This was an absolutely beautiful experience! Working with Colette and her team was an absolute pleasure. This was truly the wedding of our dreams.
We recently had our wedding at St. Louis Union Station, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The planning process was smooth, and the staff was always helpful and responsive to our questions and ideas. On the day of the wedding, the team went above and beyond to ensure everything ran perfectly. They were professional, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our day special.
The food was also a highlight—from the appetizers to the main course, the quality and presentation were excellent.
Overall, Union Station provided an incredible setting for our big day, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.
My husband and I got married at Union Station this past May. It was the most perfect and special day I could have imagined. The staff there truly care about creating a great experience for both you and your guests. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was excellent. And the atmosphere/views are absolutely stunning. I still have family and friends talking about the light show and how much fun they had. There are also other things to do in Union Station. Our reception was in the Grand Hall, but the other restaurants/aquarium etc were great. We had a lot of out of town guests so it was nice for them to make a weekend out of it and take their kids. We had our rehearsal dinner in one of the other event spaces which was also perfect and our welcome party at the Pitch and a breakfast/brunch Sunday morning at Union Station. It was so nice to have a central location for the weekend especially for our out of town guests. If you are looking for a venue in St Louis I cannot recommend Union Station enough.
Any questions?
My husband and I were extremely glad that we picked this venue for our wedding reception. The event staff was extremely responsive and helpful with all of our questions and needs throughout the entire planning process. The process itself was fun and easy, we were treated like VIPs throughout, including private tasting and light show. The staff was phenomenal day-of and we had many complements from our guests on the level of service they received. Overall, the reception could have not gone better and we had numerous guests tell us it was the best wedding reception we'd ever been to. We cannot recommend this venue enough!
Having my wedding at Union Station was a dream. It is truly a unique space that has everything right there on-site - I really appreciated that I didn't have to work with chair, lighting, or linen vendors. The staff members from our initial visit to the day of our wedding were friendly and helpful. Our venue coordinator, Abby Marler, was responsive and competent, guiding us through every step. I had every confidence that my wedding day would be executed as planned. For example, we had several dietary restrictions among our guests. Abby made suggestions for substitutes to work within our meal choices and even worked with the kitchen to provide gluten and dairy free desserts to our guests. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding. Most of our guests were from out of town and were so complementary of the venue. From the quality of the hotel to the wow-factor of the light show, it was an incredible experience. Thank you Union Station!
Talk about the ultimate wedding experience!! There is so much to do on site, so all of your out of town guests do not have to leave the premises. The event staff was easy to work with, super accommodating, and extremely helpful during the planning process. Having the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in the same place, made things so easy. We got endless compliments about how beautiful and unique the venue was. We were able to select a light show for our reception, which was a nice touch before opening the dance floor. Finally, the food was OUTSTANDING. We had so many compliments from "that was the best sea bass we have ever had" to "we felt like we were having a meal at a 5 star restaurant" and there were so many options to choose from for cocktail hour, and the reception dinner. Overall, we were so glad we picked St. Louis Union Station because of how unique it was, for the ease of having everything in one location, and how hard the staff worked to make sure our day was better than we imagined. CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS ENOUGH!
We got married in the Union Station Grand Hall in May 2024. The venue is beautiful and the team was great to work with. Our coordinator at the venue was Abby and she was very professional and great at communicating. She accommodated all of our requests and pulled some strings to get exactly what we wanted. Our day was perfect and went very smoothly! We did our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all at Union Station and everything was great.
The team was great to work with. Everything was beautiful and there were no major issues with anything all night.
It is handicap accessible
I can’t rave enough about the magical experience provided by the staff at Union Station for our daughter’s wedding. Abby Marler was wonderful to work with, very attentive and responsive. The food was delicious and the service was top notch. Our banquet captain was at our service all evening, attending to any need.
Our out of town guests were impressed by the beautiful Grand Hall and the entire wedding experience.
I got married on 12/2/2023 in the Grand Hall, and let me tell you - the experiene was magical. Abby Marler was a responsive and helpful coordinator, everything was perfect. I ended up hiring an outside wedding planner just for the day/week of the event, and that really helped supplement the coordination we needed so my family and could just relax and enjoy the festivities. Every person that entered the Grand Hall for our event was in awe of the beauty of the space - we hardly needed to bring any of our own decoration because the space itself was so beautifully decorated for the holiday season already.
The bridal suite was perfect, and having the hotel on site for out of town guests was just what we needed. I highly recommend Grand Hall to anyone.
As parents of the bride and the bride and groom out of state, Union Station could not have made things any easier - accommodating the couple's in-town schedule to go over details and enjoy tastings. They attended to our 50+ guests at the hotel and helped us show off St. Louis. They responded in a timely manner and assisted whenever needed. The Grand Ball Room was spectacular with the light show, dinner was spectacular and service was wonderful. Thank you!
The passion, professionalism, and work that Union Station puts into your big day being perfect is absolutely incredible! I could not have better things to say about a venue.
I’ve been dreaming of having my wedding reception at Union Station (US) for as long as I can remember. We toured 8+ venues in the St. Louis area and US was, as expected, the winner. While I knew what the venue could deliver (the beautiful built-in bar, the light show, easy access for guests, etc.), it was the people that went above and beyond, making it the wedding of our dreams. First and foremost, Ashley Flanagan is hands down one of the kindest, most professional, and thorough hospitality professionals I’ve had the pleasure of working with personally and professionally (which I do often). She was a true partner in bringing our day to life and brought thoughtfulness to every interaction not only with us as the bride and groom, but our families and guests. Every single interface we had with the extended team was best in class, too. We planned the wedding from Chicago, so we often found ourselves staying at US. The doormen, to the front desk, to the bar and restaurant staff and everyone in between – we looked forward to every visit and interaction. This was so special to us and continued well into our wedding weekend.
