things started out fine as well and it seemed like we were getting along really well with the DJ. Then, when it was time for ceremonial dances I was surprising my step dad with a dance. He ended up leaving for the bathroom and when my little sister tried to communicate with the DJ to not play our song yet, he said to her that she better find him and get him back inside because he wasn’t going to wait. Then, after a bit of dancing, I went over and asked if we could stop doing slow songs for the rest of the night. He flat out told me no and his reasoning was “I know what I’m doing and no older folks will stay on the dance floor.” I told him that I would prefer no more slow songs because I had talked about that during planning. He told me no again and said he was still going to play one every 10-15 songs. Then, during the dancing he started to play a slow song which was supposed to be our private last dance song! So I had to run over and have him change it. Even though all of those details were planned ahead and the songs were clearly written out. Next, he came over to us and said he was going to end with highway to hell. I said no thank you because I don’t like that song nor do I want to hear it on my wedding day. He said “no I’m playing it because everyone will be dancing” and I asked him again not to. Then he said to my husband and I “fine then give me another song to play” even though we had given him an entire list of hundreds of songs we like with titles and artist names. I told him that I was having a hard time naming a song on the spot because I had been making decisions all day and I shouldn’t have to worry about that so I asked him to please go off of the list. He then said “I already played all of those give me a song.” I couldn’t name one and even though he didn’t use all of the songs from the list, he walked away and proceeded to play highway to hell. I walked out for a moment so I didn’t have to hear the song and end my wedding night with that. Only after 3 additional bridal party members said that I was upset about the song did he come over and say we could play a different one. Then he still made us pick one instead of using the list just because he didn’t want to look it over again. Even though he kept complimenting the list and organization all morning prior to the ceremony and even said something about it to guests at the reception. Unfortunately there were several points in the night where he was playing music not following our plan. Finally, the worst part was right before our private last dance. He asked everyone to clear out of the room and after about 1 minute was getting kind of rude to them for not getting out fast enough for his liking. My husband and I even tried to help and get people out. Then he looked at us and said “your fiends and family are stupid!” Because they weren’t getting out fast enough. When it was just us left, the DJ said “you guys are telling me what to do like I don’t know how to do my job just SHUT UP!” And yelled it! How unprofessional. We might be giving requests and asking for certain things, yes. But it is our wedding day! You are providing us with a service, wouldn’t you want to make sure we were enjoying our time?! Beyond disappointed and what a rude DJ he turned out to be. Completely heartbroken.

he phone with my son the Wednesday before the wedding to finalize all the details including music types, special songs, the timing of the special events. EVERYTHING they promised, unfortunately didn’t happen!! The Day of the wedding, the DJ was to be set up outside by 2:30 for the ceremony, playing music to set the tone while guests were being seated. SOUND PRODUCTIONS didn’t arrive until 2:45 and was higher than a kite!! He started setting up in the tent for the reception?? Our wedding planner had to tell him that he was late and should of been set up and ready by 2:30 for the ceremony. At 3:00 he was still fumbling with his speakers. He could not get ANYTHING to work for the ceremony. We waiting until 3:30 and unfortunately had to start the ceremony without music, speakers or a microphone that worked!! VERY DISAPPOINTING!! Then when it comes time for the reception, there was to be dinner music playing while guests were enjoying appetizers. Guess what?? He started playing inappropriate music very loudly. The wedding party and parent were all outside getting pics done so our guests had to tell him to quiet the music down and play something appropriate. Then when it came time to announce the wedding party he said he wasn’t given any paperwork so he had no idea the names to announce. He had no list for the special dance songs either! It was absolutely HORRIBLE!! Then throughout the whole reception the DJ would go out into his van, which he parked right in front of the entrance to the reception, and was smoking. Every time he left to go outside, our guest would control the music from his laptop, it was either we had to play the music ourselves or continue to listen to Verizon commercial. This is not what we paid for!! SOUND PRODUCTIONS ruined my sons special day and we can never get that day back!! SOUND PRODUCTIONS is false advertising!! They state “If you hire SOUND PRODUCTIONS, you get SOUND PRODUCTIONS”. This is such a lie!!! The owner himself told us they overbooked that day so they needed to outsource a DJ for our event!! No word of this prior to our event. When we told the owner of the incompetence of the DJ he sent to our event, he kept making excuses for him. This is a VERY poor way to operate a business. When you send a DJ to an event, they are representing your company, PERIOD!! Don’t allow SOUND PRODUCTIONS to ruin your special day!! Keep shopping around and find a company that can make your day special and provide you with a competent DJ!! SOUND PRODUCTIONS is horrible and they really don’t care if they ruin your 1 special day!!

ne call went great!! We planned out the whole day. On our wedding day, the dj was supposed to be set up and ready to play music by 2:30 for our guests to be seated. At 3:30 the speaker for the music was finally set up. We began to walk down the aisle 30 minutes after we had planned and the music stopped. The microphone barely worked during the ceremony and kept cutting in and out and no song was played while we were walking back down then isle. Then during cocktail hour, the dj played our grand entrance song and claimed he did not have a list of the music we chose during the phone call meeting. We tried our best to go with the flow and not let it affect us and then around 9pm my husband and I became the dj at our own wedding due to the dj we hired going out to his van to do smoke something multiple times when we were informed that the dj will not be drinking, smoking, or eating during the Reception. Then at 10:15 he started to pack up his van when we had the service booked until 11pm and we were told that the last song would be played at 11pm. TO TOP IT OFF, most of the songs that were played were only played for a few seconds before they were switched to the next song, had SO MANY Verizon commercials, and the officiant had to do all the announcing for the grand entrance, speeches, and table dismissal for food even though the dj was supposed to do so! On October 25th once we got home from our honeymoon, we called the office and spoke with a manager and got an apology from Sound Productions and our money back in full(AFTER the owner of the business, Jim, stating he didn’t think it was fair for them to refund the full amount but he would do it anyway even though the manager I spoke with earlier that day said we deserved all of our money back AND having to continue to contact because they didn’t get around to sending the money until a week after they said they would send it) which was very much appreciated since our special moment was ruined due to their failure. Sound productions also informed us that they didn’t have enough staff for all the weddings they had booked that weekend so they had to hire out from another DJ company. We hired SOUND PRODUCTIONS not another company and so when we were informed of that AFTER the wedding, we were not too pleased. That information should have been provided to us when we booked or during the phone call we had a few days before the wedding. NOT AFTER. AND their website states that they have 0 OUTSOURCING which is obviously not the case!!

tails, Garrett and Jason were awesome to work with when planning song lists and timeline. We requested Jason as our DJ and he was amazing. Our guests loved him too! The weather took a turn and last minute we moved the ceremony indoors. Jason was able to adapt so well with changes and was very professional and collected. He kept everything running smoothly and fun. Highly recommend for any event.
