We recently had our wedding at the State Room, a stunning venue that exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was elegant and romantic, creating the perfect setting for the special occasion. The staff was very attentive, ensuring every guest felt welcome and comfortable throughout the event. Kat and her team were highly accommodating and mindful of the specifics from planning to pack up, especially with a complicated family dynamic, which put us at ease and allowed us to enjoy every moment! Highly recommend the state room for your wedding! Everything was organized so well. Jenna was our event specialist and she went out of her way to make sure our day went perfectly. Jenna was very responsive to emails and provided very helpful advice throughout the process. The venue itself is beautiful and our guests love taking pictures of the views.

My husband and I just had our wedding on 9/9 and couldn’t have better things to say about the State Room. Outside of the stunning views and delicious food Jenna ( our coordinator) and her team truly went above and beyond to make the day special. They were extremely professional and efficient while also making sure we got to soak in all that was our special day. 5 stars does not do this venue and Jenna/ team justice they were truly incredible and I strongly recommend to any future brides/ grooms!

5 stars is simply not enough. My husband and I had our wedding on 9/1/23 at The State Room, and every single detail of the wedding was executed flawlessly, beautifully, and even, ahead of schedule - something I've never experienced as a guest at any other wedding, let alone for it to be at my own wedding! Every single one of our guests expressed to us that it was the most beautiful and fun wedding they've ever attended! And you absolutely cannot beat the gorgeous views of Boston from the towering windows in the ballroom. From the staff of coordinators supporting us every step of the way for months, to the bartenders and set-up staff the week-of and day-of, we truly felt taken care of, and everything went off without a hitch. It was the best day of our lives, and if we could do it all over again, we would hands-down choose The State Room as our venue. 50/10 recommend this venue for your wedding.

State Room is absolutely our dream wedding + cocktail + reception venue!!! We fell in love with this venue the moment we stepped into the Great Room - what else can beat the view of a glimpse of historic Boston with a backdrop of the ocean for guests all around the world? We hesitated at first because this is so expensive for a medium sized wedding (~100ppl) given the minimum spending; but after reading all the reviews we decided to go with it. What a great decision!!! 1) Jenna + State Room Team (10stars if I can?) Our event manager, Jenna, is absolutely amazing to work with, just like all the other amazing reviews have stated. First off - both of us were unfortunately very busy at work during the weekdays, and started the actual part of wedding planning about 4 months prior to the big day. We felt really bad when we respond emails sometimes outside of the normal working hours - but Jenna has been so responsive and understanding... She is also extremely well-organized with email correspondence, and has helped greatly in making sure the decorations we brought ourselves were in place before the ceremony. She is also very experienced, and calm - which was amazing as I (bride) was quite anxious the week before the wedding. Thank you so much Jenna, and the State Room Team! 2) Food. The food here is delicious. We feel bad not able to finish all of them at the tasting - turns out our guests also couldn't compliment more on how delicious everything tastes. Oh and the cake flavors are also unique and delicious.. If you go with upgrade for cake, you can choose as many as 4 flavors. My husband and I took the top tier cake home and savored it when we are relaxed after the wedding. It still tastes amazing after 4 days. 3) The View. The venue obviously has a stunning view (it's even better in person than in photos). The clean, pristine backdrop easily set the tone for modern/elegant weddings even without much decorations if that is what you are after. For us, we witnessed the Boston August weather throughout the afternoon/evening. We were worried about the weather as it was pouring (summer showers) 1 hour before the wedding, but then we had a double rainbow right over the horizon near the ocean right before the ceremony. Few fluffy white cloud against the blue sky was our ceremony backdrop. The sky then faded from blue, to a pink tone (cocktail hours), then to the dark night with amazing view of city lights (do need to find someone who has experience shooting photos at the venue to avoid glares from the windows). On our rehearsal day prior, it was foggy and the whole room has a dreamy white backdrop. 4) Location, and floor plan logistics. This is the venue we had in mind where it's so close to airport and everything Boston as most of our guests are from out of town. In addition, the Room Flip can well accommodate all wedding day functions (wedding - cocktail hour - reception) without having to ask guests to move around. It is close to Boston Common and Columbus Park for portraits as well. The venue also have a small VIP room for bridal party to change, prep, get ready. I think this penthouse addition is tailored for events like this! Last but not least, highly highly recommend!

