Sound productions DJ and MC service made our wedding reception! Our first encounter with them was at the NM bridal expo and we were immediately drawn to their lighting and sound. When approaching them to inquire we were blown away by their professionalism, their knowledge and experience in events, and the pride they take in their work. We booked immediately. Our meetings were professional, they took into account what we desired for our reception, and offered us guidance as we needed because we hadn’t been married before. As a very organized individual, I loved that there was a plan as to how things were going to go, it made our reception seamless, I did not have to stress about a timeline, as they kept us informed and in the loop. My husbands family came from out of town and the said our reception was one of the best they had ever been to, and it was Sound Productions that made this happen. Dj Mike had everyone on the dance floor, all night long. We are forever grateful, and they created a night we won’t forget for the rest of our lives, it far exceeded our expectations.

We had our wedding a few weeks ago over labor day weekend and Matthew was a wonderful DJ. Not only were people up and dancing during the reception, but he paid attention to detail and helped us with the flow of our event. We could tell that he has a lot of experience with weddings. Also, the uplighting and monogram looked great in our ballroom. Would definitely recommend. ✨️

Sound Productions was incredible. They not only played good music, but also pretty much ran the whole wedding and made everything go smoothly. There were a few hiccups in the wedding, but Sound Productions worked with the our other vendors and handled it very well. They customized their services to us and carried out our vision perfectly. Our top three priorities for our wedding were our venue, our food, and our entertainment and our guests' feedback reflected that we did a stellar job in picking all three. I stumbled upon Matthew Martinez at a Wedding Expo a couple years ago when I started planning my wedding and let me tell you, he is by far the BEST DJ! He explains everything he needs from the couple in an itinerary that is to be filled out as it gets closer to the wedding and he gets to know the couple very well in a introduction meeting. He will make your wedding process run so smooth and will even tell you himself “don’t worry about anything, just enjoy yourself”. Our wedding was 2 weeks ago and everyone danced from the minute he started playing music until it was time to leave the reception! Matthew and his wife were our DJ's in Taos. We are not musical families so hiring a DJ seemed daunting. Matthew had everyone on the dance floor all night from 7-12. No one wanted the night to end, and all generations participated and had a great time. Great follow up, great customer service, and really nice guy. Highly recommend using them.

Matthew was my first choice in hiring a DJ for our wedding. He has done other events for my family including my sister’s wedding and he was amazing as usual. Prior to our wedding we had meetings to talk about the big day and go over music we wanted to hear. He calmed my nerves and added to the excitement. Our wedding was delayed due to rain, which in turn delayed our reception. We even had a few hiccups regarding our wedding party, but Matthew was patient and understanding and went with the flow. Matt was an amazing LGBTQ friendly DJ for our wedding! He was so organized, prepared, detail oriented and kept the party going all night! Where do I even begin???? I got married in 2004 and people to THIS DAY talk about how much fun my wedding was! EVERYONE talked about my DJ!! Matthew Martinez is such a professional! He not only knows the art of being a DJ, but he knows weddings! He knows what should and shouldn't happen! Fast forward from my wedding in 2004 to my daughter's wedding in August 2019...there was no question when it came to selecting a DJ! We chose Matt to DJ our wedding due to his wonderful reviews and professionalism from the very first phone call on day one! From the way he was dressed, to the state of the art- high-tech equipment he brought for our event, everything was PERFECT. Sound Productions DJ and MC provided exceptional service at our out-of-town Ski Area Wedding June 24th, 2017. There were many challenges which were handled gracefully, from a forecast of rain at our outdoor venue, to the groom walking down the aisle a song early! DJ Ray knew our ceremony playlist well, and was able to fade our "guests-take-seats" song and transition to the "Wedding-Party-Enter-Ceremony" song seamlessly. DJ Ray arrived with plenty of time to set up in a place he had never been, set up the alter with a microphone and speakers, and begin playing our genre of music requested, all without any need for direction from me on the day of. It was so stress free the day of because we had planned everything out during two face to face meetings. We paid for a package deal including all travel and set up for ceremony and reception services. We were stretching the 6-hour package from the exact start time (4pm) of the ceremony to the end time (10pm), however DJ Ray was kind enough to begin playing our requested genre music as guests began arriving at 3:30pm, and ended perfectly on our requested last song of the night "Dancing in the Moonlight" at 10pm. DJ Ray communicated well throughout the evening and the dance floor was filled all night. The MC services provided kept us on schedule and allowed us to have an amazing wedding without the need for a wedding planner or day of coordinator. Thank you, DJ Ray and Matthew Martinez for providing the perfect atmosphere and coordination at our wedding. PS: Every wedding I attend where there is an iPod playlist and rented speakers, the dance floor comes to a pause during that 1-2 second silence between songs. When this happens, I lean into my husband and whisper, "I am glad we had a DJ at our wedding..."

