Sara was great to work with!! I am typically a very organized/type A personality, but a few months before our wedding my husband and I both got new jobs and bought/started renovating our house so wedding planning got put on the back burner. I knew that I needed someone to help me take my ideas and put them into action. Sara kept me on track with planning and always thought of things that I would have never remembered on my own! Everything came together beautifully on the day of and it was so comforting to know that Sara was there and could be the ‘go to’ for any issues that might come up so that we didn’t have to stress! My only regret was not hiring Sara to do more through the wedding planning process! Thanks again Sara + So Chic Events!
Where do I even begin to start with Sara? I first heard of Sara & So Chic Events a few years ago when I saw somebody else had hired her for their wedding. I remembered how beautiful she made their wedding reception.. and it WAS a dream reception. My wedding was a COVID wedding that was to be in May at a reception venue, but got pushed back to October. When COVID restrictions did not lighten, and our venue cancelled all events in the middle of summer, we moved our wedding to a shed/barn on my husband’s family farm. I knew I would not be able to do/handle everything on my own; rentals, decorating, planning an entirely new wedding, etc. I needed somebody with a creative mindset and positivity (which she definitely delivered on)! At that point, I reached out to Sara and was VERY happy to hear that she was available. From the very first meeting with her to the day of the wedding, Sara was consistent, helpful, and working harder than ever to make sure the stress would be off of us and that she was taking care of every large and small detail. I truly felt at ease and that we were in good hands when I left my first meeting with her. It is very hard having to postpone your wedding due to something that is out of your control, but we knew we had made the right decision in hiring her and that she would completely exceed our expectations. I wish we would have had even more time together, and that I would have hired her from the beginning, but I know I will always remember her as the person who went above and beyond for me/us, and made our day more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. I truly have never seen anything like what she put together for us, it was the prettiest wedding I had ever been to and it was mine!! I highly recommend Sara if you want a stress free, happy, beautiful wedding day. Best decision I ever made was reaching out to Sara. She (with the help of the amazing vendors she works with) turned our shed into a beautiful reception venue. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU Sara for everything you did! You deserve all the great things life has to offer and more.
I cannot even begin to thank Elizabeth for everything!!!! We had Elizabeth with So Chic and she did an absolutely amazing job!! I cannot even begin to thank her for everything!! We had a few bumps that day but Elizabeth handled everything and made sure both my husband and I had the best day ever!! She truly made the weekend less stressful for both ourselves and our families and having her was by far one of the best things we could of done for our wedding!! It was beautiful!!!!
I cannot put into words how wonderful Sara is. Being an out-of-town bride for nearly a year prior to our big day, Sara was a literal life-saver. She made sure every detail was managed from afar, and it did not seem to even phase her that I (nor my mother) wasn't in town. From hotel blocks, to food, to reception snacks, to decor, to vendor choreography, to seating charts, to every last detail - you can count on the So Chic team. You need a vegan wedding pie? Sara's on it. You need the biggest candy and popcorn spread you've even seen? Sara's on it. Nothing ever phases her. Sara and her team made magic happen, and I had the wedding of my dreams. Worth. Every. Penny. Because of So Chic I got to truly enjoy being a bride and live in the moment. Cody and I can't thank you enough! We love you! Sorry this is so late!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sara and So Chic! I had next to no time to plan my wedding between working 2 jobs and finishing up school. Sara took all of the work off my hands and made the process nearly seamless. From day one, she listened to the budget and my vision and made my dream wedding come true! Mindy was the coordinator of the day and literally took care of every detail - set up and tear down, getting all of our gifts where they needed to go, making sure all of our bridal party had everything they needed throughout the day. I could not have imagined it any better and would not recommend anyone other than Sara and her team to plan your special day! Thank you So Chic!!
we booked with sara to coordinate our wedding day and we'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. she was AMAZING!! she responds to emails all hours of the day, texts you to see how you're doing and literally thinks of every little detail leading up to your wedding day. we were hardly stressed about the wedding and we owe it all to sara! 100% would recommend booking one of the fabulous ladies at so chic!!
Sara and her team at So Chic made our entire wedding planning experience stress free!! My husband and I moved to Alabama in the middle of our wedding planning process, and Sara went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of while we were away. We feel like planning another wedding just to work with her again! Thank you, Sara & So Chic!
