Stella Event Design is the premire wedding and event florist in Southwest Michigan.

From the perfect picked-from-the-garden bouquet to creative & unique centerpieces, we can help you to create the wedding day you’ve always dreamed of, whether it be rustic-chic, traditional, contemporary or beach-inspired!
As a special event florist, all of our orders are customized to fit your specific style and needs. We suggest booking your date 9-12 months in advance, and making your floral selections about 6 months prior to your wedding. We’re happy to sit down with you to help you turn your photos and inspiration into the perfect custom floral design!
In an effort to make the process as easy as possible, We have provided as much information about our policies & process as possible below. We're more than happy to answer any additional questions you may have!
We are an events-only florist and have a $1,000 minimum order. This is usually not an issue if you plan to use fresh flowers for both personal flowers (bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres etc) as well as ceremony and reception (centerpieces).
We are often asked about what is "average." This varies greatly, but our average floral order is $2500-$3000 for a wedding of 150 guests if you plan to use fresh flowers for both personal flowers (bouquets, etc) as well as reception (centerpieces). We've created everything from $2,000 to $15,000 designs, and can create something beautiful to meet almost any budget!
If you're early in the process (which you are), we just require a signed contract and $750 (non-refundable) retainer to secure your date. Pricing on the products change from time to time, so we do our actual designing (which determines your pricing) for you once we're 6 - 3 months before your wedding.
Once a quote is created (or 3 months prior to your wedding, whichever is first) a 50% deposit (less your initial $750 deposit) is required. Some brides are ready to sit down and put a quote together right from the start, and bypass the initial $750 deposit. Please note that the 50% deposit is what locks in individual pricing on each item, as those are based on current wholesale costs.
Your final balance and changes are due approximately 3 weeks prior to your wedding date, unless otherwise noted by your designer.
Setup services start at $75, depending on your order & location.
We design a limited number of events each weekend, to make sure your event gets the time & attention it deserves, and have very limited dates available each year. Providing a deposit and completed contract to us guarantees our service for you.
We have a large assortment of in-stock containers, including standard cylinders, cubes, and glass white cubes, corrugated zinc cylinders, mercury glass, pedestal bowls, vintage glass, etched gold & silver planter boxes, barn-wood boxes and planter boxes, and more.

Shaya & her team are absolutely WONDERFUL! They are extremely organized, kind, punctual & detailed down to the last stem!! I had so much trouble finding the right florist & from the moment I spoke with Shaya I was blown away. She genuinely cares about her brides vision and detail. After the first initial email where she sends you a mock up of the florals and gives example photos of what she will use, I was just in awe of how truly organized and professional she is. When I arrived to the venue I was in absolute shock. My jaw hit the floor at how amazing she did with the arrangements and centerpieces! ❤️ I will definitely book with her with any other event & I will most definitely be referring her to everyone I know! Thank you doesn’t do her justice!!!
I am so happy that I chose Stella Event Design for my bouquet and my arch arrangement. Everything was absolutely stunning and they were so kind, responsive, and easy to work with. Made it 1 less thing to worry about during such an overwhelming (but amazing) time.
Shaya was great to work with. She was patient with changes to my requested quote, delivered in a super timely fashion on the day of, and all of our bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages were beautiful.
Shaya was incredible to work with a did an amazing job on all of the florals for our wedding. I sent her all of my pinterest insporation pictures and she made them better than we could have imagined. She was quick to respond to questions and just a joy to work with.
I worked with Shaya, who did a really nice job communicating and providing a good representation of what my bouquets, centerpieces, barrel arrangements, and swag would look like. She allowed us to drop our vases off far in advanced (we did not live near), and stored them for us until our wedding day. On the day of the wedding, the venue did not have the correct hooks to hang the swag, and Shaya worked with the venue to find a solution and get it hung where I wanted. They were on time and finished well before guests arrived. The one area I felt there was room for improvement was in the centerpieces, which were not quite as full as I had envisioned. Overall, they were a great florist to work with.
Shaya was incredibly patient with me as I kept tweaking what I wanted. Our flowers on the day of our wedding were exactly what I had pictured and we got so many compliments on them.
Shaya was absolutely fantastic in helping us get our floral together for our wedding. She did a wonderful job translating my pictures into something that was beautiful and fit into our budget and vision for the wedding. She was on time and easy to communicate with. Shaya did all our bridal party flowers as well as helped us decorate an arch for our ceremony.
When I reached out to Shaya I had no clear design plan or floral vision. I knew I wanted just all sorts of fall colors. I shared with her a few pictures and told her my color design and she delivered! Everything was perfect day of and I can’t recommend her enough! I was blown away at everything it was all so beautiful she really made everything so special and beautiful!

