We chose SophistiCakes because of both recommendations from friends, and also our instincts when we spoke to them. They were easy to deal with and very prompt with getting back to us. We got samples and knew right away we wanted the chocolate chip pound cake with buttercream icing. It was awesome!! They delivered our cake to our venue and we loved the work they did. Exactly what we wanted and everyone raved about it. I highly recommend using them.

We loved how our wedding cake turned out! They were great to work with. The shop is nice and we had a fun time at our tasting. Our cake was tiered so we were able to have different cake & icing combos for each layer which made deciding which flavor to go with easy.

Just do not have enough good things to say about this. Super chill meeting. I went in with basically no idea what I wanted and they helped me through the whole process and were very patient with me. Ultimately decided to get a kind of intricate design and they sent me multiple mock-ups, I gave them some revisions, and the cake they ended up delivering was beyond my wildest imaginations. It was truly the hit of the event. Didn't hurt that it was delicious and I could bathe in the buttercream. Also had to supplement with a bunch of cupcakes because they had too many incredible flavors we couldn't choose. (Went with chocolate chip pound cake, strawberry shortcake, lemon, and salted caramel chocolate cupcakes -- highly recommend all). Considering getting a divorce and remarrying my husband just to do it again!

We planned our wedding from Texas with some help from my husbands family in PA - SophistiCakes was able to talk with us over the phone and review two pictures we sent them of ideas we liked, and completely deliver the perfect wedding cake - especially challenging since I'm gluten intolerant and required a gluten free cake. It was so delicious that even with three other desserts from our caterer the cake was completely devoured.

We chose SophistiCakes for our wedding this past November, and they were one of the best vendors we worked with! We originally met Kathy in-person after making a tasting appointment at the bakery. During this meeting, we got to taste a number of their "standard" cake and icing flavors, and provided with some basic information about size, design and pricing. We really appreciated the ability to try the samples and discuss the options in private (at a table in the corner of the bakery), before Kathy came back to discuss with us. Even though we had done a few other cake tastings the previous week/earlier in the day, we knew right then and there that we wanted to work with SophistiCakes. Kathy was an excellent help in answering our questions and advising how our design goals could be met. On the day of our wedding, the cake was so absolutely stunning (and was EXACTLY as we pictured it!). They also did an excellent job working with our florist, as we also wanted flowers on our cake. We ended up doing 4 tiers for 130 guests - we chose 2 vanilla, 1 chocolate and 1 pumpkin layers, with vanilla and chocolate buttercream icings. Though we couldn't try the pumpkin at our tasting, we actually went back to the bakery and picked up a few of the fall seasonal cupcakes (and turned it into a date night) - highly recommend doing this, if you want to do something seasonal. We also chose to add on an additional 10" cake, as we wanted to surprise a bridesmaid with a birthday cake (our wedding day was her birthday). I say this with all honesty - at least 15 people came up to us on the night of, and wanted to know where the cakes were from, because it was the best cake they've ever had at an event! Working with Sophisticakes was one of the best vendor decisions we made in this process, and we highly recommend them!

Sophisti Cakes exceeded our expectations for our Wedding! Our cake turned out BEAUTIFUL and we got so many wonderful compliments about how much everyone enjoyed it. Not only did we use them for our Wedding day, we used them for the bridal shower and rehearsal dinner! On top of how great everything turned out, their employees and the owner, Kathy, were very friendly and professional. The cake and cupcakes we had we're so delicious and also looked amazing! Eveyone our guest raved about the cupcakes for weeks! The company was also so easy to work with and everyone was so nice everytime we went!