On the wedding day – there is no doubt that US provides an incredibly unique venue and experience for your guests. Everyone, in and out of town guests alike, were blown away by the beauty of the space. We continue to hear about it. The food was the best we’ve ever had at an event (and our guests agreed). The staff was professional and timely, too. Everything went off without a hitch and we had the day of our dreams. The light show was a showstopper and unlike anything you will find at any other venue, not only in the area, but in the country. Want a wedding guests will want to talk about and share? This is it.
Many venues do not include cost of chairs, linens, etc. in their initial cost. US does and clearly communicated the fees and taxes to us. There were no surprises. While we opted to do custom linens and centerpieces, there is a way to make this venue work with very little décor, making the cost a reasonable one when compared with what you get at other locations. Beside the inherent beauty of the space, don’t discount the importance of a wide-open floorspace like US has. The fixtures where the projectors live, though unmovable, do not impact sight lines as you’d think and everyone was able to see all of the activities. As you compare spaces, there will be broken up ones that just don’t provide the same experience. There isn’t a bad seat or random corner in the space. It means more than you know, especially as you look out on your wedding day. It also allows for a number of table layouts that accommodate various number of guests and needs. US also provides the convenience of on-site hotel accommodations without narrowing venue selection to a simple hotel ballroom. Simply going upstairs at the end of the night is a huge bonus.
Finally, I cannot stress the importance and impact that having such a professional and seasoned staff like there is at Union Station and with Ashley and her team. They are true hospitality professionals who know what they’re doing…and they’re GREAT at it. This is a venue where you can truly put in the work in the upfront and enjoy your day when it comes. It is an unmatched experience we are truly grateful to have had. (Thank you to Your Story Photo and Cinema for the photos you see here!)
We had the wedding of our dreams, thanks to Union Station. It's so beautiful, and you don't need to decorate or do anything fussy. We loved the light show, huge built in bar, and all of the history that surrounds the venue. It also couldn't have been easier for guests from out of town to spend the night at the hotel. Additionally, a lot of the venues we looked at had a lot of extra hidden fees, and didn't include things like chairs, linens, etc. but that wasn't the case here. Those things and more were all included, and they really did make it so easy on us. Ashley Flanagan and her team went above and beyond with the level of service they provided, and ourselves and our guests felt truly taken care of. Ashley always made time for the many emails and in-person meetings, and I'll never forget her kindness. Thank you, Union Station for the best night of our lives!

Molly, thank you for your kind words! It was an absolute pleasure working with you and Jason. I'm truly happy to know your wedding day was everything you wanted it to be, and more. :-)

Hands down, the best decision we made during our wedding planning was to host our reception at Union Station. Not only is it an insanely stunning venue- but from the very beginning, Jaci and Ashley were an absolute dream to work with! They made the whole process so much easier and more fun, and approached every question, request, or concern with understanding and enthusiasm. The entire staff at Union Station - check-in attendants, valet, bellhops, bartenders, and servers - went above and beyond for us and our guests during the whole wedding weekend. Our wedding day was more perfect than I could have ever imagined, and everything went so smoothly because of the amazing staff at Union Station. I could not recommend them enough!!

Without a doubt St Louis Union Station Grand Hall is the most beautiful venue. From the moment we checked in our things with Randy to the multiple wedding details executed perfectly by Ashley our venue wedding coordinator we could not have been more pleased. The appetizers and dinner courses were exceptional! This gorgeous venue and the excellent staff made for a beautiful and memorable wedding. For our daughter and son-in-law. We have received so many compliments from our guests. The balcony introduction and the ceiling light show in this historic venue are so unique and special! Thank you to all!

We threw our wedding reception at Union Station and it really was as close to a perfect night as it could have been — an absolutely magical evening. Abby was so easy to work with throughout the planning process! She rolled with all of our crazy asks, moved quickly on last-minute adjustments, and made it truly stress-free. She made sure that not only were we being taken care of, but that we were 100% happy with everything. The costs of hosting an event here can be high, but you really get a lot of bang for your buck. Replicating this experience elsewhere could easily be double the cost. We really appreciated that the hotel was on-site too, eliminating the need for us to coordinate any transportation. If you’re thinking about hosting your wedding here, do it! Seriously, you won’t regret it. Our guests continue to rave about the whole experience, my husband and myself included.

Let me start by praising Jaci Spindler, who brought our wedding reception to life. Jaci went above & beyond to give us the most wonderful wedding experience. We felt 100% confident that our wedding would be seamless because we had Jaci by our side. Every time we met with Jaci she made us feel so special and excited for our big day. Jaci is so detail-oriented and leaves no stone unturned. She is perfect. Now moving onto the venue - WOW. The Grand Hall is absolutely magical. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew this was it. The architecture and history behind this space is amazing. The service level is A+, the light show is incredible, the food was so great. Needless to say, we highly recommend Union Station Grand Hall! Thank you for an unforgettable evening.
We fell in love with this venue from the beginning and throughout the entire planning process Union Station works like a well oiled machine worked so seamlessly. We worked with Katie M. at Union Station and she has been in the roll for many years now and loves what she does, we was incredible the day would not have gone as well if she wasn't there acting as our onsite planner and day of coordinator. We had nothing at all to worry about the day of with her and the incredible Union Station staff. Not only is this a historic venue but we had an absolute blast at our reception and it was the best venue. We cannot say enough good things about Union Station. The hotel itself is beautiful with clean and comfortable rooms for guests to stay in. We also received a good wedding guest rate compared to what the other group rates were that other hotels in the area were offering. This was really important since room prices went up quick with the Blues and Cardinals in town throughout the week and weekend of our wedding. Overall, this venue is perfect and we had the most perfect experience with Union Station. Thank you for helping our day to be incredible!
Ok - let me start off by saying the venue is absolutely breathtaking. There is so much history in the space that is well preserved and all of our guests were absolutely awestruck by the lightshow, setup, etc. I loved my wedding day and this space was a large part of that, however I hesitate to recommend it after my experience (see below).
