South Hills Country Club

I had my August 2nd wedding at South Hills Country Club and have only positive remarks to say. Alex and his staff were professional at all times, and were also knowledgeable and personable. I appreciate Alex's attentiveness with replies to emails and phone calls, he was always helpful in answering any questions I had, and truly knew the ins and outs of South Hills. We had our ceremony outside in front the rose garden which was a gorgeous setting, as the roses were perfectly in bloom and the arch was all green. My girls and I got ready in the women's locker room which was PLENTY of space including showers, changing rooms, restrooms and of course the photogenic lockers themselves. We were able to order food and drinks down there the day of my wedding too, and the server who helped us was very kind and sweet. The gentlemen got ready upstairs in the Bob Cope room, a large room with a TV and near the bar (could they ask for more?) The dining room is gorgeous. Has tall ceilings with exposed rafters, gorgeous chandeliers and wonderfully comfortable fabric chairs (not super keen on those uncomfortable standard wedding chairs). The bar was beautiful and the large arched windows provided breath taking views of the golf course and made a really pretty setting for the head table. They have a picturesque lobby and entry way which provided a great setting for photos. The food was amazing. It was not a stereotypical country club meal, I received plenty of compliments from guests on both food and drinks. And my husband was extremely impressed by this as well. We tried out a few other places food and were a bit disappointed in their lack of creative dishes as well as taste. Candice was also extremely helpful through my planning process. She was also knowledgeable and you could tell has the experience in wedding events. I appreciate her knowledge of the venue and her suggestions of space planning so the room was comfortable and you could move easily through out. I would have my wedding at South Hills over and over again. The overall price for what you're getting is great and the professional staff made South Hills really stand out.

I just got married here in August, 2013. I cannot say enough great things about my experience from beginning to end. Candace Allen is who my family and I worked with the entire time and she was so on top of everything. Every question/phone call/email was answered within 24 hours, most of the time within an hour. She was as helpful as possible throughout the entire process and very flexible. We truly felt that the Country Club cared about what we wanted and did everything in their power to make sure we were happy and satisfied with the service. We received detailed information about everything we were being provided that day, and every single thing was done as promised. While the girls and I were preparing in the locker room (which is huge and perfect to get ready in) on the wedding day at 7:30 a.m. (wedding was at 5), at least every hour someone from the food/bar area came in to check on us to make sure we didn't need more water, coffee, food etc. The venue was gorgeous!! The reception area has huge windows that overlook the golf course and the bar is beautiful. The ceremony was done on the grass near the big fountain that looks out onto the 1st hole. If I had to do it all over again I would choose this venue 10 times over. As an added bonus, compared to the many other places I looked, the price was right, and the food was great!

South Hills Country Club was a hidden gem for us that did not show up on any of my initial venue searches. We have friends who are members so we decided to stop in. We fell in love with the venue instantly. We used the ballroom for a delicious sit down dinner and dancing. We originally planned to hold cocktail hour on the outside, downstairs patio, however it rained on our wedding day. The staff was very accommodating and we were able to move the cocktail hour to a covered, heated patio area. Candice was my main contact and she made herself readily available to answer questions throughout the process. She helped set up everything on the wedding day and it turned out exactly how we wanted. The food was delicious. The one drawback is that the event time is limited to five hours and additional time can be purchased for a hefty fee.

Once we arrived at the reception, it was stress free. Alex was very helpful and the venue looked beautiful.
