Spruce Mountain Ranch was my dream venue from the start, and our experience on-site was nothing short of exceptional. My husband and I recently got married at the Upper Ranch. Ashlee and Tara were a pleasure to work with in the lead up. The team on-site helped us pivot to an indoor ceremony midday after some surprise rain. Majority of our attendees were from the east coast, and this venue truly gave them the Colorado wedding experience.

We had our wedding May 2nd, 2026 at the Lower Ranch at Spruce Mountain and it was a perfect day. The entire team at Spruce was wonderful to work with from the time of our first visit to the day of our wedding. Tara and her team were always very responsive and their list of vendors was top notch! The venue itself was phenomenal, and we were able to include our dog Charlie for the entire day which was one of our priorities when we were searching for a venue. The getting ready spaces for both the gentlemen and the ladies were so cozy and such fun spaces to get ready for the day. We were married at the mountainside ceremony sight and it was absolutely magical with the views of the valley and the mountains in the background. The cocktail hour space in the Colorado Room and surrounding yard space with the stream was cozy and worked perfectly for our 156 guests. The reception area at Albert’s lodge is simply stunning and gave us the vibe we were looking for, rustic yet elevated. We loved that the cocktail space and reception space both had the option of indoor/outdoor space for us and our guests to enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather. We heard from so many guests that it was the most beautiful wedding space they had ever been too. All in all, it was the perfect venue for the perfect day and if we had to do it all over again there is nowhere else we would rather have gotten married.

h weather. All of our out-of-town guests were absolutely enamoured with the views, and the evening was absolutely superb. We were at the upper ranch, and we would highly recommend it if it’s available for your wedding!
SMR made the process of preparing for our wedding seamless, and they were always happy to help with any questions we had. We did not have a wedding planner but did use a month-of coordinator (SMR requires at least day of coordination). SMR even had a staffing change when one of their senior staff members retired during our planning process, but they handled the transition seamlessly.
As far as wedding venues in Colorado go, I really think SMR will give you the most bang for your buck, so to speak. The staff and physical space were well worth the money we spent!
It was the greatest night of our lives, and we wouldn’t change a thing!

. Being able to have the fireplace on was also a huge plus. Spruce offered us the flexibly to have the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception inside. use their golf carts to get around the big space. Of course the price is pretty high, but such as the wedding industry. Emily was friendly throughout our tour and at open house events. I do not like how they allow guests to tour the venue while couples are having their wedding rehearsals in the morning- it feels pretty impersonal. Other than that, we loved our experience and none of those bad things outweigh the sheer beauty and professionalism of the ranch.

he Aspen room for inclement weather ended up being the perfect back up option with the garage door wedding when there was unexpected early snow. The ability to allow animals on site (beverage donkeys and our dog) made our day even more special. Our coordinator Brus had clear and timely communication and we appreciated her help throughout the process. We couldn't recommend this venue more for your wedding day. Our experience touring the venue a year and a half ago, coming back for the Wine & Nosh event, and doing our 30 day walk through all made the planning process so smooth and exciting for us and our families. The multiple ceremony locations are all gorgeous, and we were thrilled to be able to get married mountainside with the natural beauty of Colorado in the background. Our guests loved cocktail hour and the indoor/outdoor dinner & dancing set up. Spruce is truly a 5 star wedding venue because of its natural beauty and the organization/care the team takes in scoping out all the details, like 2 beautiful getting ready suites for the bridesmaids & groomsmen, shuttles to take guests up mountainside, and open air string lights for late night dancing. Spruce is also a popular spot that many of our vendors were familiar with, which made logistics even smoother since our bartenders, caterer, DJ, planner, and florist had all done multiple weddings at Spruce before and had great recommendations on what could work well with our vision.
We hope to come back for future events and are so happy to have gotten married at Spruce!

However I do have something I would "caution". When we originally did our tour we were a little hesitant due to the cost for one day. Our tour guide the day of I feel like mislead us a little bit regarding the costs outside just the venue. For example, this venue will ONLY let you use their approved list of vendors. When we finished the tour and were talking about their vendors we looked at bar and catering, our tour guide pulled up the bar and told us that if we did open bar with bottom shelf we would only be paying $,1,100-1,200....we ended up paying $1,900 for 52 guest. Same issue with catering, all of their caters START at $4,000 and we only had a guest count of 65-70 guest to start with, by them time we got final numbers in we paid about $4,800 but that's because our total dropped to 52 guest total. This was a buffet styler street taco bar, not a plated dinner.
They also will require you to have a licensed day of coordinator, and you have to get property insurance. (not a big deal and is pretty normal, the insurance is $250 if I remember correctly)
The service from the vendors and the venue was great, Tara was fantastic to work with and responded with 24 hours of reaching out, however keep your budget in mind because we paid $8,000 for day of (married on a Wednesday).

e that it is important for all couples to first consider their budget before moving forward not only with booking a venue, but planning a wedding in general. As stated in our Blog, “Your Engaged! Steps to planning your Spruce Mountain Wedding” https://sprucemountainevents.com/blog/post/your-engaged-steps-planning-your-spruce-mountain-wedding we recommend the first step in planning, is putting together your budget. We do our best to be completely transparent of the costs involved in planning a wedding, as many couples have never planned for such a large event.

