South Gate Manor

We were at a wedding over Thanksgiving weekend and it was spectacular! The venue was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and everything was tastefully done. The staff was impeccable and anticipated your every move. The food, from the elaborate cocktail hour, the delicious main course - make sure to get the risotto, as it's the best I have ever eaten, right through to the stunning Venetian hour, was wonderful. This is the second wedding I attended at Southgate, and you truly couldn't ask for anything more from your venue!

Our daughter and son-in-law were married on Saturday, October 21, 2023, and South Gate Manor exceeded our expectations! Everyone there is professional to a fault; providing not only great service, but care and reassurance as well; one of the many benefits of working with a family-owned business. We experienced at SGM the best of both worlds: personal service which has an old-world charm feel (to me, as it's rare these days!) in a beautiful and elegant place. The outdoor ceremony space is so lovely, and I really loved that we didn't have to walk on or sit in chairs on grass, and guests could also be on the balcony which overlooks the ceremony space. There is an indoor ceremony option that would have been perfect as well. We wanted a place that hosts one event at a time and felt fortunate to find one that was spacious but not too big. There were 170 guests at our wedding, and although they can accommodate more than that, it did not feel too big. The flow of guests from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception was very smooth; actually, the entire event was seamless, due to the skills of all the people who work there! Time to name names... Matthew and Christopher were easy to work with, so calm and nice and made life for easy for us! They provide lots of value for the price at SGM: food, drinks, personnel are very high quality; ceremony space, cake, valet parking, bridal suite and groom's lounge included, entire place is beautiful. Having Lisette as Lily's bridal attendant was a gift; she is so excellent at what she does, not only accommodated but often anticipated our needs. She made sure we were nourished and hydrated! And always kind and pleasant and calm. Lisette is even better than all the reviews said! We were so very fortunate to have David as our maître d'! He is excellent at what he does and quite amazing; aware of everything going on and made sure we all knew where to be and what to do when. He answered our many questions patiently - most of which were needless as he was on top of everything - and was always kind and reassuring. David definitely made sure the wedding ran smoothly, so many friends and family have commented to us about how well organized everything was! There are many people whose names we don't know, but to whom we are also grateful as they all helped make Lily and Christian's wedding perfect, like the greeter, servers, cooks, valets and cleaners - and whoever packed everything up for us to pick up the next morning! hope I'm not leaving anyone out! Pretty much every review we read about the food at SGM was glowing, and there too, SGM exceeded our expectations. Guests have not stopped talking about the food, not only about the quantity, but the taste and quality! We knew from attending a tasting that the food was great, but it was even better on the wedding day! Hats off and a big thank you to the chef and kitchen staff, it meant so much to see our loved ones enjoying the food so much! Lastly, even the vendors Lily and Christian hired were happy, saying the people at SGM were easy to work with and treated them well. Obviously, we highly recommend this venue! Maureen and Lorin

Our June wedding at South Gate Manor was absolutely amazing, thanks to their outstanding staff. Right from our initial meeting with Chris, we felt we were in great hands. Chris and Matt were incredibly helpful in the lead-up to our big day, ensuring everything was just as we envisioned. On the wedding day, Lisette, Bobby, and David provided us with the best attention and care we could have asked for. Their expertise was so exceptional that my worries about needing a day-of coordinator were completely unnecessary. Our guests are still raving about our wedding, calling it the best they've ever attended, and praising the delicious food. The entire experience was so incredible; we wish we could do it all over again!

Hands down the best venue in NJ! I can't even find one small complaint or issue I had on my wedding day. Everything was absolutely perfect. The staff and both owners Chris and Matt were the best and really made our day the most perfect day! I would recommend this venue to any Bride and Groom looking for a venue that truly takes the time to make every wedding they host the most amazing day ever!

Hello. I had my wedding at South Gate Manor on February 19th, 2023. I can not tell you enough good things about this venue. From the time of booking to the final days leading up to the wedding they made sure everything was exactly how my husband & I wanted it. The food was absolutely incredible!! The owners are wonderful & so easy to work with. The staff went above & beyond all night. I truly can not say no bad thing about this venue. 1000000/10 recommend.

