f service, the same flavors, etc. Tru Cakes did do a decent job communicating with me in the days leading up to the wedding. It was the day of that left me disappointed. When my wedding cake arrived, it was crooked. It was not sitting not the stand perfectly upright. Tru Cakes refused to fix it so thankfully my wedding planner did what she could to remedy the issue and shift the cake around from different angles. For my grooms cake, I had arranged for them to make fondant version of our dogs to sit on top of the cake. The cake was almost perfect except for the dogs being labeled with the wrong names - i.e. their collars were switched. I asked them to fix it. Originally they refused. Again, thankfully my wedding planner was awesome and came up with a quick, simple solution so Tru Cakes could fix their mistake. After my honeymoon, I reached out to Tru Cakes as advised by my wedding planner. I did not receive any compensation for their mistakes and to be honest received a very rude email back. The cakes tasted great and were pretty but due to the poor customer service, I would not recommend Tru Cakes to anyone.

ur guests got good cake. That's where the positives end, unfortunately. Here's what ultimately happened: Our wedding date was originally for May 2020. We had a contract with Sprinkles, the previous bakery. Like many weddings, Covid led us to postpone until May 7, 2022. In that time, Sprinkles was bought out by Tru~Cakes. We were having a destination wedding so we drove from Miami to Orlando for a second cake tasting and to meet the new owners. Even after emailing them, the flavors we asked to try for the tasting were wrong. They went into the back and made some fresh flavors to try, it happens. They were very confident that they weren't like other bakers and were able to supply a cake was delicious as much as it was beautiful, difficult but not impossible. We wanted the top tier for our anniversary and additionally, we ordered popcorn for all our guests as favors. They then said "we don't offer this service to just anyone but we love you guys and we want to offer our concierge cake cutting service! We'll even make sampler plates for your guests to try all your flavors." We figured, "Hey, it's our wedding day, we'll never order a cake like this for ourselves again, plus our guests have been waiting over 2 years to celebrate with us, let's make it special." Two days before the wedding, we dropped by for one last meeting. We were excited to keep the top tier for our anniversary, and they agreed with us. The day of wedding: -they were an hour and 15 minutes late -they didn't call or text us to inform us that they were running late -when my coordinator called, they denied providing a measurable ETA -upon arrival and throughout the night, they were frazzled installing the cake. Some guests who arrived early to help in the setup even noticed. -they were short on the popcorn order -they (two days later) admitted to putting the wrong cake in one of our tiers -the third flavor we chose was missing a key ingredient -they cut and served our top tier because they admitted that they never wrote down that they were supposed to keep the top tier (which isn't true, I saw Martha write it down at the tasting) -one of the popcorn flavors were wrong -they told me in the middle of my wedding night that Julie felt sick and they were just going to deliver the cake and not serve it, and by the time I had resolved it with the venue they agreed to cut it, so I lost 10-15 of my wedding unnecessarily stressing out and solving problems -none of this was properly communicated at the end of the night -and since they cut the top tier, we took home two boxes of cakes that went to waste After a talk on the phone, they accepted responsibility, offered to make us three cakes, which we denied because our guests were already gone. The wedding was over. It was a missed opportunity on their part, and I can't get my time back either. They agreed to a 50% refund on the entire order. The cake as a whole looked beautiful. They've been in the industry for decades so I expected more from them. We worked hard on preventing this type of thing from happening at our wedding. Unfortunately this was the case for us with Tru~Cakes. If you still want to work with them for your special event, good luck!

both companies the same day to make our decision. We had high hopes for the other baker, but when we tasted their cake, the buttercream had a heavy film and the actual cake was dry at best. We were also given a smaller selection of cakes and frosting. When we turned to Sprinkles, our hopes had been dimmed as we thought that perhaps all wedding cakes were simply all show and no flavor. Sprinkles changed our minds. They had a wide selection of cake mixes and frostings for us to mix-and-match and even included a sheet with popular combinations on it. They even included an extra tasting plate for my mother when they asked who would be doing the tasting with us at home. Everything was divine! The owner makes fresh, home-made amaretto for the fillings and frosting. We had such a difficult time deciding on flavors since they were all so delicious and fresh. When we decided on a two-tier cake and got down to pricing, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that this beautiful, gold-foil cake was over $100 less than the other less savory baker we had tried. Additionally, our purchase also includes a free anniversary cake a year from our wedding day! Everything from Sprinkles was spectacular from their customer service to the gorgeous presentation the day of. Thank you Sprinkles!

I sent Richard 3 sample cake photos and he told me honestly what he could achieve and gave insight on how much cake we really needed based on our guest count. He asked detailed questions about my budget, overall vision, and planning was easy. Since we were planning our wedding during a pandemic, we were able to enjoy a cake tasting plate at home. This was fun for us and we could be totally honest about the flavors we liked. On the wedding day our cake was beautiful and tasted great. At weddings the cake can be hit or miss but our cake looked great and tasted great. Our family had leftovers the day after and were raving about the flavors. I can't wait to celebrate our 1 year anniversary for more cake from Sprinkles Custom Cakes. My husband wants more of the cake now 😋 so we may have to order a mini cake "just because". passion for what he does and that’s what made us confident in the decision to go with Sprinkles Custom Cakes, I was supposed to get married on 4/26/2020 but 3 weeks before the pandemic hit, and when I called sprinkles to reschedule and they were very, very accommodating, understanding and empathetic which meant a lot to us. Fast forward to our wedding day 4/18/21 . From the moment we did the room reveal and walked up to the cake display my mouth was to the floor, I was in complete awe on how beautiful the cake looked , from the details, to the design, to the flowers. Two of our three layers was a fan favorite, the Classic Vanilla Cake perfumed with Italian Amaretto. It was gobbled up completely on our wedding day, and we received so many compliments on how wonderful it tasted! We actually ordered a cake meant to feed 75 guests because we wanted leftover cake to take home afterward, but our party of 26 loved the cake so much that they ate the majority of it! The enthusiastic response from our guests is probably the highest compliment we can give to Sprinkles Custom Cakes! One of the reasons we selected this bakery, aside from the great reviews, is that we will receive a free tier for our first anniversary, so I guess it’s ok that we didn’t have any of the Amaretto cake left over to bring home! Also, Sprinkles uses their own vendor to provide any live floral for your cake décor, which saves a lot of time and money so you don’t need to involve your florist! We 100% recommend Sprinkles Custom Cakes for your wedding cake! Ours was delicious and wonderful and even more amazing than we ever could have imagined!