In regards to vendors, we only require that you use 1 of our 11 caterers, Event Rents for your rentals, and Peak Beverage for your bar. This is to assure quality control for our clients. On our catering list, we have caterers that are well trained at our venue, have a proven track record, and treat our clients with the level of service we require. We have also made sure that we have caterers that will meet a low, mid, and high budget, to meet all of our client’s needs.
Peak Beverage is the least expensive option we have found in Colorado for bar services. Spruce Mountain does not mark up the costs and instead passes those savings to our clients. In comparison, Peak Beverage is almost ½ the cost of what a venue with a liquor license charges. We also love Peak Beverage because they provide a safe bar experience. They carry liability insurance for our clients and have highly trained bartenders that know not to overserve.
All other vendors such as florists, cake, DJ, photographers, and so on, we allow our clients to select who they would like, as long as they are licensed and insured. Spruce Mountain also works with each couple to customize vendor lists to best fit their budget and needs. We want every couple at Spruce Mountain to have their dream wedding and we are here to help support them throughout the entire planning process. Our motto at Spruce Mountain is delivering “service from the heart.”
To protect our clients, as many good venues will do, will require Event Insurance. Again, many couples do not understand the liability involved in hosting an event such as a wedding. We want to make sure our brides and grooms are protected in the event that one of their guests get hurt etc. The cost in minimal, but offers great protection for the host and hostess of an event.

e warmer months when we wanted to get married. We went with the lower ranch which felt like a dreamy, woodsy fairy land and it also felt intimate and flowed nicely for our guests. Something about the natural and cozy vibe of the venue made me feel so relaxed on my wedding day. Aside from the beauty of the venue, Spruce was very easy to work with. I sent our representative Tara tons of emails and questions throughout the year long planning process and she always responded so quickly and was helpful in problem solving. Our property manager Emily was also amazing on the day of. Spruce has a set list of caterers which were all so good it was hard to choose! We went with Occasions. Other vendors were: Indy Pop Photo, Lil Bug Floral, Karis Ranta for wedding planning, Peak Beverage, Diamond Empire Band, Arrow Stagelines, Forever Party Bus, Event Rents, Hipstr photobooth, and Kim J Beauty. All of our vendors had worked at Spruce previously and knew the lay of the land which made everything flow seamlessly on the day. We also rented the Estate House which is offered to Spruce Mountain couples and this was a great experience and so convenient and close by. I can’t imagine our wedding having been anywhere else and will forever relish in the memory of getting married on the most beautiful ranch in Colorado.

UNNING, but the staff is so friendly, available, and accommodating. They really do make the whole process feel special. On our wedding day, we received SO many compliments on our venue and how beautiful it was. The staff did an excellent job of helping out throughout the day, the venue was in perfect condition and we had the most magical day. Cannot recommend this venue enough!!

Absolutely worth everything. Our ceremony was at the mountain side and the reception was at Albert’s lodge. We booked 1.5 years in advance to get a June weekend, as It’s a popular ...
place and month. The staff was amazing and we didn’t have to lift a finger! We picked majority of the vendors that they work with, which made everything easier during the planning process. It’s a beautiful venue and we highly recommend it. We had the venue from 1pm to 11pm which is pretty standard. They provide you with a guidebook to help you with timeline, blue prints and everything you could possibly think of. We also enjoyed staying two nights at the estate house which is a mile up the road. It was great for the whole wedding party and some family to spend time together.

Spruce Mountain has amazing staff that is helpful right from the start outlining everything to know! From the first day I toured, I could tell that planning my wedding was going to be made so much easier by Spruce Mountain!
There are a a few limitations as far as vendors go, but this just made the planning easier!
All in all, 10/10 for Spruce Mountain!
Special Shout out to Emily who I worked with from my first walk through of the venue to my wedding night - she was the property manager on site!! I was so glad she was able to be there to see my vision come true with so much help from her!!!!

e. With that said, Spruce Mountain Ranch is our favorite! The staff and the venue are the best! The venue is in a gorgeous setting that is perfect for wedding photos. You get a destination wedding location without driving 3 hours into the mountains. The place is always immaculately clean and has always had everything functioning perfectly. The layout of the property allows both the upper and lower venues to have their own special ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception locations without the two different potential wedding parties on the ranch ever seeing or hearing each other. You get your own massive area to celebrate your day. Both the upper and lower venues are setup to incorporate indoor and outdoor spaces that flow together. If I was planning my daughter’s wedding, I would definitely try to grab the date at Spruce Mountain Ranch. I hope my personal experience playing hundreds of CO weddings can help encourage you to check out Spruce Mountain.

They are so good to all of their couples and have some of the most beautiful property that caters to so many different taste and aesthetics. I've had very elegant brides and very rustic brides that are all so happy with Spruce. Truly a quintessential Colorado Wedding Venue.

On our wedding day they were so on top of things and at the end of the night my parents were extremely impressed at how thoroughly and carefully they packed up the decor and other items we had brought to the venue that day. I would highly recommend Spruce Mountain to anyone looking for a mountain vibe venue that's easy to get to from Denver or Colorado Springs!

only is the venue absolutely breathtaking, but Tara and the staff are second-to-none! They will make sure you're taken care of and your day is perfect. We were planning on having our ceremony and cocktail hour outdoors, but due to the rain, we made some slight changes to the day. You would never know that was plan B, because the indoor space was gorgeous and the staff made it such a smooth transition. With the rolling foothills, stone fireplaces, and beautiful setting, we couldn't have asked for a better place to get married.