Shaya was great to work with! Reaching out and getting a cost estimate and securing the booking was super easy, especially since I did not live locally. I did not come in with a specific vision for flowers other than a few inspiration pictures and my hope for dahlias to be incorporated. Shaya helped create a wonderful flower plan for the ceremony and reception, helping me consider multiple options to work within budget. The flowers were so beautiful and I could not have asked for anything better! The delivery and setup at the venue were also perfect. I would definitely recommend!
Shaya was the best in helping me create a flower plan for the ceremony, and in giving me options to stay in budget yet create the image that I wanted for my wedding! The flowers were beautiful on the day of the wedding! I couldn't have imagined them being any better.
We hired Stella Event Design for our wedding flowers and rented some decor items. Shaya was super easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions or design requests we had. I didn't have a specific bouquet in mind for our arrangements but provided a few inspirational pictures and our bouquets turned out beautiful! The flower selection was so unique and fit our colors perfectly. Shaya was there for set up and delivery the day of and made sure everything looked great. The return process for rental items was super easy the day after the wedding.

Shaya was wonderful to work with and we kept making changes throughout the process. She designed my floral head crown and even measured my head the day before the wedding so it fit just right. We used bracelet wrist corsages that were a huge hit! They flowers were the perfect color and accent to our very hot June wedding.

Amazing florist and designer to work with. Shaya at Stella Event Design was an absolute delight to work with. We don't have an artistic bone in either of us, but Shaya was able to take a few likes and dislikes and turn it into the wedding design and florals of our dreams. Prices were fair and their rental catalogue is versatile. Would highly recommend hiring Stella Event Design for your wedding!
The floral team at Stella did do a good job with my flowers, however there should have been a lot more on my tables for what I paid and what we discussed. They quoted off pictures I showed them which were huge amounts of pampas grass garland with some flowers throughout. Not what I received.... it was skinny and not lush. It did look good...but I feel I didn't get what I paid for. Same for my bouquet. Once again, they didn't look bad...I just expected a lot more considering how many times I stressed "lush" and with the pictures I sent for my tables. The arch flowers turned out exactly like I imagined and the sprig of dried grass on my menus was really nice
Shaya is wonderful to work with. She is super helpful and kind and excellent at communicating. She is also incredibly talented. My sister and I compiled a vague collection of photos of flowers we liked and Shaya made amazing and perfect arrangements, exactly encapsulating all the aspects we had hoped for. Beyond the flowers being perfect and better than I even imagined, Shaya also just makes everything so simple and easy. She stayed in contact with us throughout the entire planning period, and gave really simple, easy-to-follow instructions about returning items after the wedding. She was absolutely wonderful in all aspects and I would recommend her to everyone.
Shaya was great to work with and made my vision a reality. She was on top of planning and was great to work with. My flowers were perfect from the arch arrangement to hair arrangements, I was very happy and would absolutely recommend Stella Event Design!
Shaya was amazing to work with! Due to COVID, we never go to actually meet in-person, but instead did all of the floral planning through sending photos back and forth. And with only photos and descriptions of what I was envisioning, Shaya executed my ever-evolving vision perfectly!
I originally wanted white tulips and lavender, but Shaya suggested going with caspia instead of the lavender, as caspia holds up much better than lavender does, but is still just as pretty. The caspia was beautiful with the white tulips and is, in fact two weeks later, still quite beautiful now on my balcony.
Shaya is amazing at what she does and I would highly recommend her and her expertise for your floral needs!
We worked with Shaya at Stella Event Design and she was nothing short of amazing! Throughout the planning process she asked for ideas, what I envisioned and if there were any special requests. All of that was taken into consideration and they were even able to accommodate our request for hops and wheat to be included throughout the floral arrangements.
We decided, like many 2020 couples, to change our initial wedding plan for safety reasons. We ended moving from a large 250 person gathering in MI to a small, intimate gathering in WI. Shaya worked with us and had the arrangements completed early so we could pick them up 2 days before the event. She recommended some changes for flowers that would last a bit longer and be heartier since we were picking up earlier than day of.

Shaya was great to work with! I had no idea what I wanted my flowers to look like and she spent hours with me helping create the look I wanted. We had multiple meetings and phone calls to get it exactly right. She was very patient and helpful! The flowers turned out exactly how I wanted.