Overall we are happy we chose the State Room for our wedding, but unfortunately we did not have the 5-star experience that most reviews describe. We used many of the included items such as tables, chairs, linens, and tableware. We were happy with their quality, and it made planning very simple. We also thought the service, by waiters and bartenders, was exceptional on the day of the wedding. The food and cake, both at our tasting and wedding, were great! Prior to the wedding, we were often frustrated by Longwood’s communication and organization. Our sales manager left and we weren’t provided anyone else to contact. We realized this 9 months from the wedding because no event manager contacted us, as we had been promised. We were told to hold simple questions, like the candle policy, for our event manager. By the time we were assigned an event manager, we weren’t able to book our tasting when we expected. This was particularly difficult as tastings were only offered Tuesday-Thursday, and we live out of state. We often felt like our wedding wasn’t a priority. Our first call with our event manager was cancelled moments before we got on the phone. This continued to our rehearsal. Our event manager was late because they were on the phone with another client. We had worked hard to get our out-of-town bridal party to the venue for a 2pm rehearsal and it was extremely frustrating. I felt like small details during the rehearsal and setup had to be double-checked, even though they had been discussed and written in our event plan. I recommend the State Room for the views, location, and food services. Hopefully if you are working with an outsider planner, many of the organizational difficulties can be avoided.

We could not have asked for a better venue, team or day! From Jenna making sure everything flowed seamlessly and was set up perfectly to the amazing team who served, bartended, set-up every individual was amazing. We got numerous compliments on how great the entire staff was. We also got so many compliments on the food, which is not something you hear often in regards to wedding food. We could not recommend this venue enough, they have now become family.

Wedding of our dreams at the State Room! The view cannot be beat, and the layout of the Great Room worked perfectly for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner reception. We were even able to do a small baraat at the start of the ceremony from the mezzanine to the main floor. Jenna was absolutely incredible to work with throughout - unbelievably responsive, helpful and accommodating, and ensured that every detail went perfectly on the day of. The rest of the day-of team was great as well and we are so happy to have chosen the State Room for our special day!

We had the most perfect wedding at the State Room. Of course the sweeping views of the harbor make this venue so special, but what really made the biggest impact on our wedding day was the management of the event, lead by our venue coordinator Jenna, and her team. Everything was meticulously planned out and executed, exactly as we had discussed. My fiance and I truly got to enjoy the night and didn't have to worry about set up, clean up, the run of show for the ceremony or reception, or anything else that would have taken us away from our guests and the party. Jenna coordinated with all our vendors, helped us run an efficient rehearsal, and made sure everything was set up exactly as we wanted. A huge shout out to the team at the State Room. It's not just gorgeous views - it's the chance to have a completely worry free day!

We had our ceremony, cocktail party, and reception at The State Room and it was an absolutely phenomenal experience. Jenna, our event specialist, was so helpful throughout the entire planning process. She coordinated seamlessly with our vendors. The entire team was approachable, helpful, and ensured that the night ran smoothly. We truly would not have changed one single thing. The service, the food, the bar were all exceptional especially given the size of our wedding. Recommend without reservation. Our guests repeatedly commented on the venue, service, food, and drink stating that the State Room exceeded all expectation!

We had our wedding at the State Room in September and it was absolutely perfect. I can’t even believe how smoothly everything ran. Our initial person we booked the room with, Alicia, was so helpful and kind. Our event specialist, Jenna Scali was also fabulous. Both girls went out of their way to answer any questions and help me out with many things throughout the 9 total months from when we signed the contract to the initial wedding. The staff at the venue was also amazing. Food and apps were great, bartenders were quick there was never a line, and it literally ran so smoothly. I’d pick this venue 100 times over again. Thank you State Room and everyone involved who made our wedding a true dream!

When we decided to get married in Boston, I knew the State Room was at the top of my wish list for venues - and it turned out to be by far one of the best decisions we made. Truly nothing compares to the beauty of this space and the team behind it made our day (10/1/22) perfect. Working with Amber Darcy in particular was such a great experience. She fielded my many questions and requests in the lead-up to the event with grace and promptness, and day-of, she was so key in making our day run smoothly and ensuring we had the best night ever. I didn't have to worry about anything because I knew Amber was on top of it. Our guests were in absolute awe of the views and the overall experience at this space. I cannot recommend having your wedding at The State Room enough. It was an absolute dream come true.