Definitely the best DJ in town (or nearby). He made the dance floor stay alive by playing music everyone loved. He saw what drew the crowd and stuck to playing crowd pleasers. He is able to work with any music that is given to him and work with any aspect of the ceremony we wanted him to. He began every song, MC moment and introduction at the appropriate time and was able to adapt easily when things changed as the day progressed. Our ceremony went off without a hitch, he began songs at the appropriate cue times and was in tune with what was happening able to begin our communion song on time and ensuring adequate volume in a room with echo. During our reception we had his up lighting for the venue that truly transformed our room. It made our venue look more beautiful than it already was and created an ambiance and mood of class and fun at the same time. He went above and beyond his calling to ensure that everything was in place and that we would be free of any added stressors. When things changed and our table had to be placed too far from our table so nobody would see us cut it, he himself had the cake brought to us so that it would be in view and that we wouldn't be inconvenienced. Our first dance and dances with our parents were beautiful thanks to his coordinating with us how the progression would flow. He ensured our best man and maid of honor knew all of their roles so that they could help with the flow of the night. He gave us options for every possible desire we had and even when things could have been awkward (I.e. No line in our honeymoon dance) he encouraged the guests to where they eventually lined up to come and dance with us and had fun. Our party/dancing music had everyone having a good time with even my wife's 81 year old grandma got up to dance with everyone. There was much fun and life at our wedding and I need to attribute a lot of it to the exceptional professionalism, expertise, and attention to detail by DJ Matt. I would want nobody else to DJ and MC event for me but him!

Sound productions did a great job for our wedding. Planning for all the small details was great. It was nice that the DJ didn't just do music - they helped with timeline and details such as toast, cake cutting, etc. Mike was our DJ the night of the wedding and he was also present during our planning session. Matthew was our DJ for our 200-250 guest July 2nd wedding. We were beyond impressed with his professionalism and extreme attention to detail. We met 1 on 1 with Matthew to plan out both our ceremony and reception. Not only were we provided with the music we wanted, but with a complete lighting set up, full emcee services, organizational planning and rehearsal, even some extra personalized features. By selecting Sound Productions DJ &MC services we were able to incorporate elements that made our event unique. We selected the option of the slideshow and texting services which allowed us to have a slideshow of personal photos playing as our guests were able to interact through a messaging service to wish us well and leave messages that popped up on the screen throughout the event. In addition to the messaging element we were able to honor my parents' 30th wedding anniversary with a special dance featuring their wedding video of their 1st dance playing simultaneously on the screen as they danced on our dance floor to their first dance song. Our event was full of challenges, like needing to have a bilingual English-Spanish MC, although Matthew himself is not bilingual he was able to give us exactly what we wanted by having a second person work our event alongside him. Matthew cares about his business and his clients, and he makes it his priority to do everything possible to make the event what his client envisions. Our wedding was organized and everything from the guest seating, to the grand entrance, to the buffet line, cake cutting, toasts, feature dances and last minute requests was cohesive and moved along smoothly throughout the night. Our guests were impressed by how organized everything was and how the event was a balance of two cultures that are not always easy to bring together in such a large event. Before making our DJ selection we had shopped around, but no other vendor compared to the quality and professionalism we found in Sound Producrions. The saying is, "you get what you pay for" but I believe that, in comparison to other vendors in a similar price range, we received the best value. The equipment and setup was modern and professional, and the services provided were beyond our initial expectations. We highly recommend Sound Productions DJ and MC Services for any event.

