her partner for day of coordination for our small/midsize wedding in Blacksburg, VA. We mostly needed someone to handle details on the day of and help with directing questions away from us, the couple. I waffled between giving 4 vs 5 stars, but our actual wedding day ended up going very, very smoothly, so I went with 5 stars. She and her partner grabbed our florals and the decor items, set everything up pretty much exactly as I'd envisioned it, and helped with coordinating the wedding party once everyone arrived. They made sure folks were lined up when they needed to be and helped with the processional. They made sure we were fed, which we really appreciated. They handed our items for our exit, made sure tips got to vendors, and moved all our stuff to one location to pick up the next morning. All in all, I believe we received the service that we paid for.
The two main points for feedback I want to provide are 1) communication and 2) staying updated on details. There were a few times where an email or text would go unanswered for a while, which made me feel anxious, especially as we got closer to the big day. But, in the end, all questions got answered, so it was really just a timing issue. The other point would be keeping details straight. I made an effort to be very organized when I made my schedule and various lists, and I tried my best to communicate my vision to everyone involved. There were a few times where I had to repeat things that I had already sent via email or text. At our rehearsal dinner she said she had a lot of weddings back-to-back so she was mixing them up in her head, which made me feel like we were just another set of clients, and I feel like it's important for your vendors to make you feel special on the day of.
I think as the ladies at Slate and Stone get more experience under their belt, things will go even better in the future!