Communication: This was the largest issue we had with the venue and staff. Overall, it was lacking throughout the majority of the planning process. Once we signed the contract for the space, it was pretty standard that if we reached out with a question it would take at least two business days to hear back. When restrictions were sanctioned and lifted from a pandemic perspective, we were not notified of any changes. We had to initiate the conversation to learn what we were able to do and not do. Once we hit the week of the wedding, the staff was more responsive, however at that point it was hectic and a lot of that could have been resolved with more open communication up front.
Professionalism: For the most part, the staff was professional throughout the planning process. However, a HUGE misstep happened when one staff member made a comment that our florist would need to tip him in order to get his cooperation. As a part of the contract, they require a 24% tip, so they are well taken care of in that aspect. My vendor was extremely taken aback and quite frankly I am appalled this was tolerated. They also ended up breaking one of his vases, and did not communicate or offer to pay for damages.
Flexibility/ Attention to Detail: My warning to any bride booking this space, read the contract thoroughly and state explicitly what you want up front, because once you sign, there is no flexibility that does not come with a cost (think parking for guests, bar requests, etc.). They have a lot of weddings here, and setup is down to a science. They took care of the setup completely, and that was extremely coinvent. Tear down is completed promptly when your reception ends, and is facilitated by a group of young men (who were seemingly unsupervised). I left my bridal shoes under the sweetheart table and when I realized the next morning, they were gone without a trace. Other reception spaces my family has used will collect lost items found when breaking down and return them the next business day. This was not the case at Union Station. No items have been recovered from the reception.
Value for Money: Food portions were large, and everything was delicious. Drinks were flowing all night and they were strong. All major pros. However, there was a huge gap in communication surrounding restrictions lifting for the space and how many people were able to be in attendance. There is a minimum $$$ you must commit to to book the space (regardless of the sanctions because its in your contract). This felt unfair taking into account the circumstances, and how our guest list needed to be limited due to restrictions that were still in place at the time.
Overall, the space is beautiful and you will have a stunning reception should you choose to book here. However, due to the items I've outlined above, I also believe it will end up being much more stressful than it needs to be.
I absolutely adored hosting our reception at Union Station! It is a truly magical venue. Katie and the other staff were so helpful and accommodating! All of our guests were awestruck during the entire event, particularly during the enchanting light show. We still have guests telling us how spectacular Union Station was! The entire venue was a great place for taking wedding pictures with our photographer as well. Thank you Union Station for providing the most beautiful venue for the best day of our lives!
We are so extremely happy we got to celebrate our wedding here!! Katie had helped out so much from the beginning. During the pandemic, there were so many protocols to follow and Katie helped us cease our worries. The crew did a great job and worked fast. Everyone went above and beyond. Wish we could do it all over again!
I can't recommend this venue, the hotel, and their staff enough! Through the entire pandemic from when our deposit was due to day of, Union Station and Hilton were nothing but fantastic to work with. Katie is very knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to weddings and no detail will be missed. She is very full service leading up to and day of the reception. The light show is something no other venue can compete with. The food is phenomenal and there are so many menu options to choose from! The service from the staff all night never fell short of fantastic. Highly recommend!!!
We just had our wedding here at the end of February and it was amazing! Grand Hall is so breathtakingly beautiful and our guests were blown away. It is such a unique venue and even people from St. Louis said they felt like they were at an out of town wedding because they had never been to a wedding like it before. Katherine was so easy to work with and was on top of everything. I was told by many people that it was the best wedding food they had ever had and the light show made jaws drop! It was a perfect day and I would highly recommend having your wedding here !
We had our reception at Union Station in April 2019 and we wouldn't change a thing! The entire staff went above and beyond to make our day special, ensuring that every detail we had wanted was executed. All of our guests commented on how kind and professional the dinner staff was, there were zero issues throughout the entire reception.
I have to give a shout out to our Wedding Coordinator, Katie, who made sure everything went off without a hitch. She was helping coordinate our vendors all day, making sure everyone/everything was running smoothly and on schedule, checking in with me to see if she could help with anything, and ensured that every detail in the reception hall was set up just how we had discussed. I even forgot my cake topper by mistake, once Katie realized her and the florist created a beautiful floral cake topper that disguised my mishap so no guests could even tell.
I am so thankful that I had Katie, and the entire Union Station team, to help for our wedding. It wouldn't have been the same wedding without all of them!! I still look back to that day in amazement how smooth and organized it all was. Do not disappoint yourself... book at Union Station :)
You can't go wrong with this venue! We hosted the ceremony in the Grand Hall, went downstairs for cocktails immediately following, and then back upstairs for the reception and dancing. #200 people. The planner we worked with there, Katie McCloskey, was very helpful and available during the entire process. The staff at the hotel for the weekend was outstanding, and it started (and ended) with Randy, the bell captain. It really was unbelievable service delivered by all.
Katie and everyone working for Union Station events were amazing! She made our big day the most magical day and the night went off without a hitch. The food was incredible and all of our guest have said our wedding was one of the most beautiful venues with the best service they have attended.
Katie gets 6 out of 5 stars for everything she and the event staff did, but Union Station Hotel was not easy to work with. Our rooms were not ready on time, guests checked into dirty rooms and the staff was generally rude. The staff refused to give an idea of if the wedding party, my parents or my husbands parents who rented out quite a few rooms could have early check-in (normal check-in is at 4pm and we had the rehearsal dinner to go to with a lot of out of town family/wedding party) even on the day of check-in. Guests who tried to reserve rooms in our room block had difficulty when calling to make the reservation and were told that the block was full or closed when there were plenty of spaces still available.
I do not want to take away from how wonderful the event was and how great the food, service and event staff were - but the hotel was disappointing.