We hired So Chic Events to do the day-of coordination for our wedding, and we could not be happier! I was a little hesitant about hiring a coordinator, because I thought my mom and I could handle it, but when I found out we had to have all our décor out of our venue the same evening, I realized I would rather have my mom spending time with me that day instead of working like a crazy person, so I met with Sara to discuss our options. We ended up choosing a day-of coordinator, which means we did all the planning, but our coordinator would execute the day so that my people could be with me instead of doing set-up and teardown. It was hands down the best decision we made! We worked with Keri as our coordinator, who is absolutely incredible—she is so sweet and so experienced! We met a few times in the months leading up to the wedding, and she was always organized and up to date on what I had changed (I had added her to our wedding Google Drive folder & she always knew when I updated something, even before we would meet!) She had great ideas and suggestions for how to make things flow and how to make sure even the tiniest of details were taken care of—she even ended up covering small organizational jobs I had assigned to other people for the wedding day, because she is absolutely magic! She had talked to all our vendors beforehand, knew our ushers and bridal party by name, and had even come early the day before our wedding to start setting up, just because she could! She was both professional and warm, and she was able to go with the flow and keep everything flowing smoothly, even when we had a small technical difficulty from another vendor. If anything went wrong on our wedding day, I don’t even know about it—and that’s the dream!! I cannot recommend So Chic & their coordination services highly enough; they are great people, and they do an amazing job!!
Sara O'Shea was our wedding coordinator for our beautiful wedding in September 2016, and by coordinator, I actually mean that she was an organized, generous, multi-tasking, dedicated, and thoughtful wedding advisor. My husband and I had started some of the planning, but knew with our busy schedules, combined with our inexperience (and some indecisiveness) we would not be able to keep up with planning the wedding ourselves.
During our very first meeting with Sara, 9 months before our big day, we hadn't even technically hired her or paid her yet and she took the initiative to address some key details we needed accomplished.....SOLD!! In addition to that, during that first meeting, Sara was able to sense our style and suggested a beautiful venue for us to utilize for our reception and my husband and I are so grateful to her for introducing it to us. She made a quick phone call and we were able to see the venue and meet with their representative on that same day!
There is absolutely NO DOUBT that this woman knows the business in and out and accordingly the rest of the business knows her! Almost every vendor we met with already knew of Sara and informed us that she would do a great job.
She and her colleagues at So Chic made all of the final details come to life, including but not limited to our programs, reception signage, decorative items, etc. As for the day of, she transported all the of the important items to and from the reception that you don't want to burden your family members or friends with. We used my parents' champagne flutes and she took care of keeping these important items safe and sound. She truly thinks of everything!
We are so incredibly grateful to have worked with Sara! She has a tough job, but she does it with ease. She made our wedding come together so gracefully so we could just enjoy the ride and for that, we are and will be forever grateful!

I worked with Sara for about a year and a half planning my Sunday morning wedding while working full time and working on my masters. I LOVED her! She made everything go so seamlessly the day of and I knew I could go to her throughout the whole process with any questions I had. She took all the stress of planning a wedding away. She was so helpful and kind! A true professional and well worth the money! I would recommend her to anyone out there planning a wedding!
Sara was my wedding planner and I wouldn't have survived my wedding day without her. This is truly her calling and the women she has hired to her team are equally as talented!

Sara was so amazing to work with! We came in with a few different visions for the overall look and feel for the wedding and Sara helped us narrow it down to create the perfect day for us! She helped by giving us options for various vendors all within our price range. She was very responsive and was great with incorporating all of my ideas that I came up with and helped make sure every single one of them was included in our wedding day. We really wanted an outdoor ceremony and it rained on our wedding day but Sara made sure that we had our outdoor ceremony - it turned out to be perfect regardless of the rain! :) She is such a happy and joyful person she made the wedding process so enjoyable and seamless for us. I would highly recommend her to anyone planning a wedding. She helped take the weight off of me and my family especially the few weeks leading up to the wedding and especially on the wedding day. She is so amazing at what she does and I definitely think you should book her if you're looking for a wedding planner!
I hired Katie to help with day of coordination for my son's wedding. She did a great job. She went above and beyond the call of duty running errands and making sure that everything was perfect. I would highly recommend So Chic and Katie to anyone planning an event or wedding.
I first new I wanted to hire Sara less than 30 seconds after meeting with her for the first time. I had our son (who was less than a year old at the time) with me and he needed a place to sit, I was going to just have him sit on my lap and deal with papers being flung everywhere but Sara went into her closet and brought out a highchair!! I was in heaven right then and there and was 100% sure that having her plan our wedding would be the smartest decision we would make. She made planning our wedding fun and enjoyable and not stressful at all. She helped narrow down choices for us based on what I told her I had envisioned our wedding day to look like from our first meeting together with her. Everything went so smoothly I feel like I could get married again and again as long as I had Sara there to plan it! She is extremely talented and very friendly. She thinks of ideas that I never would have thought of and comes up with ways to make your wedding personalized to you. So very happy we had the privilege to work with her.
I could not have survived planning my wedding without So Chic! It was so nice to know someone else was helping me stay on top of planning to get everything done for the big day. They have great relationships with all of the best local vendors so I felt like I was getting the best of the best... And at discount because I was working with So Chic! My planner was very professional and made sure to listen to my input, concerns, and questions to help make it the perfect day. Come the wedding day, it was a huge relief to know So Chic was there setting everything up, making sure everything was coordinated and on schedule, and would be there to handle anything that could go wrong. I don't know how a bride could survive without So Chic!
