We worked with Sound Productions DJ & MC Service for our September wedding. Leading up to the big day, Matt Martinez was very responsive and professional, assuring us we were in great hands and even advising that we didn’t need to hire a day-of coordinator because his team would handle everything smoothly. Our pre-wedding meetings with him went well, and we felt confident going into the event.
Unfortunately, the experience on the actual wedding day did not live up to those expectations. While Matt was not able to personally be there, we were told DJ Ray would provide the same high-level experience — but that was not the case. The timeline we provided was not followed, names (including ours) were mispronounced during introductions, and there seemed to be a lack of coordination and crowd engagement throughout the evening. Several key moments, including our first dance and cake-cutting songs, were incorrect, and the guest trivia activity we planned was mishandled.
Unsolicited feedback from guests within 1 week after the wedding:
"You guys really saved money with that DJ didn't you?"
"Was that the DJs first wedding?"
"We thought he was provided at no cost from the venue"
On a positive note, Phil and the photo booth team did a fantastic job.

Matthew/ Sound Productions were absolutely amazing! Matthew was very thorough and professional in our first meeting to set the expectation for his style of being a DJ. He kept in contact throughout the wedding planning process which was great.
He just checked in every now and then to make sure my husband and I were still doing well and not stressed while planning the wedding (especially me as the bride.)
A few weeks prior to our wedding Matthew made sure to set up a facetime call to talk through our timeline. Not only for the reception but also for the ceremony to make sure that he had the proper rendition of all the songs so there was no miscommunication and we were happy. He took his time to talk through the timeline and made some slight changes on what needed to be changed.
My husband and I opted to have Matthew, and his team come for the wedding rehearsal, and this was an ABSOLUTE game changer!!! If it weren't for him the organization of our wedding would have been a mess. We had a wedding planner, but she seemed to be a little confused on how the flow should have been, but Matthew intervened once he saw that my husband and I were both not being heard on how we wanted everything to flow. He picked up on us not being happy and made sure that everything was the way we wanted it to be. After he stepped in everything moved seamlessly!! ***I repeat if you can, make sure Matthew is at your wedding rehearsal***
The day of the wedding everything went great! From the wedding ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception, Matthew made sure everything stayed right on time and was perfect. He listed to what we wanted to play at our wedding and exceed our expectations. Our guest was on the dance floor all night which made our wedding so perfect!
I could not have asked for a better DJ and basically a day of coordinator! He went above and beyond and took such great care of us.
Not only did he take care of us during our wedding, Matthew took time to check on my husband and I a few days after the wedding to check on us to see how we were doing. Again if you can hire any DJ he is your guy! He will take the wonderful care of you and your spouse and exceed your expectations of what a DJ should do.

Matthew is amazing to work with! Our wedding went perfectly due to his professionalism and his planning prior to our wedding. All our guests said this was the best wedding they have ever been to! Matthew kept the dance floor packed all night long and was an amazing MC! We had meetings before our wedding to ensure all our songs were correct and discussed how/ when to play them. We also had a gorgeous monogram made that looked amazing in our venue. Matthew is very personable and will ensure your wedding goes smoothly. I will recommend him time and time again. Matthew literally made our whole wedding!! From the planning process he helped us organize our ideas and planned the PERFECT timeline. He worked with us to curate all the music we wanted for ceremony and reception. His sound system for our outdoor ceremony was amazing, with small mics attached to the Officiant and groom, everyone was able to hear everything perfectly! We had one request for our reception: dance party! And that is exactly what we got!! Between his lighting and mix of music, our guests were on the dance floor all night! Matthew was quite literally a DJ and coordinator all wrapped into one. Would highly recommend!!!

Matthew with Sound Productions did a fantastic job at our June 22nd wedding. We were absolutely thrilled with the DJ services he provided. From the initial consultation to the last dance, everything was flawless.
Matthew understood our musical taste perfectly and curated an amazing playlist that kept everyone on the dance floor throughout the night. The energy on the dance floor was electric. His professionalism and experience were evident in every aspect of his work. Sound productions DJ and MC service made our wedding reception! Our first encounter with them was at the NM bridal expo and we were immediately drawn to their lighting and sound. When approaching them to inquire we were blown away by their professionalism, their knowledge and experience in events, and the pride they take in their work. We booked immediately. Our meetings were professional, they took into account what we desired for our reception, and offered us guidance as we needed because we hadn’t been married before. As a very organized individual, I loved that there was a plan as to how things were going to go, it made our reception seamless, I did not have to stress about a timeline, as they kept us informed and in the loop. My husbands family came from out of town and the said our reception was one of the best they had ever been to, and it was Sound Productions that made this happen. Dj Mike had everyone on the dance floor, all night long. We are forever grateful, and they created a night we won’t forget for the rest of our lives, it far exceeded our expectations.

