passed them all with its elegant look, ballroom, outdoor area, cocktail room and bridal/groom suites and bang for your buck! We loved that they only have 1 wedding at a time and had no concern about most of our guests having a seat during the cocktail hour. We had our ceremony at SGM and they were more than accommodating for all of our needs. The staff including our bridal attendant and Maitre D were available and by our side the entire day from hours before the ceremony and until the very end of our night!! The wait staff was unbelievable as well!! The food from the cocktail hour was unforgettable, especially the fresh mozzarella station!! The options for dinner were abundant and each meal was fantastic. The Venetian hour was beyond incredible with an enormous amount of choices. Family and friends are still raving about how amazing the food was from start to finish and how well the wedding went overall!! The bacon egg and cheeses to go were a huge hit and a delightful end to our happily ever after!! Thank you so much to the SGM management & staff at South Gate Manor for making such a memorable wedding day for us!! gorgeous there is no other word. the entire family is so attentive and understanding and will work with you to make sure you have your literal dream day. The food is off the charts and your guests get FIVE choices for dinner which is unheard of. I really cant say enough about south gate. I highly recommend this to any bride in the tri-state area .

hen reviewing a venue. From the first meeting with Chris, we felt relaxed that all our concerns would be addressed. He was honest and helpful with suggestions based on his years of experience in a family run business, and helpful with other vendors we booked. We booked this venue strictly because we knew the food (which was a top priority), would be amazing; and it was elegant, intimate and warm all at the same time. We anticipated great things, and were pleasantly impressed through the planning process with all the cooperation and help to give our daughter the wedding of her dreams. With all that being said, we never expected to be overwhelmed with all of these extras. The staff from greeter to waiter to waitress to server had all bent over backwards for every single guest. They went over and above necessary to make sure that everyone was satisfied. Unlike many matre'ds we had met in the past, Bobby, worked every minute making sure every aspect of the evening went as planned. Jennifer and the other attendants were just that, attentive. The staff's concern was for us to enjoy and for them to work to make that happen. We had never experienced this to that degree. What an amazing experience. Owners and brothers, Chris and Matthew spent the evening walking around making sure every detail was top notch. This truly is a family atmosphere; a staff working together to make something great happen. The South Gate Manor is getting back to basics with what makes a great affair--excellent food, exceptional service, a beautiful ballroom, an outdoor area (where we had our ceremony) leading into the cocktail area and for us our venetian hour and after party areas as well. It's these important factors that make for a great evening. From the minute we arrived that day , to the moment we walked out that night, the two owners were present and attentive the entire time. The warmth that we felt could not duplicated in all the places we have ever been. We couldn't thank each and every one of them any more than we did. I recommend the South Gate Manor to anyone who wants to get exactly what they are told they will get. The only surprise is the fact that you could never believe it could be that amazing. Our guests could not stop raving about the amount of food we had at our wedding! From the raw bar to the comfort station to the hot pretzels and milkshakes, Matt and Chris are willing to customize your menu to make your vision come to life. Working with Matt and Chris was such an awesome experience. We felt like we were working with friends who truly wanted to make our wedding day perfect. They went above and beyond for us and we can never thank them enough. The bridal attendants, Jen and Bobby are absolutely incredible! They are by your side all night long and are there for ANYTHING you may need. Our guests are still raving about the service they received at our wedding. The wait staff was constantly refilling drinks for the guests before they could even ask. The entire night went so smoothly all thanks to the staff at South Gate. We highly recommend SGM to all couples looking for an unforgettable wedding reception!