Working with Shaya for our wedding was such a wonderful experience! Shaya goes above and beyond to ensure that you get EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT. I don’t know how many times in one day that I made changes to my floral plan- Shaya made the changes and gave suggestions and was also so quick to respond! My bouquet was perfect, the bridesmaids bouquets were perfect- the centerpiece flowers were amazing and everything was beautiful. I couldn’t have asked for more beautiful flowers on my wedding day. Working with Shaya was a dream. She was responsive, creative, timely, and available 24/7. On my wedding day, I forgot a bouquet for my bridesman. She went out of her way to go make it and deliver it with enough time to spare to set up all flower arrangements before our ceremony. I was the type of bride that researched 5+ vendors, trying my best to be cost effective, and if you’re that type of bride... trust me stop at Shaya and her team. My Husband and I used Stella Event Design for the Flowers/Greenery at our wedding. They were so professional in the way they sent proposals and updated them if anything changed on my end. They gave timely reminders of upcoming payments (all the payment information and dates were located on the proposal). The week of our wedding, they sent me some "sneak peak" photos of the wrist corsage. The day of, I did not even need to speak to them because they just came to the venue, set everything up so beautifully, left the girls flowers in the girls area and boys corsage in the boys area. They were so nice and pleasant. I HIGHLY recommend this florist. Our flowers and greenery far exceeded my expectations.
We used Stella Event Design for our floral services as well as rented a couple other nicknacks from them for our wedding in September of 2017.
Jessica was a joy to work with. She was very responsive to my millions of emails and very accommodating to our schedules since we came from out of town. When I initially started looking for a florist in the St. Joseph area, I knew I wanted to find one with a rustic/greenery feel to their designs. Jessica had a very impressive portfolio of pictures that exhibited just those qualities.
We ended up choosing a lot of greenery, baby's breath, succulents, and some other flowers to give the bouquets color. The bridal party bouquets (including my own) were gorgeous and I wouldn't have changed a thing about them. They also held up very well in the 90 degree heat the day we got married. The groomsmen boutineers; however, did not hold up as well. By the end of the ceremony (only ~ 30 mins outside) my husbands white rose was falling off the pin and could not be fixed. It was slightly disappointing not to have these in the remaining pictures but it was very hot that day so I am sure it contributed to the structural issue.
Jessica also made beautiful large floral arrangements for our wine barrel fixtures at the ceremony. We rented a large wooden string board to string our escort cards on which everyone loved (including myself). Everything arrived on time and as excepted; I never felt like I needed to worry about what was happening with my flower delivery or creation.
I highly recommend using Jessica and the Stella Event Design team for floral services if you are getting married in the St. Joseph area!
My (now) husband and I used Stella Event Design for our lakeside wedding at a family cottage and Holden was amazing! He kept everything in order and did so much to help make and keep our day perfect. We can't say enough wonderful things about him and the company!
My husband and I used Stella Event Design for the flowers and centerpieces at our wedding. I met with Holden prior to the wedding to explain my vision, and then again to see samples of bouquets and centerpieces - he easily picked up the vibe that I wanted, and everything came out perfect! He designed beautiful centerpieces and set them up perfectly, not missing any detail! We were happy to have his guidance and help on a very important day! Everything was executed perfectly both at the church and reception venue.
We worked with stella events for our wedding at the blue dress barn. We worked with Holden and he was wonderful! He really helped make our day wonderful. It was AMAZING to have someone setting everything up and making sure everything was right on our day. We chose day of planning, so he was responsible for decorating, tear down, coordinating the vendors, making sure everyone was in the right place.... It was such a blessing to not have to think about it. We loved Holden, he has a great personality, and is fantastic at what he does. Thank you for making our day so great!
I paid Jessica to do our rehearsal coordination and ceremony coordination. I really feel like I paid for chairs and nothing else! She didn't take the initiative at the rehearsal to tell people where they should go. The day of the wedding she emailed me questions, instead of calling me, which I didn't see until after the fact. My sister didn't get my nephew to the ceremony in time to hand out programs. Instead of handing it over to someone in the bridal party who was there or having her staff do it, there was a guest who took it over. I would expect that from someone I asked to help me, not someone I paid. To me this was unexceptionable. Pretty much paid her to set up and tear down chairs.
Jessica with Stella Event was incredibly helpful leading up to our wedding day. She was available via email or phone for recommendations from caterers to salons. We used their services for our beach ceremony and flowers, as well as decoration for the reception venue. It was so worth the money to take those big items off of my long "to do" list for the wedding, and they made the spaces so beautiful and tasteful. Mary Beth was very professional and helpful for the rehearsal and day of. I could have never executed such a perfect beach ceremony and receptions without their professional experience and creative touches. I highly recommend hiring Stella Event Design to help make your wedding day beautiful and run smoothly.