I give 500 stars to the stunning State Room venue (breathtaking space and view), incredible staff, and are super star event specialist, Amber D.! We had our event (for my daughter and son-in-law) this past weekend on October 9, 2022, and we are already dreaming about having another event there in the future. Amber is the best event planner anyone could ask for! She makes you feel like your event is the only one she is planning. Her attention to detail and lightening fast responses to emails and phone calls make her second to none. If you have Amber on your team, you know your event will be amazing! And let me tell you on the day of our event, we (and all our guests) loved, loved, loved all the staff! Everyone was so friendly and worked so hard to make our event a success.....thank you!!! All in all, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND the State Room!

We had our wedding reception on the 33rd floor of the State Room Longwood a couple of weeks ago. That wedding was ALL I could have imagined. The place is spectacular, which really impressed us, as well as our guests. I can’t say enough good things about Amber Darcy. She was so helpful throughout the whole planning process literally a year and a half of answering my many, many questions. Not having a good wedding planner during the process would have made it difficult, however, Amber stepped up to the plate and rescued us.  Everything came together amazingly because of Amber. She really went above and beyond with her team to make everything magical for us. Everything was timed wonderfully! We had several guests tell us afterwards that it was the best wedding they’d ever been to, and the service was impeccable. The view was so stunning. No other venue in Boston has this amazing of a view of the city looking over the seaport. It was the best place for us to say our vows, facing the beautiful sunset. It was such a special moment that I am sad that it's over! I strongly recommend the State room Longwood venue in Boston, if you can afford it. I literally had dreams about getting married here one day, and I got to do just that on August 13, 2022. This is the most stunning wedding venue in the entire city, nobody can convince me otherwise. It looks gorgeous in photos, but you literally can't imagine how breathtaking it is in person. If the views aren't enough, their events team is next level (particularly Amber). Now bear with me through this part, because there's a reason we're still giving State Room 5 stars (spoiler alert, it's our amazing wedding goddess Amber) We had a bit of a rocky start after we signed the contract (nothing to do with Amber). We signed the contract in May and then backed off for a bit since our wedding was over a year away. Around October, we were speaking with our florist, and he asked if we knew Carolyn (our former wedding specialist) had left. We didn't and nobody from the venue ever reached out to let us know. I immediately emailed both our contacts there and both people whose emails I had were disconnected and had no email forwarding set up or any message directing me to another contact. I called the venue 3 or 4 times before finally speaking with someone and they let me know both people had left and they'd let me know when we had someone new. I was now trying to plan a wedding (at a not-so-inexpensive venue) with no wedding coordinator. Cue Amber! A literal angel who just made every wedding dream come true. This really should be a 4-star review, but Amber is so insanely amazing that she leaves me no choice but to make this 5 stars because anything less wouldn't be a fair testament to her. I am the most Type A a person can be and Amber answered every email, call, and panicked carrier pigeon I sent her way. She went above and beyond when we had issues with other vendors or needed last-minute changes that probably weren't even on her to help with. 100% would recommend booking the State Room for your wedding (even despite the challenges) because the staff really is in another league. Thank you for everything, Amber!!

This venue is just absolute perfection & our coordinator Amber was a dream come true. She went above & beyond to make our day amazing; when things weren’t done to her standards or what she thinks I would want, she worked quickly to fix them, never needing to let me know there was even an issue to begin with so I could just focus on the day. Our food was AMAZING, the bar staff was fantastic, & the space was to die for. We will never be able to thank Amber or State Room/Longwood Venues for helping to make our day so memorable!

We had our daughter’s wedding at The State Room. Such an amazing spot for a wedding. The views are incredible, and the room is so lovely. Our event specialist, Jenna, was a pleasure. So accommodating and helpful. And the entire staff was on top of everything. We had an incredible event. And the food was delicious too. All our expectations were met. There is nothing like an event at The State Room – the staircase, the views, the food and the staff. It has it all.

I just hosted my wedding reception at the State Room on 7/23/22 and it was amazing! The wedding has been rescheduled 3 times because of COVID and it was certainly worth the wait. Amber, our wedding coordinator was wonderful over the last year. She was flexible as the timeline and seating chart continued to change because of COVID, and kind and understanding throughout. Our guests raved about the food, the view and the service! I got emotional just coming down the staircase and seeing all of our loved ones in a beautiful space. The State Room goes above and beyond for a memorable wedding.