We had our wedding a few weeks ago over labor day weekend and Matthew was a wonderful DJ. Not only were people up and dancing during the reception, but he paid attention to detail and helped us with the flow of our event. We could tell that he has a lot of experience with weddings. Huge thank you to our awesome DJ Matt! He was extremely helpful from the moment we met him, all the way up to our wedding day. We didn't know what to expect or how to plan things out, but Matt gave us some guidance and suggestions. Not only do you get an awesome DJ, but you get a wedding coordinator/planner/hype man all in one! He definitely took the stress off our shoulders. Sound Productions was incredible. They not only played good music, but also pretty much ran the whole wedding and made everything go smoothly. There were a few hiccups in the wedding, but Sound Productions worked with the our other vendors and handled it very well. They customized their services to us and carried out our vision perfectly. Everything from the custom monogram to the lighting and music was perfect. I would definitely recommend Sound Productions to anyone looking for a DJ.

Our top three priorities for our wedding were our venue, our food, and our entertainment and our guests' feedback reflected that we did a stellar job in picking all three. Sound Productions blew us and all of our guests out of the water with their incredible service, personality, music variety, and flow of the night. The right DJ can make or break your day because they play such a huge part in keeping you on track - Sound Productions Staff kept us on schedule throughout the entire night and never moved on before we were ready if we were talking to our guests or got pulled in a different direction. We met with Sound Productions the week of the wedding for almost 2 hours, making sure that they had all the music we needed, that we knew what parts of the songs would be used for the ceremony, and that we were on the same page as to what to expect for the big day. Sound Productions is so much more than music for the day - they were part planner, advisor, entertainer, coordinator, and wrangler. We couldn't be more pleased with our choice to go with Sound Productions and will recommend them to anyone who will listen!

I stumbled upon Matthew Martinez at a Wedding Expo a couple years ago when I started planning my wedding and let me tell you, he is by far the BEST DJ! He explains everything he needs from the couple in an itinerary that is to be filled out as it gets closer to the wedding and he gets to know the couple very well in a introduction meeting. He will make your wedding process run so smooth and will even tell you himself “don’t worry about anything, just enjoy yourself”. Our wedding was 2 weeks ago and everyone danced from the minute he started playing music until it was time to leave the reception! If you’re looking for an amazing DJ for your wedding, you need to book with him!!

5 STARS doesn't do this company justice! Matthew was an absolute professional from start to finish. He is extremely organized, detailed, and very passionate about his work. Equipment top notch!! Lights, sound system, different level of services and packages. I was impressed right off the bat when I seen him at a wedding show I attended. Every meeting we had was never rushed. Matt took his time and a lot of notes. He heard my vision and brought it to life.
My husband and I went with the Pro Exclusive Package! All the bells and whistles. Worth every penny. Our guests were so impressed with our reception and hadn't danced like that in years. Even our elders :) and that's what you want! The light show completely transformed our ballroom. Gorgeous colors! He was there for our rehearsal, ran our ceremony, and made sure the reception was "party of the year"! Never shy on the mic. Reminded our guests to sign our guest book, take pictures with our disposal cameras, and kept celebrating the Bride and Groom.
My absolute favorite little details were our personal monogram and voiceover (not a dry eye in the room) after that played. Don't go cheap on your DJ. You get what you pay for! Dominic and I can't thank you enough!!

Matthew was referred to us by a family friend because of his professionalism and attention to detail. Not only did Matthew meet our expectations, he absolutely exceeded them. From the first time we met, he always prioritized our wants and needs, while ensuring that his expectations of us were known as well. We had multiple meetings where we ironed out key details of our big day. He was always willing to provide suggestions based on his experience, but he also always reminded us that we should do whatever made us happiest. Matthew and his wife were our DJ's in Taos. We are not musical families so hiring a DJ seemed daunting. Matthew had everyone on the dance floor all night from 7-12. No one wanted the night to end, and all generations participated and had a great time. Great follow up, great customer service, and really nice guy. Highly recommend using them.