the night. Everyone raved about that wedding for months afterwards. Needless to say, we were interested in this venue for our wedding. At first we didn't think we were able to afford it, but Matt offered us rates we couldn't refuse. He and Chris were very helpful throughout the booking process. We engaged in many calls leading up to the wedding where we talked about everything, such as vendors, payments, food and drinks, scheduling, etc. They have lots of experience with weddings, so they proved to be very helpful with the process. And they only host one event at a time. Everything went very well on the day of our wedding. Just like the wedding we attended last year, the food for ours was delicious. The venue and lighting was stunning. Most importantly, all of our guests shared how attentive the staff was. Unlike most halls, the servers took everyone's orders at the time of and asked how they want their meals cooked (most venues I've experienced don't ask you how you want your steak or fish cooked). On top of that, they took down everyone's preferred drink of choice, and kept serving refills when they were getting low. This saved many trips to the bar, and was such great customer service that none of us expected. Overall, it was a great time. The food is delicious, venue is beautiful, dance floor is huge, and the price is right.

On our wedding night, South Gate had everything handled - we didn't have to worry about a thing. We received so many compliments from our guests so we couldn't be happier! re 5 different dinner options. I have never seen that before. The whole staff was super attentive to my wife and I, our wedding party, and our guests. Matt and Chris the owners are awesome and very helpful with the whole process. We did photos beforehand and we did it on site there of how nice it is there. And I'm not sure if this is protocol there but I noticed the staff helped out the videographer and photographer a few times. It is definitely worth booking an appointment and seeing what it is all about.

Bobby the maitre-d is wonderful, he made sure every little thing went perfect (and took care of the few seating hiccups and shuttle issue we had - which was no fault of the venue), and his knowledge and experience is apparent. Lisette, the bridal attendant was so sweet and was there whenever I needed her. Our parents can’t stop talking about how well taken care of they were as well. The wait staff is highly trained and on top of their game. The guests had more than enough to eat from the minute they walked into cocktail our until their last dessert. Everyone enjoyed the food, from the tripe at cocktail hour, the multiple courses, the sorbet in little cones and even the asparagus! We want to recommend South Gate to everyone we know who is planning a wedding so we can come back and enjoy it as guests! The night flew by and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect night!

Endless compliments on our centerpieces, chuppah, and so many other personalized touches. She was so much fun to work with and so attentive throughout the whole process. We have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. Anything we asked for they were able to work with us on and give us the wedding of a lifetime. We are so grateful we were able to go with South Gate for the happiest day of our lives.

He was on his hands and knees pinning the bustle of my dress when someone stepped on it, making sure we always had a drink or food in our hand, finding whatever guest we might have wanted to say hi to, and doing all of these things so discreetly that we didn't even see him. Amazing cannot even begin to describe his work and demeanor - he carried an umbrella over my head while holding my dress outside the venue when we were taking pictures in the rain. We immediately felt like we've known him for years within the first two minutes of meeting him. Five stars are not enough to express how amazing this venue and staff was!! I would highly recommend it to anyone!!!!

They were organized, attentive and on top of every aspect of the entire event. There was not one thing I had to worry about. girls and I arrived at the venue at 8am to bagels, coffee, tea, orange juice, fresh fruit, and champagne. David was there to help us and told me he'd be working with us all day. He was nothing short of AMAZING. He was there for me and had everything we asked for from tums to scissors and crazy glue. As the day went on we were also introduced to Bobby who was also AMAZING. David and Bobby did everything for me-- from tying the bows on the shoes, to holding my dress while I was walking, to carrying my bouquet for me, to changing my shoes for me, getting us food during cocktail hour, endless supplies of drinks, providing comedy relief, helping calm me down when I got nervous, and showing us our reception room before our guests entered so we could take it all in and making sure that everything was exactly how we wanted it. The bridal party returned from pictures and guests were already there, so David and Bobby even took the time to take me to a top secret entrance way so that none of my guests would see me before the ceremony began. The food was amazing, the service was more than amazing, and South Gate Manor knows how to put on a flawless wedding. Even our guests couldn't believe how much food there was and how amazing the service was. Everyone working at this venue knows what they're doing and are the best in the business. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend South Gate to everyone I know. Every bride and groom deserves a David and a Bobby for their big day and a venue like South Gate Manor to make them feel like royalty! Gate manor was easy and professional. Chris was always there to answer my many questions and the flower arrangements Stephanie created for both our bridal party and the center pieces were better than I could have dreamed of. We just got home from our honeymoon today and have been flooded with compliments on the quality of the food and the amount of food available to our guests. Drinks were flowing all night long and even with our 239 guest there was never a wait for one. The band sounded amazing and the dance floor was packed the entire night with enough room for everyone to fit comfortably. The bridal suite was filled with food and drinks for our party when we got there so we could enjoy food before going down to mingle with our guest. I honestly could go on and on about about how special the staff made us feel. Bobby and Jennifer took the most amazing care of us and our bridal party all day ( a group of about 32) they were professional, friendly and really went above and beyond to make our day unforgettable ! We are recommending South Gate to everyone we know !