This review is based solely off of an email interaction I had with Matthew. I sent in a request on their website for more information and informed them that we are expecting a smaller wedding. Instead of explaining that their minimums are typically higher and giving those numbers, I was brushed off and told simply and shortly that they “do not conduct weddings of that size.” Apparently my inquiry wasn’t even worth his time to send any information or pdfs, whatsoever. Now, even if we were to have a larger wedding, I would never even begin to consider this venue.

South Gate Manor was beyond perfect. David and Lisette were beyond incredible and were there for whatever we needed. I did not expect a Maitre d and a bridal attendant to do as much as they did two small examples David put napkins on every inch of my dress for the risk of getting dirty and Lisette helped pin my dress when the bustle broke. The bridal and grooms suite was incredible and we were served food while waiting for the ceremony to start. Matt was always willing to answer my emails and talk over the phone. Both Matt and Chris were attentive and available during the wedding which is another positive of a one wedding a day. Everyone could not stop raving about SGM, especially the food, and there were no complaints. My husband and I hope to attend a wedding at SGM just to experience the guest side of it! We will forever be grateful we chose SGM for our special day.

South Gate Manor was the perfect wedding venue for our wedding. From our first meeting with Matthew, one of the owners, we knew that working with them would be a great experience. Matthew and Chris, both brothers who own the business, guided us through the entire process. They were very receptive and answered all of my questions in a very timely manner. The food was top notch and there was PLENTY of it. (perfect for my Italian side of the family) We did an hour and 1/2 cocktail hour, full dinner, and full Venetian hour...it was fantastic. Both Matt and Chris were present during the wedding, walking around, checking in on everyone, the staff, us, our parents etc. Our Matri D and Bridal Attendant, Bobby and Lizette, were absolutely FANTASTIC. I have never seen two people work so hard who really enjoy what they do and just made the night relaxing and fun. They literally got us whatever we needed and made sure we were taken care of. The venue only does one wedding a day... a huge plus for us! We were the only couple and party they were focused on the entire time and we had their undivided attention. The ballroom is massive. We had 237 people, but it didn't feel crowded or cramped at all because of the massive space, which we loved! I hate not having enough space that you cant walk around tables or have to squeeze through! The bridal suite was amazing, they had food and drinks ready for the bridal party when we arrived and the grounds are pretty to take pictures in their outdoor garden area. I could not recommend South Gate Manor enough! The overall atmosphere, fantastic food, owners, staff and food made our wedding unforgettable.

The South Gate Manor was the perfect wedding venue for us! Matthew, Chris, and their team did an incredible job of making sure everything went smoothly. I especially love that they only host one wedding a day. Bobby and David were attentive and took care of anything and everything we needed throughout the night. We truly felt like the belles of the ball! The food was as good as I’d hoped (they gave me and my groom all 5 dinner options… and leftovers!!!), the ballroom was stunning, and their years and years of experience in the business was evident. We received endless compliments from guests about the excellent service and tasty food, not to mention the impressive cocktail and Venetian hours. Thank you for everything! It was the best day!

South Gate manor was amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a better venue to work with. Matt, Chris and the whole team was incredible to work with. Chris and Matt, from the moment we stepped into the venue 10 months before our wedding day, treated us as family. The attention to detail, the ease of availability to reach them, the genuine care and concern for every detail of our day, was unmatched! The weeks leading up to our wedding were overwhelming but Chris eased my stress immensely and was available to answer any question or concern I had. The day of the wedding was absolute perfection and it is 100% due to the staff. The bridal attendants were unbelievable, Bobby the maitre d had our every need and want at the forefront of his mind all day. Chris and Matt, being the owners, were there from start to finish. You know an owner takes pride in his business when he’s seen emptying the trash in the bathroom at the end of the night. You don’t see that everyday. The food was UNBELIEVABLE. From start to finish, the guests felt like they were at an incredible restaurant. Unreal! South Gate manor exceeded our expectations and we will forever be grateful for the love and incredible experience they created for us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!

I cannot even express how grateful we are to the entire SGM staff! We finally had our dream wedding after years of postponements due to Covid. Matthew and Chris have been so accommodating and so easy to work with through the entire process and always available to answer any and all questions. We chose SGM after meeting with Matt and seeing all of the different ways we can make Our wedding what WE wanted. The entire night was flawless. Everyone was so helpful and it was completely stress free thanks to Bobby and Lissette. Everyone is still talking about how beautiful the venue is, the amazing food and how professional everyone was. So many of our guests said it was the best wedding they ever attended and we couldn’t agree more! We can’t wait to come back as guests 😊 Our night was everything we wanted and more and we cannot recommend SGM enough!