Matthew was my first choice in hiring a DJ for our wedding. He has done other events for my family including my sister’s wedding and he was amazing as usual. Prior to our wedding we had meetings to talk about the big day and go over music we wanted to hear. He calmed my nerves and added to the excitement. Our wedding was delayed due to rain, which in turn delayed our reception. We even had a few hiccups regarding our wedding party, but Matthew was patient and understanding and went with the flow. He made sure to check in with us throughout the night and was even able to throw in a last-minute request for a song my husband and I love. Matt was an amazing LGBTQ friendly DJ for our wedding! He was so organized, prepared, detail oriented and kept the party going all night! My now wife and I loved how he checked in with us throughout the entire event to make sure everything was going as planned or if anything needed changing. Matt was incredibly organized with the timeline for both our ceremony and our reception, we didn't have to worry about any of it, which was such a weight off our shoulders when we were planning so many other things. We also LOVED how he took requests from our guests and played music everyone was excited to dance to! Mathew was so great! He was very professional throughout the whole process. Our wedding went so smooth and everything stayed on schedule. DJ Matt was very accommodating. We had to change our wedding date due to the fact that our original date was during COVID. He worked with us to plan our special day and was very flexible and reliable. DJ Matt was timely and worked with us to meet before hand to go everything. Our favorite part was the lighting DJ Matt provided at the venue and the special monogram we were able to personalize.

Matthew was amazing to work with! He is so organized and meticulous! He made sure everything would run smoothly and also made sure we were happy with all of our plans! I could tell since the first time I met him he cares about all the small details and he completely came through for our wedding! We all had so much fun and had such a great atmosphere thanks to him! Matthew was an amazing Dj! He went above and beyond to make our day perfect! He is very organized and know what he’s doing! If you hire him you not only get an awesome dj and mc but you get a wedding planner! When I say wedding planner he plans out your entire day in an organized fashion! Where do I even begin???? I got married in 2004 and people to THIS DAY talk about how much fun my wedding was! EVERYONE talked about my DJ!! Matthew Martinez is such a professional! He not only knows the art of being a DJ, but he knows weddings! He knows what should and shouldn't happen! Fast forward from my wedding in 2004 to my daughter's wedding in August 2019...there was no question when it came to selecting a DJ! From the first moment we sat down to meet with him he brought up scenarios that we would have otherwise never thought of! He did the sound for my daughter's ceremony as well as the reception and dance.
He directed everyone where to go and what to do! We had some mishaps with the venue dropping the ball on some key moments for my daughter's wedding, but thanks to Matthew the evening still appeared FLAWLESS to our guests! Our guests danced and danced until the last possible second! I can't tell you how many high fives and hugs i gave Matthew that night! Matthew, thank you for your hard work and your professionalism! And most of all, thank you for helping make my daughter's wedding a moment that will be remembered by everyone for years to come!

Right off the bat I was impressed with his professionalism in making sure that every little detail of the reception would be planned and coordinated. He also didn't mind an additional meeting over the phone after meeting with us in person to address all the details making sure that everything matches our vision for the big day. Sound Productions DJ and MC Service is AMAZING! They made our wedding a night to remember! Matt kept all of our guest involved and helped keep us on track. He is very professional and so much fun! He was even able to make our last minute "grand entrance" happen flawlessly! Best DJ company in New Mexico!

We had the best experience working with Matthew for our Santa Fe wedding! He was very accommodating due to the fact we are from out of state and could not meet in person much. That did not hinder us working with him at all! He was very detailed and professional and made sure everything was perfect. We can’t express how much fun everybody had dancing and celebrating, and we owe it all to Matthew, thank you!

Matthew Martinez was just amazing! Very professional and extremely helpful from start to finish. He took the time to make sure he did everything he could to make our night just perfect.
-He came to Santa Fe just to see our venue, since he hadn't been there in a while. Just to make sure he knew exactly what he had to work with before it was showtime.
-I needed serious help with making decisions and he was there to give suggestions and walk us through it.
-He directed our timeline for the evening. So incredibly helpful!
-He listened to everything we said & what we wanted.
-He was so patient. Some guests thought it was more important for the bride to pay attention to them, instead of answering our MC's questions. He not only was extremely patient with them, he knew exactly how to handle the situation.
-He saved the evening. Our venue messed up quite a bit and we had very little time left over to party. Matt took it in stride and pulled us out of the mess. We not only got through everything we wanted to do, we still had time to have a fantastic time dancing the night away. Matt knew exactly what to do and how to get the party going.
It was a true honor to have him as our DJ and MC. Wish the night didn't have to end so soon. I would highly recommend Sound Productions, services are above and beyond.

We chose Matt to DJ our wedding due to his wonderful reviews and professionalism from the very first phone call on day one! He knows what he is doing and knows how to accomplish and bring life to his customer's vision. From the way he was dressed, to the state of the art- high-tech equipment he brought for our event, everything was PERFECT. He helped us keep our special day on track by helping us make a reception timeline. He put so much effort into the detail and planning of our wedding- we felt like our event was important and of high priority to him. He was so helpful with picking services and upgrades for our event (I was thinking we needed more speakers and lights, and he told me honestly what we did and did not need). He has a great selection of music and is able to get songs if he does not have them in his library. He is honest, dedicated and has so much experience- I would recommend him to anyone in search of a DJ for their event. I would give him 10 stars if I could! Thanks, Matt!
