About this vendor
Based out of Alexandria, VA, Smoking Kow BBQ delivers delicious All-American fare to weddings in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Owner Dylan Kough is a seasoned chef who has spent years tantalizing taste buds with his authentic barbecue cuisine. Known for their food truck service, Dylan and his team are committed to complementing your special day with a meal to remember.
Dylan began Smoking Kow BBQ as a mobile food truck business in 2015. Boasting a degree in Finance and Accounting and a Doctorate in Barbecue, he combined his skills to fulfill his ambition of becoming a professional caterer. As the company grew, his fleet of food trucks expanded, and he was eventually able to open a restaurant in Alexandria in 2018. Since then, countless couples have tucked into Dylan’s smoky culinary creations.
Smoking Kow BBQ’s repertoire features a range of classic dishes, such as pulled pork, chicken wings, and beef brisket. Dylan offers a selection of dining options, including buffets, family-style meals, and of course, his distinctive food truck option. You can work with the team to develop a personalized menu made up of your best-loved dishes. The business can cater for gatherings of up to 500 people, and a canopy can be provided for inclement weather.

ed a tear during the tasting and everyone during the wedding loved it. We even have friends that went back to the restaurant weeks after the wedding and even catered Smoking Kow for a work event. One of my groomsmen said it was the best wedding food he’s ever had. Dylan is very responsive and organized with all the wedding details. Dylan responded to all emails very quickly and was very patient with all of our questions. He kept track of all of the details of the wedding and executed them the way we wanted. We had sort of a chaotic vendor walkthrough at the venue and Dylan was very patient and provided honest feedback that helped us plan the details of the reception. His staff was great as well and the reception went perfectly. They were fast, clean, and organized. I would recommend Dylan and Smoking Kow to anyone who wants to do buffet style food at their wedding.

restaurant food. The catering food was even better and everyone kept thanking me (and my now husband, Ben) for not doing the usual chicken/steak/salmon! SO glad I went this route and recommend them to anyone. Dylan Kough (pronounced Kow) is the owner and was attentive and responsive throughout the whole process however he made it very easy so not much back and forth anyway!
