My husband and I just got married at The Bowery Hotel in New York City (best day ever thanks to Lis & our team!), and the entire planning process was so smooth and enjoyable. Lis i...
s beyond exceptional at what she does, and her decades of experience as a planner are evident in every aspect of the process. She is passionate, creative, organized, and someone we feel so lucky to have had as our wedding planner.
From the very beginning, Lis was intentional about understanding our vision and what mattered most to us. She expertly guided us through every decision, presenting just the right number of options for vendors, design choices, and everything in between—enough that we always felt like the decisions were ours, but never so many that the process became overwhelming. She was also so thoughtful when it came to navigating family situations and dynamics, always knowing when something required extra care and discretion.
Lis was extremely communicative, proactive, and someone we trusted completely. She worked seamlessly with all of our vendors, some based in New York City and others coming in from Boston, and made coordinating so many moving pieces look effortless. She also brought so many original ideas to the table while always making sure the wedding still felt like us. One of our favorites was a “guest book experience” with a spinning postcard rack where guests could write and leave postcards for us. Also, as an artist, it was really important to me to incorporate some of my artwork throughout the wedding, and Lis did an amazing job helping me weave it into everything from our invitations and menus to our hand-drawn table cards, while making sure the design felt cohesive and personal.
By the time our wedding day arrived, we felt completely confident. Lis was the ultimate hype woman, so positive, bubbly, and excited for us all day long! Most importantly, my husband and I were able to truly be present and enjoy every second of our wedding. We never had to think about timelines, logistics, or what was supposed to happen next. Everything came together even more beautifully than we had hoped, and our guests truly could not stop raving about the wedding, how seamless it felt, and how much FUN they had!
My husband and I truly had the best wedding day, and Lis was such an enormous part of making that possible. I would recommend her from the bottom of my heart to anyone planning their wedding. We could not be more grateful to Lis.
Elisabeth and Dina helped me plan the most magnificent New York themed graduation party for my daughter this May. I had never worked with party planners before, and I don't think ...
I could ever go back! Their attention to detail was absolutely breathtaking, and their presence allowed me to actually enjoy the party. Also, I was amazed with their ability to pivot when the weather for my outdoor party went from being in the 80s to a storm in the 40s. Thank you so much ladies!!
We had the pleasure of working with Elisabeth, owner of Slope to Coast. We brought her on board as a consultant to help finalize the last details of our daughter’s wedding. Her att...
ention to detail, professionalism and dedication were truly exceptional. She took the time to understand our vision and made sure every aspect of the day reflected us. She was a calming and reassuring presence throughout the process. She went above and beyond to make our daughter’s special day a success. We can’t recommend her enough! Thank you Elisabeth!
Elisabeth was fantastic to work with, both as a consultant during planning and as a day-of coordinator! She made our wedding perfect, we couldn't recommend her more.
I highly recommend working with Elisabeth and Slope to Coast Events for any event. She is intensely organized, detail oriented and has the ability to make a connection with anyone....
She is outgoing and fun to work with. When beginning to plan my wedding I knew I wouldn't have the proper time management to do this on my own. I found Elisabeth through a referral, and the first time I met with her, I knew we were a match. I came to Elisabeth with a venue and a vision, and she nailed it. Working with Elisabeth was seamless, and she truly cared about the event and what we wanted as clients.
Upon a Star is the epitome of professionalism and enthusiasm. Elisabeth listened intently to the story of how I met my fiancé, how we got engaged, and our aspirations for the futur...
e. She came up with an incredible theme for our engagement party and executed it perfectly. Her attention to detail and excellent communication skills make her and her team a pleasure to work with. I was delighted with the event and I would highly recommend Upon a Star.