St. Louis Union Station could not have been a better venue! Our wedding and reception were PERFECT! I keep telling people that I wouldn't change a thing about our wedding, and I'm serious. As a bride and groom, we actually got to enjoy our wedding because our venue handled everything. We had ZERO stress! Thanks, to Katherine and help from Paige, the entire event was flawless. They worked so hard and were generous and kind to us the entire time. In addition to the professionalism and organization, the venue is stunning. If you want a wedding that is beautiful and stressfree, then book at Union Station.
We had our dream wedding in Grand Hall at St. Louis Union Station. Katie M is one of the kindest and most supportive vendor relationships you will have throughout your wedding planning process. She and her team were FABULOUS to work with from start to finish… including the first time we met, the tour, the hotel block, the tasting, the planning, the many calls and emails leading up to the big day. The quality of service you receive when you have your wedding at Union Station is the absolute best it could possibly be. It was honestly better than I could have ever dreamed of because I knew I could trust them with every single detail and I didn't have to stress at all or hire my own wedding coordinator. The staff are professional, organized, friendly and helpful. Our only complaint is that the acoustics in Grand Hall are sub-par and although we could hear speeches clearly from the head table, unfortunately many of our guests on the perimeter of the room said the speeches were hard to discern. However, the music and dancing by the DJ were still great in the space. We got a lot of compliments from our guests on the appetizers and the entrée. Our guests also loved the lightshow and the fact that the married couple could be announced from up above on the balcony! Those things were so special and unique to this venue that you can’t find anywhere else. If you haven’t picked your venue yet, give Union Station a chance and book a tour with Katie! You will fall head over heels in love!!!
There's no doubt that this historic St. Louis landmark is gorgeous inside and out. Outside of all the beautiful backdrops this venue offers for photographs, the renovation and revitalization of Union Station offers beautiful, clean hotel rooms (and a large room block comes standard with their reception contract) and a number of activities and food/drink options for your guests. We had our wedding just before (literally one day) the Ferris Wheel opened but with that and the aquarium, it is an attraction in and of itself.
However, an amazing venue only becomes a 5-star review when customer service, catering and event planning are also exceptional. Our event coordinator, Katie, was with us every step of process - walking us through every decision and detail of the day. From table settings to light shows, we felt more than prepared going into our wedding weekend. The evening of the wedding, Katie was there, making sure everything went to plan, checking in with us throughout the night and went the extra mile when she saw my husband and I head out to the dance floor with our crystal glassware his parents gave us - seamlessly having my maid of honor trade out or glasses, cleaning our personal ones and keeping our family glassware safe.
The entire staff at Union Station was professional and friendly. Our guests couldn't stop talking about the venue and service - oh, and how delicious the food was. We had such an amazing time and an overall amazing experience working with Union Station. We plan on making a tradition of celebrating our anniversary at Union Station every year!
Katie & the team made our day ABSOLUTELY perfect! Could not have asked for a better team to help us with our special day! Katie was so responsive, helpful and had every detail covered. I could not have done it without her. Every Bride needs her attention to detail and creative ideas! Venue was beautiful and created exact ambiance we wanted.
Mind blowing. Outstanding. Stunning. Magical. PERFECT. We had the best wedding that any of our guests had ever been to (it’s true.. they told us!), and it’s all thanks to Katie and her amazing team. She is a true, patient professional who managed every piece of our special day, right down to the last detail (including putting my dancing shoes under my chair at the head table, so I could change immediately). She made us feel so comfortable - we knew our reception would go off without a hitch! While Katie is really the gem of Union Station, other aspects were pretty great too.
VENUE: Our reception in the Grand Hall was nothing short of magical. The stunning architecture, fascinating lights shows, and straight up CLASS of the place wowed our guests. AV staff was very helpful and accommodating.
FOOD: AMAZING. BEST WEDDING FOOD YOU CAN FIND.
HOTEL: Gorgeous rooms with the most courteous staff. We got two complimentary nights in the bridal suite - perfect for getting ready with girls, and relaxing after all the excitement.
PRICE: This is definitely one of the pricier venues in the city, but you get a lot for your money: premium bar, passed appetizers, incredible meal, beautiful suite, stunning venue, 5-star staff!
After getting engaged, my wife and I had NO clue where to host our wedding reception. From country clubs to even a backyard BBQ, we were all over the map on where we'd host everyone to celebrate our special day. My mom said it best in that "when we saw it, we'd know it."
Given we both had such large families - many that live all over the country - it was important to us that we found a location able to accommodate us in space, amenities, professionalism, and uniqueness.
I was stuck at work the day my wife, mom, and mother in-law toured multiple venues. During a FaceTime of Union Station, Event Manager Katie McCloskey showed us the Grand Hall - a 125 year old space that had been recently restored to reflect it's historical richness, originality, and beauty. Even viewing it through a phone, I was completely blown away. Then to cap it off, Katie demonstrated the one-of-a-kind "Light Show" features that come with using Grand Hall. With the push of a button, the rounded ceiling transformed into a night sky, complimented with music. Another push, and the lights projected fireworks as well! It was included in the wedding package, and piqued my interest in how it could be utilized at a wedding reception.
After touring another venue later that evening with my then-fiancé, we both agreed that we NEEDED to go back and look at Union Station. So with no scheduled appointment, we went straight to the hotel. Not more than 10 minutes being there, my fiancé - with tears in her eyes - said "I know it now. I can see us celebrating our wedding here." I could not have agreed more.
After that, we planned and prepared for the next 11 months. Katie was phenomenal to work with; she was flexible, accommodating, professional, and downright polite. We've even stayed in touch since the wedding! And the evening was everything we dreamed it could be. Despite having 330 guests, they fit more than comfortably in the space. The food was excellent, and the bar was large enough to accommodate everyone. The light show, as I'd hoped, was a complete hit ! In between the band's sets, they played Beatles and Queen medleys. Many of our guests said they'd never seen anything like it before! There was a balcony for people who wished to go outside, plenty of room and acoustics for the band, and all the perks of a Four-Diamond hotel. Many of our guests stayed there, and it was the perfect place for us to all gather before and after various events throughout the weekend.