Matthew Martinez was recommended to me by a co-worker/friend who was using him for her son's wedding. We are so glad we chose him as the DJ for our wedding! He went above and beyond our expectations. We used him for our ceremony and reception. He not only provided music for our wedding but he also made sure the day ran smoothly from beginning to end. He helped us with our timeline of events for the day. There was a point during our wedding where the next "to do" on the timeline was to cut the cake but the cake was not where it was supposed to be (venue messed up on that). Matt let me know the situation asked what I wanted to do and resolved it for me. When it came time to dance and just let loose he made sure that is exactly what happened. Our guests were on the dance floor having a great time. Thank you so much for helping make our wedding the perfect day that it was!

DJ Matt was overall the greatest DJ ever!! He organized my entire wedding from start to finish and always pumped Up The crowd never a dull moment. Our wedding venue completely had our room setup wrong and DJ Matt fixed it assured me That he will make it what we wanted! And he definitely came through our guest had a great time!!

I'm late on leaving reviews but better late than never. Our wedding was in April. These guys are nice enough at first but for the money we spent I really wish we up and did something else. Heck for the amount we spent we could have just bought a tablet rented some speakers and had all the music we wanted on a free Pandora trial. These guys really screwed up, firstly they gave our venue bad times for events like champagne toast and cake cutting even though we all (husband and I, owner & DJ)sat down and planned everything within a 5 minute window. Then they hardly played any music we expressly requested including the wrong song for our first dance. Keep in mind none of this was like verbal miscommunication, no this was written down, typed up, signed and emailed and apparently ignored. What was most annoying was when I brought this to the owners attention he blamed everything on me. Said that I didn't specify our first dance song clearly enough. I told them we wanted "unforgettable by Nat King Cole" what was played was "unforgettable by Nat King Cole featuring Natalie Cole" I know the song and I'm not a Natalie fan and the version with her in it has a different tempo and is longer than the original, the owners defense was that it was my fault for not specifying that I didn't want that version- that it didn't matter what I explicitly asked for, I apparently should have specified what I DIDNT want to be played as our first dance song (which seems unnecessary as I also didn't want them playing "yellow submarine" really needed a list of what I DIDNT want?) but because the version with Natalie is more popular they played it instead of what I asked for. They also didn't play anything I asked and instead took requests from our guests which was surprising to me as that was something we hadn't discussed at all. Had no problem playing any ghetto songs that were requested by some questionable guests but when family/bridesmaids requested songs they were made to wait. They tried to bring a noisy generator to the reception instead of buying more extension cords making something up about the voltage not carrying, my engineer uncle stepped in and put a stop to that by buying the cords himself the DAY before the wedding. The owner flat our lied to me when I brought these things to his attention he said they played most of the songs I asked for and bought the songs I had put on my "must play" list if they didn't have them. I know it's a lie because I wanted a specific song for the last song of the night for a nice slow dance and guess who didn't have it... a ton of bull from these guys. Should have gone with my sisters DJ, howling coyote productions they were awesome so much better.