We just hosted our wedding this summer at the State Room after postponing our wedding twice. When we walked into the venue, we knew this was going to be it. There really is no beating the incredible view with the floor to ceiling windows. Big shout out to the State Room and the rest of the team for making each postponement due to COVID easy and worry free. When it was finally time to start planning things for real, everything was easy from scheduling the tasting, to creating a run of show, to the seating chart, to meal choices. Huge thanks to Amber, our point of contact at the State Room and our day of coordinator. Amber was a huge source of calm and support the week of the wedding. We had a productive ceremony rehearsal and when we dropped off all of our paper assets, we knew everything was going to be okay. Things could not have gone smoother the day of. Amber kept in close contact with so many unintrustive touch-points--we really felt like we were in such good hands and all we had to do was enjoy the night! Special thanks to the Chef and his team for food that we keep getting compliments about and for making a special mango tart in celebration of our little mango!

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue to tie the knot at this past weekend! Everything from start to finish was spectacular. Our event coordinator, Amber Darcy, was amazing to work with throughout the process and went above and beyond to assist us. We couldn't thank her or the team at Longwood for hosting the best night of our lives! We couldn't be happier!

Her professionalism and care went above and beyond what we could have hoped for, and she made the planning process seamless and easy. Besides all of that, she's just a great human who made us feel special and taken care of. Our wedding day (ceremony, cocktail and reception all in the Great Room) came off without a single snag, and Amber's crack team anticipated our every need with smiles, warmth and consummate professionalism. They even reminded me to eat my dinner! Speaking of which, the food was AMAZING and all our guests said so. We got a lot of comments like, "It was the best wedding we have ever attended," and "No touch was overlooked." Our experience was remarkable and full of wonderful moments. The State Room was a fantastic location for the wedding of our daughter MaryKate and Craig Hill. Jenna was a great coordinator for us and took care of every question we had throughout the process, and then the evening itself. The reception started early evening and the view from the State Room was changing all the time and mesmerizing the guests. The food was delicious, appetizers to wedding cake and the servers were professional and attentive. Just a wonderful experience from our greeting in the foyer to the very end. Highly recommend it.

We had our wedding at the State Room, and it was perfect. Our event specialist, Amber, was absolutely amazing - though the whole planning process she was always available to answer questions and help guide us, everything we asked for she made happen, and she always so sweet and kind. Day of, the entire team took such good care of us and our guests, everything was attended to with such care. We were so thrilled with how smoothly everything went, even guests commented that they were impressed with how organized and on top of everything the venue team was. And the food was incredible, absolutely delicious! Amazing venue for a dream wedding.

As the mother of the bride, I cannot say enough about this venue. I knew the first time we walked in that it was the fairytale location my daughter always dreamed of and it was even more spectacular the day of the wedding in all its glory. The view alone is worth it but the incredible care we were given made it priceless. This was a Covid wedding, postponed far too many times. They worked with us during every postponement (and there were several) until we were finally able to have our gala event. Everything ran so smoothly and they took such great care of all of us. Food and drink were exquisite. Service was outstanding. No one had to wait for appetizers or drinks during the cocktail hour (and there were 200 of us). Meals were delicious and served with such precision and professionalism by the wait staff. In this time of hiring issues, every person working with us did a wonderful job from the setting up and breaking down turnover to the behind the scenes direction. We were thrilled to be taken care of by Amber who was a dream to work with and catered to our every need. As an event planner she was upbeat and gracious and helpful and on top of everything. Kudos to her for standing out among standouts. Also a shout out to Gary, Ruben and Jody who quietly but efficiently made sure the whole night went smoothly. This wedding was truly a fairytale come true!

The State Room is a DREAM! We originally had our wedding planned for April 2020 and had to move it not once, not twice, but three times. The State Room worked with us each time, always ready to accommodate and make sure we felt taken care of and heard. We finally got to have our wedding this past weekend and it was better than I could have ever dreamed. The venue is exquisite - with the most spectacular views (both inside and out), delicious food (my guests said best wedding food ever!), and most than anything else, unparalleled service. We worked with Amber, who was phenomenal - anticipating our every need before we knew we needed it. I did not have to worry about a thing from start to finish. Truly, my only complaint is that it went by so quickly and I wish I could do it again! The wedding was a dream come true, and the State Room was the greatest venue I've ever seen. I am so grateful.

