Sound in Motion was a fantastic choice for our wedding's DJ and entertainment services. Shawn and the rest of the admin team were incredibly responsive and professional. Their website was easy to navigate, and with their online client portal, we were able to curate a selection of songs that made our day truly special. Logan, our DJ for the day, did an outstanding job. The music for our ceremony and throughout the day was exactly how we envisioned and planned. He was flexible with a few extra speeches, and kept the day moving along smoothly. Not to mention, he was incredibly kind and approachable. Would recommend them to anyone!

HIRE THEM!!!!!! But if that alone doesn't convince you, feel free to keep reading. We got married 6/8/19 at the Olympic Club in San Francisco and had SIM provide our MC/DJ and lighting services. They also have photography, videography, and photobooth services if you're looking for a one-stop shop! SIM was one of our venue's preferred vendors, so they were the only entertainment vendor I contacted and once we got in touch, I knew I didn't have to look any further! We emailed with Shawn Cavlan in the beginning and set up a telephone meeting with her. She was always upbeat and extremely helpful, and made good recommendations for DJs to work with. Raffi Nalvarian was our MC/DJ throughout the ceremony and reception and everything went off without a hitch! Picking Raffi was a no-brainer, he came highly regarded by our venue coordinator and has years of expertise, and it clearly showed in the execution. Absolutely a pleasure to work with (really didn't need to do much on my part - which honestly is the BEST thing since there's so many other things with wedding planning to have to deal with), and his music selections kept our guests dancing all night long! Sound quality of the ceremony and reception speeches were fantastic as well. The planning forms were easy to fill out, and even has plenty of suggestions of popular tunes for first dance, father/daughter dance, bouquet toss, you name it! Uplighting was great, and SIM seamlessly brought in all the lighting kits and set them around the venue and made the whole place look like it was lit up by romantic warm candlelight. The dynamic lighting was great for dancing after reception! Thank you Shawn and Raffi for making our wedding day the best one ever! We might have to throw another party soon so that we can work with you again soon!!! :)

We worked with Andrew Rivas (from Sound in Motion) for our wedding on 5/18/19 in Ben Lomond, CA. Andrew did an AWESOME job. Extremely professional, spot-on playlist, friendly, easy to work with. We had rainy weather for our wedding and Andrew did not let it slow him down a bit. He set up in the rain, all the sound equipment worked 100% with no blips, and always had a smile on his face. He matched his style to exactly what we were looking for… more of an “in-the-background” emcee for the evening that made clear announcements but didn’t add more than was needed. But he also lit up the dancefloor and we couldn’t have been happier with the vibe he helped to create. We did a few calls with Andrew ahead of time to make sure we were aligned around timetable, music, etc and couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with.

My husband and I got married on 9/1/8 at Seascape Beach Resort in Aptos and SIM is one of their preferred vendors (for good reason too) so we went with them for our wedding DJ/MC services. Adam was our DJ/MC for the night. They fit into our budget, had an opening on Labor Day Weekend and the feeling and vibe we got when we spoke with Shawn (one of the main owners) was just the "right" feeling you should get when you book a vendor. We ended up booking SIM in late 2017 & got in contact with our assigned DJ, Adam Millman. We set up an in person meeting with Adam to get to know each other, which I really appreciated! The one thing I hate about working with large vendors is with these large companies, there is always the head business owner and then they may assign you another person as your actual DJ or photographer, etc - and you never end up meeting the person till the wedding day, so this in person meeting was much appreciated! Over the course of the year of wedding planning, my husband and I adjusted our wedding playlist several times and about a month before the wedding, had our final meeting with Adam where we went over all the music selections and timeline of wedding. I left that meeting feeling ready and excited for the wedding! Day of wedding arrived and Adam & his assistant were at the venue well before their scheduled time to get everything set up, testing mics and the music. Adam played all the right songs that we had selected and during the reception, kept the dance floor packed! He took requests all night and did an amazing job with the 45 minutes he had for open dancing. We ran way over our timeline and speeches took forever, so we ended up not having as much time for open dancing and to get through our MUST PLAY list, but he worked with it and played the best songs possible in that time frame! He even rolled with it when my Maid of Honor asked him to do a "rapid fire money dance" since we had to skip over the more formal one due to timing. Now if only our reception could of gone until 11:00pm, that would of been perfect!! Adam was great in playing all the music that my friends wanted to hear + the music the older folks wanted to hear. Why am I only giving 4 stars?! So, now after getting our wedding video back, I have come to notice that there were actually a few audio problems that should not of occurred, especially with SIM working at Seascape so much! During my walk down the aisle, the song was WAY too loud and during one part it made a very bad high pitched noise and hurt everyone's ears. I didn't notice because I was too focused on my husband at the end of the aisle, but my guest did. Additionally, during the ceremony, there was a ton of feedback and it seemed like while we were saying our vows, we were echoing a ton. For working at this venue so much, I feel like these issues should of been resolved or tested prior. Not the end of the world, but something that could of been fixed. Other than that, everything was great and Adam followed out timeline to a T - announcing everything as stated and made sure the dance floor was packed all night! Thank you again!

