I am a licensed cosmetologist who specializes in bridal hair and makeup. I have always been passionate about fashion, hair and makeup so I decided to make my passion my career. The most fulfilling part of my job is looking at a bride ready to say "I do" knowing I had taken part in her big day and knowing she will look back at her memories and remember how stunning and confident she looked and felt!
My philosophy is about using makeup as a tool to enhance a person natural beauty. That doesn't mean no-makeup-makeup, it means makeup that's tailored to your unique style and features.

Monica and her team were amazing. I was extremely stressed the morning of due to issues coming from our hotel and the room we were getting ready in. Monica stepped in trying to ease my stress! She is so incredibly sweet and extremely easy to work with. Not only that but her and the team gave us beautiful hair and makeup! Out of all the stressful things a wedding day brings, our hair and makeup were the smoothest part of the day! Thank you so much Monica, you are wonderful (:

I can't say enough good things about Monica and the incredible job she did with my hair and makeup on my wedding day! Her team as well is awesome! They are so kind and so helpful. From the moment we met, she made me feel completely at ease. She took the time to listen to what I wanted and offered thoughtful suggestions that made me feel even more confident in my choices.
On the big day, Monica worked her magic and I truly felt so beautiful! My hair and makeup were flawless and lasted all day, even through emotional moments and all the dancing! I received so many compliments, and I couldn’t have been happier with the final look!

Monica was so lovely to work with! She was so kind and patient throughout my trials and helped me figure out what hair & makeup looks I liked best. She was amazing at recreating the look of various inspiration pics I showed her. On the day of the wedding, Monica and her colleagues Maria & Lydia did hair and makeup for me, 6 bridesmaids, and my mother-in-law. They kept us right on schedule all morning and everyone's hair and makeup turned out gorgeous! They were all so kind and even gave each of us a beauty blender & lipstick for touch-ups throughout the day. Highly recommend!

From the very beginning Monica was wonderful to work with. When I reached out she was quick to respond with a very reasonable quote for hair and makeup for myself and my bridesmaids. Monica was very accommodating and skillfully executed the vision that I had in mind for my hair and makeup at my trial day.
On the day of my wedding, Monica and her colleague Maria showed up to my house early to set up. They were extremely professional and kept us on a tight timeline. Everybody at my wedding could not stop talking about how good our hair and makeup looked. I would recommend Monica to anyone getting married in the Chicago area.

Monica did my hair and makeup for my daughters wedding in November. I was so worried since I had never had my hair and makeup done before. Monica did hair and makeup for me (bride) and my bridal party. Unfortunately due to time constraints on my end, I couldn’t book a trial first. I showed Monica 3-4 pics of what I wanted and she effortlessly assimilated all of them into the hair updo and makeup style I wanted. She also found time to do an extra hairstyle that wasn’t originally requested for one of my bridesmaids. I couldn’t recommend her enough! She is wonderful and very easy to talk and work with. She was also quick to reply to all my messages and emails.

Everyone kept telling that I was THE MOST beautiful bride thanks to Monica and her team. On top of that, Monica was super sweet and went out of her way to make my wedding day as stress free as possible, despite all the chaos of having 8 people in a tiny hotel room. I think State of Glamour deserves 100 out of 5 stars. Highly recommend!

Monica and her team were wonderful. They deserve 10 stars honestly.
I’ve always been hesitant with someone doing my makeup & especially for my wedding, I was worried I wouldn’t feel like myself. But Monica was amazing. She made me feel (& the bridesmaids) all feel so beautiful. I would highly recommend this team to anyone! They were just incredible.

Monica and Lydia were the best!! Very communicative throughout the booking process and made planning easy with our group for hair and make up looks. I did a bridal trial with Monica and felt like a princess with the finished product. She made great suggestions to accentuate my features! I felt amazing and all of my group did as well. She had such a large choice of products to choose from and the makeup lasted throughout the entire day! Highly recommend!

Monica and her team was a last minute decision and let me say it was a great one! I had previously booked a makeup artist prior to Monica and that didn’t turn out well. I went on the knot to search for makeup services for my wedding. I contacted Monica through the knot and responded quickly to my messages. I did a trial and loved it. The day of the wedding Monica and Lydia did the makeup for my bridesmaids and they absolutely loved their makeup. The bridesmaids were given their makeup sponges and some lipstick in a little goody bag to touch up throughout the night. Thank you Monica and your team for a great look!