We used Stella Event Design for our flowers and it was the single best decision we made for our wedding day. I am NOT a flower expert...I had no idea what flowers I wanted but I knew what I wanted it to look like. I gave them pictures of things I liked and gave them a price range and they blew me away!!! Our centerpieces were TO DIE FOR. Almost a month later and our guests are still talking about our flowers!! The only thing I would have done differently would be to have had Stella Event Design do EVERYTHING for our wedding. I cannot recommend them enough!
I was completely blown away by Stella Event Design's work! We hired them for day of coordination services, and it was one of the best decisions we made. Throughout my year long planning process, Jessica and Holden answered my millions of questions quickly, patiently, and thoughtfully. They coordinated and provided our beautiful decor rentals, and in the few weeks before the wedding, Holden was my rock! The day of the wedding, he and Chardonnay executed every detail flawlessly, so much so that not only were we on time (unheard of for me!), but my family and I spent most of the day relaxing, with nothing to do! When circumstances required an impromptu MC for the reception (we didn't have a DJ), he stepped in with grace and charm. Holden took my vision for both the ceremony and reception and made them happen as if they were his own, and we heard over and over again how perfectly the whole day unfolded. Being able to be present and enjoy every moment of your wedding is a gift, and I cannot begin to thank Stella Event Design, and Holden, enough for their talent and everything they did to make my wedding day the best day of my life. They will always be so dear to me as a huge part in making the whole day a success!
I just wanted to thank Holden for being so helpful on our wedding day. Even though my Wife planned out every detail of the day there were a few things that didn't go so smooth. But Holden did a great job behind the scenes and I was really thankful that he was there. It was nice to know there was one person that everybody could go to if there was a question or problem. It took a lot of the pressure off of us.
We decided to hire a day-of wedding coordinator on the recommendation of our DJ and I’m so glad we did. I knew right away that we wanted Stella Event Design from the moment I landed on their website. Jessica and Holden know what they are doing…period. When I shared our decision with the rest of the wedding vendors it was like they all breathed a sigh of relief because they knew the day would run smooth.
Holden was my coordinator for the day and after meeting with him just a few times I felt like I had known him for a long time. His dedication, enthusiasm, creativity, kindness, and attention to detail made it seem like he cared about the wedding like a friend or family member instead of a vendor.
Like all weddings we had a few hiccups and Holden was right there through them all. There were several issues that he solved behind the scenes without me even knowing. I can’t tell you how may times I had to say, “go find Holden,” or “Holden will take care of that.” At some point we got stuck with our two dogs because nobody could get them back to the daycare. Holden’s assistant Chardonnay jumped in and spent all evening walking them and taking them on potty breaks. There were also several times where I would catch Holden’s eye and he would nod to me with a smile as if to tell me that everything was handled and under control. Finally right before the ceremony began, when emotional exhaustion set in and I was overwhelmed with family drama, Holden appeared in the small dressing room. Everyone had been ushered out and we stood alone for a few minutes. He dried a few tears, fluffed my dress, and somehow just saved the day with a few creative quick fixes. He had this wonderful calming effect on me.
In the end, I would strongly suggest Stella Event Design to any Bride that is looking for a stress free day. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Holden, Jennifer, & Chardonnay for all the love, support, and hard work. My wedding day was a dream come true!
I worked with Jessica Pennington at Stella Events as my coordinator, and she was awesome. I found myself with a to-do list a mile long 3 months before me wedding, and Jessica really helped me find all my final vendors and put together my timeline for the wedding. Since I was getting married 3 hours from where I live, I wasn't familiar with any of the businesses out there, so her knowledge of the local vendors was really invaluable. Jessica was also there at my rehearsal and assisted with timing the bridal procession during the ceremony, as well as coming to my venue the morning of my wedding and putting all my details and decor together. I don't think it would have come together if it wasn't for her!
The wedding was everything I hoped it would be and more, and I owe a lot of that to Jessica and Stella Events.
Working with Jessica at Stella Event Design was amazing! As a Detroit bride planning a wedding on the other side of the state, it was extremely helpful to receive vendor recommendations that were reliable, within my budget and matched my "vision." Looking at past event photos, I knew Jessica and her team would come up with something fun, modern and perfect for my theme and venue. I really trusted her judgements and referrals. She was extremely flexible with me since I couldn't always get there for a face-to-face meeting (or had very short notice!) and answered all emails immediately. She definitely went above and beyond just day-of-coordination and I am very thankful that I had her to help me on the day of the wedding. I literally do not know what I would have done without her. She was very professional and very caring. I never felt like my wedding was just another job to her, or that she was too busy to help me with things. She stayed until the very end of the reception and helped my family load up the cars (very efficiently!). I have nothing but good things to say about her and my experience-- VERY highly recommend her and Stella Event Design. You will not regret it!