DJ Adam was very thorough and brought the party to life. He was gracious with us when we missed out planning appointment and had the perfect persona that we wanted for our wedding. Sound in Motion is a great and reliable company to have for any large event.

We absolutely loved working with SIM for our wedding. Raffi was a rockstar DJ who literally re-played a song for one of our guests who was in the restroom. Coordinating and planning with Raffi was incredibly easy and his work was seamless and impeccable. We would highly recommend not only SIM but specifically Raffi for your DJ and MC needs.

Loveliest people to work with! The DJ and the owner were both enthusiastic, kind, warm people. We both really enjoyed working with them. I was nervous about using a DJ for our wedding because I have been to so many weddings where the DJ treated the event like a football game - just took up too much psychic space, were loud and kind over overwhelming, etc. We did not have that problem with SIM, and it turns out they all go through training about how NOT to be that way! Our DJ's name was Adam and he was a gem. The itinerary was out the window pretty much as soon as the ceremony ended, and I had provided playlists we wanted to use at specified time, so we definitely created what was likely a stressful situation for our poor DJ during the reception. He managed to handle it all gracefully, playing all the songs at the right time! The only room for improvement I can offer is that our DJ thought we needed three songs for the ceremony procession, which was more than we needed, so I wasn't super happy with how the ceremony music came out. One song started and played for ~10 seconds, abruptly stopped, then the next was able to play for 30, then abruptly stopped, then my bridal processional started. It would have been much better if we stuck with two songs - one for the mother of the bride, the groom, and the bridal party and one for the bridal processional. Other than that, everything was perfect and Adam beautifully handled the whole event! Thank you! P.S. They also rent games, for only $160 I was able to get three games for the lawn that our guests really enjoyed!

We hired Sound In Motion for the DJ services for our wedding day and we could not been happier with our choice! From the second we decided to hire them we knew we had made the right choice. They were so organized, so attentive to our email questions, and their online portal made the planning and organizing process so easy. Adam was our DJ and he could not have been more awesome! From our initial phone conversation to the actual wedding day, he made us feel so at ease and ensured that he would help us have the best day ever, which is exactly what he did! Everything could not have been more perfect: the timing and volume of the ceremony music, the organization and flow of introductions and speeches at the reception dinner, and the way he got everyone pumped up and on the dance floor at the end of the night was amazing. We would highly recommend Sound in Motion (and specifically Adam if you can get him!) for your wedding DJ services.

I was able to book them for a DJ and photo boots just a few weeks in advance! DJ Adam was FANTASTIC and, after only a fairly short phone conversation, he was really able to get a good feel for the style of music I wanted and was also able to cater to the type of music that our families enjoyed as well. He was even able to make a last minute change to the ceremony music when my new hubby and our officiant/best friend decided the day before at our rehearsal that they wanted to walk down the isle to Back in Black. Megan was so great with the photo booth and I just loved the photo book they put together for us. They even took some photos and wrote a sweet little message for us. Overall a fantastic experience and they really helped make our special day that much more special <3

I can't say enough how amazing Raffi was at our wedding! He was so fun to work with and helped with the planning ahead of time. On the day of our wedding I had total confidence in him and had no worries about the flow of the day knowing that we were in very capable hands! I highly recommend Sound in Motion and specifically Raffi to make your wedding day so memorable and fun!

Nick was awesome. He was super nice and laid back. He played all the songs we wanted and really got the vibe of our wedding and kept everyone on the dance floor all night long!!! Our wedding was super fun thanks to Nick! I also loved how they have everything online. It made everything so easy to set up and I could find all the information I needed at any time and keep everything super organized.

Without a doubt, of all the vendors I worked with for our wedding Logan was our favorite!!! First of all, Sound in Motion was super professional and got back to me right away after I first emailed them and had availability for a pretty last minute wedding. They seemed like a good company and the price was right so I went for it. They had me pick a DJ and really with minimal to go off of we picked Logan and are so so happy we did!! Logan is so friendly and hilarious and appreciates humor and made our first meeting so fun and productive, though I'm surprised we got so much done because I feel like we just laughed the whole time. He had a lot of good ideas and positive feedback... It was really nice to just have a moment of planning that felt like relaxing. I had some various tricky requests that he made come to life seamlessly and we had some tricky names too that he conquered no problemo. I also had last minute song requests the night before which he played all of and he kept the dance floor going all night. I may be biased towards my wedding but I also know I'm not being biased when I say it the best DJ I've ever seen at a wedding and only one other maybe comes close. He did a great job of not being too prominent of a figure like he wanted to be center of attention (as I have seen at some weddings) but still making nice announcements and keeping everything running smoothly. We had so much fun dancing at our wedding and so did everyone else. Literally almost everyone was on the dance floor and stayed the entire time. I saw family members of mine dance that I have never seen dance before...it was amazing. And the best thing ever was being surprised months later with all of the toasts that were recorded. That was PRICELESS and the best thing ever. Shows how he goes over the top. Logan truly seems passionate about this job and hobby and we are so thankful!