I don't even know where to start! EVERYTHING about the State Room was absolutely perfect. Everyone there was outstanding to work with but I have to give Jenna a shout out. She made everything SO easy and so fun. She was so attentive and responsive from the start and made planning our wedding a breeze. I cannot say enough goods things about the State Room and our event specialist Amber. The venue is stunning, but it's really the staff that make this such an amazing place. My husband and I were originally scheduled for May 2020, rescheduled to May 2021, and then rescheduled again and finally had our reception in April 2022. Throughout all of the date changes, the State Room team was incredibly accommodating and worked with us to find a solution to each COVID challenge along the way. In the weeks leading up to the event, Amber was extremely communicative and organized, and always responded promptly to my dozens of questions and requests. Everything went perfectly at the reception and our guests raved about the space, the food, and the staff. I would absolutely recommend the State Room.

I’ve been debating about writing this review since my wedding late last year, however as a health care provider, it’s been eating me up inside that my silence could have dire consequences. One of my close family members has a severe allergy to shellfish, most notably shrimp, with no known other allergies and ended up in the emergency room the night of my wedding after profuse n/v. The hospital noted in the progress note during her visit that they believe it was caused by an allergic reaction. However, the State Room was adamant that there was no cross-contamination and even cited a medical condition she has that could have been the cause (this information was meant to be privately shared with the ambulance EMT as a medical history background and had no correlation with her symptoms). Although I had meticulously put together all my guests’ allergies, there were 2 other guests that evening that were inadvertently served the cake when they should have instead received a fruit assiette due to nut allergies. Our initial wedding coordinator unfortunately resigned a few weeks prior to our wedding, thus Amber ended up serving as our coordinator. I have no bad things to say about Amber as she did a wonderful job given the short notice. However, I want ensure that this incident does not happen to another bride/groom. I wish I didn’t have to state this, particularly for such a high-end venue, but PLEASE reinforce to any guests who have severe allergies that they should confirm that their meal is safe for them to eat before consuming.

We knew the State Room had to be our wedding venue the moment we walked in. It has breathtaking views, it is modernly designed, and truly a beautiful space. Additionally, once we started contracting with them, they made it all so easy! They even helped us source special Prosecco for our event. They were also extremely accommodating when we decided to postpone from February 2021 to 2022. We had Amber assisting us leading up to the event and throughout our wedding day. She was responsive, helpful, and truly an expert in her field. We were in great hands with Amber on our special day and everything went off without a hitch! We are so grateful to the State Room and their staff for making our wedding day perfect.

From the minute we saw the State Room for the first time, we were in love (who wouldn't be with that view?). From the minute we booked them, we couldn't have asked for anything better. Jenna, our coordinator, made everything so beyond easy - she was wonderful with all of our details and intricacies. Even weeks after our wedding, our guests are raving about our reception and the food. As a bride with multiple severe food allergies, Jenna and the entire team went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable with our culinary options. We had the absolutely most perfect day - stop your search and book this venue ASAP.

The State Room exceeded ALL of our wedding dreams!! They were an absolute pleasure to work with especially throughout the pandemic and having to postpone our wedding. We are so happy we decided to have our wedding here – from the communication from our coordinator, to the level of service at the wedding, to the delicious appetizers and food (that guests of ours still rave about!), to the absolutely breathtaking views – we couldn't have had a better experience! We would recommend the State Room over and over again to other couples. Still dreaming and reminiscing about that absolutely beautiful day!

We knew we wanted to get married at the State Room as soon as we got engaged and we are so glad we did! Every staff member we worked with through the wedding planning process from booking our date, to our wedding coordinator(s), to the staff the night of our wedding were so friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to work with! In addition, the State Room went above and beyond to help us have our wedding after having to push our date twice due to COVID. Our guests raved about the wonderful food and of course the view! I would highly recommend having a wedding or event at the State Room!

Amber and the whole State Room staff made sure that we had the perfect night. It was absolutely the best view, food, and atmosphere that we could have ever asked for. The staff was so attentive and made sure that we were always having the best time. 10/10!

AMAZING. Jenna and the entire State Room staff were the reason our wedding happened successfully. It's because of them that we can have the memories and sentiment to know that our night went without a hitch. From concept to creation, Jenna is knowledgeable, responsive, accommodating and does her job impeccably to ensure all of the (many many) details are accounted for... and she makes it look easy. The venue itself is stunning and served as the most special backdrop for some of the best moments we've ever had! Our guests have endlessly raved about their experience. The food, the setting, the staff truly could not be better.