Its been a few weeks since our September 3rd wedding and our guests are still raving about how great the food was and how helpful the staff was. They went over and above taking care of our every need. Their service was one of the most memorable parts of the wedding. They went over and above for my husband and I. They fixed and safety pinned the bustle on my dress 3 times and ever had a benadryl and glass of water in my hand within 60 seconds of saying that i was breaking out on my cheek. They made us feel like family and worked with us to plan surprises and our very unique entrances. The room was beautiful, the food was beyond delicious, the Venetian hour was mind blowing, and our wedding cake was hands down the most delicious thing served. well. We had a wonderful experience from the beginning of booking our wedding to the very end. Prior to the wedding, I left a bunch of items that needed to be put out for our wedding; favors, table arrangements, sign in book, etc. The staff, especially Chris, Bobby and Jennifer, did a fantastic job putting everything in the best place that it would be seen by our guests. Upon arriving to the SGM for our wedding, we were greeted by our matre'd, Bobby, and the bridal attendant, Jennifer. They were phenomenal! The night moved so perfectly due to their professionalism and expertise at their job. In addition, they were always an arm's distance away preparing my husband and I for the next step of the night. Also, Jennifer was always on hand with my favorite drink ready to go. Together they worked to bustle my dress, which was not easy! At one point in the evening, my husband and I went outside to take a photograph in the rain. As soon as we stepped back into the SGM, both Bobby and Jennifer were waiting with towels for us to dry us off in order to get us right back into the party. My husband and I couldn't have asked for a better night that was so perfect and it was due to the staff at the SGM. We are hoping that other friends get married there soon so that we can go to a wedding as guests! Some feedback we heard from friends were: The cocktail hour was amazing! The clams were to die for! The food was absolutely delicious! I was so full from the cocktail hour, that I didn't eat my entire meal! The bathroom attendee helped all of us pregnant people out all night! He made sure we got to the bathroom safely! The ambiance at the venue was beautiful! The staff was so nice and friendly! The ballroom was beautiful and so full of life!

From start to finish they were so easy to work with and so very flexible and could not do enough to make sure our event was perfect. And they did not nickel and dime me as we went through the process. We were invited to a food tasting and this experience was truly representative of all the different foods that were served on the actual day. 10/25/14 arrived and we were treated royally by Bobby the matre de and the entire staff. We chose to have the ceremony inside and the setup was beautiful. The cocktail hour followed and this was freakin amazing! The food was absolutely delicious and the variety of choices was great. We were also able to have guests on the rear veranda which was great. Thank you Chris for my vodka luge which was a big hit!! The main ballroom was fabulous with plenty of dance floor and the five choices for the main meal were all delicious per my feedback from our guests. Yes we had the grand Venetian hour and this was spectacular and our guests were blown away when we offered them containers to take something home for the ride. We had a man rolling cigars on the rear veranda and the weather was nice enough to enjoy a smoke and a cognac on the couches outside. Absolutely perfect!! The best part of the evening was the experience of working with the Marino brothers and not having to deal with a "corporation". Chris and Matt made sure we had nothing to worry about and created the perfect moment for our daughter and son in law. I would certainly recommend this venue to future brides and their families knowing they are in good hands for a most memorable event. My only regret is that I did not find the time to taste all of the offerings at the cocktail hour as I was being the hostess with the mostest and greeting all our guests. Maybe I will have an opportunity in the future to be invited to a wedding when I can truly taste the amazing food. Thank you to the Marino family and all of the people who are involved in creating this magical moment. The service was impeccable and our guests will be talking about this for many years! Our ceremony was beautiful and everything was well organized. All of my vendors had a great experience at SGM. The cocktail hour was amazing and they had seats for everyone!! Guests were able to go outside if they would like and had access to top shelf alcohol. The reception was perfect, beautiful, and amazing!!! I can't wait to go to a wedding as a guest so I can enjoy SGM in a different way. : )