There are no real words that can describe how special they made our big day! Everyone was amazing and made the whole planning process so stress free. When I tell people we had NO stress from wedding planning they dont believe me! But the South Gate Manor was amazing from start to finish. The day of everything went smoothly thanks to Bobby & Lizette. They were so fun, calming, and organized and the perfect additions to have by our side and everything was amazing. Our guests were raving about the food, how beautiful the venue was, and how exceptional the service was. Matt and Chris were always available and knowledgeable during the planning process and Stephanie did an amazing job with bringing our flower design vision to life.

Above and beyond! I have struggled to write this because there are no words that truly capture how perfect the South Gate Manor and the staff are. Everything from the service, to the food, the venue, and the entire planning process was everything we could have asked for and more. Matt and Chris truly love and take pride in what they do and will make sure that your wedding day is beyond magical. The entire staff, especially Bobby and Lizette, were amazing and made us feel like royalty on our wedding day. Matt was so amazing to work with and plan our wedding. As a bride and groom with dietary restrictions he made sure we had plenty of options on our wedding day, and as simple and silly as it sounds, we are so grateful to be able to eat at our own wedding! The venue is absolutely beautiful and our guest could not get over the cocktail hour and the food. If I could host every event for the rest of my life at South Gate Manor, I would. If you want a stunning venue, with amazing food, service, and the all around best night of your life, look no further.

Our recent wedding at South Gate Manor was FLAWLESS. My only regret is that it went so fast and I didn't get to do/try everything. We first met Chris & Matt in 2018 and we stopped our venue search at that. Unfortunately, Covid-19 forced us all the way into November 2021. That did not stop us from having the wedding that everyone is calling the best wedding they ever attended. From food to drinks, service, and everything in between; SGM promised us the best and they delivered. We cannot write a review without mentioning staff, Bobby, David, and Lissette who are professionals in the wedding arena. They eased our worries and kept us having fun from morning to night. A must have wedding venue! We wish we could do it all again.

I can’t say enough great things about SGM. We booked SGM almost a year and a half before our wedding and Matt was so helpful throughout the whole process. We loved the family run business, the food was outstanding, and our entire wedding was an absolute dream. Bobby (Maître De) and David (bridal attendant) were absolutely incredible- they knew what we wanted before we even thought about it. Our guests were amazed with the entire night and are still raving about it! The entire process and wedding day was so stress free because of everyone at South Gate Manor. It’s a family run, close knit group of individuals that strive to take the best care of you and it definitely shows. Oh and most importantly, the food is amazing!!! Love love LOVED our venue!!! Matt and Chris and the entire staff were so accommodating as we made many changes to our wedding day due to COVID even up until the day before. From Cocktail hour to dessert, the food was AMAZING!!!! Our wedding was in July and are still raving about the food! They were so accommodating as my brother and cousin have severe nut allergies and ensured me no cross-contamination and gave me all the information I needed to have my brother and cousin feel safe. We did a mini venetian hour & that was amazing!!! The venue is gorgeous with amazing places for pictures. I also got ready there with my bridal party and they provided us with breakfast and lunch which was amazing. My bridal attendant Lissette was so attentive to us which was great. Bobby was our Mater Dei and had our wedding go soo smoothly- he anticipated everything beforehand and if not for him I would have gone crazy! I could not recommend a venue anymore!!!

Where do I even begin!! Matthew and Chris are literally AMAZING to work with! SGM was the first venue we looked at over three years ago and after leaving our meeting with Matthew, my husband and I knew this was where we wanted to get married. Due to COVID we had to push out our wedding and they were so great and accommodating. Well, we just had our wedding this past weekend and it was worth the wait! Everything was absolutely perfect and our dream wedding was brought to life. Just when I thought things couldn't get better, when I stepped off the party bus, I was greeted by Bobby our Maitre De and David our bridal attendant. There are not enough words to express how amazing they were, seriously the BEST!!! Matthew, Chris, Bobby and David were a dream team! The food, not only are people saying, a week later, we had the best cocktail hour, but continue to say it was best dinner and dessert they ever had. Everything was absolutely delicious!! I'm hoping to get invited to a wedding at SGM so I can eat the food again! Everyone can't stop talking about our wedding and how fun it was. I can't thank the South Gate Manor Staff enough for everything they have done for my husband and I. I want to back to 9/12/21 and relive that day again!