These girls crafted the perfect cake for our wedding in October. It was both beautiful and delicious. We met with Kathy for a consultation, and explained to her what we were looking for. Our wedding was Halloween-themed so we wanted a pseudo-Gothic cake. We gave her a couple pictures for ideas, and our cake topper (which was Addams Family themed) to give an idea of the theme. After the tasting that day, we knew that this was where we’d get the cake from. We ended up using a couple different flavors: red velvet and chocolate chip. From the beginning Kathy was so friendly and helpful, and she was super accommodating. She told us that she was sure the girls who’d be decorating it would have a blast with our theme, and as we found out later, they really did have fun with it. The end result fit our theme beautifully and left everyone talking about how good it was, and asking if there were any leftovers! It turned out delicious, and everybody raved. Of course, we only had a bite of it the night of the wedding, but we were able to thoroughly enjoy it later. But Kathy and the girls were very patient as we handled that situation, and very kind in helping us sort it out. This was one of the pricier bakeries in the area, admittedly, but it ended up being so worth it. I can’t imagine our cake turning out as great as it did from anywhere else. We will be recommending Sophisticakes to anyone who needs a cake for any occasion in the future. They really do incredible work, and they really do work to give you exactly what you want.

Sophisti Cakes goes above and beyond simply a bakery; wedding cake tasting was truly an experience and Kathy’s professionalism sold us on the spot (as did her cake!). My husband and I were very disappointed with the bakery our venue suggested and decided to give Sophisti Cakes a try based off a magazine review, even though it meant travelling to another state. Kathy and her team were incredibly accommodating; they set us up with an almost immediate appointment when they knew we were coming from out of state and agreed to work with us and even delivered our cake to our venue, even though we were only weeks out from our wedding. The cake was beautiful in its simplicity (which is exactly what we wanted) and Kathy and her team were incredibly sensitive and professional regarding our nut allergy concerns. We felt incredibly confident leaving things in their capable hands and were not disappointed. And for the record, our wedding guests are STILL talking about that cake and have described it as “the best wedding cake they’ve ever tasted”!

We chose Sophisticakes for our wedding on 10/13 because they were highly recommended from people we knew. My husband and I typically aren’t cake people but everything we tried at our tasting was incredible. They were extremely easy to work with. Our cake was beautiful and delicious! I highly recommend the red velvet with cream cheese icing.

I cant say enough wonderful things about this bakery. We always order cakes from here for every occasion. My daughter got married 3 weeks ago. The venue offered us a cake as part of the wedding package. We turned that down and went straight to Sophisticakes. We knew we were going to have to pay for the cake because we didnt take the cake in the wedding package, But we knew it would be worth it. Kathy sat with us and took so much time offering us different flavor choices and design suggestions. It was wonderful. The cake was perfect...everyone was taking pictures of the cake because it was so beautiful. and it tasted great. not one slice was left. Thank you Sophisticakes for making my daughters wedding day so wonderful.

Where do I start? So I’ve been ordering from this bakery for years, literally years. Birthdays, farewells, special occasions, you name it. I’ve told everyone I know about how wonderful the cake is and how much I look for any excuse to order their cakes. I’ve even ordered cakes for family and work occasions over the years. Well, all that has changed in just an instance and it is indeed a shame that the owner, not employees (who were reasonable by the way) threatened to call the police on me because I told her that they messed up on cake my order in more ways than 1 and that the $50 they were offering was not sufficient. After all, we spent $228.99 on the cake and didn’t mind doing so because I trusted the quality of their product. So, my husband ordered a cake for my birthday/gender reveal party and it was a royal disaster to say the least. They got the colors completely wrong, didn’t color the inside like they were supposed to, and to top it off, the fondant fell and broke. The owner took absolutely no responsibility for their mistake, blamed the mistake on my husband’s “accent” when I tried to be reasonable by offering that they may have misheard him due to his accent. To top it off, she ultimately said we were lying and threatened to call the cops if I came to establishment, after I said I would come in with my husband to further discuss the issue because we had not resolved it. This is after I told her that I have no reason to lie and sent pictures as proof and told her that I am a loyal customer and have been for years. It’s such a shame because their cake is delicious but if you’re going to mess up my order, remain unapologetic, and be borderline racist then we’re going to have a problem because that is not acceptable. I am a professional and in return, I expect professional service. It’s okay to make mistakes but simply admit to it. It’s a shame the employees were reasonable and the owner is a complete asshole. My advice, find a bakery that has good customer service because the owner of Sophisticakes is simply ignorant. They just lost one great customer and any referrals that I brought to the establishment is walking out the door with me. There’s nothing more that I despise that terrible customer service and that’s the last impression that I was left with. What ever happened to meeting your customers needs? Smh.

