Our wedding at Snow Farm was nothing short of perfect. Nick and his team are absolutely stellar. We stayed at the Inn on site which made our weekend even more flawless. Our guests could not stop raving about how beautiful it all was. Nick made coordinating with all of our vendors so easy and was there to help us through the entire planning process. The setting is one of a kind - a picture perfect backdrop for the most special of days. A bonus that it’s a venue you can return to again and again to enjoy the tasting room or stay at the on-site B&B.
Our wedding at Snow Farm was an absolute dream! We were looking for a venue that captured Vermont's natural beauty, reflected our vision of an outdoorsy and down-to earth yet elegant wedding, and was fairly priced, and Snow Farm delivered. Being on the island of South Hero, Snow Farm has a destination feel- beautiful, idyllic, and peaceful- yet conveniently accessible from Burlington. Nick, the events coordinator, was fantastic to work with from start to finish. He was responsive, thorough and provided so much guidance while also being incredibly flexible and really supporting our vision. The permanent outdoor tent at Snow Farm with vineyard and lake views, plus beautiful grounds (multiple beautiful ceremony spots) made for a gorgeous and comfortable setting. We found the pricing to be very fair, and having the drink service and linen/tables arranged by the house eased our planning. Nick's extensive knowledge and support should be considered a huge benefit of their package as well. Our wedding was truly magical, and I would highly recommend Snow Farm to anyone hoping for a beautiful outdoor VT wedding!
I want to be as honest with this review as possible and so I can't give it a one star, even though I'd like to. The venue is very beautiful and if Nick (the bar manager) ever takes over the wedding business here- I would recommend everyone get married here.
We hired this venue because we got good first impressions from the owners (Dave and Juli). However right off the bat I got nervous when she never responded to my emails. When she responded to phone calls, I looked over this as her just being disorganized. Next big red flag: a month before our wedding I schedule a final walkthrough with Juli to go over all details. I drive 3 HOURS there for the meeting and she "forgot about it and went on a weekend trip to Boston instead". Biggest issue, however, was the day of our wedding: after the night was done the owners handed us the bill (without an itemized receipt) with numbers that did not seem to match our contract drink prices. On top of that, our contract had stated a built in tip and we were told there would be no tip jar on the bar so we planned for an additional cash tip for the bar on top of our venue contracted tip. There was in fact a tip jar on the bar that night (very full at the end of the night) and when we tried to hand them the tip money we had on top of that- they asked "Is that it?" We referred to the built in tip and they said they hadn't put that in the final charge. When we expressed hesitancy at having to figure out the numbers while very drunk and asked to talk about it first thing in the morning (with contract in hand), we were given a lot of attitude and they tried to bully us into paying on the spot. If this wasn't enough to sour the night of our wedding, we wake up the next morning and text our point of contact at the vineyard to settle the bill. For about an hour, we hear nothing back. During that period we communicate with our friend who was our dog sitter who was going back to the vineyard to pick up our dog's harness. We asked our dogsitter to also some decorations that had been left at the ceremony location accidentally. When she arrived at the vineyard we heard from her that Juli ended up literally screaming at her and accused us of skipping out on the bill when she tried to take the harness/decorations. Barely let her leave with just the harness (never got the decor back btw.) My husband called the vineyard directly (as we had not heard back through text) and talked with Dave about why our dogsitter had been attacked when we agreed to pay the next morning (and also she had nothing to do with anything and should've been respected as any other human being). Dave did not sincerely apologize and brushed off the attack saying that "Juli was just emotional". We went over the contract over the phone (now sober) and it turned they had indeed had wrong pricing for some of the drinks. (Thank goodness we hadn't actually paid drunk the night before)
Overall, zero professionalism and minimal organization...plus the attack on our friend sealed the deal. It was a great day but the night and the morning after our wedding was soured because of this. We will never be comfortable going back to the vineyard for our anniversaries, which is heart breaking. Would not recommend (UNLESS Nick Lane takes over the vineyard. He was the one person we worked with who was wonderful. He went above and beyond. We tipped very generously even after Dave and Juli's pettiness in hopes that Nick and the other employees get what they deserve.)
Snow Farm was a lovely venue for our post-Covid wedding celebration. Julie and her team were flexible, accommodating, and responsive. Our ceremony overlooked the lake near the Bed and Breakfast, and the reception took place next to the vines at the vineyard. The bar selection was great, the tent was set-up just how we asked, and the overall location was top-notch. Snow Farm exceeded our expectations for the intimate, relaxed, and lovely event we were hoping for.
My fiancé and I went to meet with them one day to discuss having them as a venue option. At first they were very professional. But once they asked about catering options we told them we were in the air about what we wanted for catering. We had one option as doing a pot luck kind of style but we had not made any final decisions yet for catering. The next day I received an email from them saying that they would not accept a pot luck style type of dinner as a formal meal plan for our wedding. I emailed them back saying that that was okay because we were still looking at some caterers to host the wedding. I also asked them if they had any suggestions for a caterer. And since that email they have completely blown me off. I haven't heard back from them since. Not even an email to say that they have even booked they date since we didn't put a deposit down to save the date for the venue or that they would not like to do be host the venue for our wedding. Nothing. If you have a caterer already or planning on booking one soon then they will work with you. But if you are in the beginning stages of planning the wedding like we were then they will not work with you. Mind you my fiancé and I are paying for everything ourselves and we have a limited budget because we have bills and a kid. We went with another venue for the wedding.