Monica and her team were such an amazing add to my day!! They did such great work on all the different hair and make up looks that my bridesmaids had special for my girls how had a crazy amount of hair!! Everyone’s hair and makeup last the whole night plus the next day if they forgot to take it off or down and even then it looks so beautiful!! If I even need hair and make up again I don’t have to go looking because I know where the best is!

I cannot share enough what a wonderful experience we had with Monica and hiring state of glamor for our wedding in March. Monica was super professional, easy and fun to work with, and did a fantastic job communicating throughout the process. She listened to exactly what I was looking for and nailed it! I am not someone who wears a lot of makeup so I was very nervous going in, and Monica did such a great job of explaining everything and really giving me a natural glamorous look. She did a wonderful job during the trial and really took the time to make sure I was absolutely in love with my look! I was so happy with how my makeup and hair turned out the day of the wedding and when we received photos back it was truly amazing to see how well the hair and make up photographed! All of my bridesmaids who received makeup and hair services were also very impressed! Monica and her team were an absolute pleasure to work with and I would recommend them for anyone's wedding day!

Monica was so easy to work with right from the start all the way to after the wedding! She let met come in for 3 trials before my wedding to get the perfect hair and makeup look down. On the day of the wedding, her and her team were on time, stayed on schedule, and were so kind. Everybody's hair and makeup looked great throughout the whole night! I messed up with the payment following the wedding and she was extremely understanding! Highly recommend using her for any event!

I used State of Glamour for wedding hair and makeup for me, my bridesmaids, and my mom and they did a fantastic job with everything! Monica really took her time to make sure everything she did was exactly what we wanted, and also had helpful suggestions. They were punctual and easy to work with and gave us cute little baggies to touch up our makeup. I highly recommend using them for wedding hair and makeup!

Monica was amazing and so helpful throughout the entire process!! She listened to what I wanted during my trial and even helped me pick out the perfect hair piece for my wedding day. I loved Monica and her assistant. They were on time and finished everything within the timeline she set. And WOW. they did an amazing job on my hair plus my bridesmaids and my little niece, a flower girl. Seeing my niece with an updo was just the cutest. Monica is very responsive, I never had to wait for her to reply and she really listened when I expressed my worries about too much make up. I never wear make up regularly and so I was nervous about having my make up done. She had me feeling like a true queen. She color matched me perfectly. The make up felt very light on my skin and stayed the whole night. I would highly recommend her for your bridal hair/makeup. She’s worth it!

Where to start?! Obviously being a Bride is stressful enough but let me tell you Monica has been amazing from the beginning. I went to two trials before finding Monica. I did not like the other two and I was getting SUPER nervous about finding someone. From the start, she has made me feel so comfortable. I am not the best with communication and she was great with checking in, being flexible with moving my trial around due to some personal issues. She works well and wants to make sure you feel your best. I showed her a few photos of what I was looking for. I am not huge on makeup and I stressed I did not want to look like a total different person for my soon to be husband. She went right to work and let me tell you, I felt stunning. I absolutely loved how I looked and got SO many compliments on my makeup. I 100% recommend Monica! She will make you feel like a queen.

State of Glamour was great! Monica was very helpful and patient with us on the wedding day. She and her assistant were actually the first people to show up and were set up already when we got there. They got us in and out quickly while still giving everyone what they wanted. She did hair for me, my bridesmaids, moms, and flower girls - styling everything from little girls' hair to a real-hair wig! Monica is clearly an expert at both hair and makeup. Considering the rain and heat, everything stayed in place as much as possible. We also had lots of fun at the trial and she was really willing to find the looks we wanted. On top of that, she was far cheaper than a lot of competitors and was really communicative.

Monica did hair and makeup for myself and my bridesmaids on my wedding day and everyone looked stunning! I received so many compliments regarding my look that day, all thanks to her!
Monica's team arrived to my place on time, and they took extra precautions in regards to keeping all products clean (they cleaned the brushes between use, used personal sponges for each girl, used hand sanitizer throughout the process, wore masks, etc.) so we felt safe while they were providing services. Monica is very nice, affordable, and great at what she does. I would recommend her for your wedding day beauty needs!