If I could give one million stars I would in a heartbeat! From the beginning Chris and Matthew Marino were absolutely wonderful. So quick to answer questions and so enthusiastic to make our day memorable. Like many, we had to move our wedding three times due to covid. Chris and Matthew were always ready to reassure us that our day will be beautiful and truly worked with us. Frank, my husband and I finally had our day yesterday and it was a dream come true. Bobby the Maitre de and Lisette my Bridal Attendant were an absolute dream team and took care of whatever we needed. Shout out to Bobby for helping with a pasta stain on my dress. I can never thank them enough for their incredible work and compassion during the saga that was wedding planning during a pandemic.

Bobby, Lissette, and David were phenomenal. They catered to our every need making our wedding exceed our expectations. Due to their warm personalities, there was nothing we had to worry about because we knew that we were in great hands. South-Gate itself is a well oiled machine that creates flawless wedding and has enchanting greenery and ballroom. We cant thank the staff enough for an amazing wedding.

I don’t even know where to begin! Our wedding day was AMAZING because of this venue. They truly treat you like royalty all day. We were assigned two bridal attendants, Lisette and David, who were so wonderful. They were there to make sure we had food and drinks all day and night and anything else we needed. Lisette followed us around during pictures to hold my train and bouquet when moving to different locations. We didn’t have to go to the bar once the entire night, we were handed a drink any time we finished one. Bobby was our maitre d and we absolutely adored him. He ran the entire wedding and I don’t know how we would have done it without him. He got the whole bridal party together to rehearse for the ceremony while my husband and I were taking photos. He was there by our side all day and night for whatever we needed. He was on his hands and knees on the dance floor bustling my dress when it fell out during the night. When we went back the next day to pick up our decorations, they all were there helping us pack our car and to say bye with hugs. We were actually so sad our wedding was over and felt like they were all our friends! They were all so kind, personable, and there for us on such an important day. We are dying for someone we know to get married here so we can go again. I could go on and on, but don’t hesitate— book them!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Our wedding was 6/19/21 we chose SGM and we definitely made the best decision! Every time someone asked where we booked and told them SGM, the first response was wait until you see how much food! They were 100% correct. The food was never ending cocktail hour had everything you could dream of the entrees were beyond words the Venetian hour was beyond unbelievable! They had everything and I mean everything you could think of including a BREAKFAST BAR! Not only was the food out of this work but Chris was the man! He worked with us and our budget. He is easy to work work and trust for such a special day! I couldn’t have asked for better! Not only was Chris amazing but the staff was beyond our wildest dreams everyone! Bobby was beyond words amazing with everyone but he never let us need anything! Every time I turned around there he was. We were treated like royalty we wanted for nothing. Neither did my parents! Everything we hoped for and so so much more! Thank you everyone at South Gate for making our day so easy and special. You truly make a bride feel like a queen thank you. Even though it’s not enough thank you!

This venue is AMAZING!!! I will recommend to everyone over and over! We just had our wedding here last Friday and I’m dying to be a guest of a wedding here one day! The service, staff, environment, food, EVERYTHING is amazing and TOP NOTCH! Matt and Chris really go above and beyond. Our guest had the best time here, as did we! They keep raving about the service, food, the spaciousness, and the wedding cake! They literally made my husband and I wedding day a dream come true. The place is immaculate - we booked here over a year and a half ago and every time we came something was updated, improved, or new. Bobby and David, the bridal attendant and Matre de were literally dedicated to me the entire night, they were there 24-7 to assist us- I’ve never seen such service in my life. My guests asked for something and it was delivered to them in seconds. I love South Gate Manor and hope to be a guest there again soon, because they’re truly the best !! I’ve heard such horror stories about some venues and so blessed to have had an experience of a lifetime here!