Everything about SophistiCakes was great! The custom cake that we had done and the meeting to discuss it in the beginning. Professional and make it enjoyable to create and design your perfect cake!

We used Sophisti Cakes for our wedding day and we couldn't have been happier. From the tasting to the wedding day they were so accommodating and helpful. They got back to us right away if we had any questions and were so kind. I showed them pictures of what we wanted and they nailed it! We went with a pink ombre cake on the inside, with raspberry filling and it was absolutely delicious! The cake was beautiful on the outside as well, simple and elegant with ombre rhinestones around each base of the tiers and flowers cascading down the side. We had rave reviews all night with people going back for second and third pieces! I couldn't have pictured it any better. We cannot wait to eat it on our anniversary! We will definitely be using them for any future events we have!

Kathy was a gem to work with ande the staff was the best. They were very tentative and in tune with the specifications of the wedding cake detail. The delivery and set up was on point. The quality of the product was the talk of the wedding and it was a pleasure to tell everyone where we purchased the wedding cake. I don't think I could say enough about this bakery! From the moment I scheduled my cake testing I could just feel the difference in atmosphere with this bakery. We had a wonderful cake testing with Kathy and we knew right there this was the perfect choice for us. They did an absolutely amazing job designing our cake. Everyone at the wedding bragged about how great our cake was. We even had a few people who do not eat cake tell us it was delicious and went back for seconds!! The cakes really are delicious and the designs are exactly what you image them to be and then some! Kathy was amazing to work with and was there with any questions I needed answered. My family and i have been getting desserts from Sophisticakes for years. In fact , we are so obsessed that my mom ships Sophisticakes deserts across the county to my sister ! I finally had my wedding last week and obviously i knew where i was getting my cake from. I got the most perfect wedding cake and cupcakes for my wedding. My guests raved about them days after the fact. I can’t expresses my love for this bakery enough. They made my wedding perfect and I’m excited to continue using them for future events ! Very professional Bakery! Given us the cake tasting was the first plus! Having my family around me and a private area was great! But when I walked into my venue (The oaks Ballroom) me and my husband heart melted when we saw our beautiful prefect wedding cake!!!!!! SophistiCakes is amazing! My husband and I used them to create cupcakes and small cake for us to cut at our wedding. The cupcakes were beautiful, they looked like miniature cakes, and were stacked three layers. We chose two flavors, butter cream and the Italian butter cream. Our smaller cake which we used to cut, and we are saving for our year anniversary, was a naked style cake, and it was wrapped at the bottom with silk eucalyptus. It totally captured our rustic look that we were going for! The cake and icing were to die for! Our guests will still rave how they were the best cupcakes they ever had! The pricing was VERY reasonable, and Kathy is fantastic. She made sure that the design was exactly what we were looking for, and followed up with us several times before the actual day. I would HIGHLY recommend them if your looking for a showing cake/cupcakes, and delicious flavor. You will not be disappointed.

The venue I chose offered two bakery choices and we chose Sophistcakes. We couldn’t have been happier. I found a cake that I liked on Pinterest but wanted different colors and wanted dragonflies added. They did an amazing job! They used flowers from my bouquet and added just the right amount of color and beautiful silver dragonflies. Everyone commented on how beautiful the cake was. Also of course the cake was delicious! E staff at Sophistcakes was friendly and easy to work with. I highly recommend them!