If you are considering a wedding in St. Louis, you MUST consider Union Station! Along with all the aforementioned items, there are a whole litany of new features around the hotel, including a 250 foot Ferris wheel, restaurants, mini-golf, and a state-of-the-art aquarium. My wife and I are looking forward to spending our one-year anniversary at Union Station, and plan on bringing our kids back there with us in the future. Thanks to how great our wedding experience was with them, we will be patrons of Union Station for many years to come!
First, Katherine was amazing! We did not have a planner (just a day of organizer) and she was incredibly helpful and resourceful from the start. She was truly an asset and an ally. The beauty and history of Union Station speaks for it self, if you’ve not yet experienced it you’re missing out. It’s been a hidden gem for years and now with all the different things happening on site it is such an incredibly cool place to have a wedding. The charm and romance of Grand Hall made for a truly magical affair that our friends and family still carry on about a year later. Honestly I could go on at length on why to have your wedding here but do your self a favor and schedule a tour. Katherine and team will take great care of you!
We had our reception at Union Station on June 15,2019, and everything was absolutely perfect!! Katie, the wedding coordinator, is amazing! She is so helpful with every decision that needs to be made, and took care of all the day of coordination with our other vendors! I had no idea of all the different decisions that went into planning, but Katie helped at every step! Katie and the staff an Union Station helped make our day perfect!! I can't recommend her and her team highly enough! Not to mention how beautiful Union Station and the Grand Hall are! Thank you so much! :)
The best experience! Katie was amazing to work with and our reception did not have one glitch. The Grand Hall is beyond words, the light show was mesmerizing for all our guests and a special element that no other venues have in St. Louis, and the food was spectacular. Our Guests from out of town said they never have attended a reception as spectacular as this.
If you want an amazing space, call Katie!
Our daughters reception was in the Grand Hall with cocktails in the lower level. Everything was perfect! Katie was wonderful to work with. The food, staff and everyone involved made for a perfect evening!!!
Union Station was amazing, we had such a great time at our wedding! The light show was magical! Katie, our event manager was on top of everything and made sure the night went smoothly. The staff was very helpful and attentive. My veil was misplaced, we tried to find it using the security cameras but were not able to discover where it went. It was unfortunate that we could not have this resolved. My parents also had their car's engine blown out by the valet but the hotel compensated them for the repairs. Despite these mishaps everything else was amazing, the room, the night, and everyone from the hotel was friendly and willing to help.
I don't even know where to start in thanking Katie and The Union Station Team for our picture-perfect wedding day. From our very first consultation, Katie ensured us that every detail of our wedding would be taken care of. She was there every step of the way to answer questions big or small and executed the event with poise and grace. Planning our wedding from New York City meant that every trip to St. Louis was jam-packed and Katie always made an effort to work with our schedule and be there for us. We are so happy we chose Union Station for our big day. Our guests are still raving about the convenience factor, the phenomenal light shows, and the overwhelming historical beauty of the space!
We absolutely loved having our reception at Union Station. Everything from the planning to the execution was perfect. Our wedding event coordinator was easy to work with and always was there to answer questions. The food was delicious. We got so many compliments that the food was the best that our guests have had at any wedding. Our other favorite part was the light show. It was absolutely fabulous! The entire space was so elegant and fit what our vision was perfectly. I highly recommend having your wedding reception at Union station.
I just had my wedding here and it was BEYOND everything I ever imagined. Union Station at Christmas was my dream wedding and Katie helped my make dreams come true. I couldn't have asked for a better night. Katie was so helpful and make sure that everything went off without a hitch and the rest of the staff was all very nice and so helpful. Everything that we could have possibly needed was taken care of for us that night, we didn't have to do a thing. The food was so good and the portions were quite large. I still can't get over how awesome the honeymoon suite was, if I could move in there I would! I HIGHLY recommend this venue, you will not be disappointed.
Excellent venue, wedding was perfect !!!
We knew we wanted to have our wedding reception in a historic venue and we were hooked the first time we met Katie in the Grand Hall at Union Station. The intricate details of the room have been meticulously maintained and the light show added another dimension to an already stunning setting. I did most of our planning from a distance and it was a pleasure working with Katie, who was very responsive and professional from the beginning. She calmly answered all our questions and helped us with some last minute changes the week of the wedding. The night prior to the wedding, there was something wrong with the honeymoon suite we booked, and Katie helped us get upgraded to the Presidential Suite, which was absolutely perfect for the bridal party getting ready the morning of the wedding. Even though the space is gorgeous, Katie helped with the table/place settings, our cigar bar and ice luge-- everything was set up just as we envisioned. We had so many guests rave about the food, the ice luge, the incredible light show, and the convenience of going upstairs to their rooms afterward. Many guests even said ours was the Best Wedding they have ever attended. We could not be any happier with the day. We are grateful for Katie and the Union Station staff for helping us create our perfect wedding.
I don't even know where to begin! St. Louis Union Station is absolutely the place to have you wedding if you want elegance, historical beauty, amazing food, out of this world customer service, and a stunning light show. I can't tell you how many times I heard from guests that our wedding was the best wedding they've ever attended! I agree (though I may be a bit bias! ;)
Jaci was the best! She ensured that my day was stress free, flawless, and took care of all the last minute surprises (like extra guests, logistical issues, missing items for the guest book) without me even knowing that there were issues. She was also quick to respond to emails or texts and genuinely happy to find a way to make my requests happen. She's also so fun to work with!
For everything you get, it is a surprisingly affordable venue. If you add up all the "extras" like glassware, cake service, valet, etc other caterers charge, you'll see Union Station is comparable but with amazing perks that you can't find anywhere else in St. Louis. For example, they have a stunning 3-D light show that you can have play. You can pick from any of several shows, pick the ambient color during dinner and the reception. We didn't need to get any decorations because Grand Hall is so stunning on it's own.