When it came to finding a venue for my wedding, I went to two other places before going to Southgate, but I already knew before my first meeting, they would be my choice based on the amazing referrals I had already received from others. We booked our wedding during our first meeting with Chris, he was attentive, so easy to talk to and ready to deliver. The venue spoke for itself, beautiful, elegant, “one wedding at a time”. Needless to say we were super excited and then a pandemic hit! To make a long review short, I was truly one of the lucky ones, my wedding happened and we owe so much of that to Chris! He truly delivered on everything he promised and gave me my dream wedding! Let’s talk food, word of advise, order your clothes a size bigger if you’re going to Southgate, because you are going to eat and you are going to eat GOOD! We got married here on 12.18.2020 aka Pandemic wedding and The South Gate Manor Family was so accommodating and easy to work with even during a time of restrictions! They were attentive and helped plan everything down to the last detail! Chris and Matt were awesome to work with during the planning process and our Maître D Bobby was so fantastic the entire night!! My bridal attendant David was a literal angel and was fantastic to have by my side the entire day! My husband and I have received so many compliments saying it was the best wedding people have ever been to and absolutely rave about the food! Recommend beyond words!

An absolutely amazing experience! From the beginning, Matthew was clear, informative and attentive to any questions we had. Anytime we had a question or sought advice, we received a prompt response. Our wedding day was better than I dreamed it could be. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that my only job for the day was to enjoy my wedding. David was a wonderful bridal attendant and took care of any details I had, while our Maitre D' Chris was fantastic at keeping everything moving and on point. They also made sure I ate -- I didn't want to be a bride who didn't eat! Every staff member helped make our wedding memorable, and I felt like I was living a First Class life for a day. Our guests raved about the venue and the food, and we're still receiving compliments about it. Chris took so much time to help us with all the details, and helped us to coordinate renting out lounge furniture, floors, and drapery. Best Wedding People Have Ever Been TOO If I could give SGM 10 stars I would. My brother had his prom at this venue and said to me when he came home you need to have your wedding there. A year later I was engaged and we looked at this venue and fell in love. We looked at a lot of venues and nothing compared to South Gate Manor. This is family run and amazing. We were told before and after we booked our wedding there by people "best wedding I've ever been, too" "phenomenal food" "great service" from all ages. And that is what we got for our wedding. My husband and I were so impressed. Our day was perfect and anytime we turned around we had the staff at our sides with food, drinks, bouquets, and whatever else we needed. I was too full by the time dinner came and I eat a lot. They fed my husband and I very well. Exceptional staff - (Bobby (Maitre D) & Lizette & David (our bridal attendants). Thank you Matthew, Christopher, and Stephanie (M2 Floral & Event Design) for making our day perfect.

South Gate Manor was the perfect venue for our wedding! Chris and the entire staff were extremely professional and wonderful to work with. A year later, and our guests are still raving about the cocktail hour, food, and excellent service. Bobby was absolutely amazing to us. He made sure everything was organized and ran smoothly. 5/5/19 best day ever! The staff at Southgate Manor was absolutely AMAZING! From the moment we walked in and met Chris and Matt we were blown away! The entire wedding planning experience was amazing with them! So easy to work with and Accommodating every step of the way! The hall itself is breathtaking , and the FOOD to DIE for ! The cocktail hour the dinner the VENETIAN! My phone has been going off for days with great reviews about it! Everysingle person that works at southgate made our day so amazing, not one complaint. Bridal attendants were on point and didnt leave our sides, our bartenders, waiters coatcheck valet everysingle person! Chris ran the show that night not only as the owner but as the Maitre D and he was amazing. His staff told us all night what great people the Marino's are to work for and that was so great to hear because it truly showed! My husband and my wedding at South Gate Manor was amazing! Everything from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception was a dream come true! The staff was extremely attentive to the needs of not only my husband and I, but our bridesmaids, groomsmen and both sets of parents! Everything transitioned smoothly, and we got many amazing compliments from our guests! The food was delicious, and the dessert stations were a big hit with everyone! The one thing I was not so pleased with was the amount of time that passed between answering emails with questions we had. My husband and I booked and started planning with South Gate with a little over a year to our big day, and the questions we had thought of shortly after booking seemed to take a long time to get an answer to. Both my husband and I had to send multiple repeat emails before we finally got some answers - at one point they even had to ask us when our wedding date was! However, once we got closer to the big day the communication did improve and every concern was handled promptly. Overall, we were very pleased with how everything turned out, and would do it all again with South Gate! =)

My husband and I have nothing but praises for South Gate Manor. South Gate Manor was the first wedding venue we visited and the last. We knew after our first visit it was our venue. A big selling point was that they only do one wedding at a time. This was amazing because the detail and attention they gave us was unbelievable. Chris, Matt, and Stephanie were more than accommodating and helped us every step of the way to make our wedding vision come true. We have guests constantly texting us telling us how perfect our night was and how amazing all their food was. To top of the day out Maitre D and Bridal attendants were angels. From bustling my dress, organizing family, and making sure my husband and I always had a drink in our hands. Thank you to the staff at South Gate Manor for giving us the wedding of our dreams.