an average cocktail hour extended throughout the night. They were more than willing to help us create a menu and schedule that met our every desire. They asked over and over if there were any special requests we had and were sure to have those met. The preparation process was seamless, we never had to track anyone down or ask questions...they were always a step ahead. Everything the day of was flawless. The amount of food was endless and overly abundant. The cocktail hour, reception and venetian hour FAR exceeded our expectations and the service was INCREDIBLE, no one there could do enough for us and our guests. When we asked for an unheard of shot on a whim, they went to the store to get the ingredients to make it..over and over again! Jennifer and Bobby were PHENOMENAL. From the second we walked in the door, they were ten steps ahead with every little detail. They were beyond organized and had supplies on hand for anything we could have needed. My dress was bustled, my veil was fixed and taken off, my hair was fixed, they had food and drinks continuously heading our way. Everything was set up and cleaned up beautifully and went home in the same condition it was delivered. All of our guests have told us repeatedly that it was the best wedding they have been to and we have received calls asking for the information to pass along to other engaged couples. Search no more SGM is the PERFECT place to have your wedding! We want to crash weddings there regularly! I can go on for days, but I just reached the limit. From the second we walked off our limo bus they were by our side helping us with bags, and making sure we had everything we needed and wanted. They always made sure my husband and I had a drink in our hands, which was amazing. They really made us feel like rock stars for the night. We would recommend this venue to anyone. The staff provided you with everything you needed. You really cannot get a better venue. DEFINITELY book your wedding here!! You will not be disappointed.

with seating galore. There is an outdoor garden area with a water feature & additional lounge furniture. My Maitre'D was Bobby & my Attendant was Jennifer - both were next to my husband and I all night, if not in view of us to make sure we had everything we needed. They helped us so we knew what to do during different parts of the reception. We have only had great comments from our guests. Most said that it was the best wedding they had ever been to!! The only snafu was the cake - this had nothing to do with SGM since I went to their baker & ordered it. Unfortunately the baker's owner left for vacation right after we met with her & her staff must have missed all her notes. Even though they didn't decorate it correctly or do the inside (sponge & filling) correctly - it was very good. SGM owners & Bobby where on top of the situation when I noticed the cake issue. They rectified it by offering us to use a 6' tall cake (which ended up being fake) for our cake cutting ceremony. This cake was over the top gorgeous - I was eyeing it up the night before when we dropped our baskets/favors off. I worked with Matthew Marino & sometimes his brother Chris when selecting our choices. This is a family run business & they know what they are doing. I highly recommend SGM for your wedding or event.