Elisabeth brought our dream wedding vision to life A-Z. After working at Boston Weddings magazine for 7 years she was my #1 choice. Following our first meeting, she went over every...
detail of my 100 slide powerpoint and memorized it and then went back over it again with a fine tooth comb. Not only did she bring our vision to life but she also constantly brought new ideas to the table that were a perfect match with the esthetic along the way. Every vendor loved working with her, went the extra mile because of her, and no question was left unasked. The elements that sat between vendors like table numbers and graphic design she helped create custom for us...there is truly nothing she can’t tackle exceptionally well. She was always 10 steps ahead, so much so that the entire bridal party learned her name quickly and even the groomsmen have been been quoted saying ‘we remember Elisabeth taught us’. She genuinely cares and you feel like she’s part of not only your day and the days leading up but a part of your family you really wanted with you every step of the way — keeping it fun, not losing sight of it being you two and your love that matters most, and allowing you to fully be present in every moment. Mind you, I wasn’t looking for more family, I’m Irish, it just organically became that, in the best way. Whatever your looking for I’m confident Elisabeth can execute it. I’m so thankful we hired Elisabeth, our day truly would not have been the same without her. I’d recommend her as your first vendor phone call to all brides, if you want all the magic and none of the stress, you’ll thank me later I promise.
Ps. This wedding was planned and replanned during COVID which was a whole nother feat Elisabeth navigated flawlessly
We hired Upon A Start Events in 2019 for our wedding! After seeing their team execute so many amazing weddings and events in the Boston and surrounding areas we knew they would do ...
a great job. Lis had the creativity we were lacking and she brought such a fun, amazing energy to our planning! She quickly caught on to our style and continuously came up with new, exciting ideas that we loved! When COVID-19 hit, Lis seamlessly moved our wedding date to 2021. She advocated for us better than we would have ourselves to make sure that our day was the most special. We certainly would not have been able to secure a wedding date in 2021 with ALL of our same vendors if it weren't for Lis. She is truly amazing and was always there for a phone call of meeting whenever we needed it. She planned a stunning bridal shower full of surprises!!! At our rehearsal event, all of our guests complimented us on the Upon A Star staff! They were beautifully dressed, professional, and on top of EVERY minute of our event. Lis was always one step ahead of us - even our guests commented on how she somehow was the last person out of the rehearsal at the chapel and the first to the rehearsal event. The day of the wedding was so seamless because of the Upon A Star staff who dropped off welcome bags to our guests at multiple hotels, checked in at the venue to ensure vendors were arriving and setting up as planned, then back in with the bridal party to ensure everyone had what they needed. If you are looking to avoid last minute stressors Upon A Start Events is the way to do it!!! Lis was there at times I didn't even know I was going to need her... like when my mom and MOH headed off to the ceremony in separate transportation and I was walking to meet my dad. Lis was with me so I wasn't alone! At the reception in the midst of all the fun and commotion Lis was there to bustle my dress when I couldn't find my mom or MOH. Every day of our special weekend was flawless thanks to Upon A Star Events and it continues to be amazing post wedding with all of the surprises we have received!! You will NOT be disappointed with Upon A Star Events! I would rebook for another event in a heartbeat!
Elisabeth was a blessing amongst the horrors of 2020. We hired her to help postpone my Sister's wedding when Covid restrictions prevented half of the guest list (the groom is from ...
australia) from coming to the new 2021 date. She was a flawless contributor, successfully got the venue on board for a 2022 date and moved all of the contracts and vendors. She was organized, thoughtful and led every conversation towards a productive solution. She is the BEST would recommend her to anyone looking for an all-star planner.
Working with Lis is a dream. Not only is she knowledgeable about her craft, but she makes it so we didn't have to sweat anything for our big day! Our reception was done DIY style, ...
and really it all came together because of Upon a Star Events. On the morning of the wedding, instead of making sure all our stuff was together and where it should be, she had it covered, leaving us to enjoy the morning with our respective wedding parties! Couldn't have had such a successful day without her!!

ys available for efficient communications. The day was elegant, fun, and flawless. My bride-to-be couldn't have been happier and neither could I!!

ook and feel of the wedding, and put the wheels in motion to make it perfect. She is an endless fountain of resources, knowing great creative people who could do what we wanted, and where to get specialty items. She worked so well with our various vendors; not only to coordinate ideas about the vision of the day, but to work on the nuts and bolts details, like the right number of electrical outlets the band needed to set up. No detail is too big or too small for her to handle. Her organizational skills are superior; keeping us on top of things and when they needed to be done, and creating timelines leading up to the wedding day for us and for our vendors; all the things that made the day go as smoothly as it did. Elisabeth is truly a special person, and the management, creative ideas, enthusiasm and boundless energy she brings to an event are extraordinary. She is simply the best.