So Chic was awesome!! From the moment we met Sara, we knew she and her event planning services were a great match for my daughters wedding. She answered every text message, email, and phone call right away and we loved her contacts and the services they provided for the wedding. Awesome pastor, rentals, flower design, reception design...her own creativity was very evident and she was so supportive of my daughter and her own ideas/thoughts. Wedding Day dawned and she was there every step of that day...she explained any challenges and had solutions. She took all of the worry away and became our friend..now that the wedding is over, we already miss her. I would highly recommend Sara, her services, and her business to anyone wanting a "so chic" event. You won't be disappointed!!
Our wedding was exactly what we wanted it to be thanks to So Chic Events! The attention to detail was fantastic. Sara loves what she does and it shows in her final product! I felt like she took the time to discuss our ideas and didn't try to force us into a cookie cutter style. Katie at So Chic Events was my wedding coordinator and she was fabulous! She helped keep me on track, worked with vendors, suggested ideas for things I was unsure of and overall kept me sane! Whenever I needed something I could call, email or text her and she would be there. Even when I just needed to be reassured that it was all under control! The day of the wedding I was 100% confident leaving it all in Katie's capable hands....I was able to just enjoy and relish in my big day! Sara O'Shea with So Chic Events was our wedding coordinator for our Bloomington, IL wedding on 10/20/12. Together with Sara we chose a package that was just perfect for us. I wanted to plan the majority of the wedding and choose the majority of vendors. Sara and I had a handful of meetings leading up to our wedding and she was there all day on our big day! It was so helpful along the way to have Sara give her input and experience and to have her as an unbiased advice giver!! She was never pushy and never stepped on anyone's toes. It was OUR day and she just helped make it perfect!! She was especially helpful in the month or so leading up to the wedding. She contacted vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page and helped me pull together the wedding day timeline flawlessly. On the day of our wedding, all we basically had to do was show up and enjoy! Sara and her assistant Katie did the rest. The venue turned out better than I had ever imagined. None of our family or friends had to run around setting anything up or coordinating the day. Sara took care of every detail. It was priceless to be able to just enjoy the whole day knowing I didn't have to worry about a thing, and knowing all the details were in Sara's hands! Sara coordinated the rehearsal and the ceremony and checked in with me during the whole reception to make sure all was going well. Not only is Sara an exceptional planner and so talented in what she does, she is fun to be around, funny, friendly, professional, easy to get in touch with (text, email, phone at all hours of the day or night) and just a wonderful person. I can only say good things about So Chic Events and Sara O'Shea. A wedding coordinating package is the best investment in a wedding budget!!

Sara and So-Chic did a fabulous job on our daughter's wedding. She is well organized, thoughtful, and creative. She has access to and works well with an excellent group of vendors. We very highly recommend Sara and her staff at So-Chic. Ya' can't go wrong with them. They will make your wedding a wonderful experience.
Sara help create the majority of our wedding. She understood exactly what I wanted and it even seemed like she understood my vision better than I did! She was there for every step of the process and I couldn't have been more thrilled with our wedding! People keep asking me what hiccups we encountered, but I am honestly able to say that our day was completely flawless!
Sara planned every detail of our big day! I totally trusted her with literally EVERYTHING about our wedding. She created a wedding for me that was so much more than I could have ever imagined! She really got me as a bride, she instantly knew my style, and she put hours of countless work planning and making everything perfect! When I first spoke to Sara at So Chic about working with her for our wedding, she said with the package we were looking at (So Simple), 2 weeks out she would take over and I would go from wedding planner to bride. We planned almost all of our wedding on our own and when it came to be 2 weeks out I had no problem letting it go with Sara on our team!
Sara and her Associate Planner, Katie, made sure everything was to perfection. On my end, the day seemed effortless and they were always there if I needed anything. Everything went off without a problem (minus the 25 minutes it took my bridesmaids to do my crazy bustle!) and we couldn't stop smiling with how amazing everything was!
I would highly recommend the So Chic team to every bride. Your wedding day will inevitably fly by-having a wedding planner/coordinator will help you to just be a bride on your special day so you can focus on what really matters. So Chic allowed me to do just that and my husband and I can truly say that our day was everything we hoped it would be!
I don't know how my day would have happened without the guidance, coordination & hard work from Elizabeth with So-Chic Events! Her addition was absolutely priceless to our day! I know that wedding planners can be a luxury item, but believe me when I say you should try to cut back elsewhere in your budget in order to have this group as your wedding planners!! They are wonderful to work with, and they make sure that you have very little to even think about on your big day! I can't stress how amazing it was having Elizabeth as my wedding planner, and I would DEFINITELY recommend contacting this group!
