My hair also instantly fell out in the humidity, which I know is difficult to control, but it should have lasted more than 15 minutes in midwest weather considering the artisits should be used to this challenge. I also had to correct the make-up artist's work during my trial, as she set my lashes crookedly. When I pointed it out to her after several photos were taken (so the trial had clearly ended), she admitted her error and fixed them. Should the customer notice a lash isn't leveled if this were the wedding day? I thought that is what their professional eye would be able to catch since the bride will have enough to think about. I am also giving a one-star review because of their customer service. They only gave me and my bridal party a day or so to decide on what packages we all wanted after the trial. My maid of honor went into labor the same day of my trial; I also explained that two Registered Nurses are in my party, and since they are not typically near their phones during their shifts, they were not able to meet the 24 hour deadline either. I told my stylist all of this and requested an extension - just for another day or a few days - and was denied. I lost the $250 deposit because of their total lack of empathy and understanding. I get that this is a policy they find important, but especially in a pandemic, you think they would give some leeway to nurses and women giving birth. What was also ironic was that they promised to send over the contract cancellation paperwork within 24 hours. When I followed up several days later asking where the paperwork was, they said they needed an extension because the owner was "on vacation". I followed up again - an entire week later - and they FINALLY delivered the paperwork so I could book a new vendor. It's just funny they wouldn't not give me and my bridal party an extension for extreme circumstances, but they needed an extension just because they hadn't planned accordingly for this vacation. I figured they might have a contingency plan, since the 24 hour timelines seem so important to them! I guess they expect that from their busy brides, but not from themselves.

Their work is truly unmatched. My makeup stayed on the whole night. Booking Something Blue Stylists was the best decision I could have ever made.

020 wedding. Andi immediately mailed a thoughtful welcome note with all sorts of helpful information to guide my prep process. Like so many couples, we were unfortunately impacted by COVID. When it became clear we weren't going to be able to keep our original plans, I reached out to Andi to see if there was any possibility of doing my hair and makeup only (and not the previously planned bridal party) as we were hoping to still get married on our original date with just our parents. She immediately responded and said she would do whatever needed to make it work - including her doing it personally (she had previously booked me with another super talented and sweet member of her team). Circumstances didn't allow that to happen either, and once again I reached out to Andi to figure out May/June 2020 availability and I was once again treated to Andi's great compassion and grace - even during a time that was undoubtedly difficult for her and her business too! Ultimately we put our wedding plans on indefinite hold until April 2021, when we realized that our immediate family and bridal party would all be vaccinated by mid-May and a small wedding could safely happen. Because Andi and her team are so talented and in such demand, we weren't able to align our two schedules for our new date. I was so bummed, but totally understood given we were only six weeks out. I have been so blown away with Andi's professionalism, her immediate responses to emails no matter the day or time (I'm not sure she sleeps!) and her incredible care for making sure her brides have the easiest planning process possible. All of this has been stressful but my interactions with Andi always put me at ease. Future brides, book Andi and her team ASAP. I promise you won't regret it.

I definitely tried to have some inspiration photos ready for the trial, and Brittney NAILED it. It looked absolutely amazing, and was everything I could've hoped for. When my venue informed me three days prior that I had to change my prep location, Brittney responded to my email in minutes with confirmation that it was no issue, which definitely helped ease some of my worry with the last minute change. doubt. When my hairstyle didn’t turn out the way I pictured, she shrugged it off, quickly revised it, and created an updo that I absolutely loved! When on of my bridesmaids panicked about looking washed out during our pajama photos, she ran over with lipstick. She helped me apply body tape, showed my bridesmaids how to put in and take out my veil, and helped button up my dress. All tasks she was not even remotely required or expected to take on, but did with a smile. Her makeup left our skin glowing and beautiful ALL night long and our hair never faltered. hen I met with her for my hair and makeup trial, I was a bit leary. I don't wear a lot of makeup, and I'm convinced my curly hair will never look beautiful because it has a tendency to frizz so badly. Plus, I'd paid people to do my hair and makeup before, and it was a disaster. But, I made a pinterest board of hairstyles and makeup looks that I liked and presented it to her at the beginning, and again, I was nervous. Had I picked things that just weren't possible with my hair and face? Did I pick super unflattering things? Was she going to do whatever she wanted and then at the end tell me what I had asked for wasn't possible, so she just did something else? Was whatever she was going to do look nothing like the pictures I showed her? N O P E - she's amazing and nailed everything I had envisioned! Seriously - she got it all right in the first go! And then at the end, she re-did the hairstyle so my fiance wouldn't know what it was really going to look like day of! Now, that's all about the pre-wedding day stuff, and we all know that the actual wedding day is what REALLY matters. And Andi was perfect again! She showed up on time (which was 6:30 am, people! Her and her team were all at my house and ready to go at 6:30 AM!) They got set up quickly (with all of their supplies - lights, literal trunks of products and tools, etc.) I had 7 bridesmaids and 2 moms that needed hair and makeup down, and very, very few of them came with pictures of what they wanted - they basically gave a general idea to the stylists "I'd like a braid" or "I want it to be up" or something, and the stylists made it work! The girls even got little mini-refills of their lip colors, which was great for the long day ahead of us. Everyone loved their and makeup -- two highlights from their reviews are: * Everyone was amazed that they all looked very natural - you couldn't tell that the others were wearing makeup necessarily, but everyone just looked like enhanced versions of themselves * my mom actually said that she's never felt so pretty in her life. Andi kept everything exactly on schedule, too - in and out on time, with everyone done! The whole experience was amazing - if you're looking for a RELIABLE, PROFESSIONAL and TALENTED team for your big day, this is the vendor for you!

My only advice would be to go into the day knowing the exact lip stick and color you would like to use because it is nice to not have to think of that the day of and then re-applying is much easier throughout the evening. My hair and makeup looked flawless from 10:00 am on my wedding day, to well after 3:00 am the next morning (yep, it was that kind of night). My bridesmaids looked incredible all day too. A few of them even slept in their makeup and were still killin' it at brunch the next morning, hangovers and all. She was always so nice and helpful and really wanted me to feel like the best version of myself! I have a few freckles and she double checked if I cover them or not, so that I would feel like myself on my wedding day. This was super important to me because most places where I’ve had my makeup done will cover up all of my freckles without asking, so I never feel quite like myself when I get my makeup done, so I appreciate that Andi made sure that my freckles and facial features were exactly like I wanted them! I also had a hormonal breakout on my wedding day and she had a mask for me that cleared it up and took away the redness, you couldn’t tell at all! My makeup stayed on perfectly the entire night and my hair looked flawless, even though it was incredibly hot at our venue the entire evening. I felt absolutely stunning the entire day! I cannot rave enough about Something Blue Stylists!
