Our daughter held her wedding and reception here on 9-28-24. The venue has undergone some recent improvements which helped make her wedding a perfect day. The family who owns the venue was attentive and on site during both the reception and wedding. They were easy to work with and we had no issues at all during The Weekend. I definitely recommend giving them a shot at hosting your event.
I am sooo glad I booked this venue for my wedding. This family is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! My wedding was PERFECT because of them! They go above and beyond. The venue is beautiful.
We are writing this as a couple who recently had their wedding here -
Please do not make the mistake we did! We would hate to see anyone else's day ruined like ours was.
First, as the bride do not even bother! This chapter in your life is stressful enough, and having a venue that does NOT answer your emails, leaves you on read, and gives you false hope is not what you need. There were so many lies, miscommunication, and broken promises/contractual items. There is no shower, there is no bathroom as promised, no running water, and no electricity. The joke of an outhouse that they provide for not only the entire wedding party, but all your guests is ridiculous! We girls had to get ready off of ONE outlet, with one generator that kept dying out, causing us to then have to reheat the curling iron. As you can imagine, this set back the entire day's timeline. It was a wreck and added so much stress that was not needed on such a special day. Due to no lighting and no AC, we did not get the "getting ready" photos we wanted. All of us were so hot, and with one of the bridesmaids pregnant and one with neurological issues, the heat caused major health concerns.
Weeks before my wedding a bride messages me who had her wedding there before mine. She told me her horror story and warned me of many things. She said she feels it is her duty to help a bride out, and I am passing all this along to all the future brides out there.
As for the groom - men do not take that long getting ready, but because of the no running water situation, a lot of the groomsmen, and myself as the groom, had to travel to shower, which caused issues with timing and the photographer's schedule. There was no place to charge phones, because of the lack of electricity, and there was an issue with flickering lights due to cheap generators. This place needs to shut down! Do not get your hopes up, the website is a lie and the pictures show you as the bride and groom what you want to see. I feel horrible for everyone involved, including the caterer who was frustrated with the lack of power and running water. He did his best, and the food was still amazing, but he expressed his frustration as well. that due to the venue's lack of service, he was unable to give us what he promised.
In all, our day was wonderful - but do not sign or even bother with this venue! It is unnecessary stress, stringing people along, and broken promises that do not need to be added to a monumental time in a couple's life.
This was a terrible place. I am generous to give it one star. Everything we looked at when we booked it was not provided. Things we were promised during the walk-through the week before that "were new problems" were not provided, or new problems. The Regional Building Department has a list of failed inspections on their website about this venue, some as recent as September of 2023. There was no running water, very limited electricity (run off their small generators), and no adequate restrooms (for the number of guests, or wheelchair accessible). Communication with anyone at the venue was non-existent. The bride's family was pulling weeds on the paths and ceremony sight the day before the wedding.
We thought we did our homework, and we trusted the owners. That was a big mistake. Please don't make the same mistake we did. Find someplace else and don't fall for what we did.
I am writing to warn you about my recent experience at this venue. Unfortunately, it was the most disappointing weekend for our bride and left her in tears. Items that were promised on their website and from the venue owners were not provided for us.
To start, there was only one portapotty as the bathrooms were not functional, and there was no running water or enough electricity to use the facilities. The bridesmaids were limited to what a small generator could provide for the cabin, requiring them to choose to use the lights OR run the AC OR use one outlet, but not more than one. The vanity lights shown on the website are not functional as they promised. As a result, some of the wedding party had to drive 30 - 45 minutes away to get ready and our "getting ready" photos had to be taken in the dark.
The refrigerator shut down in the middle of the night, requiring us to retrieve them at 1:00 am the night before the event. When we returned with our items, the bride was scolded for "wasting their generator fuel." The refrigerator is located in the bar area that is shown on the website. This is a place to serve food and drink, but the sink shown on the website is not functional and drinks had to be disposed of in a trashcan and mop bucket because the sink is not plumbed in, just there for show.
