My wedding was in December of 2013, and I'd hired Bridget for her mid-level package. I planned most of the stuff with her advice, guidance and suggestions, and she executed EVERYTHING on the wedding day. I met her at a Bridal Expo in Houma and liked that she was so warm and friendly. I deal with mental health issues, and I am prone to anxiety attacks and everything that comes along with that, and I knew that I wanted someone with experience and tact to handle to un-pleasantries that come along with wedding planning.
She accompanied me to several vendor appointments, we had numerous meetings at my house, and Bridget always made sure we accomplished what we needed to accomplish in each meeting, even if it was just discussing issues and not yet finding a solution. She kept me on track with everything that needed to be done- deadlines and such-, and if there was an unpleasant phone call or issue that needed to be tackled, Bridget handled those things for me. Aside from getting married, hiring Bridget was the best wedding decision that I made, hands down.
On the day of my wedding, she had my previously discussed instructions and wishes along with all of the labeled supplies, and on the day of my wedding, not I nor anyone in my family or the wedding party had to decorate for that night. Bridget and her husband took care of all of that. They also packed everything up at the end of the night and set it up for us to just walk in a grab the next morning. So that meant that after the wedding, everyone in the wedding party could continue with the celebration and not have to worry about packing up decorations. That alone was an enormous weight off all our shoulders and was worth every dollar. She happily accommodated all of my personal preferences and neuroses and always calmed me down if I needed that. My wedding day would have been nothing but stress if I hadn't hired her.
The reasons that I gave her 4 out of 5 stars and not the full 5 are minimal. I found that she didn't have a huge catalog of vendor recommendations, but I attribute that to her to not having been in the business for very long. That list will grow as her career grows.
The other reason is that at my wedding, there were a few snafus. The dj ended up playing all kinds of music that wasn't on the playlist that I had given him explicit directions for, and it happened over and over again throughout the night. There were many times that I was on the dance floor and a song would come on that I didn't know, and that is unacceptable for me. Yes, my dj was a POS, and I know Bridget didn't have total control over him, but it was a snafu that we encountered. Also, for our first look, I was running behind, and I had Bridget tell the photographer (who was with the groom) that news. I found out later that somehow that news didn't make it to my groom, and he was standing alone, apart from his groomsmen, in the designated spot waiting for me for about an hour. It wasn't a huge deal, but still, my groom was standing in the dark alone waiting for me for an hour when he could have been taking photos with his groomsmen. Now, my photographer is an even bigger POS than the dj, so I'm sure they were slacking on so many things that day, so I don't know exactly where this mess-up occurred, but it did occur.
If I was planning the same event again tomorrow, I would absolutely without a doubt hire Bridget again. She is fabulous and, most importantly, worth it!