Joseph and I got married on November 10, 2018, Chris, Matt, Bobby (maître’d), Jennifer (the bridal attendant) and the rest of the Southgate Manor staff were absolutely amazing. SouthGate Manor was the first and only venue we visited because the moment we walked in we knew it was the place we wanted to get married. From the moment we walked in last September, Chris Marino treated us like family and royalty and that continued through to our wedding and even afterwards. Their level of professionalism and attention is top notch. Both Chris and Matt were in attendance on the day/night of our wedding, which was amazing and made us feel so special. Bobby was incredible, and a bustle genius. He is very professional but also very down to earth which made it easy to get along with him. Before we could even ask for something, Bobby already had it on the way or already there for us. Jennifer, well she was an angel sent from above. She was my right hand and helped me with everything and anything, even after the wedding was over and her duties to me ended – she helped me change out of my wedding dress. We cannot say enough amazing things about Chris, Matt and the rest of the team. The food was awesome from cocktail hour to the Venetian hour. All our guests raved how amazing and delicious the food was and how attentive the staff was through the night. The next day and even today, we are still getting phone calls, and text messages from guests telling us how great the venue is, how good the food was and how excellent the service was at SGM. We’ve even had guests ask us to throw another party there! It was truly a magical night and we cannot be any happier with our choice in our wedding venue. Thank you so much for making our wedding perfect and be more than what we ever expected, and dreamed of.

South Gate Manor truly made our wedding day absolutely perfect with their professionalism and personalization to our wants!! Chris made us feel so comfortable from start to finish! Out of the 10+ Wedding halls we looked at, South Gate Manor surpassed them all with its elegant look, ballroom, outdoor area, cocktail room and bridal/groom suites and bang for your buck! We loved that they only have 1 wedding at a time and had no concern about most of our guests having a seat during the cocktail hour. We had our ceremony at SGM and they were more than accommodating for all of our needs. The staff including our bridal attendant and Maitre D were available and by our side the entire day from hours before the ceremony and until the very end of our night!! The wait staff was unbelievable as well!! The food from the cocktail hour was unforgettable, especially the fresh mozzarella station!! The options for dinner were abundant and each meal was fantastic. The Venetian hour was beyond incredible with an enormous amount of choices. Family and friends are still raving about how amazing the food was from start to finish and how well the wedding went overall!! The bacon egg and cheeses to go were a huge hit and a delightful end to our happily ever after!! If you want a wedding that really wows your guests, go to south gate manor . It was the first and only venue i looked at. I knew immediately at one of their bridal shows this is where i wanted to have my reception. The place is just straight up gorgeous there is no other word. the entire family is so attentive and understanding and will work with you to make sure you have your literal dream day. The food is off the charts and your guests get FIVE choices for dinner which is unheard of. I really cant say enough about south gate. I highly recommend this to any bride in the tri-state area .