challenge. When we first met with Matt, he gave us the impression that if we had our wedding at SGM everything would be taken care of and we wouldn't need to worry. Our wedding was small (100 people) but we were assured that we would still receive their full attention. Unfortunately, that did not turn out to be completely true. Issue #1 During our meeting, Matt told us that they were working on a contract with a local hotel to provide free shuttle service to & from the venue. He assured us that this would be in place by the time of our wedding (about a year later). We called several times over the following months and asked what hotel they had contracted &were always told it had not been settled yet. About 4 months prior to our wedding, I called & was told that the Radisson was where I should book rooms. When I called the Radisson I was informed that they did not provide a free shuttle. I was rather upset about this because we had been promised free transportation by SGM & led to believe for months that it was being handled. Several calls were exchanged between Chris, Matt, my finace, and myself. At first we were told we misunderstood (repeatedly) & then finally they accepted responsibility & offered to pay for a shuttle. Chris told me not to worry & that it was handled. But it wasn't. On the day of our wedding no shuttle arrived at the hotel, which left our guests, including a visually impaired family member, stranded at the hotel! When this was brought to my husband's attention the night of the wedding and he spoke to Matt, he (Matt) told my husband there wasn't a shuttle because we failed to remind them at the tasting. We were never told to remind them and had been told that it was taken care of by Chris! My husband was very upset at how unprofessional Matt's response was. They did get a shuttle there at the end of the night to take our guests home. Issue 2 Staff was dismissive & even rude on the phone (specifically the father). It was so bad that after a while I refused to call them because I felt so disrespected. Once when I called to ask how many guest could sit comfortably at a table, he laughed & said that it wasn't his job to do my seating chart. Issue 3 We had been told that we could arrive "first thing in the morning" by Matt. So I hired hair & makeup to come to the venue & work on us in the bridal suite. When I told Matt we would arrive at 9, he said it would be $500 extra to arrive before 11! When this was questioned, Matt told us I should go to a salon rather than bringing people in. Eventually, Chris waived that fee & let us arrive at 9. Issue 4 It is pricey, we paid 175 pp on a sunday! Pro 1-The building & grounds are absolutely beautiful. Pro2-The staff that worked with us on our wedding day, Jennifer and Bobby were absolutely amazing! They made our day wonderful (shuttle issues aside). Pro 3-Food was delicious! If we were getting married again I am not sure if we would choose SGM as our venue. We felt annoyed by being repeatedly told not to worry about things or that things were taken care of, and then finding out that they were not. They have every detail down and they do it to perfection. The day of my wedding my dress broke. The amazing maitre d’ fixed my entire dress, front and back and bustled it. There are no words to describe how grateful I am. I was actually completely calm about it because the staff there was so wonderful. Not only was the staff wonderful to us, but they were wonderful to every guest at our wedding. So many of our friends and family have told us how great the staff, service and food were. Bobby, the maitre d', and Jennifer, the bridal attendant, were helping me throughout the night and they are really amazing. South Gate Manor is the perfect place to have your wedding!!!! Thank you South Gate Manor for giving us the best day of our life!!!! We are forever grateful and we can’t wait to come again in July/2012 as guests for our friends wedding! South Gate is the BEST!

uring the wedding. We had a large event, over 200 people and everyone is still raving about them weeks later! The service and food was second to none! My husband and I did not lift a finger the entire night and were never out of a drink or food, or rushed to do anything. The person assigned to me and my family, Bobby, was the best, felt like we have known him forever and he did everything for us! The Marino brothers were a tremendous help along with the rest of their staff! The Venetian hour was like a picture out of a movie, the cocktail hour as well, and for that matter all the courses inbetween. My husband and I could not have chosen a better place! We would recommend this venue a thousand times!

I picked this place because I wanted no carpert or hardwood floors, wanted something modern and elegant!! The website does it no justice, go look at the place. The Marino's made you feel like family! They rock!!

The food is delicious - the cocktail hour was unbeatable and at dinner, our guests had a choice of 5 entrees. The owners were easy to work with and they catered to our preferences and ideas. During the wedding, our maitre d Bobby was amazing as well! He did whatever we needed him to do and he was always there to help our bridal party, our parents and us. The South Gate Manor is beautiful as well! We could not have been happier with our experience with the staff there. Our wedding was amazing and a large part of that is attributed to the South Gate Manor.

oes a great job. I was very nervous the day of the wedding as the bride usually is, but I didn't have to worry about a thing. The lady in waiting and the Matre de made sure everything went smoothly. I didn't have to use my brain at all. My wish was there command and I felt like a queen for the day. My guests are still talking about the wedding and said it was the best wedding they have every been to. They say that the food and the service was excellent!