Very professional, and as a bride I really do appreciate all the reassurance as well, especially planning a wedding during Covid. As soon as we left our venue tour, we knew no where else would compare. The view alone was enough to win us over but little bit we know we would have the most incredible staff to go along with it. Carolyn was absolutely fantastic from the start of planning through the day. She was always quick to answer all our questions even with the ever changing covid protocols. I can not say enough good things and thank yous. Our bridal attendant the day of was truly a life saver! She made sure my husband and I were taken care of and were always looking our best. She was first to remind him to button his vest for pictures or personally help fix my bustle when it fell. The food was just as incredible as the view. The food, view and staff make for an unforgettable night! I couldn't imagine our day anywhere else.

I can't say enough about this venue! Not only is it beautiful, but the staff is an absolute pleasure to work with! They were so flexible, helpful, and attentive, which we are so grateful for after all the stress of trying to plan a Covid wedding. Carolyn Longden was our wedding coordinator and she made everything so easy. We just keep saying to ourselves that we don't know what we would have done without all of her help! All of the questions, calls, last-minute worries- she handled like an absolute professional and never made us feel like a bother. We are SO happy with the way everything came together!!

As soon we decided we wanted to get married in the city of Boston, I knew that the State Room was the only venue I wanted. The team made it easy from start to finish planning our day. The view from the Great Room is reason enough to book this venue. You don't even need serious decor or florals to add to the space because your guests will be too busy looking out the windows to notice anything else. The food was incredible and the space was so comfortable for our 180 guests. Brittany Collins was our coordinator and she made the night run seamlessly. You will not regret booking this venue!

Brittany was wonderful from the moment I met her, answered all my questions no matter how silly and on the day of: her team was exceeded our expectations. Our guests were truly wow-ed by how flawless the event was and this is all thanks to Brittany and her team at The State Room. There was never a time when I felt as though a detail would be missed and as a bride who was involved in ever detail, this was very important. I cannot overstate how amazing this venue was for our wedding and would recommend it 100x over to any couple looking to have a truly special Boston wedding.

We had the most amazing time at the State Room. The staff anticipated and met all of our needs throughout the night. Everyone raved about the food which was excellent! The only issue that ever came up was that we had to wait until we were within 30 days to schedule the rehearsal and we’re then forced into a 12 pm time slot which was tough. Other than that everything was amazing and they really bent over backwards to make sure things were as we wanted them. Alison was especially amazing.

The State Room was the exact venue we imagined. We visited 10+ venues in the greater Boston area knowing that we wanted an indoor venue with beautiful views of either the water or the city-scape. We did our due diligence but once we saw the State Room, we knew it was the one. As others have stated, the views are unmatched. Their professionalism through the sales process, gave us 100% confidence we were in good hands up to and through our wedding day. Another deciding factor was that the cost fell into our perfect median in comparison to venues of the same measure. The reason for this positive review is because of the follow-through to achieve our dream wedding. No detail was left uncovered. Food was very important to us, and the menu and the quality of the food is again unmatched in comparison to other venues and is on par with great restaurants around Boston. We loved it at the tasting, but what is most impressive was their ability to execute for a reception of 175 guests, with the same excellent presentation and taste. Our coordinator, Amanda was not only a get-shit-done kind of gal which I appreciated, but was also organized, responsive to my emails (which there were a lot) and I always felt that we were on the same page in terms of style and delivery. The wedding day was the culmination of our hard work. The food was great, the views were breathtaking, and the event design was just as my Pinterest page had pictured. Amanda was solution-oriented for all my desires without breaking the bank. For example, their in-house tables chairs and linens worked well in the space, where I was able to reallocate budget to some of the other decor items. She guided me towards where best to spend the money. I know my guests were blown away.

I’ll just start off with saying WHAT A VIEW! The State Room was the first venue we looked at as we started the wedding planning process and the rest of the venues we looked at just couldn’t compare. While we ended up having our wedding in the Great Room the other event spaces at the State Room were just as beautiful and had views to knock your socks off. Once we decided on the State Room, Carolyn walked us through the entire process and made every decision for us super easy. She was very attentive to our needs and helped us have the wedding of our dreams. The food was incredible. It was near impossible to narrow down the hors d’oeuvres down to 6 from their large list as each one we tried was better than the last. The entrees were to die for as well and cooked to perfection. We also really liked the options that were available for the wedding cake that were outside the regular plain flavors as we ended up choosing the raspberry lemonade. Carolyn and the rest of the State Room staff helped our special day go off without a hitch. Carolyn was always available whenever we needed to make a change to the plans and created a great, stress free environment during the planning process. We appreciate everything the State Room staff did for us and made our wedding a day we will truly never forget. Again, WHAT A VIEW!!!

