We decided to use the Ramada because they were giving us the cheapest rate on rooms. They also had a large indoor pool and complementary breakfast for those in our room block. I had several guests complain about the front desk service and mistakes that were made with their rooms. We had been corresponding online with Madeline Peters, who didn't communicate with us very well like she stated she would. A month before the wedding, I physically went in and spoke with a manager, Kristin Ingersol, to make sure rooms were all taken care of. We had to make a few changes because check in/check out dates were messed up, but everything seemed to go well after that. Kristin was so helpful and overall my guests seemed to enjoy their rooms and the location of the Ramada.
I got married on September 15th 2012 and I swear there were 6 other weddings that day. Trying to get a room block for my out of town guests was horrible. Some places didn't even call me back when I inquired about a room block, but the Ramada did. They set everything up for me, gave a a great price, and everyone got their rooms. They were able to enjoy the indoor water park, walk to the mall, or enjoy Old Chicago which is connected to the hotel. In the midst of planning everything, I forgot to book a room for my husband and I. The sales manager called me and asked if we needed one and upgraded us to a suite and still gave us the discounted rate although it was well beyond the cutoff. Very glad I chose them.
We held our reception at Ramada Plaza this past April and we loved it. We did have a little bit of a hiccup before the reception started with them having flat pop and tapping the wrong keg, but it was fixed by the time our reception started(I didn't know anything about it until the next day). The food was excellent, I never have had wedding food that good! We had the London Broil and the Wedding Chicken. The staff was nothing but helpful with everything. Parking wasn't an issue that day. It was a great venue to have it at. They include a hotel stay with the booking of the room (which our room was huge).
Everything was included the caterer table settings linens decorations for tables.;Parking wasn't very good by time we arrived all of the spots were taken so I was dropped off at the door and my groom had to park the car at the next business over.