I, truly, do not know where to begin with our review. We have been to many affairs over many years, and was over-the-top impressed this past weekend with the wedding of our daughter at the South Gate Manor. There are many things to consider when reviewing a venue. From the first meeting with Chris, we felt relaxed that all our concerns would be addressed. He was honest and helpful with suggestions based on his years of experience in a family run business, and helpful with other vendors we booked. We booked this venue strictly because we knew the food (which was a top priority), would be amazing; and it was elegant, intimate and warm all at the same time. We anticipated great things, and were pleasantly impressed through the planning process with all the cooperation and help to give our daughter the wedding of her dreams. With all that being said, we never expected to be overwhelmed with all of these extras. The staff from greeter to waiter to waitress to server had all bent over backwards for every single guest. They went over and above necessary to make sure that everyone was satisfied. Unlike many matre'ds we had met in the past, Bobby, worked every minute making sure every aspect of the evening went as planned. Jennifer and the other attendants were just that, attentive. The staff's concern was for us to enjoy and for them to work to make that happen. We had never experienced this to that degree. What an amazing experience. Owners and brothers, Chris and Matthew spent the evening walking around making sure every detail was top notch. This truly is a family atmosphere; a staff working together to make something great happen. The South Gate Manor is getting back to basics with what makes a great affair--excellent food, exceptional service, a beautiful ballroom, an outdoor area (where we had our ceremony) leading into the cocktail area and for us our venetian hour and after party areas as well. It's these important factors that make for a great evening. From the minute we arrived that day , to the moment we walked out that night, the two owners were present and attentive the entire time. The warmth that we felt could not duplicated in all the places we have ever been. We couldn't thank each and every one of them any more than we did. I recommend the South Gate Manor to anyone who wants to get exactly what they are told they will get. The only surprise is the fact that you could never believe it could be that amazing. My husband and I just had our wedding at the SGM. Many of our guests have reached out to tell us that it was one of the best weddings they'd ever gone to! The food is wonderful and the ballroom and cocktail hour room are beautiful. The maitre d' and bridal attendant were wonderful and so helpful on the day of our wedding. We are so happy we chose SGM as our venue! Also, we used Stephanie Marino, SGM's preferred florist (M2 Floral and Event Design). She worked so hard on our wedding florals and made sure they were set up perfectly at our church and in the ballroom.

I really don’t know where to begin with this review... Our wedding at South Gate Manor was above and beyond anything we ever could have dreamed of! The only was to describe the day was perfect. Chris, Matthew, Bobby, Stephanie (for flowers!) and the rest of the team are just amazing! The venue is beautiful, the service is exceptional, and everyone raved about the food! I am not even sure where to begin. We are BEYOND thrilled with our wedding at South Gate Manor. From the moment we booked the venue until the very end of our reception everyone there was amazing. Chris and Matthew were extremely helpful and accommodating leading up to the wedding, answer all of my MANY bridal questions. They were even both there on the night of, which was FANTASTIC. Bobby the Maitre'd was INCREDIBLE. I cannot say enough wonderful things about him and his team. From the moment we arrived at the venue for pictures, he made us feel like royalty. No detail was too small and no part of the night was forgotten or not planned to perfection. The food was OUT OF THIS WORLD. The cocktail hour, many courses during the reception, and dessert were raved about by all of our guests. So many people throughout the night and days after were telling us what great service they received from every South Gate employee. It was truly a magical night and we cannot be any happier with our choice in Wedding Venue. Our wedding was at the South Gate Manor on 7/14/2018. SGM is a gorgeous venue with high ceilings, marble floors, a beautiful main lobby with a piano, a stunning outdoor area, and a grand staircase that makes for amazing pictures. Aside from the beauty of the venue, the food is absolutely amazing and plentiful! There are so many different options you can choose for your cocktail hour, dinner, and venetian hour. Our guests could not stop raving about the amount of food we had at our wedding! From the raw bar to the comfort station to the hot pretzels and milkshakes, Matt and Chris are willing to customize your menu to make your vision come to life. Working with Matt and Chris was such an awesome experience. We felt like we were working with friends who truly wanted to make our wedding day perfect. They went above and beyond for us and we can never thank them enough. The bridal attendants, Jen and Bobby are absolutely incredible! They are by your side all night long and are there for ANYTHING you may need. Our guests are still raving about the service they received at our wedding. The wait staff was constantly refilling drinks for the guests before they could even ask. The entire night went so smoothly all thanks to the staff at South Gate. We highly recommend SGM to all couples looking for an unforgettable wedding reception!

We've attended a wedding at South Gate Manor in spring of 2017 which was an absolute blast. The hall is big and beautiful. The food for the happy hour and entree courses was delicious. And of course the Venetian hour was the perfect way to end the night. Everyone raved about that wedding for months afterwards. Needless to say, we were interested in this venue for our wedding. At first we didn't think we were able to afford it, but Matt offered us rates we couldn't refuse. He and Chris were very helpful throughout the booking process. We engaged in many calls leading up to the wedding where we talked about everything, such as vendors, payments, food and drinks, scheduling, etc. They have lots of experience with weddings, so they proved to be very helpful with the process. And they only host one event at a time. Everything went very well on the day of our wedding. Just like the wedding we attended last year, the food for ours was delicious. The venue and lighting was stunning. Most importantly, all of our guests shared how attentive the staff was. Unlike most halls, the servers took everyone's orders at the time of and asked how they want their meals cooked (most venues I've experienced don't ask you how you want your steak or fish cooked). On top of that, they took down everyone's preferred drink of choice, and kept serving refills when they were getting low. This saved many trips to the bar, and was such great customer service that none of us expected. Overall, it was a great time. The food is delicious, venue is beautiful, dance floor is huge, and the price is right.

