Choosing Southern Exposure Gardens for our wedding venue was the best decision we could have made! Our guests were so impressed with it's beautiful grounds, the flowers and the gardens are stunning and make it impossible to take a bad picture. We could not have asked for a better experience, the staff was amazing and made our day better than we ever could have asked for. They took care of every detail from start to finish and kept the events flowing perfectly, making the day stress free and allowing us to really enjoy it. They were also so great about responding via email or text with any questions we had regarding our wedding even months in advance. We cannot thank everyone at Southern Exposure enough for making our wedding day the best day of our lives. We can't wait to visit in the future!
We could not have chosen a more perfect venue for our September wedding than Southern Exposure. The owners are incredibly kind and the new coordinator, Dakota, did such an amazing job helping organize our event and keep us on track! I have a health condition that made the day tricky for me and everyone was great at making sure I had everything I could’ve needed to stay hydrated and fed. You can tell they’re experienced at what they do but they also had flexibility and ideas to help us make the day uniquely ours. Our guests LOVED the food, the DJ team played great music, and the owner Ken officiated a beautiful ceremony for us. They even provided gorgeous table settings and decorated the fountains on the grounds with flowers from the gardens and all we had to do was show up and get ourselves ready! If you’re looking for an all-inclusive venue where you and your guests will be taken care of like family, Southern Exposure is the place for you.
Misuk is the locations wedding coordinator at South Exposure(SE). She is very capable and knowledgeable on how to do things. Tell her what you want and need and she will make it happen. The place is so beautiful on its own you need minimal decor. I brought my own centerpieces but Southern Exposure does provide them too. They provide DJ onsite and I would say he was ok. Feedback from guests and my wedding party told my husband and I that he was average. It does cost to bring own DJ. The food there is really yummy. Good options, but quite expensive per person since its very simple in my opinion. SE allowed us to bring donuts for our own donut wall and candy and nuts for a candy table. Misuk and her team set everything you envisioned into place. You really won't be allowed to lift a finger other than to allow your hubby to put a ring on it, which is pretty great since it's already pretty intense to prepare for the big day. You get to take a look at the setting of everything before getting ready for the day- since Misuk and her team prepare the whole tent and ceremony early in the morning. The bridal quarters are a bit cramped considering its the bigger room for your wedding party o get ready in. The guys room is smaller. I think they could take some of the bulky furniture away and it would make for some room to move a group of 5 girls plus bride and visitors. My husband said he felt a bit cramped with all the guys but they were able to get ready easily enough. The ceremony is also coordinated easily enough. Just fill in the music sheet and what you NEED to do is contact Misuk for all the people dealing with music. Send the music list to both parties just in case. Just 2 weeks before my wedding one of the music people emailed me saying they didn't get the music I needed. It says to send the music to South Exposure and they will give the music to who needs it, but they didn't forward it and thankfully one of them reached out to me., otherwise we would not have had any of the ceremony music we wanted. The team working with SE on site are courteous and helped our guests with what they needed. Woman were coming up to me saying they wanted to get married all over again and do it at SE. It was so lovely to have such an ease free day- considering how stressed other woman are on their day.
Everything was absolutely perfect and stress free!
Our wedding day was perfect. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and had their needs met! I can't say enough good things about this place, the food is delicious, staff friendly, and atmosphere beautiful. Thank you for everything!
Seriously the best place! It was way more than we could've asked for. I want to relive my wedding over and over again! Words cannot describe that day/night.
My experience at Southern Exposure was amazing. Everything was perfect and they did everything for me. There were no worries and nothing to stress about they day of. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. I highly recommend this venue to everyone.
The staff and site are beautiful and amazing. They truly are organized and thoughtful on every last detail. They covered food, alcohol, music and set up clean up so it was nice to to be juggling with several different people. Loved the simplicity of the day for me. Very stress free!
I had my wedding here in May 2015 and it was like a fairytale. The buildings and grounds are so beautiful and unlike what you will find anywhere else. The wedding coordinator did a great job of organizing everything so I could enjoy the day. The cost of the site includes dinner, drinks, music, and decor so there is a lot less work you need to do on your own. It was rainy off and on they day of our wedding, and they had a beautiful backup location ready if needed. I would have my ceremony again here in a heartbeat!
I had my wedding here in June 2014 it was one of the most beautiful places I've seen. When you (the bride & bridesmaids) first arrive they give you a large beautiful room to get ready in and they draw all the curtains for privacy they even saved the day with safety pins when one of my bridesmaids dress kept sagging.
The ceremony went of without a hitch they schedule a morning rehearsal and my maid of honor had to work and they explained everything to her the day of. At first the food looks overpriced, we got the cheapest thing on the menu which was the chicken for 24.00 per plate but it comes with a salad, role, veggie, and potato no one complained they were hungry. The only negative things were the DJ and the decoration I brought. The DJ was very nice and knowledgeable about the schedule of events for our wedding, he followed our criteria of songs listed, however the interim songs chosen did not fit our musical genre. Also I bought some green toole to put alongside the purple the wedding coordinator already had, I only found out that she didn't decorate with it on our way to the reception. If given the chance I would do it all over again the two mishaps were really overlooked by everyone and we had the time of our lives!