The wedding party cabins lacked any kind of security. Over $1000 worth of items were stolen, and multiple wallets were rifled through. In addition, our wedding party had credit cards hacked because the venue allows anyone at the venue access to the cabins, and there was no security monitoring.
While the location is beautiful, the website is filled with false advertising. Promises were made, but they were not kept. Please don't let your special day be ruined like ours was. We will never get to relive this day, and it will always be associated with horrible memories because of this venue.
We had our dream wedding here at Soda Creek Ranch and it was beautiful! The family was nice and helpful the whole time! There were a few hiccups with the bathrooms and electricity but they were still able to accommodate us and be transparent and still make the night run smoothly! The ceremony site was perfect and the barn is beautifully built! The landscaping matched our desert western theme too! Make sure to get sunset pictures here! Thank you Amber, David, and Casey for the wonderful experience ! ❤️
We paid in full for this Venue, booked them in March of 2022. and 20 days before our wedding we were informed that the amenities that were on the contract and promised to us were not available. Pueblo Regional Building has taken their electric meter, they do not have running water, the pond/fountain does not work, they do not have working bathrooms. The building is not up to code and the owners are not complying with what is needing to be done to fix the issues. We had to scramble at last minute to find another venue, and I am having to send out updates on the location to our guests (17 days before our wedding) We were told on April 17,2023 that the issues would be completed by the first week of May and they were not. Amber continuously strung us along, and NEVER informed us there were issues with the Venue. We were informed by word of mouth from a friend. Call Pueblo Regional Building first if you are even contemplating going with this Venue. Don’t waste your time or money.
My fiancé and I live out of state but our family still resides in CO. We had family look at the venue for us in early 2022 and book immediately as it was perfect for our needs, within our budget, had several amenities, and all around looked too good to be true. In early fall we set up an appointment to see the venue in person for the first time while home visiting. When we arrived, everything was torn apart and the owners told us they had heard 2 weeks prior that they had a small licensing problem that they needed to get resolved and that everything should be okay by our date (a month away). We agreed to give them a little over a week for an update before we started looking for another venue, when we heard from Amber we had a feeling that something was off so we started digging.
Not only has this venue been in violation since November of 2021 (before we booked), but has been cited on several occasions and NONE of that was ever communicated with us. This venue was also cited for more violations June 2022, again never communicated, we set up an appointment to see the venue in September.
We were told by Amber that all the paperwork had been filed and they were just waiting for it to be reviewed. When we started calling around, we discovered that the paperwork had not even been filed and there was no chance of any event being able to take place at that location until mid-March 2023 minimum if they were to file the proper applications that day.
Regardless of everything, this all should have been communicated to us prior to arriving a month before our event date. Left scrambling at the last moment, we were lucky to find somewhere that could accommodate us. There is an event booked just days after ours and I truly believe that those people have not been notified of the circumstances.
A local baker has also informed us of cancellations in cakes meant for that venue due to the same situation but the couple didn’t find out until DAYS before.
Don’t waste your time. While the venue is beautiful and they didn’t cut corners building it (or it would appear so), they definitely cut them everywhere else and I wouldn’t recommend working with this family. Everything that was communicated to us after discovering everything torn up was a lie.
They did refund our total amount, however the additional costs of finding a venue last minute, reprinting invitations, new decorations, etc. was not covered and was entirely out of pocket after setting a strict budget for our event. Not sure if they would have had we not done our homework and showed proof that we were aware of exactly what is going on.
My husband and I loved this venue. It was absolutely gorgeous.
The venue was awesome because it looks like a getaway or destination wedding but it’s only about twenty minutes out from Pueblo, CO!
They catered the wedding as well which was so wonderful!
Since it is not a big resort everything is far more personalized and easy to get done. Weddings can be stressful but the right vendor can make a huge difference! It’s really an all in one package!