We had the most amazing wedding. It went better than we could have imagined and still feels like it was all a dream. The State Room / Longwood are in the business of weddings and it shows, everything ran so smoothly. Our day of venue coordinator Carolyn Longden was super friendly, answered all my questions during the tasting/planning meeting and made sure everything was perfect on the day. Sure it's one of the more expensive venues in the city...but come on, that view ! We're still receiving lots of compliments on the food which is great! The cocktail apps were substantive and the menu is quite good. There is only one bar set up though, so the lines during cocktail hour were a bit long (even with 2 bartenders) which I was concerned about in advance, but I suppose it is not atypical for any wedding. They take care of so much, that it feels like you're hardly planing anything. It's almost too easy. I think this made me a bit unsettled during the process, I didn't know if we should be talking more, when do we need to meet to plan, etc. However I felt so much better after the tasting / our planning meeting (about 5 months before the event). Carolyn was super detailed, answered all my questions made great recommendations, brought in linens and chair samples, helped coordinate uplighting, pictures for the entry hall, and more. You unfortunately do have to be sure to remove everything the night of (we hired a day of coordinator to ease that burden), and you won't have certainty on the rehearsal timing til about a month before so you do just have to plan the dinner and hope it works out....it did work out for us :).

The State Room is truly an amazing venue. We had our reception here in June 2019, and we could not possibly be happier with our decision. From start to finish, the professionalism, attention to detail, and quality of the State Room staff was unbeatable. Throughout the planning process, the SR staff was super helpful with giving us suggestions for vendors, talking through our vision with us, and being incredibly responsive to our many emails. We did our tasting about six months before the wedding, and we LOVED all of the food - it made it really difficult to choose what we wanted to serve! The best part was that the State Room staff was super flexible and accommodating when we wanted to make slight changes to some of the dishes - I've heard of other venues being pretty strict about changes to their set entree options, and this was definitely not the case with the State Room. A few months before our wedding, the coordinator we were working with left, which initially made me very nervous that things we had talked about with her might slip through the cracks. However, the SR team was extremely professional about the transition, and our new coordinator Alison jumped in without missing a single beat! Alison was awesome from day one, making sure she was completely up to speed on all of the things we had discussed with the previous coordinator - it was truly a flawless transition. The day of our wedding could not have been more spectacular. Our guests raved about the beauty of the room itself, the food, and the service. Alison and the rest of the SR team did an awesome job of coordinating with our planner and the rest of the vendors to make sure that the room was set up exactly how we wanted it, and the entire staff was so on-point the entire night. Most importantly, my husband and I (and our families) felt incredibly cared for the whole time. From the minute we arrived from the ceremony, we were brought into a "VIP room" where the SR team had put aside drinks and appetizers from the cocktail hour for my husband and I to enjoy as we decompressed for a few minutes before joining the party. We also had an awesome bridal attendant, Michael, who was with us the whole night - checking to make sure we always had everything we needed. Overall, I highly recommend the State Room to any bride looking for a quintessential downtown Boston wedding. The beauty of the room is unparalleled, but beyond that, you will receive top-tier service from true professionals.

The venue is modern, and the views are breathtaking. We got married in the Harborside room in July 2018, and everything went very smoothly. Additionally, many of our guests loved the room/views, and the food was delicious (the dinner meals were huge, and everyone raved about the mac and cheese balls). Kristen, our coordinator, was very responsive, helpful, and professional the whole time we were planning our wedding. The one thing I will say that was frustrating during the planning process is that the State Room upcharges for literally everything. We knew that going in, so we were mindful during our planning process, but it could still be frustrating when you're in the thick of wedding planning and juggling so many moving parts. However, like I said, Kristen was great and she knew we had a budget in mind, and she helped us get creative to make sure we stayed as much within it as possible. She was very professional when our parents had extra requests as well. Parking can also get a bit tricky if you plan to drive for meetings/have guests planning to drive to the wedding (but also, duh, it's downtown Boston). Overall, the venue was one of the things we received the most compliments on from guests, and working with Kristen was fabulous, so I would highly recommend the State Room to those looking for an urban, sophisticated, modern wedding venue. (Tip: We originally assumed we wouldn't be able to afford this venue, but the sales coordinator negotiated with us to get the price down to an amount we were comfortable with.)