Beautiful grounds, staff went above and beyond to make tour wedding day perfect!! Food was very good, we had many complements how beautiful our day was!! :)
I want to start by saying that I am not having my wedding here, but I have looked at it twice now and am stunned there are so few reviews online. I love love love the venue and the people, but unfortunately, it is out of my budget. I want to warn all other potential brides that once you see this garden and the bridal quarters, no other site will match it!! They have stunning grounds for a wedding ceremony, a back up tent, and a great reception area. They do everything for you (center pieces, dj, coordinating, decorating etc) and Mi Suk is the consultant who handles literally everything. It is really a great idea if you are out of the area like I am, but on the other hand, that is partially why it can get pricey. The quote is done on a per person basis, but it does not include the food. We were looking at around 68-70/person with food, but there are no pricing changes for kids, Sundays, or if you want to provide your own DJ. I am a grad student and we have a list of about 150 people, so 70/person or kid is just too high :(. If you have a smaller list, like even 120, this might be more of an option. Again, I wish I could have used this venue and Mi Suk seems really great at what she does and is worth talking to about your day!
The staff at Southern Exposure really made my wedding day special. I did not have to lift a finger and all of my guests raved about the waiters, chef, and coordinators. I was planning the wedding while in school and living several hours away, but Mi Suk took care of absolutely everything! I was the first grandchild to get married, and my grandpa doesn't know how anyone else will be able to top my wedding!
All aspects of the grounds are breathtaking. This surpassed all of my expectations and it was so convenient to have practically everything included in the price.
Absolutely beautiful venue!! Everything from the food to the service was wonderful. The complimentary wedding planner takes care of everything, so you do not need to worry about anything. My only complaint was that the menues I had made for the reception had an extra appetizer on them, which I thought people would never notice and the wedding planner took it upon herself to add that appetizer to our actual menu without talking to myself or my husband, so getting a surprised bill at the end of the night was not ideal and very unprofessional of the wedding planner. Also, the wedding planner said she would bring champaign/drinks to the wedding party while we were getting ready at the venue (we were there for four hours before the ceremony) and we never saw her until I was getting ready to walk down the aisle.
Southern Exposure made my dreams come true. Their staff was fantastic and made sure that everything I wanted happened. Everything went PERFECT. There were no hitches. There food is wonderful as well. It is like going to a 5 star restaurant. My guests have been raving about it ever since.
I was already familiar with Southern Exposure from attending some of their events they have in the fall and winter and always said I wanted to get married there. Every old farm building on the site is decorated so beautifully and the grounds are to die for with all of the blooms. The staff always treats everyone so warmly. We held our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception on the beautiful grounds. They took care of a lot of things and ran the wedding day events like clockwork. Many guests said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to! It was absolutely everything I dreamed of for my wedding day!
I am very pleased with the way everything turned out, it looked amazing! It's not only a place to have it but, it's pretty much already decorated, you meet with a wedding coordinator, there is already a DJ, and they have really good food. Everything was really great! Just make sure you are clear with your ideas to the wedding coordinator and don't let her talk you out of it. We went with the super premium drinks and it wasn't worth it, it was suppose to be top of the line all you can drink and they didn't even have some of the popular liquors. We also payed gratuity and they still had a tip jar for the bartender who we got a lot of complaints about, didn't smile and was very rude even to me (the bride) I thought that was tacky. Also they will tell you they will pack your things, thinking you don't have to worry about it, well you do because they didn't even pack my bouquet and the wedding coordinator assumed I didn't need my own decorations back. I would have my wedding there again I would have just not let the wedding coordinator try to manipulate me like she did, would have given the DJ more music, have them use a different bartender, packed my own things at the end of the night, and wouldn't do the super premium drinks.
the place is just naturally beautiful and they top it off with great personalized service. they include a wedding planner, ceremony and reception, catering, decoration (no need to buy extra flowers!) and DJ. it is clear they know what they are doing. the only negative was the DJ.
The staff is wonderful! A stress free day thanks to them!!!
We chose this venue strictly on convenience and could not have asked for anything better. Not only is the staff amazing, everyone right down to the owners is involved in making your day a complete success. We used the location for both our Ceremony and Reception. The grounds there are beautiful if you’re looking for something outdoors. And they have a solid back up plan in case the weather does not cooperate (we however got lucky and did not have to use that option). The reception is also outdoors under a massive tent and beautifully decorated. They handle EVERYTHING there (if you want them too). I make a board to pin my place cards, created simple table markers and brought some tool. They put everything up and made it look wonderful I honestly did not have to worry about a thing the day of the wedding. I could not have been happier. We kept things small and only ended up with just over 90 people but I really don’t think we could have done any better for the price we paid. They handle the catering and their food is fantastic in both presentation and taste. They have their own chef onsite and she’s amazing. They even have their own DJ (though you can bring in your own) but he did a great job and we were happy with stuck with that (it’s literally part of the package). Everyone kept commenting on how beautiful everything was and how it must have cost a fortune BUT IT DID NOT!! I would recommend for anyone in the area to go with this venue; and if you’re coming in from out of town, even more so. Their wedding coordinator Mi Suk is terrific and will ensure that everything is absolutely perfect for your day. Looking back you can tell the service we received was not an exception but the rule to which they operate. They also have really need themed dinners and activities throughout the year so you can also check them out before you let them know you’re interested in having your wedding there. That’s how we accidentally found them. Otherwise we would have never known about it seeing as how they are tucked away amidst farmland.
The only downfall would be size. If you’re planning on 150+ people made sure you let them know up front because they definitely have a max near there, probably not more than 200.