Where do I begin? We just had our wedding at SGM last night and I am still on cloud 9. This place is unbelievable. They totally exceeded my expectations in every way. I have been getting calls and texts all day long about the food, the incredible service, and everyone saying this is the best wedding they’ve ever been to. The venetian hour! Oh my god the venetian hour! We were BLOWN away. My guests can’t stop talking about it. No one has ever seen ANYTHING like that!!!! Last but not least...Bobby and Jennifer. They are truly outstanding and there are no words to justify how unbelievable they really are..you just have to experience it. Anything we wanted or needed they made it happen. They were always right there next to us, they became our best friends for the night!! We literally felt like family. I am so happy we chose SGM for our wedding venue because I have never been so happy in my life. It was perfect in every single way imaginable. Amazing!! I have nothing but great things to say about South Gate Manor - they were so helpful from start to finish! I fell in love with the cocktail hour room and once we saw the ballroom, we were sold. Chris was great and very responsive whenever we had questions. My husband is in the army so when I didn't have answers right away or was indecisive, Chris was very understanding. On our wedding night, South Gate had everything handled - we didn't have to worry about a thing. We received so many compliments from our guests so we couldn't be happier! Highly recommend South Gate Manor as a wedding venue.

We had my daughters wedding at South Gate Manor. Top notch all the way. The food was fantastic and the service impeccable. Thank you Chris, Matt & SGM staff for making it a most memorable occasion.

My wife and I got married here in October. Every aspect was outstanding. It is beautiful on the inside and out. We didn't really need to add anything to the venue for decorations. The food was amazing and there is a ton to choose from. There are 5 different dinner options. I have never seen that before. The whole staff was super attentive to my wife and I, our wedding party, and our guests. Matt and Chris the owners are awesome and very helpful with the whole process. We did photos beforehand and we did it on site there of how nice it is there. And I'm not sure if this is protocol there but I noticed the staff helped out the videographer and photographer a few times. It is definitely worth booking an appointment and seeing what it is all about.

South Gate Manor put on a wedding better than we could have ever imagined. We worked mainly with Matthew and then Chris closer to our day, and any requests we made were met far beyond our expectations. Our guests have complimented us multiple times on how beautiful the venue is, how amazing and plentiful the food was, and just what an amazing time they had. The cocktail hour room is spectacular, the outside space is gorgeous for pictures and the ballroom is so spacious, 234 guests sat comfortably without backing their chairs into each other. Bobby the maitre-d is wonderful, he made sure every little thing went perfect (and took care of the few seating hiccups and shuttle issue we had - which was no fault of the venue), and his knowledge and experience is apparent. Lisette, the bridal attendant was so sweet and was there whenever I needed her. Our parents can’t stop talking about how well taken care of they were as well. The wait staff is highly trained and on top of their game. The guests had more than enough to eat from the minute they walked into cocktail our until their last dessert. Everyone enjoyed the food, from the tripe at cocktail hour, the multiple courses, the sorbet in little cones and even the asparagus! We want to recommend South Gate to everyone we know who is planning a wedding so we can come back and enjoy it as guests! The night flew by and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect night!

My husband and I just had our wedding here on Saturday. The day was better than I ever could have imagined! They are affordable, but going to a wedding there, you would never think it! Top of the line food and service from everyone including Matthew and Chris, Bobby (maitre d) and Lisette (bridal attendant). They answered all of my questions leading up to the wedding, and kept us calm throughout our entire day. We always had food and drinks at our table, and they set up a beautiful spread for us after the ceremony so my new husband and I can relax and just be together. I am so happy we had our wedding at South Gate. They went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations!

My Fiancé and I had been to over 15 vendors when we started wedding planning. We were recommended by my brother who knew the family from his job. We came to the venue and we were wowed. The place was beautiful, the food options sounded amazing and Matthew was willing to help make all my dreams come true!