Next- the food!! The food was amazing! I got so many compliments on EVERYTHING. The steak was cooked just perfectly, the salmon was flaky and moist...someone even asked if I could get their recipe for the potatoes! Lol. Jaci was phenomenal about accommodating special requests or restrictions. Have a gluten free cousin? No problem! Coworker's girlfriend is lactose intolerant? They've got it covered. I had zero stress at all on making sure they could serve something to accommodate everyone.
If you are looking for the MOST stunning, glamorous venue in St. Louis with wedding managers that are the best in their business and servers/bartenders that will make your guests feel like royalty, you have to check out St. Louis Union Station. If you are like me, you'll fall in love the minute you walk in and won't be able to see yourself anywhere else. They will do absolutely everything to make it the best day of your life and you'll be reminded of that every time one of your guests says it's the best, most beautiful wedding they've ever been to (which they will- I promise)!
WE LOVED THIS VENUE! My daughter's wedding was in May 2018. We started planning early and after visiting the beautiful Grand Hall, we were sold! A totally UNIQUE experience, not your typical hotel ballroom, and the light show is AMAZING! The added bonus was how delightful it was to work with Katie! She helped us all the way through the process. We asked a million questions and she responded quickly, professionally and always cheerfully. She had great suggestions and worked with our other vendors to create a truly memorable day. Katie's unflappable demeanor kept us all calm, she is absolutely wonderful! The day of the event she had everything under control and it went so smoothly. The food was amazing and the service and staff were outstanding. All of our guests had a wonderful time due to Katie and her staff's dedication to detail, we are still getting many compliments! We highly recommend this venue for its beauty and character, but the outstanding food and personal service put it over the top!
We had our daughter's wedding reception in the Grand Hall on 5/12/18. It is such an amazing venue and we continue to receive compliments from our guests. We just received the photographs from the wedding and couldn't be more thrilled. What a backdrop for a wedding! Dana, our event manager, was so professional and a joy to work with. Actually, everyone at the hotel, from the valets to housekeeping, couldn't have been nicer. We had 250+ people in attendance and the food was amazing. It can be very difficult to serve that many people, but the hotel managed to make everyone happy. We had almost 60 rooms booked for the weekend and the guests were extremely happy with their accommodations. The rooms at Union Station are beautiful! This venue definitely deserves 5 stars!
This was the PERFECT location for our wedding. The whole staff from the beginning was absolutely amazing and very helpful. From the initial walk through to the big day we never felt stressed or uneasy about our decision to get married at Union Station.
We did our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Everything was just so fantastic.
We got married during a heat wave. Our ceremony was supposed to be outside, but last minute we decided to have it inside. Dana and her team made it happen without a doubt. There was no pushback or anything. It was such a stress free switch.
Prior to the big day, anytime I had a question Dana was so quick to repsond and always answered my questions.
All of our guests said the whole night was magical. We couldn’t agree more. It truly was the best day ever!!
Thank you Dana and the Union Station Staff!!
Everything at Union Station was perfect!! Working with Katie for the planning was so easy, she made the process fun and had every little detail covered! She and her team really out us first the whole time and made our day truly ours. The venue was amazing and the light show in the Grand Hall had all of our guests raving. The food, service, and included decor was exactly as we wanted! We could not have picked a better venue.
Katherine was a fantastic coordinator! She was extremely helpful and hard working during the entire wedding planning process and, with the help of Dana, made sure everything ran according to plan the day of. I am so thankful that she was there for us!
The venue itself is no short of amazing. We had our reception in the Grand Hall and it is gorgeous. The light show wowed our guests and we received so many complements. Many people said the food was the best they'd ever had at a wedding and we agreed! We went with the choice of sea bass, petite filet, or spinach and artichoke stuffed chicken. While the petite filet seemed to be a tiny bit inconsistently cooked across the board, everyone still enjoyed it. My groom and I had all three meals between us and thought the sea bass was the absolute best! They were each super delicious though. For apps, the candied bacon was DIVINE. If you choose this place, get the candied bacon!
Our ceremony was inside Gothic Corridor which is beautiful, although I do recommend having custom drapery added to the stage backdrop because the white drapes they provide are a bit boring in the photos. We had a winter wedding, so the sun was already setting by the time we started, causing the corridor to be a bit dark. So I recommend having a ceremony before the sun sets, so it's nice and bright in there!
Miscellaneous: We had the ceremony and reception all at Union Station, as well as our hotel block. About 50% of our guests were from out of town and they said it was super easy getting there and appreciated not having to leave (because it was winter). We had guest welcome bags that the front desk delivered to the rooms which was a nice detail.
The hotel is HUGE. Not sure if that's a pro or con, but you should know. Also, accessing the guest rooms is a bit tricky because the building is locked up pretty well. You have to have a keycard to get where you're going, so if you have photographers or hair/makeup people coming to your room, you need to send people to meet them in the lobby. The rooms are also split up on different sides of the complex, so in order to get to the suites, for example, you have to have a specific keycard to get over to that side. But the plus side is that you know you're safe and no randoms off the street are wandering the halls.
As the bride and groom, we stayed in Suite 522 which was beautifully decorated and had enough room for all the ladies to get ready the morning of. Oh, and the entire staff was very kind and accommodating.
TL;DR- Katherine is the best coordinator in the world, the food is top notch, the staff is accommodating, and the decor is fabulous!
I wish the rating scale went higher than 5 stars!! I honestly can't say enough about how amazing our wedding experience was working with Union Station. If you're looking for a jaw-dropping venue with some of the best food and service you'll ever experience, STOP LOOKING NOW BECAUSE THIS IS IT!!
Grand Hall was exactly what we were looking for in a venue - unique, a St. Louis favorite, and accommodating with a hotel attached for our friends and family to stay and not have to worry about transportation. I didn't hear a single complaint from a guest about their stay or booking of their hotel room, which is a common problem I had noticed with other venues.
