I chose Slate due to the simplicity of planning, and it’s a beautiful space with minimal decor. Slate comfortably held our wedding of 100, and we had the best time!
My only feedback for them is that their house mic is not the best. I’d recommend having your DJ bring their own mic for you to use during the ceremony or reception.
Also, we were in contact with 4 different coordinators through the process. This doesn’t make for the smoothest planning, but our event was great regardless.
STAY AWAY! I did not have my wedding here but I did recently have a 30th birthday party at the venue. The General Manager was not very professional. When I would email her about my event, she took days and sometimes weeks to respond to my emails. She waited to the last minute to rent my linens/napkins so I was not able to get the napkin colors I originally wanted. She ordered white plates instead of confirming the plate style with me. We wanted white and gold. I was told that there was only a cake cutting fee but when we discussed a dessert table and the items I was bringing, I was informed that because they were outside desserts I would have to pay this fee regardless if I needed anything cut 2 weeks before my event. She was rude to my event planner the night before when she was decorating the space and also inebriated. She turned the lights off on them while they were still inside. They had to use their cell phone lights to gather their belongings and exit the building. I did not have my correct final invoice until 10 minutes for party. She texted me and asked that I pay it before my event starts even though she has never been timely throughout this entire process. After I cut my cake at my party, I was told by my event planner that the GM refused to bring out the cake because I did not pay my invoice. So instead of being able to enjoy my party, I had to deal with the payment issues due to her unresponsiveness during the week. The employees who were responsible for the cleaning of the tables that we sat at were very vocal about how nasty it was offending many guests who attended and were still there. Overall, this entire experience was unpleasant and I would not recommend anyone to have their event here or at Willow. The GM is responsible for both places.
My husband and I just got married at Slate. We held both the ceremony and reception in the venue. Everything there was so perfect for our intimate wedding. We had about 55 people and the space would be great for up to 75/80, I bet. The staff was SO LOVELY. Everyone we worked with was kind, efficient, easy to get a hold of, and patient. They made that day so easy and perfect. They catered the event, (and it was delicious!) handled the cakes, the linens, and even were able to offer a parking garage and use of their audio system for music for the night. We were so happy and thrilled with how everything worked out. I would 100% recommend Slate or Willow for an easy stress free venue for a smaller wedding! It was also BEAUTIFUL!
Truly cannot say enough good things about Slate, Willow, and the Bailey’s team. They were extremely helpful through the process, worked with us to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it, and the day of staff were fantastic. It’s also a plus that the food is phenomenal and the venue is beautiful. We’ve gotten so many compliments on every aspect of our day and highly recommend anyone considering either Slate or Willow for their venue to move it to the top of their list.
Beautiful space at an affordable price. Darcy was a big help in putting our menu together and organizing the space for the best layout. Loved the blank slate I worked with to bring my tastes into the space!
Slate was a perfect spot for our ceremony. I really like Slate because it was so plain that you can decorate however you want and the lighting is just perfect. We had our wedding at 5:30 pm in July so the room was bright. It was a perfect spot for us because we had our reception at Willow so our guests didn't have to drive anywhere after. Rae was a big help. She listened and helped us figure out what was the best layout for us.
We had our ceremony at Slate and reception at their sister space, Willow. Both were beyond fabulous, and it worked well for us to have separate spaces for ceremony and reception. The Bailey's staff were easy to work with, and of course the spaces were beautiful. We worked with Rebecca, who was wonderful. She helped our vision come to life in their space. She was flexible and worked with us to make sure everything was perfect.