My husband and I wanted to make sure we had a wedding to remember and that the day could be the best it could possibly be and thanks to Matthew Martinez, it was absolutely perfect. Matthew’s years of experience in the field make him the best DJ and I’m so glad we went with him and no one else. He made sure we had all our bases covered and even taught us how to cut our cake to avoid making a huge mess. I cannot tell you how nervous I was to hire someone I didn't know at all to basically control how my evening was going to go, but that all went away once I had my first phone call with Matt!! He is very professional and knows exactly what he's doing. He's very organized and well put together!! He knew what I wanted more than I did!! The day of he was on time, professional, calm, and kept things flowing the way I only dreamed about my day! Matthew and Mike went above and beyond from beginning to the end. We meet Matthew at this years Wedding Expo in February first impressions are very important we knew that day he would be our Wedding DJ after meeting with several other vendors. They walked us through the whole process every detail addressed. Let me just say things I didn't even think of they thought of everything. From losing my Dad and sharing the best ways for his memory to be there on our special day. The best part I remember about these two gentleman was they even taught us 101 etiquette of cake cutting which I didn't even know about. Please go to the Best DJ's with Matthew and Mike for all your entertainment needs and wants they will deliver. We will only use their services for our future needs. They have become friends.

Matt was personable during my initial encounter. He was very reassuring that he would run all details during my wedding day so that I would not have to worry about anything. He arrived on time and got set up, but did not "dress" his power cords very well and ran them through the area where we were going to do family photos. We had to find a new spot as a result. During announcements he was very formal, not as personable as when we had spoken one on one. He did follow my typed out schedule to the letter. The problem with this is that I gave too much time for certain things - like the buffet dinner. As a result, all of my guests finished eating and sat around waiting for the next stage - Matt did not improvise at all and get the next event started early. I had to leave my table and micromanage this transition - something I did not want to do at all on my wedding day! Matt played all of the songs that I chose perfectly - we started the ring bearer song half way through and he cued it just as asked. He played great dance songs during the dance portion of the reception, although some of my "must play" songs he played while I was away getting photos. So I missed some of my most favorite songs! Overall, Matt delivered exactly what I asked for, but was a little stiff when making announcements and did not improvise very much when events began to lull. Once the dancing started, though, he played great songs and my guests, my husband and I had an excellent time!

DJ Matt was incredible. We booked him for our Ruidoso, New Mexico wedding and he was open to traveling without a bunch of crazy fees from Rio Rancho/Albuquerque. We had a couple facetime/phone calls to go over the flow of the reception and he was great with his input and with taking into account our idea for our reception. We had a very non traditional reception (no sit down dinner, minimal "wedding" activities) and he offered his advice in what he has experienced and also incorporated all of our desires. My guests were hard core dancers and we had a large variety of ages. DJ Matt had every single person (even non dancers) on the floor. Aside from people just being exhausted and taking a quick drink, our dance floor was never empty. All night our guests kept coming up to us and remarking on how he was wonderful and how the music was great. I can not say enough amazing things about him. You want your music to be spot on at your wedding, and DJ Matt is the way to ensure that. He is incredible.

Highest rating for this DJ/MC! DJ Matt entertained our guests, diverted them seamlessly when my father could not be located for the father-bride dance, dealt with the weird requests of my newly divorced parents and was friendly to all of our guests. His DJ skills were tremendous in that we enjoyed his selection and taste, his variety, his organization and his responsiveness. Additionally, his sound system was perfect. His true value, however, was in all the extra things he did to really make our day special. DJ Matt is the only reason the problems with our event coordinator did not turn into a disaster. He advocated for us and was assertive in sticking to the schedule we had provided to our photographer, guitarist, wedding party and guests. He was a calm and supportive presence that helped us ignore the stress and enjoy our day. He was never needy or intrusive and orchestrated the flow of the event beautifully. He even brought some beautiful led lights to help make our space more romantic. We will definitely be hiring him in the future!