Getting married at the State Room was the absolute best decision we made in planning our wedding! Kristen was SO organized, patient with all of my questions and so kind to us through out the entire planning process! That view can’t be beat- we had out of town (and in town) guests who were so impressed by the space and the view, even when the fog rolled in for a few hours on our wedding day! The State Room had always been my dream venue, as my parents had been married in the same space 30 years earlier, but Kristen and the team at the State Room wildly exceeded my expectations!

We absolutely loved our venue. Sure, it's expensive but it's worth it for the view! The food was excellent and Amanda, our coordinator, was very easy and accommodating to work with. Definitely would recommend it if you're looking for a glamorous wedding in the city!

We had our ceremony and reception at the State Room in July, and we could not be happier we chose this venue. The views are amazing, and the rest of the space can be transformed to your taste. Longwood Venues also has a wonderful selection of menu items, and they can accommodate many special requests. Their team worked so well with our wedding planner leading up to (and on) the day. During the reception, the food and service was amazing! They were so attentive to my husband and I, and to our guests. Thank you Longwood Venues!

We had a tremendous experience at the State Room for our wedding in August, 2018. Once we visited we knew immediately that this was where we wanted to get married, and the experience, from planning to the night of, completely validated that decision. Kristen was our event planner, and did a wonderful job of responding to our (many) questions and requests, and from the tasting to the night of was there for us. The food was delicious, the cake was delicious, the recommended vendors were excellent, the view was extraordinary (even on a cloudy/rainy day) and we can't imagine having gotten married anywhere else.

Our wedding at the State Room was absolute perfection. Planning our wedding was so easy and fun; Brittany Marsh was our event specialist and she was amazing. She helped our wedding vision come to life with all her organizing and logistics coordinating, and guided us patiently through all the decisions we needed to make. Brittany and the staff worked so well with all our vendors and we felt so relaxed and confident knowing that the State Room was coordinating everyone- we did not worry about it at all! The State Room and Longwood Venues is incredibly well run, evidenced by their billing and event planning documents, communication of all staff, and day-of coordination. We and our guests were so impressed with everything during the evening- the friendliness and helpfulness of staff, the delicious food and drink, the beauty of the view and the high quality and well arranged furniture and rental products. I want to emphasize how delicious the food was, at our tasting we were impressed and excited but it was incredible how all 200 meals and the appetizers for 200 people were also all delicious and perfectly cooked on the day of. They also made it possible to accommodate the dietary needs of all of our guests. We are so happy to have chosen the State Room for our big day and highly recommend it or any Longwood Event Venue.

We couldn't have asked for a better venue to get married in. The second we walked into the venue and saw the breathtaking view we knew that this would be the perfect place for us. Everyone we spoke to while we were planning was so helpful and so accommodating. Our coordinator Brittany was phenomenal. She was so well organized and responded very quickly to emails (and I sent many over the year we worked together) Having her there the day of our wedding was so reassuring. She made sure everything ran smoothly and helped ease my nerves. The food we selected was delicious! We got the gluten free cake because of my allergy and it was so tasty our guests had no idea it was gluten free! I have already recommended this venue to several people.My experience with the staff and the ambiance of the venue was better than I could have ever imagined.

We had a phenomenal experience working with the State Room for our wedding this spring! Our coordinator, Kristen, was so accommodating and really took the time to make sure every detail we prioritized came to life during our event. We served the Indian Fusion menu, and we were originally skeptical about the kitchen's ability to execute Indian food for a primarily Indian event. When we went in for the tasting, we were blown away (our parents were, too!), and we got tons of rave reviews about the food at the wedding. The bridal attendant (whose services are included as part of your booking) was actually amazing to have. She made sure we (the couple) got a chance to taste all of the food, directed us to where we needed to be, and helped corral our belongings at the end of the night. We were planning on outdoor photos before the reception, but the weather really didn't cooperate, so they let us come in early during setup and take our wedding party portraits in the venue! Also, we brought in a ton of personal items (napkins, tablecloths, decorative pillows, etc) to help personalize the space at a slightly cheaper cost, and the venue was amazing at letting us drop them off and positioning them where they needed to be. I'm a pretty organized and detail-oriented person, so I wasn't sure that I needed all the planning services that the State Room provides, but I'm so glad we chose to work with this team and host our wedding reception here. They really helped provide an evening we'll never forget!

AMAZING venue. The second we walked in on our first venue tour we knew this was it. I visited a lot of venues and this is the first one that I didn't want to change the rug or curtains, etc. The view is magnificent and the guests will be awed! Thank you State Room for making my special day amazing!