Every single person we worked with - from the frequent conversations with Jaci & Katie, to the Front Desk staff, and the staff on the day-of - was incredibly friendly, helpful and polite. My guests kept coming up to me during the reception and the day after talking about how amazing everything was - especially the friendliness and helpfulness of the wait staff.
We booked about a year and a half before our big day, and Jaci couldn't have been more helpful throughout the planning process. She answered my (millions of) questions quickly and was always one step ahead of me. When the role transitioned over to Katie a couple of months before our wedding, I was nervous at first, but Katie didn't miss a beat. All of the little details were flawlessly executed! Both Jaci and Katie's enthusiasm and helpfulness made the planning process so much easier.
We had the light show play before the grand entrance and had a grand send-off complete with fireworks on the ceiling. Six months later, that's still one of the first things people talk about when they think of our wedding! Having the light show capability truly sets Union Station and Grand Hall apart from other venues. It's INCREDIBLE!!
The guests also commented that it was amazing how they could cook over 200 steaks to perfection - everyone LOVED their food!
If you've made it this far, you've probably already started your email reaching out to them about booking your big day. I couldn't recommend it enough!!! We look forward to celebrating a lot of anniversaries at Grand Hall!!
I can't say enough good things about having our wedding at Union Station. The events team there - especially Jaci and Katie - are fantastic! No detail was overlooked and they made our wedding day stress-free for us. They were also super-flexible and worked with us to ensure our day was what we wanted it to be, which I really appreciated. After the wedding, guests have continued to compliment us on the food - my steak was cooked perfectly! - and the amazing light show that set the stage for the rest of the evening. If we could do it all over again we'd choose Union Station every time.
Exceeded our expectations! We were very detailed in the planning of our daughter & son-in-law's wedding and had a high (but achievable) standard. Union Station delivered on that dream!
The wedding coordinator and her staff were amazing. They responded to many emails and phone calls in a timely fashion. Whenever we added something to our list, they knew exactly what needed to be coordinated on their end and took care of it. They had valuable suggestions along the way & added to our vision. We had contracted over half a dozen outside vendors. Union Station worked seamlessly with all of them.
We used the Gothic Corridor for the ceremony, lower level for the cocktail reception and the Grand Hall for our dinner reception. Union Station created the ultimate experience in each of these spaces. Everything we envisioned came to life the day of the wedding. They did not disappoint on a single element.
The food was excellent! From the mini beef wellingtons at cocktail hour to the main course, the Chef outdid himself. Many guests commented on the delicious food. They served 200 meals to perfection!
From the moment we checked in on Friday until check out on Sunday, every employee we encountered was courteous, professional & helpful. We arrived with 3 luggage carts full of wedding gear. They unloaded the cars and delivered every item safely to each appointed space. From the valet to the bellmen, we were treated with incredible service.
I HIGHLY recommend Union Station to anyone planning a special event. The venue alone is magnificent, add to that a world class staff and product, and you cannot miss!
Jaci Spindler and her entire staff at St. Louis Union Station were incredible! Our wedding and reception there were amazing and all the staff was great to work with. They were true professionals who were able to address and react to any of our concerns. We were able to have my daughter’s wedding out doors in the courtyard and then move to the Grand Hall for our reception. The Grand Hall is an incredibly beautiful space in which to host a reception. It is so fabulous, there is very little needed for flowers and extra decor . The laser light show was phenomenal and a nice included bonus. We had the double entrée stuffed chicken and filet that were fabulous. Hats off to the food and beverage staff. The food was delicious which is saying a lot when you serve 260 people at the same time. They are standard marscapone cake with berries was better than any wedding cake I’ve ever had, so that’s what we served. The venue and staff were over-the-top accommodating and perfect for my daughter‘s wedding. I would highly recommend them to anybody looking for a very special venue. They definitely exceeded my expectations.
We had our wedding at St. Louis Union Station last weekend and it was magical! From bell hop to wedding coordinator to wait staff everyone was so accommodating and friendly. The Venu itself is breathtakingly beautiful and the light show was the cherry on top! We haven’t stopped hearing about the fun our guests had and I’m sure we will Reminisce about the amazing wedding for years to come. Thank you Union Station for making the weekend so special.
My daughter's wedding reception was in the Grand Ballroom of Union Station on June 17, 2017. I would just like to say the entire staff at the Hotel is very friendly and professional. We had several out of town guests stay the weekend for the wedding, and everyone commented on how nice Union Station is.
The night of the reception, everything went as planned it was the perfect Venue. The food is amazing, the service is great, and the ballroom was gorgeous! Most of all Jaci Spindler, the Director of Catering does a wonderful job making sure every detail is taken care of, so all we had to do was have a great time at the reception. Several guests at the reception commented that it was the best reception ever!
We will never forget that night!!
Our wedding day can only be described as magical – and it’s absolutely thanks to everyone at Union Station. When we were visiting possible venues around St. Louis we all agreed the Grand Hall was stunning. That’s a no brainer. But it was Director of Catering Jaci Spindler who sealed the deal. Jaci is cool, calm, and collected. We knew we wanted to work with her. Jaci was so responsive when it came to emails, phone calls, and visits. And it wasn’t just Jaci who impressed us. Everyone else who works on events is JUST as impressive. We also had the privilege of working with Julio -- who made us feel so special during our tasting and on our wedding night. Every single member of the Union Station staff treated us and our guests with the utmost respect. I truly cannot recommend Union Station enough. The wedding suite was the perfect place for all of the girls to come together and get ready that day. Throughout the day there were so many beautiful spots to take pictures. Our ceremony could not have been more perfect in the Gothic Corridor. And, of course, the Grand Hall is one of the most impressive wedding venues in St. Louis. We’ve heard rave reviews from our guests since our wedding night – saying everything from “the dinner was the best food I’ve ever had a wedding” to how they were blown away by the light show. I feel lucky to have been married in such a beautiful and historic place – and even luckier to have worked with everyone at Union Station. Thank you for making my wedding a dream come true!