Kathy and the staff at Sophisti Cakes were so wonderful to work with during our wedding planning process. This was our first and last bakery we visited. They were quick to respond to our inquiry, we planned a tasting, and the rest was history. They delivered nothing but excellence, we would have been silly to go looking elsewhere. They have so many flavors to choose from to make every couple and their guests happy. To top it all off, Sophisti Cakes worked with our venue, Terrain at Styers, very closely to the point that we did not have to worry about a thing. All deliveries and decorations were done without me being involved the day of. I just gave the directions ahead of time and literally had nothing to worry about the day of – it was fantastic. The cake was perfect, delicious, and exactly what we asked for. Kudos to you, Sophisti Cakes. You are doing it right! Highly recommended!

My husband and I decided to go with Sophisticakes for the cupcakes at our wedding and couldn't be happier with how they turned out! Since we live about 2 hours away from the bakery, we decided not to do a tasting. We chose the vanilla pound cake, chocolate chip vanilla pound cake, red velvet, and carrot cake for our cupcakes, and each of them were delicious. All of my correspondences with Kathy and her staff were positive and professional. We truly appreciate their part in making our wedding day special!

The wedding cake I ordered for my son’s wedding dinner party was perfect. The guests and the bride and groom was very satisfied, everyone said this was the best cake . The bride stated that she wasn’t going to freeze the top for the one year anniversary because she was going to eat it now and wasn’t saving it. All the cakes I brought here are always so good. I was introduced to Sophisti Cakes by a close friend 6 years ago. I have never tasted a light butter lb cake such as what this bakery makes in my life and I’m married to a military man and have eaten all over the East Coast. They are phenomenal, personable and just all around superb. Customer service is A1 whenever you call or go in. About a month before a dear friends wedding unfortunately they ran out of money and didn’t have a clue where to get or even afford a wedding cake. I decided that I would make that a gift to them but I was on a serious budget getting my house remodeled and other expenses popping up. So I called them on the phone and had a conversation with one of the ladies that worked there. Explaining the situation but I had a specific vision that I wanted. She totally understood and when I got there it was printed out just by my description. When I got there though it was a slight misunderstanding because I didn’t make it clear how many ppl I had to feed. They were very understanding and helped me come up with a solution with feeding everyone and the bride and groom would have an anniversary cake as well. The cake was beautiful. Everyone at the reception asked where did the cake come from. A few knew by the taste and we had to turn some down who were asking for a piece to go. I absolutely love Sophisti Cakes and will not go anywhere else for any type of cake. They have the best customer service and are some of the nicest ppl you will ever meet. I am so bad with names but everyone that I’ve ever had an interaction with there have the same personable, kind attitude. The cake is light and fluffy and you don’t believe you’re eating pound cake. Sinfully deliciousness. My daughter doesn’t like icing but will only eat their icing. I will only get cakes from them and when you taste their cake you will feel the same. Michelle W.

We celebrated our wedding on March 24th, 2018. Our vendor gave us several options for bakeries, but based on previously tasting thier chocolate chip pound, I had no doubt of where I wanted to get my wedding cake from. Because they custom bake thier wedding cakes DAY OF they only do a few each weekend and they book fast. We tasted a year in advance. From the tasting to the actual wedding day, Sophisticakes makes it seamless. You have so many cake flavor and icing options, cake decor options and above all it’s delicious! We had fresh flowers on our cake and Sophisticakes coordinated with the florist. Not only that, they coordinated with the florist and the caterer. We just showed up to a beautiful cake displayed that tasted amazing. I would highly recommend Sophisticakes to any couple getting married, you will not be disappointed.