You not only made it fun, but you made it so special! We had a really large wedding with 350-400 people with the huge ballroom in Sandia Casino and Matt had everyone's attention throughout the whole night and always made sure we were happy with the flow. Everyone kept on telling us what a great time they were having. The voice overs and confetti made the whole night unique. He explains what the wedding march and cake cutting mean. Matt helped make the night perfect. We wanted our guests to want to be on the dance floor until the very last dance and that is just what he did. It was amazing!!!!!!! Thank you!!

Matthew Martinez did an outstanding job at my wedding. Not only did he take the time, prior to the wedding, to meet with my family and I twice to make sure all details were covered and clear, but also took time to touch on the planning side of things for the reception. I did not have a wedding planner, and Matthew took the initiative to take on that role, along with the role as the DJ. He worked with us on the timeline, specific details, such as cutting the cake, order of events, and music preferences. Matthew was the reason our reception went so smoothly. People were out on the dance floor at all times having a great time because Matthew took the initiative to get to know his audience. He played music that related to the crowd. He did a fantastic job! On top of all that, to end the night, Matthew and his wonderful wife got stuck at the reception site (a ranch in the middle of no where) overnight due to an immense amount of rainfall that evening. They were really easy going about the whole situation. They just laughed it off and went with it. This incident shows a lot about his and his wife's character. With all that said, if you are looking for someone who will do a fantastic job and who won't let you down, this is your guy. I would definitely recommend Sound Productions for any type of event. Matthew is very professional and will do whatever it takes to please his customers. I will definitely hire Sound Productions again for any future events.

Matt is a great DJ, he is very detailed which my type A personality loved! He took the time and went over every single detail of our wedding from the start to beginning. Matt even took the time to explain to us how to cut/hold the knife for the cake and pictures. He was always on time for every meeting and meet with us a couple of times. Best of all he kept us on schedule on our big day, he worked our time line with us,he was phenomenal you won't be disappointed with Matt. Not only is he nice, professional, detailed, on time, he is friendly and dresses nice and explains every detail and reminds you of things you may have forgot. I would recommend Matt in a heartbeat, and in the future when we have events we need a DJ, there will be no hesitation of who we will be hiring. Entertainment is very important on your big day, don't go cheap. Matt was the life of the party and kept my crowd going all night, I can honestly say there was not one song the dance floor was not full. Matt interacted with our guests answered their questions and was one top of helping the bride and groom.

Matt was amazing!!! He saved our wedding… and no I’m not exaggerating! I have never met a DJ like him before. Let me tell you our story… The weekend before our wedding I found out the DJ we booked did not have our music. We had contracted a family friend for a reasonable price and we thought we were good. Little did we know that he was not prepared. That is when I realized that the DJ was not where I should have tried to save money because it was crucial to our big day. I went home and was desperately contacting DJ’s to see if one had the date available. When I contacted DJ Matt he was quick to respond because he saw there was a problem and he truly cared. After I told him my situation he set my mind at ease and let us know that it was going to be okay. When we met DJ Matt he was on top of it. I regret not booking him sooner. He was professional, caring, and knowledgeable. He knew exactly what he was doing and what we needed. We sat with him and he went over our entire day with us. To me he was not just a DJ, he was my reception coordinator! I would have eliminated a lot of stress had I came to him sooner. There were a lot of little things that I did not know how to do or in which order to do them and he came in with his experience and helped me through it all. He will help make your planning and special day less stressful! We were stressing over how we were going to manage our time for the reception and DJ Matt took care of it all. We just discussed what we wanted and he made sure everything went as planned and on time. That day I was stress free and able to enjoy my special day because I had him to keep us on track. He played a variety of music and most importantly he played the music we wanted. With the voice over, he made our first dance unforgettable! Throughout the dance he read the crowd and kept them dancing. He was very upbeat and personable. The up lighting and the set up was amazing! Our wedding reception was so beautiful, thanks in huge part to him! I could not have done all that without him. We had many guests comment about our first dance, music, and how smooth and beautiful everything turned out. Thanks Matt! I highly recommend him and I will be booking him for future events!