We were told by EVERY guest that this was the best wedding they had been to in YEARS! the all raved about the food, the dancing, the atmosphere, the surprises and the FUN they had. Katherine and Jaci are AMAZING to work with. They made everything run soooo smooth. Not a single one of my friends or family members had to worry about helping with anything because of these two ladies. Katherine made the process so much fun! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!
Union Station made our dream wedding come to life. Katie and Jaci paid attention to every detail and made our entire planning process and wedding day stress free. From the food to the decor to their accommodations, Union Station was everything we could've hoped for. Our gusts still talk about the Grand Hall and uniqueness of the venue. We'd recommend to everyone.
I could not have asked for a better venue than Union Station. We got married in their Train Park Courtyard and our reception was in Grand Hall. Working with Katie was nothing short of amazing. She made me feel like everything was taken care of and was always willing to meet with me if needed. I knew I was in good hands working with her. Everything was set up perfectly. You guys...the food was phenomenal. We thought we'd choose beef and salmon, but the Stuffed Chicken Breast with Artichoke, Boursin & Sun Dried Tomato Stuffing with Basil Pesto Cream was SO amazing we ended up going with that and the beef. Also, the dressing on the baby greens salad was to die for. People are still talking about the Fig, Bacon, and Goat Cheese Flatbread Hors d'oeuvre. Can you tell food is important to me? Anyway, Union Station was perfection and I can't recommend working with Katie enough. My wedding day was everything I could've wanted.
Having my wedding at Union Station, and working with Jaci and Katie, was the best decision we made! Union Station itself, is such a beautiful and unique place, and being able to have our wedding and reception in the same place, made for such a relaxing and stress-free day. Jaci and Katie were amazing to work with from the first meeting, all the way to the end of the night, and went above and beyond to make the day thing but the best for us!!
I don't think myself or my (now) husband will get over how beautiful Union Station is. From the minute we walked up the steps and into Grand Hall, we knew this was the place we wanted to have our reception. Its THAT kind of venue- where you just "know".
Jaci & Katie (started with Jaci and ended with Katie) thank you SO much for all your help. I think I emailed you every day the last month of the wedding and you always responded with a "don't apologize!! I'm here to help". I think I said "I would totally be friends with them!" to at least 5 of my friends throughout the year.
When people asked "So how'd it go?" and you say "Absolutely PERFECT!" you know that you chose the right place. From coordinating with vendors, hosting an amazing tasting, organizing our room block, and accommodating last minute requests (thanks for the Marine plate set-up, and a random bacon dinner request), they were amazing!
Cannot say enough good things about Union Station, Jaci & Katie, and the entire staff- Our wedding was amazing and everything we hoped it'd be!
Emily & Chris.
Response from the Vendor on 05/24/2017
Thank you Emily and Chris! You both were so amazing to work with and I miss your emails already :) Myself and the Union Station team truly enjoyed seeing your beautiful day unfold! Wishing you both the best!
Cheers!
Katie Bourgeois
What a STUNNING venue, with TREMENDOUS service. So many of our guests told us this was the most beautiful reception they'd ever been to. The grandeur of the art deco restoration combined with the fantastic staff and food and light show - I could go on and on. Katie was fantastic to work with, and very very responsive to questions. She was so calm and serene on the wedding day that she was a very relieving presence to have around. Everything went off without a hitch and I am SO very glad we chose this for our special evening.
Response from the Vendor on 05/24/2017
Thank you, Amanda! Myself and the Union Station team are so excited that we go to share in your beautiful day! Wishing you and Weston all the best in your new adventure together.
Cheers!
Beautiful hotel with awesome rooms for a good rate!! The staff was very accommodating to other people checking us in and dropping things off. It was so great to be able to just walk into the hotel at the end of the night and have all of our stuff there for us.
EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS VENUE IS PERFECT!!! Though the space is obviously one-of-a-kind and can speak for itself, the staff was equally impressive. Jaci, the coordinator, is hands down a major reason why our day ran so smoothly. She is EXTREMELY knowledgeable, professional/timely, and treats you like you "are not just another bride"..... Everything about our reception was perfect. Thanks to Jaci and her team for making my fairytale wedding become a reality!
Our daughter's wedding was held recently at Union Station and it was everything we hoped it would be. The architecture in the hotel is amazing which made the setting for the cocktail hour so gorgeous. The Grand Hall is exceptionally beautiful anyway but when it is set up for a wedding reception it glows. The light show on the ceiling is jaw-dropping and brings the entire room to a standstill. There's nothing like it. The food was delicious, the service impeccable with every staff person so friendly and helpful from the porter to the wedding assistant. Our wedding assistant was very responsive, gracious and informative. She was priceless in making everything run so smoothly from day one. We received many phone calls and emails from family and friends the day after the wedding telling us it was the most elegant and beautiful wedding they had ever attended. We agreed. It was amazing.
AMAZING!!! My husband and I had our wedding reception at St. Louis Union Station's Grand Hall in July of 2016, and I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience! Our guests still go on and on about the beauty of the Grand Hall, the amazing food, and the light show. From a bride's perspective, Jaci (the event coordinator) is the BEST of the industry - she is truly fabulous. Her attention to detail was immaculate and she accommodated both us and our guests in every way possible. She always replied to my (many) emails promptly and with attention to everything. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her and our experience with Union Station. It was such a relief (and from what I've heard, a unique experience) to know that you could 100% trust your coordinator/reception venue to make the evening perfectly seamless.
For our out-of-town guests, the Grand Hall was such a unique venue that truly gave them the St. Louis experience. I loved the Grand Hall's rich history, having been built for the World's Fair in the early 1900's. In my opinion, it is the crown jewel of St. Louis architecture and simply one-of-a-kind. Thanks to Jaci and all of the amazing staff at Union Station, our wedding was a dream come true!