Kathy Pawlickilies lies and steals from her clients - DO NOT use Sophisticakes for your wedding cake. She talks out of both sides of her mouth and takes advantage of the wedding cake industry by being sneaky and trying to up-charge. In Nov 2017, we decided to do our cake tasting with Kathy. The tasting stipulations for Sophisticakes clearly stated this, "A tasting and consultation is $35. This fee includes a tasting of up to 5 flavors (in cupcake form) and up to 1 hour with our wedding consultant. If you book your wedding cake with us, the consultation fee will be deducted from your total balance." This statement was visible on brochures and the website, was stated via email exchange between Kathy and me, and again verbally expressed at the tasting. We went ahead with the tasting. We were uncertain if we wanted a two tier or one tier cake. We expressed this to Kathy prior to the tasting and she said no worries; she was flexible with whatever we decided. At the tasting, we expressed that we may only want a small 6-inch wedding cake, which would cost around $40. We specifically asked Kathy if she would take the $35 off if we decided to go with a smaller $40 cake. Kathy said she would honor the deduction of the $35. She specifically said, "If that's what you want, then sure!" We told Kathy we would call back closer to the wedding to book our cake and thanked her for her service. About seven weeks later, I called Kathy and told her we'd like to put the order in for the basic 6'' double cake with filling and plain icing. No extras just basic. Kathy said that the cake would cost $47.99. I told her, "Great, let's put the order in, and please deduct the $35 from the cake tasting fee, since we decided to book with you and that was discussed and paid at our tasting." Kathy quickly laughed at me and said, "Oh no, you don't get that $35 deduction. That is only good for wedding cakes that are $300+. I thought you guys were kidding at the tasting about getting a $35 discount on a $50 cake." I told her that was never clearly stated in any of the brochures, website, emails, or even mentioned at the cake tasting. Kathy said, "I assumed that you and your fiance knew that I was joking about deducting the $35. I need to make money so it is only for $300+ cakes." Kathy knowingly kept this $300 minimum rule from us or created this requirement once she found out that my fiance and I did not wants an extravagant cake $300+ cake. After confronting Kathy about her lack of communication about this $300 minimum, she lied and said it was in her brochures and on her website, and it clearly was not. Kathy is a greedy snake who lies. Kathy is running a slimy business where she takes advantage of brides and their families. She talks in circles to gauge how much a customer is willing to spend so she can upcharge and take advantage of her clients. Kathy's deceitfulness is insulting as a bride who is planning a wedding on a budget. As a business owner, she owes it to her customers to be upfront and honest with her services AND if she screws up she should hold herself accountable - not lie her way around it. Bottomline, if we knew up-front that we needed to order a cake that was at least $300+ to get the $35 waived, then we would have never done a tasting to begin with. If we knew Kathy was so unprofessional we would have also never gone to Sophisticakes. I hope the $35 was worth the loss of a loyal customer.

I dont even know where to start. Sophisticake's service was impecable since day one. I came in with the idea of ordering a cake for each one of my reception tables to use as centerpieces (plus a 2-tier wedding cake for my table) so I ended up ordering 15 cakes in 4 different flavors and different designs. Sophisticakea delivered what I wanted and exceeded my expectations. Each one of those cakes was absolutely delucious and beautiful! We still get compliments on those cakes till this day. I give them 1,000 stars for making my wedding one our guests will never forget. Recommended 100%

Our caterer included two bakeries in our package and neither stood up to our family favorite... SophistiCakes! We decided to nix the included cake and go with SophistiCakes and we do not regret it!!! We love these cakes and couldn’t imagine our wedding day without it! The chocolate chip pounds with buttercream was amazing and the double chocolate with Oreo Creme was out of this world! Our guests raved about the cake! Kathy and team were so easy to work with and delivered everything to the venue while coordinating with our florist for the floral design! Thank you for everything!!!

This bakery is committed to excellence. Kathy (the owner) hosted us for our wedding tasting and was a true joy to work with! When we called to schedule the tasting, she listened to our flavor preferences and followed up by serving us exactly what we asked for! The SophistiCakes decorators won't shy away from intricate designs; our cake turned out EXACTLY like the photo that we showed Kathy and we were amazed! Best of all, each layer tasted great! I bake layer cakes from scratch at home, and Kathy and her bakers use the same process at SophistiCakes. I think this process is often taken for granted. We worked with a reception venue that gave us a choice of 2 bakeries, and the second bakery we visited told us that they added a preservative to their cakes so they didn't need to refrigerate it for a whole day prior to delivery. We tasted the difference, and SophistiCakes was the clear winner. Thanks to Kathy and her team for making our wedding day sweeter! We can't wait to eat our anniversary cake!

This is my favorite bakery, so I knew where I wanted to go when it came time for my wedding cake. Sophisticakes was great to work with and the tasting was fun. I brought in a picture of what I wanted, and we made some changes since we ended up going with a cupcake tower, but it was absolutely beautiful and delicious. We went with red velvet, lemon raspberry, and chocolate chip pound cake for our cupcakes and chocolate chip pound for our small cake and they came out great. I also like that they don't charge you extra for multiple cupcake flavors. Highly recommend, and we will definitely be back in the future!

Kathy and her staff lived up to our expectations and more. it bagan with the cake tasting to the actual day. When we saw our cake.....Speechless! OUR wedding day was superb and the cake was the most delicious we've tasted in quite sometime. We have been back to the bakery a few times since the wedding and have made them our premiere bakery. I had a few options for my wedding cake and I am so happy that I went with Sophisticakes. Right from the start I was thrilled with their service. They were very patient and attentive during the taste testing and I loved the design we chose. My cake was absolutely beautiful and all my guests agreed it was delicious! The top tier of my cake was red velvet and it was honestly the best red velvet cake I have ever had in my life. Everything was perfect, they gave me a stress free experience and I highly recommend them to everyone.

Not only was the price for our wedding cake excellent, the cake was AMAZING. It was beautiful and tasted absolutely delicious. Our guests could not stop commenting on how great our wedding cake was (one guest even wished she had extra to eat on her plane ride home!). We also decided to add (last minute) cookie trays. Sophisticakes was very accommodating, and of course the treats were delicious. Thank you!

Our venue offered a choice of two cake vendors. We decided on Sophisticakes because their cakes were delicious and they used real butter and sugar which is important to us. Kathy was extremely attentive to my design requests and our cake looked beautiful on the day of our wedding. We opted for one layer of chocolate chip pound with buttercream, one layer of pound with raspberry buttercream, one layer of pound with strawberry buttercream, and one layer of lemon cake with lemon buttercream. Kathy went out of her way to provide good customer service, even staying past closing when we were rushing from work to drop off our cake topper. She also designed a beautiful hockey-themed personalized groom's cake for the rehearsal dinner that was exactly what I was envisioning and even featured the exact design of my husband's college hockey jersey. My husband and I highly recommend the chocolate chip pound cake. It's delicious! Thank you Kathy and the Sophisticakes team for making our wedding so special (& sweet!)!

Sophisticakes was so easy to work with and helped with multiple tastings and cake ideas. The final cake was absolutely gorgeous, with beautiful artistic details on the sides, everyone was raving about our cake during the wedding reception! We chose Sophisticakes Bakery for our August 12, 2017 wedding at The Old Mill in Rose Valley, PA. Kathy and her staff were wonderful from start to finish. We never felt rushed and Kathy was very patient while helping us design the wedding cake. She has the type of personality that puts you at ease and makes you feel like you've known her for years. In addition to our wedding cake, my parents also placed an order for a small groom's cake (which was Batman themed) and a small Beauty and the Beast themed cake for our rehearsal dinner. The cakes (one red velvet, one vanilla pound) were so fresh and delicious that guests were asking for seconds! When I arrived at our wedding venue the next day, I immediately headed straight inside to see our cake because I was so excited. Our wedding cake turned out better than I could have ever imagined! The customized cake topper we ordered matched the cake perfectly and actually moved me to tears to see everything brought to life. I simply cannot say enough good things about Kathy and her staff!
